T'Soni-Shepard Military Academy 2216CE -Asari Alpha Dorm Room
It was mid-morning, Milizkia and her squad were lounging on their beds, talking when they heard several quick knocks on the door. The girls looked at each other then at the door, and before anyone could get up to answer the door, there were several more quick knocks. Lesor pinched her brows then called out "Ok, ok we're coming!" then hopped off her bed and walked down the hall to answer the door.
Milizkia gave a quick laugh, "Lesor, I already know who it is."
Lesor turned right before she got to the door, "Who?"
"That would be Anna T'Soni-Shepard." Replied Milizkia
Lesor pinched her brow markings "How would you know that?"
They heard another round of knocks at the door.
"That's how her impatient ass knocks on the door. Just open it, I want to see if my guess is correct." Replied Milizkia
Lesor opened the door and saw two asari standing there. She looked at the light blue asari smiling at her then Anna said: "Hey, what's up?"
Lesor blinked as she look at the other light blue asari than back at Anna then said, "Uhh Hey…"
The young asari extended her hand, "I'm Anna T'Soni-Shepard this is my sister Benezia." As she shook her hand, she looked beyond her into the dorm and said. "Is ahhhh…. Mili in here…. I mean T'Loak?" Before Lesor could answer, Anna cupped her hands over her mouth and said "Taaa Looowww-ka! You in there?"
"Yea, I'm back here!" yelled Milizkia.
Anna chuckled as she walked by Lesor then she stopped and stepped back out "It's ok if we come in, right?" she said as she looked at Lesor.
Lesor nodded her head as she smiled "Uh yea, sure."
"Ok, cool" Anna replied, as she walked through the entrance of the dorm room, she looked around at the small living area. Their living room had a couch and two single lounge chairs, a coffee table, and a side table. Their tiny kitchen shared the living room space of one of the walls. The kitchen had a counter, a small sink, a small fridge, and a couple of cabinets. She walked the long hallway toward the bedroom and on the left was a room with three sinks, a few cabinets, cubby holes with baskets and open cubby holes with nicely folded towels and linens. She reached the last stretch of the hallway, on the right was a large open bedroom and on the left was the bathroom. When she walked into the room, Milizkia was laying on her bed.
Anna smiled then said, "What's up, bitches?" The girls gave her a look then looked around at the other girls.
Milizkia hopped off her bed and gave her a quick one-armed hug then looked at her squad and said "Anna always says bitches don't take offense by it. We use it sporadically and jokingly because you know… we're ladies." She said then gave a quick laugh.
Anna smiled then said with a slight head bob, "That's right! Well, I'm Anna T'Soni-Shepard. Nice to meet choo… nice to meet choo—"
Benezia smiled as she looked at Milizkia then said "Hey, girl heeey! Look at you living the share everything dorm life."
Milizkia smiled then gave her a tight squeeze as she sarcastically replied "Oh, yea awesome. Its right up there with sharing a room with Anna."
Anna put her hand on her hip as she said, "What the fuck is that supposed to mean?"
Milizkia and Benezia laughed as she replied, "You know exactly what the fuck it means, bitch."
Anna waved her hand at her in disgust as she rolled her eyes then said "Whatever, bitch!"
Milizkia stared at Anna for a moment then looked at Benezia then they all three laughed. Milizkia laughed tapered off when she looked at her roommates then said "Sorry, it's kind of an inside joke."
They all looked around when they heard a chime then the security lights in the room flashed as the video screen in the room said Attention! Attention! Incoming call from headquarters! Attention! Attention! Incoming call from headquarters!
They all stood at attention and waited for the screen to change. Once Lady Liara appeared on screen she smiled then said, "Good afternoon cadets, we have a mission for you that needs your immediate attention and a resolution by 1500." She looked directly at Milizkia and said "Squad Leader, I've sent the details to your omni-tool. I need your team to gather intel then you all need to come up with a resolution. I've sent Benezia and Anna to help with the situation." Liara tapped her wrist as she said "1500 don't be late." Then the screen faded to black.
Milizkia looked down at her omni-tool as it dinged with an incoming message from headquarters then looked at the time 1310. Geez they didn't give us much time to complete this." Then she turned to Benezia and said, "What's this about?" then tapped at her omni-tool to read the message.
Benezia let out a breath then said "The majority of the squads think that the teams are unfair. And in all honesty Em with you on any squad they never will be fair. Your skills are years beyond theirs."
Milizkia huffed "So, what does that mean?"
Benezia replied "HQ has been talking about this as there are several disgruntled asari cadets. They have some ideas but want to see what we can come up with then they'll compare."
Anna shook her head and said "This is bullshit. I mean dad fucked up. He should have never told everyone who you were. I just think everyone is psyched out from it. I mean we've played in the league with several of these ladies and they never had an issue but now they do. Bullshit!"
Benezia snapped her fingers then pointed at Anna "That's exactly the problem. They are psyched out. I mean who wouldn't be, she's Aria T'Loak's kid. I bet if we make minor adjustments everyone will be fine."
Milizkia nodded "Ok, ummm. What if the other squads gain some of your knowledge or help as mentors? Ya know to alleviate the difference in skill."
Benezia and Anna nodded. "I see where you're going with that. Yea, we could definitely help out, on off times. Ok what else?" she said then looked at the other asari. "Any other input?"
Lesor stepped forward and cautiously said "Well, this is going to sting but maybe someone else should be squad leader. Because it's a mental thing, you know? The other squads see you as a threat that's leading a squad but maybe if someone else was leader then it wouldn't be such a threat."
Milizkia flared her nostrils at the thought as she clinched her jaw. She took a calming breath then said "Yea, you're right. I'll step down and one of ya'll can be squad leader."
Benezia ran a hand down Milizkia's back as she gently said, "Don't be upset, it won't stay that way."
Milizkia nodded then smiled "Yea…"
"Ok, I think this is going to work." Said Anna then pointed to Milizkia "You stay here, and we'll break off into teams and go see what the other squads think. When were done gathering then we'll head back to HQ and alpha will come back here."
Milizkia watched them all walkout, then walked back to her bed. She flopped down on her bed and sighed. Several minutes went by, then she tapped at her omni tool, and vid called her mom.
The moment her mom came into view, she saw a violet-colored asari glowing with a broad smile. "Hey, my Lizkies!"
Milizkia rolled her eyes slightly and smiled "Hey mom, No one calls me that but you."
"Well, of course not because it's my fucking nickname for you. Duh!"
She laughed. "I miss you!"
Aria gasped as she grabbed her chest "Whaaat you miss me?" she said then smiled.

Milizkia smiled, then frowned as she sighed.
Aria pinched her brow markings as her smile faded "What happened?" she said as she looked her daughter over.
She rubbed her eyes "I guess I'm not really welcome here. The other squads think it's unfair that alpha squad has me on their team. It doesn't matter what team I'm on; it'll always be uneven. We need to come up with a solution to the issue."
"What? That's bullshit. I'll call Liara right now!"
"I know it's bullshit." She bit her lip as she looked down briefly "I ummm already stepped down from squad leader."
"What! Why? You kicked Shepard's ass and earned that. You shouldn't have to give it up." Her mother said with a snarl.
"I knew you'd be proud of me the moment I received the title, and I knew you'd be disappointed when I stepped down." She said then looked away from the screen as tears trickled down her face.
Aria took a breath and pinched her brow markings when she saw that her daughter was upset. "I am proud of you. Don't you ever worry about disappointing me. I was the biggest disappointment out there at your age. You do so much more shit better than me that you impress me all the time. I mean you knocked Shepard on his fucking ass. "Hey, Em. You're golden." Replied Benezia
"Yes! What did you come up with?" She asked.
"Same plan as we discussed in the dorms. You step down temporarily as we help the others until they're on their feet. Done and done. I'm almost back at the apartment so your squad should almost be back as well. They said they would convene with you then you can discuss with mom. I'm sure mom will approve."
"Ok cool cool. Oh, check this out, I had the most bizarre conversation with my mom just a moment ago."
"What happened?" asked Benezia.
Milizkia explained to her the conversation with her mom.

Liara blinked rapidly as she tried to come up with an answer "Yes, yes, I did say that, and you should. What else did she say?"

Liara looked at her as she gently scratched the side of her crest "What about them?"
Benezia shrugged "I don't know… she said it eventually tapers off."
