Welcome back to Elemental Crisis Book III. Last time, the Assault on the D.E.O. was finalized when General Luthor finally managed to defeat Superman, Cynder, and Batwoman, capturing all three as Malefic J'onzz and Myriad rejoined him, having themselves captured Martian Manhunter, Supergirl, Flash, and Spyro. He let them go ahead while he did something to sabotage the D.E.O. computer system, all the while secretly grabbing something for whatever he's working on. So, what awaits on the other side of the siege? Read on to discover...

(Our scene opens in darkness, but there's a subtle voice calling out, and it's a familiar one.)

Toyman: Alex? Alex, wake up!

(As the scene comes into view and Toyman becomes clearer, it becomes clear we're seeing things through Sentinel's eyes as she regains consciousness, revealing the rest of the League and the Superfriends are there.)

Sentinel: (Starting to sit up) Wha... what happened?

Dreamer: Nothing good, I'm afraid.

Sentinel: The last thing I remember is... (Recalls it) Malefic. They've got J'onn!

White Canary: Sadly, J'onn's not the only one. They got Kara and Clark too.

Black Lightning: Not just them. Barry, Ryan, Spyro, and Cynder are gone too. Wouldn't surprise me one bit if Myriad and her crew took them all.

Sentinel: We've got to find them!

Guardian: Keep yourself calm, chief. We've got Brainy and Lena tracking our friends down as we speak.

(With that, the scene turns to the main D.E.O. computer, where Brainiac 5 and Lean Luthor are working at it)

Brainiac 5: If my review of the surveillance tapes is correct, knowing that Myriad is controlled by a Coluan intelligence, I should be able to locate her easily.

Lena Luthor: And if that falls through, there's always tracking their Luthor's suit. Luthor tech is Luthor tech, no matter what universe you're in.

Sentinel: Let's hope you're right.

Toyman: Trust me, Brainy over there never let the Legion down, he won't fail us.

Brainiac 5: It is statistically unlikely that I will fail, Winn. The odds of failure are never zero.

(As Brainiac 5 continues scanning for any other Coluan intelligence out there, Lena Luthor runs a backup search for General Luthor's Warsuit, but that's when she notices a specific line of code in the system.)

Lena Luthor: (Looks closer at the code) What the...?

(And with a gaze of wide eyed surprise, Lena Luthor notices what the code says. "What's The Magic Word?" And this is apparently not good news to her)

Lena Luthor: Disconnect from the system and shut it down!

Brainiac 5: (A bit confused) What is the reason for this?

Lena Luthor: Just trust me!

(Brainiac 5 attempts to stop his search, but that's when the entire system starts to spark as General Luthor's face fills the screen)

General Luthor: (Via the program) You didn't say the magic word!

(And as the program laughs manically, the entire system shorts out just as Brainiac 5 is able to disconnect from it)

Sentinel: What was that?!

Lena Luthor: LuthorCorp shutdown code. A little software package that bricks the system completely if the proper code isn't entered. Usually they're a lot more discreet, but I guess this version of Lex is a film buff. Thank goodness I rewatched Jurassic Park lately.

Guardian: So now we've got no way to track the others?

Brainiac 5: There may be a way. We can use the system back at the Tower. But it has nowhere near the computing power of the D.E.O.

White Canary: (Getting an idea) What if we hooked it up to the Waverider's onboard systems? Gideon ought to give your machine the boost it needs.

Brainiac 5: That is feasible.

Black Lightning: At this rate, it's not like there's not much more we can lose. I say we try it.

Toyman: Hope somebody's got a key to J'onn's office.

Sentinel: Flower pot to the right of the door.

Dreamer: Or call Mxyzptlk if that doesn't work.

White Canary: Alright then folks, let's get moving.

(With a new objective in mind, the group takes off from the ruined D.E.O. headquarters as our tale ends for today)

And that looks like a good place to end for now. So, now we know what General Luthor left behind, a piece of code to brick the D.E.O. systems. Good thing there's no metahumans, aliens, or 5th Dimensional Imps locked up there right now to worry about, evidently. But will this plan of linking the Tower and the Waverider work? And more importantly, if that's what General Luthor left behind, what did he take with him? One of those questions will be answered soon. So be sure to tune out to find out which!
