Hey Guys, surprise it's 2022 and I'm back :)
"Hey C'mon now Ishiyama, cheer up, it's just pretending," Ulrich sighed as they walked out of the classroom and towards William.
"Sounds like it should be easy right? Must be nice to not need to worry about stalker ex-girlfriends," Yumi sighed. Ulrich couldn't help but chuckle.
"Hey, Yumi," William nervously smiled, "I didn't think you were the type to leave me for my best friend."
"Hey, I always was the better catch," Ulrich winked as Yumi and Sissi playfully rolled their eyes.
"So, what's your career Yumi," Sissi swiftly asked in an attempt to change the conversation.
"I'm a nurse, how about you?" Yumi asked, more so because she was being polite, not because she cared.
"I'm a supermodel, not a far-fetched career plan if I do say so myself, wouldn't you agree, husband," Sissi winked as she tugged on William's shirt.
Yumi could feel her blood boiling, however foreseeing that she was about to erupt Ulrich placed his arm around her shoulders reassuringly.
Sissi smirked in defeat, she thought that would work her up however, she didn't count on Ulrich being able to tame her attitude. "Anyway, we have to start working on the project today William, so I assume I'll see you after you drop Yumi off at home?" She smiled as warmly as possible.
"Yeah, I'll be there around-"
"Actually William," Yumi smiled as best as she could, "you can go now, Ulrich is actually going over to my house right now so he'll take me home, see ya!" She quickly finished as she turned around and dragged Ulrich towards the parking lot. Ulrich simply shrugged at William as he allowed Yumi to keep dragging him by the arm.
"I hope you're content with the outcome," William sighed as he turned to face Sissi.
"Oh c'mon, you know we have plenty to talk about anyway, we both know what happened last night wasn't right,"Sissi rolled her eyes as William simply nodded in agreement.
"She's so, so, ugh!" Yumi pouted as she crossed her arms once again.
"You're descriptive vocabulary never ceases to amaze me," Ulrich joked as he turned up the radio.
"Shut up!" Yumi shouted as she smacked his arm. "What is your career anyway, you never told me?"
"I'm a pro athlete, it doesn't say what kind so I guess I could pick," Ulrich chuckled as he turned to see Yumi's jaw drop in disbelief.
"Okay, okay, hold up. Am I the only one in the whole class that got a realistic job?"
"Looks like it, but don't worry baby you can be the team nurse for whoever I play with, and that way you can travel with me always," Ulrich winked as he pulled into Yumi's driveway.
Yumi couldn't help but chuckle, he definitely found a loophole. "You'd really want your wife traveling with you everywhere?"
"Of course, when you find the one, you need to cherish all your time together don't you think?" Ulrich smiled warmly, deep in thought.
Yumi couldn't help but blush. It was the sweetest thing she'd ever heard him say.
"Well, aren't you getting off Ulrich?"
Ulrich quickly snapped out of his train of thought, he couldn't help but be caught off guard. "Oh, I thought you just said that to annoy Sissi," he grinned as he got off the car.
"Well it's always a plus to know that she didn't get the best of me, but we really do need to work on our project," Yumi smiled as she led him towards the front door.
"Right," Ulrich nodded as he walked into Yumi's home. He had only been inside once and that was because William asked him to pick her up for homecoming last month.
"So, when are you going to tell her?" Sissi continued to pry as William sat across the bed from her.
"Well, I wanted to tell her today but here I am instead," William sighed as he looked down at the floor.
"How much are you going to tell her?" Both Sissi and William tensed up as she finished that sentence.
"I need to tell her that I fell asleep at your house. There's no way to only tell half of the truth there. If I do that, it'll look worse. Besides, it's not like we did anything other than sleep," William defensively responded.
"Right," Sissi sighed as she sunk to her seat. Even though she wasn't Yumi's biggest fan, she couldn't help but feel guilty.
"Okay, so on the count of three we are going to share our answers and from there we'll decide if we need marriage counseling or divorce," Yumi smirked as she finished.
"Dang we haven't been married one full day and you already want to leave me," They couldn't help but burst out with laughter as Ulrich pretended to sulk.
"Okay, one, two, three!"
"Three kids, two-story house with a big yard, traditional ceremony, no," Ulrich and Yumi looked at each other in disbelief. There was no way they had this much in common.
"You want a traditional wedding?" Yumi gasped.
"Hey, I'm a traditional guy, I'm more surprised you don't believe in divorcing, I would think someone as independent as you was all for it," Ulrich answered still in disbelief.
"Of course not, when you find the one you need to continue fighting forever. Love isn't easy. So, three kids huh?"
"Yup, and a two-story house with a big yard huh?" Ulrich grinned.
"Who would've thought we had such similar views on all this stuff. Maybe we aren't as different as I thought," Yumi mumbled, deep in thought.
"Yeah," was all Ulrich managed to say, he would never admit it, but he always felt like he and Yumi would be super compatible if they gave it a try.
Yumi smirked, "Maybe I did pick the wrong friend to date."
"I'm telling you," Ulrich winked as he reached for his things, with all these questions so simply resolved they really didn't have much homework left.
"Whatever, well I think I can just transfer it to our answer sheet on my own if you want to get going, I'm sure-" A knock interrupted Yumi mid-sentence.
"Yumi dear, dinner is ready," Mrs. Ishiyama smiled as she opened the door. "Oh hi dear, we've got more than enough food, join us for dinner."
Ulrich smiled warmly, he always ate dinner on his own, however, he didn't know if Yumi would be okay with him accepting.
"Mom, Ulrich is a very busy person, I've already taken half of his day, I'm sure he'd rather head out and do his own thing. Ulrich, please don't feel obligated to stay, if you have plans it's okay," Yumi smiled warmly as she placed her hand on his shoulder. She'd never admit it, but she secretly was hoping he would stay just a little longer.
"I, I can stay and eat, but only if you're okay with it Ishiyama," Ulrich smoothly responded as he took Yumi's hand off his shoulder and into his own hand, never breaking eye contact.
Yumi felt all the heat in her body rushing to her cheeks and all she could manage to do was nod. Ulrich taking that as permission to stay simply smiled and stood pulling Yumi up with him. Mrs. Ishiyama simply chuckled, it had been a while since she had seen her daughter so flustered.
"Well c'mon kids, the foods already at the dinner table, go wash up."
