Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book III. Last time, Myriad started her battle against Flash, Supergirl, and Spyro. And it ended up going in her favor as she was able to outthink every move the trio made, no doubt due to the whole Myriad system backing her up. And as Supergirl, the last one standing, fell, Myriad radioed for General Luthor to prepare an exit. Meantime, we've got two other fights to get to. So let's not waste a moment. Here we go.
(Our scene picks up as Malefic J'onzz is about to square off with Martian Manhunter and Sentinel. At first, things don't appear to be moving very fast, as the two Martians try to outthink each other. But soon, Martian Manhunter is confident and makes the first move, turning into a serpentine creature as Malefic J'onzz responds in kind. Soon the two are battling it out while Sentinel delivers energy blasts to Malefic J'onzz from her Hand of the Soldier weapon. But after a moment, it doesn't appear to be going well. As Malefic J'onzz gets tired to Sentinel's attacks from behind, swiping her aside with his serpentine form's tail, throwing her against a wall.)
Martian Manhunter: Alex!
(While his brother is distracted, Malefic J'onzz scratches him across the face with his Dark Gem infused gauntlets, leaving a burning scar and Martian Manhunter in incredible pain)
Malefic J'onzz: Myriad wasn't kidding! These things are awesome!
(As Malefic J'onzz continues to pound his brother's face in, Sentinel gets back to her feet and devises a plan. Admittedly it's a hasty one, but it's the only one she's got. She rushes back into the brawl, supercharging the Hand of the Soldier and plunges the energy point into Malefic J'onzz, sending a massive shockwave up his spine, shocking him out of his serpentine morph. Martian Manhunter resumes his standard form soon afterwards)
Martian Manhunter: Nice moves, Alex.
Sentinel: Don't thank me yet, Director. He's not down yet.
Malefic J'onzz: You got that right, kid!
(Getting back in the fight, Malefic J'onzz assumes his standard Martian form and socks Sentinel across the jaw, the Dark Gems burning her too but less severely than Martian Manhunter, the latter of whom grabs Malefic J'onzz from behind, holding him in some sort of wrestling grip)
Martian Manhunter: Brother, you have to stop this!
Malefic J'onzz: This is my only chance to restore Mars! I thought if anyone would understand that, it would be you!
Martian Manhunter: Malefic, if you were infected by this plague that ravaged your Mars, I would have stopped at nothing to save you.
Malefic J'onzz: Don't try to sweet talk me, J'onn!
Martian Manhunter: Then I won't talk. I'll show you!
(With that, Martian Manhunter hits Malefic J'onzz with a psychic attack, reminding him of their bond as brothers, or at least of the bond he shared with his world's version of him. And surprisingly, Malefic J'onzz has a tear rolling down his cheek by the end of it. Sentinel sees this as her moment and tries to sock him the gut, but Malefic J'onzz breaks out of the psychic hold, throwing Martian Manhunter against the back wall and outfighting Sentinel, soon holding her by the throat as Martian Manhunter responds)
Malefic J'onzz: One step closer and I'll crush her throat. You of all people will know I'm not bluffing.
(Martian Manhunter knows Malefic J'onzz is telling the truth. He's not bluffing. And there's seemingly no way to end this battle without Sentinel dying. As if to tell Martian Manhunter he doesn't have time to think, Malefic J'onzz starts squeezing Sentinel's throat, almost crushing her wind pipe by the time Martian Manhunter makes up his mind)
Martian Manhunter: Alright! Enough. I surrender.
(Knowing Martian Manhunter isn't bluffing somehow, Malefic J'onzz drops Sentinel and instead delivers a powerful Dark Gem infused uppercut to Martian Manhunter, knocking him out.)
Malefic J'onzz: Good of you to see sense, brother.
(The last thing Sentinel sees before blacking out is Malefic J'onzz picking up Martian Manhunter's unconscious body and walking off towards the exit as our scene ends for today)
And that looks like a good place to end for today. Before any notes get stated, for those wondering what this serpentine form looks like, Martian Manhunter used this look all the time in the Justice League cartoon. I can't think of a specific episode at this moment, but just go back and watch that series, it's back on Netflix or on Max if you've got either of those. Maybe it's on Prime Video too, I have no idea anymore. You'll find what I'm talking about. But anyways, it looks like that's two of the new Element wielders down. We can only hope Superman is doing better against General Luthor. For more on that, tune in next time! Same time... same channel!
