In the Eye of the Storm (One Punch Man SI Chapter 1)

I'm not a lolicon.

No, wait, stop! I swear there's more to this. Just hear me out!

I'm not attracted to prepubescent girl, not to teenage girls, not to young adults, not even to mature ones.

...Well okay, older women do it for me. No one can resist hot cougars and MILFs.

Anyways, back to my point, let me paint you a scenario.

You're an orphan picked up some by shady secret organization wanting to experiment with psychic power. You get psychic powers.

You have a room mate, in the sharing rooms next to each other, with another child with psychic power, whom you're repeated told is very promising, unlike you. Because you're powers were fucking Empathy. Well, more like I can connect with people and understand them, and let them understand me if I want. Yes, it is fucking Ninshu from Naruto, and that's it. At least at that time.

Anyways, said super psychic child is only in this place to protect her sister, not that getting her to talk is all that helpful or easy.

You and the super psychic child are saved by the Number One Hero, Blast-although he wasn't the number one of anything, since the Hero Association didn't exist back the-after some Monster outbreak.

So now free as a bird, but with nowhere to live, you put into the foster system, which surprisingly wasn't as bad as you imagined based on movies and a like. I at least had the freedom to practice and train your psychic powers.

You and the super psychic child do meet up. Mostly her dropping by out of nowhere unannounced to tell me I'm using my powers wrong, and mock me in that haughty tone she was developing. I thought it was annoying at the time, but I didn't have the courage to tell her that. ...Sadly her haughty tone stopped being annoying as we grew older and... We'll get to that.

Point is as time passed I grew physically (as any normal person... Normal person with psychic powers), and psychically. I could now use tactile telekinesis. I started munchkining the shit outta.

As for the super psychic child she grew up psychically. And that's it.

Okay to be fair she grew up a bit physically, but you could easily mistake her as a child.

I'd like to think of her as petite. Compact. In height and his bust.

Definitely not in hips though. Those definitely were adult sized. No, I will not say my sources on that.

Point is, you watched this super psychic child, that is now not a child grow up with you. You develop feelings for her. She joins the Hero Association and becomes the No.2 Hero, with a chuuni as fuck name-

"Ow!" I wince as I feel my toothbrush hit the side of my head, and fall cluttering on the ground. "Okay, seriously, I didn't even say it out loud this time."

Annoyingly the hit hurt, even thought my constant tactile shield was still active. I felt push on the side of my head, and turned to see the clock hanging in the bathroom wall, showing it was 5:30 AM.

"Work doesn't even start until nine." I said, only to feel my three piece suit get flung from my room and hit me covering my head.

I sighed. Looks like I'm going to work early after all.

"Maki, I still have my morning training. We're not meeting up until I'm done with that." I said out loud, knowing she was using Clairevoyance to see and hear me.

The air vibrated near me, with a loud pitch coming out, before it stopped then Tatsumaki's voice ran out.

"What's the point? You'll never be stronger than me."

"Doesn't matter, it's my routine and it's important to stick to it. You don't want your handler to be lazy now, do you?"

"Hmph." She literally used her powers to make me hear her huff. The feel of her power was gone, and now I had some peace again.

I finished washing my face, checking to see if I should change something with my hair, but nah, it looks fine, shonen hair going in all direction and all that.

Continuing that mental monologue. Tatsumaki ended up going the Hero Association as a Hero, and I joined as a well.

As a Staff Member. Technically I have a longer job title, but that's what it boiled down to.

My job is to be a Handler, those who specifically work with S-Class Heroes. Basically a secretary to deliver assignments for them, and be their human communication line to the organization. At least that's how it is in the best case scenario.

At worse, you're like a glorified intern (while not being an intern, so like a well paid bitch boy) to get them coffee, a snack, or whatever, etc.

As Senritsu no Tatsumaki's Handler for over a year now, something considered a miracle with how many previous Handlers she annoyed, scared or outright threatened into quitting. So the Hero Association sees me as being very valuable with how I manage to keep Tatsumaki in line (I am bullshit every side to keep things working), helping her be efficient ("Hey, here's the location of current strongest Mysterious Being. Tatsumaki, I choose you-OW!"), and have her take time off so she doesn't get stress and blow up a Hero Association HQ Building. Again.

...That last part of the job is where things get tricky.

I ran my monologue back in my head, now that I finished it, a few times and came to the same conclusion as before.

"If I end up saying this in from of the Board of Directors, there's no fucking way they're gonna buy it." I shook my head and went to get changed.

My boss, Glynda Goodwitch, Head of the Main Branch Operations Office knows, and told me as long as I don't do anything stupid and keep things under the rug then no one would care.

Which is... nice to know.

I went and put on my Psychic Dampener & Resistance Training Bodysuit, which makes me fight every single second to keep my tactile field on, and be able to just move or even talk. It was a suit I asked Child Emperor to make, which I had to bribe him with some Super Deluxe Ultra Rare Bonbons to get. Took three months of my checks to get, but the bodysuit spandex was worth it.

I wore my normal three piece body suit over it, thankfully the bodysuit self cleans, and allow for air to pass through it, so it doesn't suffocate me the weather is hot. No, don't ask me how it can have that many features, I'm a psychic not a miracle worker to understand bullshit super technology.

After I got ready, I left my apartment, went to the apartment building's garage, got into my car and drove to Z-City.

I live in L-City, which was a nice place in that it meets that balance of having high security, and low Mysterious Being attacks. Cities L, M, and N seem to be in that zone where Mysterious Being don't appear that often, and when they do, the Heroes around are strong enough to deal with it.

A-City to D-City are places that strong Mysterious Beings see as a challenge. While places like Z-City are too abandoned in terms of Heroes looking after it that any Mysterious Being can just waltz into the place.

However Z-City is where my teacher lives, so I make this trip every morning, except on Saturdays.

I parked in parking lot in front of Bang's Dojo, changed to training clothes in the park restroom, got out and went to the long stairs.

I took a deep breath and got to it.

Five minutes later, I made it to the top after running at full speed, and right as I passed the entrance, I dodged a flying kick.

"Good morning, sensei!" I said as I took my Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist stance.

"Hmm, your senses have improved." Bang, or rather Silver Fang, the No.3 Hero said, before holding his chin in thought. "You anticipated my attack, almost a full tenth of a second. Did your Observation Haki improve?"

Since I was reborn in an anime universe, I figured why not try and learn other abilities from other franchises? And why not teach them to others, that are actually good people?

We exchanged blows a few times, before we broke away, reaching a lull in the spar.

"Sadly no," I sighed in disappointment. "I think you're just getting predictable in attacking me right after I pass through the gate. You know that movie trope is getting old at this point, Bang-sensei. You better be careful though with those cliche tropes though, or you'll end up dying to motivate your student like all the overpower teachers tend to go."

"Oh really?" Bang had an amused grin on his face. "Well, since I'm such a cliche, how about I demonstrate the Training from Hell?"

"How's that any different than usual?"

"Well," a new voice came from the Dojo, as the sliding door opened to reveal Bang's older brother, the master martial artist known as Wind of Death, Bomb. "I happen to be in the area, and Bang asked me to give some pointers to his unruly student." The old master said with a gentile smile. He took his own stance, and it was obvious this was gonna be a two on one.

"...You know old masters are suppose to be wise and kind and compassionate, and not bully their students!" I said in a rush as I began to run away.

"Well, that would be a cliche now, wouldn't it!" Bang said with a grin as he caught up to.

This old man is seriously childish!

Two hours later I was done with training, bathed and went to my car.

"Finally!" Of course, right then my assigned Hero dropped from the sky. I'm sure she wasn't watching me and waiting for me to be done all this time. Nope.

A rock blasted at me at supersonic speed. This time I caught it with two fingers rather than let it hit me. It was good reflex training, and finger strengthening training.

"Hmph, at leas you didn't break your fingers this time." Tatsumaki huffed and looked away.

"Thanks for worrying." I smiled, and went to my car's glove compartment. I got my tablet out, powered it on, entered the password, sat in my car's driver's seat and got to work.

"I wasn't worried! I don't worry about weaklings!" Tatsumaki said as she sat on my lap and looked away bored.

We had a conversation about public...closeness like this, but Tatsumaki wasn't one to care, because other people's opinions are beneath her, but thankfully she kept it to a minimum, and there wasn't anyone currently around. This was because the dojo area was pretty out there, and it was very early in the morning.

Scrolling through all of the news and notifications, I looked for something at Maki's speed. My emergency mobile watch didn't ring out all through the night or this morning, so there wasn't any Dragon Level Threats.

There wasn't any Demon Level-Oh, wait.

"There's some a Mysterious Being in G-City, suspected to be-"

I didn't even get to finish before Tatsumaki lifted the car with us in it wholesale, and flew to our destination.

Senritsu no Tatsumaki was an impulsive, rash, reckless woman, with a sharp tongue, a very short temper, and very scary powers.

And even if I don't have the courage yet to tell her that she was mine...

I smiled as I felt her snuggle up into my chest as we flew away.

I was definitely hers.
