Hedgehog Unleashed Saga Episode 3: Continent Travel Rescue
After a long flight, Sonic, Eve, Tails, and Chip have reached Spagonia. They fly over the sky to see the large city full of many different buildings. And with stone roads with people walking in the streets. There are also light posts with some flowers. There are also many different stores and houses as well. By the time day arrives, Sonic has changed back to her original form.
"Here we are. Spagonia," Tails says.
"Wow. It's a beautiful city," Eve says.
"Yeah. The place looks cool," Sonic says.
"Wow. I've never been to a city before," Chip says and flies around.
"So where's the Spagonia University?" Eve asks.
"It's this way," Tails says and points down the streets.
The group walk down the sidewalk street of the city with Tails taking the lead. They soon reach a very large building with a long and wide staircase. In the center area of the staircase, there is a statue of four pillars that has an orb and wings attached to it. There are also openings that have water going down.
"Here it is, Spagonia University," Tails says.
"Wow. It looks beautiful," Eve says.
"Cool place," Chip says.
"Do you think Professor Pickle will be able to help figure out what's going on?" Eve asks.
"He has to know something. I'm sure of it," Tails says.
"Well, let's go see him," Sonic says.
The group of four arrive in Professor Pickle's lab. However, they end up meeting Professor Pickle's assistant, Basil, and he explains about the situation regarding Professor Pickle.
Tails exclaims in shock, "Whaaat? Professor Pickle's been kidnapped?!"
"It was a little bit before the tremors hit," Basil says, "This old man showed up... With a…" and mimics a large belly, "And a…" mimics a large mustache, "And a whole PACK of robots. They carried poor Professor Pickle off, lab data and all!"
"It can't be!" Tails says.
"Large belly, mustache, and packs of robots. Only one person comes to mind," Eve says.
"That sure sounds like Eggman," Sonix says.
"What a horrible thing to do!" Chip says, upset, "We've got to go help that professor guy out, and fast! If he got kidnapped that long ago, he's got to be really hungry by now! And-and, if I was that hungry... I-I don't know how long I would last! I'd rather be dead!" and soon drops to the floor, but Eve catches him.
"Come on, Chip. There's no need to faint," Eve says.
Chip regains himself, "You're right."
Tails tries to reassure, "I-I'm sure Eggman is feeding him. Even he's not that cruel."
"Okay, let's go and find the professor!" Sonic says.
"But where could Eggman take him?" Eve wonders.
"Maybe we can ask around and see if anyone has seen him," Tails says.
"Good idea," Chip says.
"It will be faster if we split up," Eve says.
The group split up and asks around.
"Have you seen Professor Pickle?" Tails asks.
"Do you see the professor or a large man with a mustache?" Sonic asks.
"Do you know where the professor is?" Chip asks.
So far, no one has seen him. And when Eve asks a young girl.
"Really? You've seen the professor?" Eve asks.
"Yes," The little girl answers, "I saw him. A big man talked about taking him to Mazuri. And there are a ton of machines and monsters."
"Thank you," Eve says.
Eve then rushes off.
Soon enough, the group gathered together.
Once reuniting with the boys, "Guys, a little girl that Eggman took the professor to Mazuri."
"That's great," Sonic says.
"Then let's head out," Tails says, "Next stop, Mazuri."
The group then returns to the Tornado, and takes a flight to Mazuri. Since it's night, Sonic changes to the werehog form
Time has passed, and later in the night, the gang arrive at Mazuri. They land on the outskirt of the village. They soon begin to walk around to find any clues of the professor.
"Well, here we are, Mazuri," Chip says.
"Yeah, but how are we going to find Professor Pickle?" Sonic asks.
"And where Eggman is holding him," Eve says.
"I'm sure we'll find him," Tails says.
"I hope so, because since it's night, those monsters could be around," Eve says.
"But we never saw them during the night," Chip says.
"Hmm, maybe these creatures we've encountered only appear at night," Tails says.
And as they walk around, the monsters appear right in front.
"And there they are," Eve says.
"Let's hurry sis, we can't let them hurt the villagers," Sonic says.
"Right," Eve says.
Eve makes the daggers appear and slice and dice them as Sonic uses his elastic claws to slash them. And soon Eve fires energy balls at them. Soon, the monsters are gone.
"That was close," Tails says.
"Yeah, but we need to find Eggman's lair," Eve says.
"I'll see if I can get a few from above," Tails says.
Tails then flies up with his twin tail and soon spots a large structure somewhere in the forest. What's more, some of Eggman's robots are there.
"Guys, I found where Eggman's robots are," Tails says and points in a specific direction, "It's this way."
"Then let's hurry," Eve says.
The gang then speed through the forest area and soon find some large ancient city, a short distance away from the village. The group hides behind two large stone pillars and looks to see two of Eggman's robots at the front. Clearly guarding the front.
"Yep. Looks like we're in the right place," Eve says.
"How are we going to get in with those robots?" Chip asks.
Sonic smirks, "Leave that to me."
And with that, Sonic runs as he lets out a roar. Then stretches both arms at the two guard robots, which destroys them before they can even respond.
Sonic turns to the others, "Come on guys, let's hurry before any of Eggman's robots show up."
"Right," Tails says.
The group then rushes into the ruins and soon end up seeing more of Eggman's robots. To make matters worse, the dark monstrous creatures also appear.
"Here they come!" Sonic says.
"Let's go!" Eve says.
Sonic and Eve darts in and uses their new powers to attack and destroy the robots and the monsters. Tails and Chip watch in amazement as the two hedgehogs use their newfound powers to defeat Eggman's machines and the mysterious robots. Sonic uses his elastic claws at the robots as Eve uses her energy balls and energized daggers at the monsters. Soon enough, the monsters and Eggman's robots have been in pieces, and the monsters dissolve until there's nothing left.
"Nice job, guys," Tails says.
"Yeah. Sonic was like howling and clawing and Eve was like slicing and dicing and pow pow pow at those monsters," Chip says.
"Thanks," Eve says, "But we should get going."
"Yeah. We need to find out where Profesor Pickle is," Sonic says.
"Luckily, I've already got the answer," Tails says, and holds out his portal computer, "I've managed to hack into Eggman's computer and know where Professor Pickle is being held."
"Great," Sonic says.
"Follow me," Tails says.
Soon, the group begins to head down the mysterious ruins with Tails taking the lead. Of course, more of Eggman's robots and the mysterious monsters keep appearing, so Sonic and Eve use their powers to defeat every one of them. Everytime they defeat a group of the creatures, Tails leads them closer to where Professor Pickle is being held. Of course, Chip remains close to his friends.
They climb up the structure and hurry down the halls as they get higher up the structures.
"I have to wonder what these monsters are," Eve says.
"I was wondering the same thing," Sonic says.
"I wonder if these monsters are connected to what's been happening with the planet," Tails says.
"I wouldn't be surprised. I've never seen these creatures until Eggman fired that beam at the planet," Eve adds.
"Exactly what I'm thinking," Sonic says.
The group continues running down the hall as fast as they can, and soon reach a large opening, and they soon run over and enter the room. There, they see someone trapped inside of a cell.
Inside the cell is Professor Pickle. He is a middle-aged human man with fair skin. He has a big nose, and gray hair and very large eyebrows that cover his eyes, which are never seen. For attire, he wears a brown coat with dark brown buttons, brown pants and dark brown shoes. Below is a white shirt with a red bow.
Tails rushes over, "Professor Pickle! Are you all right? We got here as fast as we could!" as he flies over to Professor Pickle's cell with Chip.
However, the man is distracted, "Hmmm…"
Tails knocks on the cell wall, "Professor?"
"Uh, hello?" Chip calls out.
Professor Pickle holds a sandwich and says, "How dare they call this culinary concoction food? Look here, do you see this sorry excuse for a sandwich? The bread should be no less than 3/4 of an inch thick. Upon it, one tablespoon of mayonnaise and a pinch of black pepper. The contents: FRESH cucumber sliced THINLY if you please!" And turns to Tails, "Am I quite right, Tails?"
As Professor Pickle complains, Tails and Chip look at each other in confusion and bewilderment. Sonic and Eve are also a bit confused by it. Appears the professor is more concerned about the food he's been served than his imprisonment by Dr. Eggman.
"I know I learned something here today!" Chip replies.
"P-Professor…" Tails says, "It's good to see you haven't changed!"
The professor asks, "But tell me, what brings you here? The menu is hardly worth the trip, if you ask me."
"N-no, Professor. We came here to rescue you!" Tails says.
He then presses a button that opens Pickle's cell, allowing the cell to be lowered.
"Oh? Oh! I see, how rude of me," The professor says.
Once the cell is on the ground floor, Professor Pickle is able to leave.
As he leaves, he says, "Right, first things first! It's about time someone taught the chief here how to make a proper sandwich."
Tails quickly blocks his path, "You can file a complaint later, Professor!"
"Let's get out of here before Eggman's welcome committee shows up," Sonic says.
"Oh, yes. Quite," Professor Pickle says.
Then points to a nearby vault, "But let us be sure to collect the contents of that vault before departing."
Sonic nods and punches the vault open from afar. Once the door has been punched into pieces from Sonic's attack, Tails flies in and retrieves the Gaia Manuscripts and presents them to Professor Pickle.
"Ah, thank you," The professor says, "Those documents are our only hope for surviving this crisis. Let's go. There's no time to lose. I'm half-starved after being fed nothing but those terrible sandwiches!"
Chip flies to the professor and pulls out a chocolate bar, "Want some chocolate, Professor?"
"My, my! Don't mind if I do!" Professor Pickle says, pleases, and takes the chocolate bar.
Professor Pickle and Chip leave. The group shrugs their shoulders and takes their leave.
Time has passed, and the gang has returned to Professor Pickle's Lab in Spagonia. Everyone is sitting at the couch with Professor Pickle and are having tea and treats. There, the Professor explains to them about the manuscript. After Sonic and Eve explains what happened to the planet thanks to Dr. Eggman's actions.
Professor Pickle explains, "These ancient documents are known as the Gaia Manuscripts. They tell the legend of a disaster that befell our planet some tens of thousands of years ago."
"A disaster?" Tails asks.
"Quite," Professor Pickle says, "And according to the Gaia Manuscripts... this isn't the first time the planet has been broken apart into pieces."
The group gasps in shock as the professor takes a sip of tea.
The professor also explains, "The cause lies at the very core of the planet. All of the phenomena we've witnessed are the direct result of one creature- the hyper-energy organism spawned at the planet's core, Dark Gaia."
Chip flies to the hedgehogs and asks for more tea. Eve then picks up the tea pot and pours it in Chip's cup.
"So then, the monsters that we've been seeing came from this Dark Gaia?" Eve asks.
"I believe they are. The creatures you've encountered must be energy fragments of the Dark Gaia that have taken on physical form," The professor says.
Tails then asks in concern, "So how do we stop this Dark Gaia and put the world back together?"
"Luckily, Dark Gaia has yet to be fully reborn. We most likely have Dr. Eggman's pre-mature wake-up call to thank for that," Professor Pickle says, "If we act now, we may be able to restore the planet by returning power to the Chaos Emeralds."
Sonic and Eve then take the Chaos Emeralds out.
Then the professor approached them, "Sonic, Eve, you both must travel to each of the temples listed in the Gaia Manuscripts. The planet's power will restore the Chaos Emeralds, and in turn the Chaos Emeralds will restore the planet and help it heal naturally."
The four nod their heads in response.
The group soon look at the Gaia Manuscript to see the list of temples and see where they can go to find them.
"Hmm, there are seven temples, and each of them can help us restore the Chaos Emeralds powers," Eve says.
"I wonder which one we should go first," Chip wonders.
Sonic notices, "Hey look," and points to the list, "One of the temples is somewhere in Mazuri."
"And there's another somewhere in the outskirts of Spagonia," Eve adds.
"There are also temples in other places in the other continents," Tails says.
"Wow. There are a lot of places to go to," Chip says.
"Well, it's best we get started," Sonic says, "I say we start at Mazuri first. I'm worried about what Eggman might do."
"Yeah. Who knows what Eggman and his robots might do to the villagers," Eve says.
"Then let's hurry," Tails says.
And with that, the gang take their leave, jump on the Tornado 1 and begin heading back to Mazuri to find the Gaia Temple, restore the Chaos Emerald, and also stop Eggman for causing any more trouble.
