HELP! How The Fuck Do I First Woman!? (Hazbin Hotel - Eve SI Chapter 3)
"Eve," Sera spoke up with a grave tone. "How did you do that?"
Okay, Eve. Play this cool. How do I do this? What do I do?
I first thought of what bullshit excuse I could use, but... I haven't lied in this life. I don't want to start now, and I sure as fuck don't want to be the one to invent the Concept of Lying if it's not a thing yet.
Now, how to do this without lying?
Just... answer her like I did Adam when I tried brushing off crying about realizing Shame wasn't something human were suppose to have.
"By... doing it?" Nailed it!
"Eve," Adam spoke this time, with a more serious look. "Naming a Being involves having a complete Idea of the Being in question. To have a complete understanding to envision and capture it's Essence in your mind. To know about its life, how it lives, where it is meant to live, how it lives in the world and interact with the world and to capture the idea of those branches of interactions. You didn't do any of that." Adam gained a more confused yet worried look. "You just... knew. How?"
"Because I... knew?" Please, please, please work.
"Sera?" Adam looked to the Angel for guidance.
Sera grew quiet in thought.
"Given that Lilith pushed against and defied her role due to her immense curiosity, and desire to push against any perceived limits to know more, then..." She said, beginning to smile the more her self-made conclusion cemented in her mind. "I believe the Lord made Eve already granted knowledge to curb that curiosity."
"Then..." Adam looked between her and me, despondent. "What need am I to grant Names?"
"Adam..." Sera gained a more sad look. "I think—"
"Nothing changes." I said interrupting Sera, which is probably a bad move given her frown, but I had a feeling she might say something that would screw up Adam. Maybe his self-worth. "I don't know everything. I just know somethings. Also, I was lucky this time." I shook my head and smiled at Adam, which seemed to reassure him that his role isn't abandoned. "The more you two talked and described the Being, the more clues I gathered, and the more it seemed familiar to something I knew, but that's all. And I'm sure here are many creatures I wouldn't know even when Adam Names them. Because my knowledge isn't all encompass. Like Sera said, it's just enough to not be overcome by curiosity."
"I see." Adam smiled in relief.
"Hmm, that seems to be the more likely reason for the Lord's action. Very good, Eve." Sera nodded with a smile. "Also there is still a variant of the Being, the Frog that is to be Determined, so that once both as done, a version of them could be placed on Earth."
Near the Frog was a set of superimposed images connected to it.
"What's that? I thought it was already Named?" I asked, although I already began to get an idea of what this was.
"A lot of times when we, the Angels, make an Idea of a Being, we try to consider different variant to that Being, such as if they would live in different environments. If the changes are wide enough, then those Undefined Beings have variants to them that also needs to be Named. Sometimes Adam can even draw variant out of a single Being, like Horses, Ponies, Donkeys and Zebras." Sera explained. "Now Adam, given that the Frog has been Named and prefers to live more in the water, this variant could considered for living more on land."
"Hmm," Adam focused on his Task once more.
I stayed silent this time, just watching as Adam more and more formed the Undefined Being into what I knew to be a Toad, as he described what difference it would have from a Frog.
"Wait, you mentioned Earth?" I asked as I remembered that.
"Yes. The realm you and Adam will one day rule over as King and Queen; your Kingdom." Sera explained with a proud smile, filled with anticipation. "Eden is meant to prepare you for life on Earth. All the Concepts of Places or Beings that you Name and Define here on the Garden is then used on Earth to adjust and refine it further. Basically, here in the Garden you can live with no worry, while preparing everything for your Kingdom on Earth to be built. That's why your Tasks are so important. Do you understand, Eve?"
"Yes. Thank you, Sera." I nodded.
"I'm glad I could help." She said back.
Afterward, I found myself just sitting down and smiling as I watched Adam work. It's like watching a detective uncover a puzzle. It was actually pretty fun to watch.
All too soon Adam Named the variant Frog, a Toad. I felt if he had done it without the Frog as a baseline, he would have taken more time.
Next time I'll watch the whole thing from start to finish. I couldn't wait.
Another day passed in Eden.
I witnessed Adam Naming Lizards and their many different distinct versions, like Salamanders and Newts. Although he wasn't done in one day as there were too many variations like Legless Lizards and Monitor Lizards, both of which needs a whole day dedicated to each.
I saw him Name an Ostrich. I could wait when I realize what he was making, and I think he might have noticed that, since once he Named it, I immediately jumped on it's back.
I rode the ostrich through a meadow howling in joy. Adam was chasing after me in worry that day. Yeah, I guess I was a bit impulsive.
Adam scolded me on doing something dangerous like that.
"Okay! You ride it and I'll sit behind you!"
Somehow in my excitement I ended up convincing him to try it out. That day was the first time I heard Adam scream.
He insisted that he totally didn't, and I of course as the supportive wife agreed.
"I can see you smiling." Adam totally wasn't pouting.
"I'm smiling supportively." I don't think he bought it. His pout was adorable.
Another day went and once the Naming was done, and we finished our other Tasks for the day—tending the farming field, picking up fruits and fish, readying them to cut them for dinner later, or eating a some fruits, berries or nuts as snacks—we were free to wonder about as we wished.
I walked around exploring the garden some more. It's been a few days since that Naming Incident where I Named what a Frog is, and Sera. thankfully, walked herself into an explanation for me.
After we're done with our stuff for the day, usually either I'd explore the Garden with Adam. Or we'd walk about on our own, Adam seems to understand that we each could want to be on our own for a while. He would hang out with the animals while I'd explore the garden for a while, usually to places I've been before, but didn't have time to fully explore or enjoy.
I also discovered a weird... quirk of the Garden.
Given that this place was so malleable, like a designer world I would sorta... edit a location. Like literally, I could change how a place looked.
Not too much or too drastic of a change of course. But something like having a desert have less heat and more wind. Or having grasslands change into a meadow.
"Okay, I want this forest to have a lot of trees and for the branches to have thick, strong vines dangling between them."
The normal forest before me changed... into a wall of trees.
I focused my will and visualisation and tried again.
"Okay the trees need to spread out a bit."
Each tree was a block away from the next tree.
"Not that far apart!"
The trees were now a reasonable distance only a few meters between each other.
They were also perfectly spaced out, like a square spreadsheet five meters by five meters.
"Too orderly randomise it a bit." I commanded.
Then came the next problem.
"The vines are too low. They layered on the ground!"
"Too high and taut! Let them dangle!"
"The vines are too slippery!"
"They need to support ten times my weight."
"Too thick! I can wrap my hands around them like that."
"Too sterdy, let them bend!"
"Need more branches and they better not break!"
Over and over I went editing my forest for my planned game.
What game is that?
The tarzan game of course!
Something I noticed when Adam chased me while I was riding the ostrich that first time.
He actually caught up to the ostrich when it was running at full speed. Easily at that.
Humans shouldn't be able to do that.
But I wasn't a normal human.
I was a Primordial Human. Who knew what my limits were?
I found out I could jump five meters straight up from a standing position. That was a surprise scare.
But I had the feeling I could jump much higher. It's only a mental limit stopping me.
So I was here to break those limits.
I stretched a bit, too a starting running pose, too deep breath...
Crack.
And I was off. The ground had a small hole from me taking off.
I easily broke my running record of my previous life. I didn't have equipment on hand, but when I was so easily crossed tens meters of distance in seconds, it was kinda obvious.
I ran for a good while, feeling my heart pumping. I saw a good branch coming and jump toward it.
I miscalculated the jump.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAH!"
Crash!
I broke through the branch, wood shards flying everywhere as I tumbled through the air and fell on the ground rolling a few times.
I... wasn't actually injured. Not even a scratch. Good to confirm the durability.
"Okay. That... didn't go too well. Second time's the charm."
It wasn't. I went over the branch by a mile. Thankfully not literally.
Neither was the third time.
Or the fourth.
But I kept trying. Kept jumping and timing it.
And soon, I was hopping from one tree branch to another to the side of the tree and...
"AAAAAAAYYYYYAAAA YAAAAA YAAAAAA WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW!"
I caught the vine this time and let the momentum swing me forward and upward.
I let go and flew through the air till I reached another vine and continued the momentum.
I'M MOTHERFUCKING TARZAN, BABY!
"WWOOOOOOHHOOOOOOO!"
AN: Don't have my laptop. Had to write this on phone. My fingers hate me.
