(Trails into Reverie ost - Sword of Swords)

The scene was scene Rean clashing his sword with a stern-looking nobleman as he push Rean back. Rean's Charizard was seen battling against an Electivire as it unleashed Flamethrower on him, only to be countered by Thunder, causing a powerful explosion as they interact. Next scene was Kurt running toward the man and swinging at him. The man reverses group and parry, knocking Kurt away. Kurt's Empoleon dashed with Metal Claw at the man, but he blocked and then unleashed a powerful swing, pushing back Empoleon.

"Is that all?" The man asked, looking at such disappointment. "I thought the "adventures" you had across the world and beyond has made you more formidable."

"Ngh! No, I can still fight!" Kurt growled as he took his stand.

"Hm?" The man look mused.

"Kurt!" Rean shout as he dash toward as he and Kurt dash toward the man who took his position and jump into the air as he avoided their slash as they look up.

"Pathetic." The man spoked as his sword cloaked in green lighting and slam the ground hard, knocking Kurt off the cliff, causing Rean, Charizard and Empoleon watch in horror.

"KUUUUUUUURT!"

Juna and Altina were in the water with Blastoide and Quaquaval.

"This doesn't make any sense!" Juna grumbled as Claire was seen shooting at them as Claiomh Solais is shielding them

"Blaaaast!" Blastoise fired Hydro Pump from his cannon as Claire jump away and dodged.

"At this rate..." Altina muttered.

"C'mon! We'll hide under the bridge!" Juna stated as they hide under the bridge while Claire was shooting at them. "We need to get to Insturctor Rean ASAP id we're going to figure out some way to help Levi, Ash, Venti and Musse."

"I agree—and we need to get out of this icy water before it saps any more of our strength. I think we should stand on blast—"

"Van!" A voice interrupted as Altina, Juna, Quaquaval and Blastoise had an ! Over their head and see a Vanilluxe. "Vanilluxeeeeee!" It unleash Freeze-Dry toward them.

"Incoming!" Juna yelled as they dodged the attack.

"Cynogonal!" Another voice as Gynogonal used Freeze-Dry toward them as they jump away.

"Wait, isn't Ice Tyoe moves aren't super effected against water type?" Juna asked.

"Yes. But one Ice-Type move is supereffective against water Type. Freeze-Dry!" Altina said as a mirror device was seen and Claire shoot at them, forcing them to dodged.

"I hope you don't think just because my Pokemon can see and be with you down there but I can't?" Claire wondered as she begin firing.

The Bullets shoot at them as Blastoise used Protect to shield the group on the other side against Cynoongal and Vanilluex

"Is ANYWHERE safe from her?!" Juna groaned.

"No one escapes the Icy Maiden when she's this serious, I fear." Altina muttered.

'I can't believe this is happening...'

Before all this happens...

(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - The Warmth of Soaking One's Feet)

The scene shown Ymir as Rean, Levi, New Class VII and Claire coming out of the Cable Car. They see the sights of Ymir for the first time.

"Ahh, what a gorgeous sight! So this is where you grow up Instructor?" Juna asked.

"What a wonderful place. It's so peaceful and calming." Kurt smiled.

"Ahh. So this is the Hot Spring Paradise in the Empire~ Ohh I can't wait to take a dip and relax in the scenery." Venti respond.

"I figured the snow would've all melted by this time of year." Ash said.

"Most of it has. This is just what's left over." Rean told him. "You would have really seen some snow if we were here a month ago."

"Haha. That's true. I remember all the snow back in Ymir two years ago when I found Rean by Valimar." Levi smiled. "Those were really good times..."

"Oh, how lovely!" Musse clapped her hands. "It's nice to be honeymooning in a winter wonderland. Right, Ash?"

"Wait, why are you talking about a honeymoon when we're not even married yet?" Ash asked as he light blushed a bit.

"Hehehe. You know, Musse. She's just looooove you so much, Ash. And you do the same." Venti chuckled.

"Sh-Shut up, bard!" Ash look away all embarrassed while Musse giggled.

"Well, if we really want to talk about love, shouldn't we say the same to everyone here?" Musse asked. "Juna and Kurt, Altina and Venti and last but not least, Intructor Rean and Levi. Although I imagine out of all of us, who will be in their honeymoon before us."

"And w-we has suddenly gone to the topic of marriage all of a sudden." Levi said as he blushed.

'Marriage...' Rean thought. 'Haha... That life where Prince Olivert, Lady Scherazard... Crow, Morgan, and even Byleth and Yuri. They have the same love I do for Levi... Marrying Levi, huh...' He thought of Levi in a wedding dress. He blushed for that moment.

"Why Instructor Rean~ What are you thinking right now?" Musse grinned, causing Rean to have an ! ove this head.

"Oh, Uh... nothing. Nothing at all." Rean scratch his hair.

"I owe this town much after all they did for me two years ago." Claire smiled.

"I think it's the other way around Claire." Levi smiled. "We owe you much as you owe us."

"Oh yeah. You used Ymir as your base during the civil war, right?" Juna asked.

"Yeah. She did a ton of work to improve our defense and our communication network." Rean nodded

"I suppose it's been two years for me as well." Altina said solemn. "The last visit I recall was when I was tasked with abducting Princess Alfin and Instructor Rean's little sister." She said, causing everyone to sweatdrop.

"Ahaha..." Claire nervous laugh. "It's, erm, also been a while for you, Rean, wasn't it?"

"Actually, I visited Ymir with my folks just about a few months ago when I introduced Alear, Amia, and my Emblem Self to my folks three months ago." Rean smiled.

"Oh yeah. I recall you did wanted to introduce them to our Divine Dragon friends after we dealt with Sombron. Time sure move fast." Levi casually wrap his arms behind his neck.

"Sure has. Although, we were trapped for two weeks when that happened."

"Yeah. We miss a lot... plus my pay was deducted when it wasn't even my fault..." Levi groaned, causing him to go to a corner and cower as he sob.

Rean and everyone else sweatdrop as Rean patted his head. "There there."

Levi got back on his feet. "Well, in any case. Since we're here, why don't we head to your folk's place Rean? I'm sure they would also love to meet our students."

"I was actually just thinking about that. I wanted to introduce my students to them."

"Great mind thinks alike."

"Y-Yeah... I'm kinda nervous all of a sudden." Juna nervous smile.

"Heh. I've got a whole lotta stories to tell 'em about their little baby boy." Ash smirked.

Rean sighed. "Please don't embarrass me in front of my family."

"Well, we should get going then." Levi said before he noticed Altina looking concerned. "Is something wrong idea?" He asked until he realized it. "Ooh. You're worried about what his parents will say to you after what happened two years ago, huh?"

"Yes."

Levi smiled and then petted Altina's head. "Hey. It's okay. Rean's folks knows that you were only doing that because you were ordered back then. They won't blame you for following orders. If anything, they will blame Cayenne. Since it was him to begin with. Plus, Rean's parents aren't the type to hold grudges either. They're good people. They'll understand. Trust me. Okay?"

"Okay." Altina close her eyes before opening them. "Can you remove your hand of my head?"

Levi sweatdrop. "Wait, you mean I'm not allowed to pet your head but Rean is allowed?"

"Yes." Altian said as she remove Levi's hand and take off.

"Aww, come on, Altina! Even after all we have been through, can't I at LEAST have some privileges?!" Levi complained as she chased after her and then regrouped with everyone to Schwarzer Manor.

Maid was waiting for them as she bow.

"Hello. Welcome to the home of Baron Schwarzer. We have eagerly awaiting your arrival."

"I didn't expect to find you helping out, Maple." Rean smiled. "You've gotten way better at welcoming guests."

Maple let out a smirk of confidence. "Heehee! The Phoenix Wings has trained me well, young Rean!"

Rean and the others sweatdrop.

"And suddenly, all pretenses of professionalism slip away..." Rean said.

"You kinda have to admit, it was a bit funny." Levi chuckled.

"Now, please come this way! Baron and Lady Schwarzer await you in the study." Maple said as she takes off upstairs.

"Who's she?" Juna asked

"An old friend of mine who works at the Phoenix Wings. She's got a year on me, and is determined never to let me forget." Rean answered

"You seem rather close, but..." Altina said

"Looks to me like all friends, no benefits." Ash smirked. "I figured Schwarzer would have every chick in the town fawnin' over him."

"I wouldn't have put it past him either, to be honest." Juna agreed, causing Rean and Levi to sweatdrop.

"Is this really what you think of me...?" Rean groaned

Musse giggled. "Clearly nobody here would dare get in Elise and Levi's way."

Rean groaned. "Here we go again..."

"All right, that's enough teasing him, everyone." Levi nervous smile.

"Something wrong, young Rean?" Maple asked

"S-Sorry, we're coming now." Rean said as they go up the stairs and head to the Baron's office. "Mom, Dad, I'm home."

(Trails of Cold Steel IV ost - Feel at Home)

"It's good to see you again, my son." Teo smiled

"It's been three months since you last paid us a visit." Lucia smiled

"Yeah. Again. Sorry that I haven't been visiting much. Especially since it sounds like Elise has been too busy to come home as well." Rean smiled. "She's asked me to give you both her regards."

"Well, I'm sure St. Astraia's Student Council is keeping her plenty busy." Teo said

"I just hope she doesn't work herself sick." Lucia hoped.

"I'm sure she's just fine." Rean smiled. "The youngest students all seem to afore her, and she has Her Highness, and her Pokemon there if she's ever in need of a friend to talk to. I've also been keeping an eye out to make sure no insects start buzzing around her. I ask Elise's Pokemon to do the same." He said, causing everyone except Teo and Lucia to sweatdrop.

Teo chuckled. "Are you now?"

"That overprotectiveness may create more trouble than it prevents." Altina sighed.

"Poor Elise." Musse nervous smile.

"His Sister Complex is over 9000 as ever..." Venti nervous smile.

"Its a pleasure to see you both again, Lord and Lady Schwarzer." Clare smiled.

"The same to you, Major Reiveldt." Teo said. "It's not hard to imagine that the RMP must be exceptionally busy at the moment... well... after that EAF incident... I hope your time here will help ease some of your weariness."

"Thank you, Your Lordship."

"It's nice to see you again, Levi." Teo smiled. "How have you been? Is Rean giving you a hard time?"

"Haha. It's nice to see you too, Mr. and Mrs. Schwarzer." Levi smiled." No. Rean has always been a wonderful help. Always has and always will be. Even though at the time he can be a little reckless at times. But that's what I love about him. Always caring for others and to himself."

"Haha. I'm glad to hear that." Teo turn and see new Class VII. "Oh, and these must be your students."

"That's right." Rean nodded as he, Levi and Claire step aside.

"My name is Kurt Vander." Kurt introduce. "I have learned much under Instructor Rean's exemplary tutelage."

"You would be one of the rare practitioners of the Vander's duel-blade style." Teo recalled. "I've heard that despite how capable you are, you're not one to rest on your laurels. Humble, too. Unusual and admirable qualities in someone of your age."

"I am honored you would speak of me that way, but I'm afraid you overestimate me."

"Oh, I don't think so." Rean smiled.

Ash step up. "Name's Ash Carbide If you've heard it, chances are it's because your son was complainin' about what a pain in the ass I am."

Teo chuckled. "On the contrary. I've heard there's much more to you than that prickly exterior of yours. Rean's told me that deep down, you're a very smart, consideate young man who your students depends on. Including your girlfriend."

"The Hell?" Ash giving a deadpan look at Rean. "You wanna watch what bullcrap you're feedin' your folks about me, Schwarzer?"

"Hehe. He's not completely wrong you know." Venti smirked. " But that is what make you so loveable. May I make my entrance?" And then Venti step up. "A greeting to the fair lord and Lady. My name is Venti Zachary. I'm a loving student who is carefree and enjoys the life that life itself offers me in kind."

"Haha." Teo laughed. "Ah, so you're Venti Zachary. It's a pleasure to meet the brother of Levi."

"Hehe. Has my brother and Instructor said anything about me?"

"Quite the reputation in fact. They both replied that you are as sharp as you are carefree with potential. In music, Archery. Combat and Arts, and Horsemanship."

"Levi also told us that you are adorable. And he is right." Lucia giggled.

"Aww, hehe. I'm so honored that both my instructor and my dear brother have praised me like this."

Musse step up. "I am Musse Egret. I owe much to both of your children."

"Ahh... I've heard much about you." Teo smiled. "It can't be easy to shoulder so much responsibility at such a young age."

"Not at all. Instructor Rean and Ash's love and support give me the strength necessary to overcome many obstacles."

"Oh, my!" Lucia giggled. "Love, you say?"

Rean sighed. "I thought your harassment of me was over when you and Ash began dating each other. But now I see I was wrong..."

"Well, you are her supportive teacher. So I'm sure that is what she meant... I think." Levi scratch his cheeks.

Teo laughed. "I see that Elise wasn't exaggerating. You are quite the character. I'm glad that she and Rean have someone like you to come to when they need it."

"Think nothing of it." Musse smiled.

Juna step up. "My name is Juna Crawford. It's a pleasure to meet you. I found myself in Instructor Rean's debt before even enrolling at the academy, and I've constantly been in it since. But I've been trying to learn as much as I can from him so that one day, I can be a source of strength to others just like him."

"Oh, you're the young lady from Crossbell. What a commendable spirit you have!" Teo smiled.

"I agree. You seem every bit the earnest, cheerful young woman Rean told us you were.

"What... else did he say about me?" Juna asked curiously.

"You told us you never give up even when all seems lost and act like a shining beacon of light to those around you. It seems he really depends on you." Teo answered

"That's really flattering to hear... but also really EMBARRASSING to hear in front of my classmates and boyfriend!"

"You're not the only one going red." Rean muttered.

"Haha! That is what makes the two of you just as loving and adorable~" Levi chuckled.

"How are you not completely desensitized to the things you say by now?" Kurt asked

"A-Anyway, I've had my turn now." Juna glace to Altina. "Last up is you."

Altina step forward. "Altina Orion." She said, feeling uncomfortable.

"You okay, Allie?"

(BGM ended)

"I'm the one who abducted Elise and the princess during the Northern Jaegers' attack on Ymir two years ago."

"Altina..." Musse said solemn.

(Trails into Reverie ost - The Sunset We Always Look)

"I know I have no right to even be here after the harm my actions caused you. But since I have this opportunity..." She bow in apology. "I am so terribly sorry for what I did."

'So that's what she and Levi were discussing earlier. That's must really have been eating away at her.' Rean thought.

"Please, raise your head." Teo said. "You were but a child following orders, and you did nothing to harm either of them. You need not feel guilt for your actions."

"Still..." Altina trailed off

"There is something I would like to say to you as well." He said which Altina is prepared to hear the worse new to come. "Thank you, Altina" but did not.

Altina look surprised. "For what?"

"I hear you were always at Rean's side during the year he was fulfilling the government's demands after the civil war. I'm truly grateful he had you to support him."

"I-I was just following orders then, too."

Haha. Even so."

"Besides, you're not here today because you were ordered to be, are you?" Lucia asked

"I...Altina paused for a moment and then she smiled. "That's true. I'm part of Class VII because I chose to be and want to be."

"See, Altina." Levi smiled "I told you you shouldn't be worried. Plus, the class wouldn't be the same without you. Right guys?"

"Right." Venti smiled.

"Then you have no reason not to feel completely welcome here." Teo smiled as he turns to Rean. "You're a lucky man to have so many wonderful students, Rean. Not to mention a loving assistant and a lover too, right?"

Rean nodded in agreement with a warm smile. "Yeah. I couldn't agree more."

"Aww." Levi scratch his cheek as he blushed.

"Well, I think that's enough talking for now. What say you all to some lunch." Lucia suggested. "You've had a long journey—you must all be starving."

"Now that you mention it..." Juna said

"That's true. We did set off rather early." Altina said

"Thank you for your kindness." Musse smiled "I can't wait to sample the culinary delights of our instructor's home."

"Would you like some assistance?" Levi asked

"No need. I'll have everything as soon as I can." Lucia smiled.

"I gathered some excellent pleasant meat during my morning hunt. You're going to love it." Teo smiled

"You went hunting first thing in the morning?" Claire asked

"Someone must've been fired up." Ash comment.

'Your parents are such wonderful people.' Kurt whispered

'Heh. Tell me about it.' Rean smiled.

One meal later...

(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - The Warmth of Soaking One's Feet.)

"Man, that was so delicious!" Levi sighed with joy. "Your cooking is just as amazing as ever, Mrs. Schwarzer."

"I agree. Aside the meat was fresh, but your garden-raised vegetables were delicious as well, Lady Schwarzer." Claire added

"That meals was the perfect balance of rustic and flavorful." Musse smiled

"And they weren't bein' stingy about the portions, either." Ash added.

"I've never tasted a wild strawberry tart as fine as that." Altina smiled.

"Ahh, the drinks is just as both comforting and exquisite." Venti cheered

"The tea afterwards was first-rate, too." Kurt smiled

"I actually think I might've eaten a bit too much." Rean chuckled.

"I'm just happy we would satisfy you all. Either way, we'll get out of your way now." Teo smiled

"But if there's anything you need, please don't hesitate to call on us." Lucia smiled

"Thank you!" Juna smiled as Teo and Lucia take off.

Rean turn to Claire. "So, Major.. Now that I've got a chance to ask, there's one thing I've been wondering. Why exactly did you call us here?"

"Right, the Principle said it was a 'special assignment'. But what's the reason for being here to Ymir? I assume it also involve the RMP?" Levi asked.

"I understand your curiosity, and naturally, there is a good reason why you are the only class here. However, I'm afraid it is not my place to elaborate." Claire answered

"So someone else will be telling us?" Rean asked.

"Regardless, it will be a while longer before everything is ready. You haven't been home for three months, right Reah? So why don't you take the chance to walk around Ymir while you wait. I imagine the rest of you would enjoy the opportunity to take in the sights, too."

"I suppose so. I haven't visited Ymir in awhile." Levi replied. "Plus, the students haven't been here before as you said."

"True. In that case, how about I show you all around?" Rean offered.

"I must admit, that is rather temping." Musse smiled

"But Instructor, it's rare you're affording the chance to come back here—there must be things you want to do without us." Kurt said

"Yeah. We can show ourselves around, no problem!" Juna agreed.

"It's not like we're babies, y'know." Ash said

"We'll be all right on our own." Altina agreed

"Yep. So go ahead and have fun with Levi or whatever floats your boat." Venti chin in.

"Well, if you insist..." Rean scratch his cheeks. 'I appreciate the sentiment, but it kinda stings to be shot down like that. But I guess I'll do what they say and go see how everyone in Ymir's doing.'

Everyone got up and they begin to leave Schwarzer Manor to do their own thing as they take off.

It's so good to be back home. What makes it better is that I have Levi here with me. And having him by my side is all the bliss I could ever hope for. Anyway, I should get going. It might be worth checking in on the others if I run into them, too." Rean thought as he took off.

Rean headed upstairs and into his Father's office.

"Hey there, Dad." Rean greeted with a smile

"Hey there, Rean. I can tell from the way your students look at you that you're doing a good job as their instructor. As a father, I couldn't be more happy and proud of you to see that, son." Teo smiled.

"Thanks, Dad. That means a lot coming from you. "

"Being a teacher's not so different from being a baron, you know. Both involve fostering the growth of those who look at you for guidance, such that they may grow ever stronger and self-sustaining."

"When you put it like that, I can see what you mean. You definitely are always supporting everyone around here."

"Exactly." Teo smiled. "That's why I figure if you were ever to inherit my position sometime down the line, I know it would be in good hands."

Rean sweatdrop. "That's... a conversation for another day, I think."

"That reminds me, Rean. I been meaning to ask you something. I don't mean to pry but... have you thought about... making it official with Levi?"

"Offical? What do you mean?"

"You know. Marrying him." Teo answered, causing Rean's to turn red and have an ! over his head.

"Wh-Where did that come from all of the sudden?" Rean asked flustered.

"Well, I know it's been half a year since the two of you started dating. And it's been two years since you two know each other. You're practically inseparable as you both support one another. I know that deep down, you wanted him to be with you for the rest of your life, right?"

"I..." Rean look the other way as he blush, hinting a smile on his face. "I can't deny that. It's funny now the topic has been brought up..."

"So you have thought of it." Teo grin.

"Well... sort of. But... is it a bit too early for me to... you know... talk with him about that?"

"Perhaps. But I have a feeling that Levi thought about you and him being a family."

"A family, huh..." Rean place his hand over his chest as he smiled, thinking about he and his lover on dates, the two always sleeping together since they begin dating, supporting each other. "Yeah... it does feel like he and I have gotten engage."

"So what are you thinking?" Teo asked

"That... I really do want to marry him."

"Then I'll be waiting for the good news." Teo chuckled with a smile. "And I can't wait to see my grandchild too."

"You know that we're both men, right?" Rean asked with a sweatdrop with a nervous smile.

"And? We taken you in, didn't we?"

"I... can't argue with you there." Rean scratch his cheek. 'Marrying Levi, huh... Oh Aidios... This topic again... It's like I want to marry him right now.'

"Haha. Let me guess, you can't wait, can't you?" Teo chuckled

"Was it that obvious?"

"Like an open book. Good luck finding a ring for him. I'm sure whatever ring you got, I know that it'll be perfect, no matter what."

"Yeah. Okay, thanks, dad. I'll see you in a bit." Rean said as he takes off and leave the manner. "Ahh... Nothing says 'I'm home' quite like the clean taste of Ymir's air.' He said as he walks around and see a stable master taking care of a horse. "Hello there, Gizno."

"Ah, Rean! Welcome back." Ginzo smiled.

"Are you looking after Arthur? Would you like a hand?"

"Oh, I'll be quite all right. You haven't been home in quite some time, so I would rather you were able to rest."

"Thanks. That's really considerate of you." Rean smiled. "I've spent a lot of time on horseback over the past few years..." He said as he petted Arthur. "But thinking back it's thanks to Arthur that I was able to learn to ride at all."

Ginzo chuckled. "I remember that you struggled to get on his back when you were just a boy. That was so long ago now. Ah, I can feel the memories flooding back."

"Me too." Rean smiled as he petted Arthur one last time as the horse's snort. "It's good to see you boy. Well. I better get out of your hair. See you." He waved goodbye and then headed to the foot bath where Musse and Altina are having their foot bath. "There's the foot bath. Sounds like just the thing after having such a hearty meal." He approached Altina and Musse. With them are some of her Pokemon, Blastoise, Alazaham, and Tinkaton. "Enjoying the foot bath, you guys?"

"We certainly are." Altina answered.

"It must be wonderful having a place like this in the middle of your village." Musse smiled

"It's one of Ymir's biggest selling point, to be sure." Rean smiled. "If you don't mind, I think I might join you." He said as he begin to sit next down to them, taking off his boots and then put his feet in the warm water. "Ahhh... This really warms you up."

"Blastoise." Blastoise agreed.

"Oh Yeah. It seems everyone's Pokemon are out and about. I should do the same." Rean pull out his Pokeball, turn his back. "Come on out, Everyone!" He toss the Pokeballs and came out all of his Pokemon. "Welcome to Ymir, my home town. Enjoy yourselves, okay. Don't cause any trouble okay." He said, as his Pokemon nodded and cheered as they split up.

"Hehe, your Pokemon are just as happy to see the sights of Ymir, don't they?"

"Yeah. It's nice for them to get fresh air too." Rean smiled. "I imagine Greninja would enjoy this foot bath."

"Ninja." Greninja said as he was already in the foot bath soaking his feet.

"And speak of the devil, there he is."

"Hehe. Well, having a foot bath does feel like all of the fatigues just fade away." Musse giggled.

"It's strange how effective it is, given how little of your body is actually inside of it." Altina mused.

"So what were the two of you talking about before I came over?" Rean asked.

"Our boyfriends. But after that. You." Musse answered.

"Venti and Ash I can understand but why me?"

"Specifically speaking, we were talking about that power of yours. You know, the one you used back during in Hyrule?" Altina answered.

"Ah..." Rean trailed off.

"The curse's influence completely disappeared as a result of the final Rivalry. As well as Aether and Levi purge Ishmelga from existence. But your specific power still remains, correct?"

"Yeah. The seed that originally gave it to me is gone. I talk to Palutena, Ryoma, anf Zhongli about it when we return to our proper timeline after the EAF incident."

Flashback...

Palutena used her staff on Rean as the orb glow as Ryoma and Zhongli close their eyes.

"Hmm..." Palutena hummed until her orbs cancel its power. "All right, I just finish examining you."

"So what do you think?" Rean asked.

"Well there's nothing wrong with you or your body. And that the seed that was in your heart is gone too. But this power that you used in Hyrule is something else. I believe that it's your own power."

"I believe so as well." Zhongli nodded. "Perhaps this newfound power is the result of your soul."

"My soul, huh?" Rean asked as he placed his hand on his chest.

"I believe so too.' Ryoma nodded. "Power comes in many forms, Rean. Tell me, when you awakened this power, did you feel some changes?"

"Well..." Rean close his eyes. "I did feel this overwhelming power that strengthens my body, and mind, it's like a semblance of the people of Remnant development."

"That's a good way of putting it." Palutena smiled. "The people of Remnant used aura and a semblance that reflected their souls. That power is no doubt different."

"It also shows how much stronger you become." Zhongli added. "Your battle with Ishemelga is the result of how strong your soul has become. A spark of flames evolves into a massive phoenix."

Ryoma nodded "Indeed. Your hardship is the fruit of your merit and labor. This newfound power may be the result of the Great Twilight, but it has now evolved into a greater power. A power of your own. A power of your soul."

"A power of my own, huh?" Rean closes his eyes, thinking back during that time with Ghirahim unleashing the Apathy onto them.

"Tell me, Rean. When you awaken this power, why did it appear? It is because something happened in Hyrule that triggered it, right?"

"Yeah. I suddenly awakened this power because I wanted to protect Levi, my students, Link and Tulip from Ghirahim and the Apathy."

"I was wondering what he was doing..." Palutena rub her chin. "Still, this power awakened because you wanted to protect them from the Apathy. It's natural. But since the Apathy are monsters who can drill the will of all beings... it never easy to kill them."

"Right. But an Iron Will is powerful enough to overcome that. Perhaps you might have inherited that from you know who." Zhongli said

"..." Rean look surprised as Osborne appeared in his head.

"In that case, why don't we test it out?" Ryoma suggested. "We haven't spar in awhile, Rean. So why don't we test that?"

"Haha." Rean nodded, ready his Tachi.

End of Flashback...

"Thanks to Ryoma, Zhognli and Plautena's clarification, I have more control of my power." Rean smiled

"That's our Goddess of Light." Musse smiled.

"As well as Levi's eldest sibling and the King of Hoshido. Speaking of him. I have to ask. How did you meet someone as regal as him?" Altina asked.

"Back after our worlds were merged into the Mushroom Kingdom and the others. Corrin gave me a Valla, and then show me Hoshido. You couldn't believe my eyes when I saw how beautiful and prosperous Hoshido is. A land filled with fresh grass and eastern culture. When we enter Castle Shirasagi. King Ryoma has this presence of a king and a spirit of a warrior when I first met him."

Flashback again...

"I honestly can't believe I'm visiting a castle with Eastern influence. Let alone witnessing how beautiful it is." Rean said in awe as he look around walking the hallways with Corrin.

"Haha. You're an admire to the eastern culture, aren't you?" Corrin smiled.

"It's thanks to my Master. But wow... He wasn't kidding about the east is a whole new world..."

"Then You're going to love it here." Corrin chuckled as they reach the door and enter the throne room where Ryoma was waiting. "Hey there, Ryoma."

"Ah, Corrin. It's good to see you my brother." Ryoma smiled as he nodded.

'This is Ryoma?" Rean look at surprise as he see Ryoma's first glance.

"I was surprised that you suddenly came to visit Hoshido. Is it a family visit?" Ryoma asked

"Well part of it. But mostly because I wanted to show my new friend here." Corrin turn to Rean.

"A-Ah." Rean then do his noble etiquette. "It's a pleasure to meet you, King Ryoma. My name is Rean Schwarzer."

"It's a pleasure to meet you, Rean Schwarzer. There's no need to feel tense. A friend of Corrin is a friend of mine." Ryoma walk down the throne and then offer to shake his hand.

"Oh, thank you, Your Majesty." Rean said as he take his hand and shook it. 'He's so... dignified. He kinda reminds of Lord Arseid.'

"Hm? Is something wrong?"

"Oh, no it's nothing. I couldn't help but admire you. You have this aura of a noble warrior spirit."

Ryoma chuckled. "I'm honored that you would say that. Judging from your clothes... are you perhaps from Valla? No... perhaps someone from another world?"

"Right. Rean is from another world called Zemuria. I haven't been there myself but Rean told me it's a nice place." Corrin said. "Of course, it has their own monster problems."

"Monsters you say?" Ryoma rub his chin and then he stare at Rean. "Hm?"

"Is something the matter, Your Majesty?"

"I couldn't help but notice two things. That weapon you're carrying. Is that a Tachi?"

"Oh, yes. This is my weapon in combat. I'm a student of the Eight Leaves One Blade school. A type of swordplay of draws elements from the east."

"Is that so? I'm curious about the Eight Leaves now." Ryoma mused. "The other thing is... I sense some sort of... power within you. A dark power of sorts."

"..!" Rean eye widen.

"Thought so. Had a feeling you would notice." Corrin said.

"Perhaps I should expect that you would sense it, Your Majesty..."

"At ease, Rean. I didn't mean to make you feel nervous. I know Corrin won't introduce someone with dark intentions. And I can tell you're a noble character who has some dark powers. But power doesn't define a person. It's the person who define themselves. And sometimes combat can also define a person's soul. Speaking of that, would you care to spar with me?"

"Y-Your Majesty?" Rean look surprised.

"Are you sure, Ryoma?" Corrin asked

"Of course. It's nothing but a friendly spar." Ryoma smiled. "I'm quite curious about your friend too. I have a feeling we're going to be good friends."

"Then... it's an honor to duel with you, Your Majesty. Truth be told. I would also like to learn from Hoshido."

"Then it seems we have much to discuss."

End of Flashback...

"So that's how it happened?" Musse asked.

"Yeah. Ryoma is truly on a whole other level with his skills with the katana. I can see why he's a Swordmaster Class." Rean nodded. "His skills are polish, refine, and houses the spirit of a warrior who been through countless battles. I can learn a lot from him. Thinking about it back then. I stood no chance against him. And maybe even now I feel like he's still levels above me."

"Even through you're a Divine Blade?" Altina asked

"I'm still don't feel like I deserve that title."

"Oh, Instructor. Your modesty is really something." Musse giggled. "Still, King Ryoma really help you out a lot, did he not."

"Yeah. I owe so much to him for helping me hone further of my skills. Helped me gain a better control of the ogre power, and his wisdom affected me greatly. It feels like I have another master."

"I'm sure King Ryoma would be happy to hear that. So do you feel better that you understand more of your power?"

"Yeah. As Palutena, Ryoma and Zhognli said. It's my own power that reflects my soul." Rean smiled

"That's good then. Then I also hope that you don't go back to that habit of sacrificing yourself."

"Indeed. I heard that the first time you lost control of your power was here in Ymir. Because you were trying to protect Elise from a ferocious monster on the path behind the village." Musse recalled.

"Found out about that, huh?" Rean nervous smile. "Still, I'm afraid that's just who I am. I can't promise that I won't endanger myself for those I care about again— and Elise isn't the only one that's true for."

"Your perspective is logical in theory. But those who make such sacrifice don't understand just how painful they can be for those they mean to protect. Especially when they leave you alone..." Altina said, referring to Millium's sacrifice. "I'm sorry, I didn't mean to bring that up. Besides, she came back thanks to Palutena, ao I have plenty of time to punish her for what she did."

Musse giggled. "I'm sure you mean thank her for what she did,"

"Incorrect." Altina look away as she blushed. "A-Anyway... I want you to keep watching over me, Instructor. There's still so much I have to learn from you. So I won't let you disappear. I won't let you leave me. "

Rean blinked but smiled. "I won't leave you. Don't worry. I think I'm about to get out. What about you two?"

"We'll stay in here a little longer." Musse answered.

"We still have the issue of your obsession with your sister to discuss." Altina replied, causing Rean to frown.

"Now I'm really leaving." Rean said as he get back on his feet, dry and put on his boots and take off.

Reah headed to the Phoenix Wing and from there, he spotted Levi and Venti together, but they seem to be chatting with two familiar people.

"Wow. I really didn't expect that you two would be here." Levi smiled.

"Seriously. But it's very good to see you." Venti smiled

"Levi, Venti." Rean called out to them as he approached

"Oh hey, Rean. Good timing." Levi smiled.

"Hey Rean!" A voice said as Rean turn and had an ! over his head and see Amia and Lumera.

Amia's Casual outfit is pastel pink and a velvet red underneath. She wears a blue casual wears blue shirts with a red velvet shorts. Long white socks that reaches her thighs and wearing brown sneakers.

Lumera's casual clothes is she's wearing gray reefer jackets. She wears a white shirt underneath a sky blue shirt. She wears black trousers with black shoes.

"Amia, Queen Lumera!" Rean gasped.

"Rean, it's so good to see you again!" Amia smiled as Emblem Rean appeared next to her.

"Hello me. Nice to see you're doing okay." Emblem Rean smiled.

"It is wonderful to see you, Rean. Who would have imagine that we would meet in your hometown." Lumera smiled.

"It's so good to see the both of you. I didn't know you three were in Ymir." Rean smiled. "What brings you here?"

"Well for a Mother and Daughter time. Of course, Prince Fogado is also here but he's somewhere in Ymir as we speak." Lumera answered.

"Yeah. We came out of the hot springs. Ahh. It was really refreshing." Amia stretch out her arms. "What about you, Rean? What are you and the others doing here?"

"If you ask me, I'm guessing its either a field trip or something else." Emblem Rean said.

"Well you're almost there. But we were invited by a friend of ours. And our principal said this is a 'speical assignment.' So to speak." Rean answered.

"Yeah, we have no clue on what's going on or this assignment is about. But someone else have to explain the details." Levi said.

"Is that so? I hope it's nothing serious." Emblem Rean said.

"Who can say for sure. So where's Alear?" Venti asked.

"He's over in Crossbell with Seadall and Veyle." Amia answered

"They're over at Crossbell?" Levi asked.

"Yep. I recall there was a signing ceremony for Crossbell's independence. We were actually planning on visiting there ourselves."

"But we lost track of time and end up having much fun with our Mother-Daughter Time. Every memory I made is priceless. I can't thank you all enough for coming and saving our world. Including rescuing me too. And even somehow restore the life I sacrifice to my children. If even it means I have some help to make sure both of them survive." Lumera smiled.

"We're glad we came to Elyos. And we're even glad to save you too." Venti smiled

"Although it was Noel who rescue you though." Rean said.

"Right. I wonder how that young man is doing." Lumera wondered.

"Who can say for sure. Ymir is one of my favorite places. Not just the environment and the people here. But also for Rean too. His home is so beautiful that I want to protect this beautiful home. Just like I want to protect this world. It's very important to me. Just with all of you." Levi smiled.

"Levi." Rean smiled.

"Hehe. As expected of my brother who adores his man." Venti chuckled.

"I can understand how he feels. So I share the sentiment." Amia smiled.

"As am I." Lumera smiled.

"Haha. We're glad you're here, Queen Lumera. Amia. Me. Wait. Does Mom and Dad know you're here?" Rean asked

"Yeah. We were here yesterday." Emblem Rean said.

"I see. In that case, I should continue wander around for a bit. I hope your time in Ymir is just as memorable as Elyos and beyond." Rean smiled as he took off as he headed to Plover Goods & Souvenirs.

"Lord Rean!" A man spoked to him. "You're home! How're things at the school?"

"Really busy as we prepare for the school years, but super fulfilling." Rean answered with a smile. "How're things going here, Lio?"

"Same old, same old. You see how my wife is, right? Are you going to be sticking around for long? I'll handle all your orbment modification and weapons upgrade needs."

"Thanks a lot."

"Oh, before I forget. Have you heard that the ARCUS Alpha got an upgrade?"

Rean nodded. "Yeah, the Reinford Group got in touch with us. I heard the slots got a boost?"

Lio nodded. "Correct. You can strengthen them up to a third stage now, allowing for the insertion of even more powerful quartz." He pull out a blue Quartz and 150 Elements Sepiths of 150. "I actually got a sample from RF Group. It's yours if you want to see how it works. After strengening the slots with this sepith, you should be able to plug the quartz in."

Rean takes it. "Thank you for everything."

"No need for thanks. I'm just happy to see you again Since you're home and all, make sure to get some R&R."

"Of course. So let's do the upgrade, shall we?" Rean smile

"I was hoping you'll say that." He said as he handed the Selpths and Quartz back and handed him the ARCUS Alpha and begin upgrading it for a minute or so. "All right! All done!" He handed Rean back his ARCUS Alpha.

"Thanks Lio. I'll be sure to tell Levi and my students to upgrade theirs." Rean smiled as he take off.

"Well, if isn't Rean!" The woman in the counter clapped her hands with joy. "Welcome back!"

"Long time no see, Camilla. You look well." Rean smiled

"What's that? I look young and my complexion is person? You-sweet-talker!"

Rean nervous smile. "haha. You really haven't changed. "

"Aw, come on! That's not true. I've been in the rare item business lately. Speaking of which, have you heard about this?" She pull out fishing equipment. "It's Lakelord's newest finishing gear. I ordered way too many sets. And then on top of that, they sent me new rods and parts as a bonus! Care to take 'em off my hands?"

"Um, are you sure?"

"Of course! I'm sure this stuff would be much better used in the hands of a knowledgeable fisherman like you." She handed over the new fishing equipment.

"Whoa, this is a lot. Thank you so much." Rean smiled as he takes them. "No need for thanks. I just like seeing you happy! I'll be running the shop as usual, so feel free to drop in whenever!"

"Will do." Rean nodded. 'Fishing, huh? It's starting to warm up a little, so it's the perfect time to cast a line in a mountain stream. I should give it a whirl once I have some free time.' He turn his head and see Juna. "Hey, Juna. Looking to grab a souvenir?"

"Yeah, for my family, Oh, and for Jessica and Louise as well." Juna answered. "This place sells all sorts of rare stuff. It kinda reminds me of Nyo-sui-am Imports. And there's also that shop in Toad Town, Inazuma District."

"They both carry Eastern, it's true." Rean smiled. "Since a lot of their stuff comes from the Republic and Inazuma, they were out of stock last year. But now things are finally back to normal. Although Toad Town on the other hands are doing okay"

"Can't say I'm surprised about the Mushroom Kigndom. But thank goodness trades has recovered."

"Agreed." Rean smiled as he was thinking for a moment.

"W-What is it, Instructor?"

"Nothing. I just thought you'd be more on edge today. You're surprisingly calm I mean, today's—"

"The signing ceremony in Crossbell. Yeah. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't thinking about it. There's a part of me that wants to be home for such a monumental occasion. But I'd feel kinda left out if I was the only one who didn't get to come to Ymir. I belong to Class VII."

"Juna." Rean smiled. "By the way, I heard something from Randy. He told me you played a big part in Operation" Liberate Crossbell last month."

"Oh! Um... Heh. It wasn't that big a deal. I just helped Lloyd and the others a teeny bit." Juna replied.

"Hey... Are you really okay with staying at the branch campus?" Rean asked. "It's the end of the school year, so you should've been able to transfer back to Crossbell like Randy. Heck, I bet they'd love to have you at the police academy again."

Juna sulking. "So you want me gone, then?

"N-No, that's not what—"

Juna laughed. "I'm just messing with you." She casually wrap her arms behind her back. "It's true that I regret not being able to properly graduate from the police academy. But right now, my time at the branch campus is even more important. I said it earlier. It's where I belong. Anyway, everything I learned at Thors is sure to be useful in the future. Wherther it's for myself, ot to help strengthen the relationship between Crossbell and the Empire. I'm going to be counting on you to teach me the good stuff, Instructor!"

"You have yourself a deal. Better get that brain of your ready."

"Will do."

"All right, I'll be heading out now. Later, Juna." Rean said as he leaves the door and then walk to the balcony where Kurt and his Empoleon are watching the mountains.

"The scenery here truly is spectacular. Right Empoleon?" Kurt asked

"Empoleon." Empoleon nodded.

"It sure is." Rean smiled as he joined the conversation. "I've lived here most of my life, and I'm still not tired of it. It's just a shame it doesn't last all year. Once the snow's gone, that's all."

"Still, I'm sure it's just replaced by the equally unique beauty of another season." Kurt said

"You're not wrong there. You're more than welcome to visit again in another season if you want to see."

"I'd like that very much. Did you once practice your swordmanship here?"

"Sort of. It was further up the mountain, to be specific. Master Ka-fai and I spent about a month living out in the wilderness while he trained me intensively."

Kurt rub his chin. "Interesting. I've heard the Arseid school does a similar thing. Perhaps it's an Eastern manner of training that the Arseids later adopted?"

Rean hummed. "It's true that Eastern martial arts emphasize becoming one with nature. But I think in my case it was just because Master Ka-fai believed it to be effective. Securing good to eat and a place to sleep every day was hard enough, but sometimes he would even set monsters on me. Thinking back, I had to do some crazy stuff to make it through in one piece. "

"And you're a glutton for punishment." Kurt chuckled. "I shudder to think of what you must have gone through."

Rean sweatdrop, giving a deadpan look. "Ouch. Is that how you see me?"

"Haha. Forgive me. I didn't mean for it to come across quite so rudely. Still, perhaps I should try training in the mountain myself."

"I apologize if I'm assuming wrongly here, but..." Rean folds his arms. "Are you feeling frustrated with your progress?"

"Oh no, I'm not..." He said, although he was lying as he looked gloomed. "No, I suppose you're right."

"I'm happy to lend an ear if there's something you want to talk about."

"All right, then. This isn't a new concern of mine, but it's something I was reminded of when we were introduced ourselves to your parents. Juna and Altina have grown significantly since I first met them. And not just them. The same could be said for Ash, Musse, Venti, and all the rest of the students at the academy. They've all matured significantly in the year since we all enrolled. But then there's me. I don't feel like I've grown all that much at all. I continue to train every day, and I do feel as though I'm improving... I'm just a little frustrated by the pace."

"Empol..." Empoleon close his eyes.

Rean blinked. "I think you only feel that way because you're more capable than most."

Kurt tilt his head. "What do you mean?"

"In other words, you expect more of yourself than most people do. When you put your bar for success so high, it's only natural it's going to be harder to surpass it. That's just reality."

"But that makes it sound as if I've got barely any room for improvement."

"Empol." Empoleon shook his head. "Empoleon, Empol."

"Hm? Are you trying to say I'm wrong?"

"Empoleon." He nodded.

"Yeah. I agree with Empoleon. And I believe he's trying to say it's going to be more difficult for you to make significant progress than before, but you've been overcoming that for a while. Last year, you faced off against Prince Cedric, and overcome many trials before that. Like with Organization XIII. They're the most difficult trial we have. And we managed to survive by defying fate. Course, reversing the hands of time by Sothis, but you weren't content to rest on your laurels. In the sixth months since, you've never stopped working to better yourself."

"Empol." Empoleon nodded in agreement.

"I think me and Empoleon think you're the only one who can't see how much progress you've made. As your Instructor, I know better than anyone just how much you've improved. So... have confidence in yourself, Kurt. Empoleon and your other Pokemon will agree with me in this one."

Kurt nodded as he smiled. "Thank you, Instructor. And thank you Empoleon."

"Empoleon." Empoleon smiled.

"Of course, don't take that as me telling you to be content with how you are and to stop trying."

"Heh. I wouldn't dream of it. I have no intention of slowing my pace. At least, not until I've surpassed you." Kurt smirked

"Empoleon!" Empoleon smirked

"Wow. Sounds like I have a good reason to keep bettering myself, then." Rean chuckled. "Well, I'm going to get going, but we have the Phoenix Wings to ourselves today. Speaking off. I ran into Amia and Queen Lumera a moment ago."

"They're here in Ymir?" Kurt asked

"Yeah. For some Mother and Daughter time. Alear is in Crossbell with Seadall for the independence ceremony."

"I see. I should stop by and say hello."

"They're by the Phoenix Wing. And speaking off, I'd recommend you take the chance to relax in the hot springs while you have it." Rean smiled

Kurt nodded. "That sounds wonderful. I might stay here a moment with Empoleon to collect my thoughts and then head over."

"All right. Cya then, Kurt." Rean said as he took off and see Ash with his Skeledirge chatting with Fogado in his casual clothes.

Fogado is wearing a black jacket with fur. underneath is a black shirt, and underneath was a white shirt. He wears black trousers with a brown belt. He wears brown boots.

"Hey there, Ash, Prince Fogado." Rean called out to them as he approached them.

"Rean, my man! How you've been?" Fogado asked.

"Good. I ran into Amia and Queen Lumera. I was surprised to see you guys here."

"Well your Emblem self did tell us about this hot spring paradise you call your hometown so why not? I would love to spend time with my girl. But I don't wanna ruin the Mother and Daughter bonding time so I wanna see what I should do. I've notice there are a lot of snow left down this way."

"Well, we don't generally use this path. So there's no point in removing any of the snow that builds up here. It just to stay until it melts."

"Guess it makes sense if you've got the cable car anyway." Ash said.

"True. But I did hear something about a sport where you slide down the mountain. I think it was snowboarding if I recall." Fogado said.

"Oh yeah. I heard something about usin' a special board to ride all the way down to the bottom of the mountain. I figure there's gotta be enough snow here to do it, right?"

"Though I'm thrilled that you're both so interested in snowboarding, that would really be a bad idea." Rean replied.

"Why?" Fogado asked

"Let me guess. 'Ooh, Ash, most of the snow's already melted, you're gonna die a horrible death' or something?" Ash asked. "Well, screw that. Life's no fun without a bit of risk."

"Of that, we can agree, my man."

Rean sighed. "To be fair, you did hit most of what I was going to say... But yeah, there's no chance I'll let either of you snowboard in this."

"Man, that sucks..." Fogado sighed as he shrug. "Oh well as they say."

"If you both really want to give snowboarding a try, I would recommend you visit DK Summits. That place is filled with snow. Even during summer. I can even teach you both myself about snowboarding when we're there."

"Oh, that a nice offer Rean. I'll gladly take you up on that." Fogado smiled.

"Hah. I'd surpass you in no time flat." Ash smirked.

"I'd like to see you try." Rean smirked. "I'll have you know I'm at the top of the leaderboards for every course here, DK Summits, Mount Wario, and other places I could name."

Ash sweatdrop while Fogado chuckled. "Man, when you get hooked on something, you really do get hooked, huh?"

"Well, what did you expect? This is Rean's home we're talking about." Fogado pointed out. "Snowboarding is a thing here in the winter so there's no doubt he got some skills from snowboarding every winter. It wouldn't surprised me if snowboard some other places outside of Erebonia."

"Suppose so. But I'm from Raquel. I grew up gamblin' to food on the table. There ain't a game I can't win. I'm not afraid to embarrass Schwarzer here on his own turf or any other places."

"Well, that sounds like a channelge to me." Rean chuckled. "Can't wait to see who comes out on top. Just remember that you're not allowed to bet anything on the outcome unless we do it after you graduate, Ash."

"Bah. You and your damn rules." Ash smirked.

"Well, I'll get out of your hair. Later Ash. Fogado." Rean said as he takes off and then headed to the Valley's Echo Tavern.

"Well, well. Look who's back!" A middle age man called out as Rean approach the counter. "Glad to see you're doing well, Rean."

"Haha, likewise. You're in as good a mood as ever, Gerald." Rean smiled. "And I can see why! You've got quite a few customers for this time of the year."

"Yeah. Right after the war ended, hardly anyone was coming in. Looks like things are finally getting back to normal. Since tension between the neighboring nations have calmed down a bit, we're getting even more guests than usual. Nothing beats the time of peace."

"You've got that right."

"Now, then. Since you're here and all... How about I teach you one of our recipes?"

"You mean one of your secret dishes? Are you sure about this, Gerald?"

"Of course. You all use recipe books, too, right? If you jot down one of my specials, you'll be able to prepare it whenever you want." He offered a recipe with food ingredients. "Here, help yourself. A recipe for one of my specials and the ingredients to whip it up."

Rean takes them. "The ingredients as well? Really, this is much too kind!"

"I don't get to see you as often as I'd like, so let me at least do this much. I know you're keeping plenty busy out there, but take care of yourself and make sure you're eating right."

Of course. I'll take that to heart." Rean smiled as he takes off. "I've gotten so used to springs everywhere else that the cold here's got me feeling like it's still winter. Think I might take that advise I gave to Kurt and soak in the hot springs." He said as he headed to the Phoenix Wing.

He talk to the staff there and then begin to get dress later on and head to the springs.

'It looks like someone got here before me. Maybe it's Kurt or Levi?' He thought as he head inside and then see Claire and Amia chatting. "M-Major? And Amia?" He blushed. "I'm sorry. I wouldn't have come in if I'd known you two were here."

"Is that you, Rean?" Amia asked as she turn her head. "Wait, this is an...unisex bath, right?"

"Well... sort of but... Why don't you come into the water? You must be cold standing there. We haven't had a chance to talk in quite some time." Claire suggested.

'True. We're long overdue for a talk.' He thought. "Well, if you're comfortable with it, then I'd love to." He thought as he headed to take a dip of the hot springs and sit behind Claire and Amia.

(BGM ended)

(Trails into Reverie ost - Raindrop in the Wind)

"I've notice you two are chatting before I've come in. Are you two acquainted?" Rean asked

"That's right. I met Claire awhile ago when I was with Erabonia. It was... somewhere in late February, right?"

"That's right. I was pursuing a criminal when you in the area. And you swoop in and took down the criminal with one blow. I would assume you were a new bracer." Claire smiled

"Oh yeah, I remember that. And I remember the reaction when Emblem Rean appeared."

Flashback...

Emblem Rean appeared, looking surprise. "Is that you, Major?"

Claire have an ?! over her head. "Wha—?! W-Wait... Rean?! That form!"

"You know her, Rean?" Amia asked

"That's right. She's a friend of mine." Emblem Rean nodded

"R-Rean... are you a ghost?" Claire covered her mouth as tears come out as she fell to her knees. "Oh, Aidios...!"

"Wait, Major, it's not what it looks like! Well, technically, you're right that I'm a spirit but—"

"Oh Aidios what happened to you?! Who done this?!" Claire shout, causing some attention.

"Wait! This is a misunderstanding! This is Rean but this is Emblem Rean!" Amia exclaimed.

"H-Huh? A-An Emblem? Wait... I think I heard that name before."

"Emblems are spirits of heroes from another world." Emblem Rean explain. "I'm Emblem Rean. The real Rean Schwarzer is still alive here."

"Emblem... Rean..." Claire got back on her feet. "Wait... I think Millium said something like this. About another version of Rean from another world... wait, you're him?!"

"That's right. I'm not the Rean you know, but I do inherit his being. But he's not dead. Just think of it as a divine spirit who copy his everything while the real Rean is still alive."

"A copy..." Claire blinked and then express a sigh of relief. "Oh thank Aidios! I thought you became just like Millium during the Great Twilight... Wait... that would raise further question if the Great Twilight is over..."

"Um, Major. Maybe we should explain everything... after we find somewhere else. Your outburst cause a...commotion."

Claire turn around and see that he's right, causing her to blush.

End of Flashback...

"I have never felt so embarrassed in my life after that..." Claire muttered. "Again, I'm so sorry about that, Princess Amia."

"Ah, don't worry about it. In your defense, you experience something like this but in a horrible way." Amia shake it off. "After that, we got to chatting and we became good friends. After that, we got in touch with Millium and the there of us have been hanging out whenever both of them are free."

"I see. I had no idea that happened." Rean rub his chin. "But I can understand the misunderstanding. So Major, Dad mentioned how the RMP must be really busy now. How are you holding up? You aren't overworking yourself, are you?" Rean asked

"Thank you for your concern, but please part that worry out of your mind." Claire smiled. "My work sometimes comes with unexpected benefits—like being able to visit the hot springs here, for instance."

"Haha. I suppose that is true."

"The RMP is being restructured after being reconstructed by the EAF's attack, and having its military capacity downsized at the same time, so I can't deny that I am busy. But that's true for so many others now. I don't think I have a right to complain."

"I understand the reconstructed part but what do you mean 'being restructured?'. Does this relate to how the RMP and the Intelligence Division won't answer directly to the government anymore?" Rean asked

Claire nodded. "Yes. Because of that, we aren't going to have the kind of freedom we used to. But I believe that we'll still be able to protect the people of Erebonia in a different way than the military, like before."

"I see... The RMP isn't being rolled into the army, though, right?"

"Correct—although that possibility was being considered at one point. In the end, it didn't happen, thanks in part to General Vandyck and Provisional Government Head Regnitz It's not impossible that it could lead to a power struggle in the future, unfortunately... But I believe the Empire needs something with a chain of command separate from the army that can serve as a deterrent."

"To avoid power gathering in one place again, you mean?" Rean asked.

"Exactly." Claire glace to Rean. Thors and its graduate, myself included, are expected to serve as another kind of deterrent as well. The reason being that the school's students and teachers alike exert influence in various fields, and have all kind of connections."

"I see... As someone charged with helping raise the next generation of Thors students, I suddenly feel even more pressure."

Claire giggled. "As you should! We're all counting on you." She then had a moment of thinking before turning around. "By the way, Rean..."

"Uhh, yes?"

"This feels very overdue, but I wanted to thank you."

Rean turns and tilts his head. "For what?"

"For all you did during the Rivalries, for all you did for Millium, for facing me head-on.. and for granting His Excellency's true wish." Mere words feel woefully insufficient given all you've done. But I also didn't want my gratitude to go unspoken."

"That's very kind, but you really didn't have to. I was just doing what I wanted to do—and I couldn't have done it alone."

Claire giggled. "That's about what I expected you'd say."

Rean scratches his cheeks. "This might sound kind of sappy... but I feel like it was worth it all just to see you smile again."

"Heh." Claire looked away as she blushed a bit. "You really are oblivious to how you sound sometimes. I just hope Levi doesn't get the wrong idea."

Amia began to let out a snicker as she covered her mouth.

"Is something funny, Amia?" Rean asked.

"No. I'm sorry. Altina was right about you. She told me that you are a man who knows his way of words, words that are so corny that he is so bold enough to say in front of people without realizing how darling they are. And it almost sounds like he was flirting too, which causes a lot of girls and friends to be irritated and jealous."

Rean sweatdrops while chuckling as she covers her mouth.

"That sounds exactly like Altina would say." Claire chuckled. Then she looks serious. "Jokes and thanks aside... there's something I wanted to ask you, too."

"What is it?"

"Are you truly happy right now, Rean?"

"Of course I am. Busy, certainly— but I am happy. I still can't believe we made it through the Great Twilight. Then again, we managed to countless villains who are just as terrifying as well as powerful with all sort of resources."

(Trails into Reverie ost - A Moment of Warmth)

"Like with Bowser during the first time we enter the Mushroom Kingdom. Cackletta, The Shroobs. Then we have Fawful who survived and planning his revenge with the Dark Star. After that. It was Those Who Slither in the Dark in a warzone. Then there's Grima who became a Dragon God. He was just as impossible to defeat as well as Organization XIII, who unleash endless waved of Heartless, Nobodies and Unverse into a massive core. They were the toughest group that we ever faced. No... perhaps I should say the scariest of everyone I've faced. After that it was Antasma, Ganondorf from Breath of the Wild Era, stopped the Erebonia Annihilation Force from destroying Erebonia... And now defeated Sombron. Hell, we even got Millium back from the Great Twilight thanks to Palutena. Back to years ago, I was scared that we would lose Crow. But King Bowser saves him with one special mushroom to return him to life. And Millium was brought back to us thanks to Palutena who constructed her body and returned her soul back to it. I'm forever grateful to them."

Rean look up. "There were times that I feared I had to accept I would lose someone in the future. Like with the EAF attack..."

"Rean..." Claire trailed off.

"I was so afraid that they would kill you, Lechter, George, His Majesty... And all of Erebonia. I was afraid that I would lose everything. There were times that I was hoping there was a way we wouldn't lose you and them, obviously, but deep down, I know I have to brace for the inevitable one day. Death will come for us eventually. There are times I... and many others will have to say goodbyes." Rean turns to Claire. "But it's all over now, and I can still be with everyone I care about—which includes you, of course. The joy I feel about that hasn't gone anywhere."

"Rean..." Amia smiled.

"I'm glad to hear that." Claire smiled. "Still, there's a difference between being happy over something and you yourself being happy. You went through a lot during with Organization XIII and the Great Twilight, including having to say farewell to your father. Despite living in fear you would disappear or lose your friends, you came out on the other side with victory in hand. You, Rean, persevered to save us all. And I can believe that's made you happy, yes— as much as I can believe that happiness continues to cast a punishing shadow over you. Am I wrong?"

Rean blinked. "I'm speechless. You really can see right through me."

"What does she mean by that, Rean?" Amia asked.

"Let's just say a lot has been in my mind involving my happiness. Like do I still deserve that happiness, or know how to handle that happiness I felt." Rean look at the spring water. "I know it's there. I'm just not sure how to truly accept it. All the people who died on the first day of the war did so because I made the Great Twilight happen. Do I even deserve to be happy when they can't be? Or forgiven for what I did?"

"Rean..." Amia sadden.

"It may not be my place to say this... but I think you're the only one who can decide that." Claire said. "I'm sure that Levi or any of your friends you're so close and best friends with would say the same thing."

"I..." Rean sighed. "...Suppose you're right..."

"I know how you feel, because I'm in exactly the same position." She place her hand over her chest. "You were concerned earlier that I might be overworking myself. For me, I'm just trying to atone for my sins by throwing myself into my work. "

"Major, that can't be good for—"

"Don't worry. I can calculate how fat I can go as well as any number." Claire smiled. "I'm taking care not to cross the line into self-sacrifice." She turn to the water as she close her eyes with a smile on her face. "It's tempting, though. Every time I achieve something to make Erebonia's future better or see you and Millium smiling faces. I get a little closer to forgiving myself. It's not something I can do overnight. It's every moment that I can justify forgiveness, no matter how small it is, that gets me one step closer. As long as I don't falter, I'm sure I'll be able to like myself again one day."

"That's a mature way of thinking, Major." Amia smiled.

"Far from it. I'm duplicitous to a fault."

"I wonder if..."

"I don't think my approach will work for you." Clare interrupted Rean. "You're much too sincere to go tricking yourself into feeling anything other than how you feel. I know it won't be easy for you. Just... I hope you can let yourself be happy."

"Easier said then done, I'm afraid." Rean said.

"Maybe, but if you let it elude you forever... I'll always be one good deed short of being able to fully forgive myself."

Rean let out a small chuckled. "What am I even supposed to say to that?"

"I DID call myself duplicitous." Claire giggled.

"She's right." Amia nodded. "Rean. I can understand that it is tough. There's no doubt that situation would make anyone questions their value of happiness. It's what make us human. But all I can say to you is... take your time to forgive yourself. You'll find your answer shortly. I'm sure Byleth would tell you those exact words."

Rean chuckled. "You're right." He turn his head to the door. "You'll catch cold just standing around like that, you know. Why don't the three of you come and join us in the water?"

The door opened, revealing to be Juna, Musse and Altina.

"I suspected we wouldn't be able to evade your notice." Musse giggled.

"For what it's worth, I did feel kind of guilty listening in..." Juns scratching her cheeks.

"We didn't hear all of your conversation, through. Please don't worry on that count." Altina replied.

"Haha. It's on me for not watching what I said in a public space." Claire chuckled.

"Hey, Juna, Altina, Musse." Amia greeted

"Hello, Amia." Altina greeted.

'Instructor Claire is amazing.' Juna thought. 'All I end up doing is letting our instructor listen to my problems... I couldn't possibly help with his.'

"You okay, Juna?" Rean asked as Musse had a thought.

"Heehee. I suspect she's thinking about how much she would like to wash your back. Much like I once did~" Musse winked

"As if I was thinking such a—" Juna paused, giving a look of wanting answers. "Wait, You did what, now?"

"How untoward of you both." Altina comment.

"And another tale about you is right on the money." Amia nervous smile.

Rean sweatdrop. "Listen, um..."

"Heehee. You aren't going to deny the allegations, I see." Claire smiled

"Oh, Rean. You are honest as you are guilty of hiding such dirty secrets I see." Amia giggled.

"Listen, there was a very good reason for what happened—"

"Oh, I'm sure you do." A voice spoked as Levi came into the bath.

"Levi!" Rean blinked.

"But I imagine this happened before we started dating." Levi sighed. "What am I going to do with you? But let's forget about that. Let's all enjoy the hot springs, shall we?"

Later...

(Trails of Cold Steel II ost - The Warmth of Soaking One's Feet.)

"Ahhh..." Juna stretch out her arms as she, her classmates, Rean, Levi, Amia, Lumera and Fogado came out of the hot springs. "That felt amazing."

"I'm jealous you've had a place like this so close by all your life, Instructor."

"Yeah, I get why he's so addicted to hot springs, now." Ash said

"No kidding. It's way better then a bath." Fogado agreed.

"I knew you'd all come to understand in time." Rean smiled.

"Well, if everyone's sufficiently rested, I think it's about time we departed." Claire said.

"You guys are leaving already?" Amia asked.

"Yes. It's time to bring that discussion."

"Ah. So it's finally time, huh?" Levi asked. "So what's the reason for summoning us here to Ymir? I'm guessing we're heading to the valley, aren't we?"

"Correct. Please follow me." Claire nodded.

"Should we come along too?" Amia asked

"Unfortunately, you can't. May I request you, Prince Fogado and Queen Lumera stay here in Ymir?"

"Hm. I suppose we can. If it is their affairs, so outsiders like us are unwanted." Lumera said.

"That's a shame. But oh well." Fogado sighed. "Well, whatever the business is, I know you guys can handle it. Good luck, okay."

"We will." Venti said as Lumera, Amia and Fogado take off.

"Now then, shall we?" Claire said. "You will have all your answers soon enough." She said as they headed to Ymir Canyon.

Amia watch as they head to the valley. 'Hmm...'

And Rean's route is here! Now, for the big discussion for them.
