This is Ace having a setback

Hope you enjoy

Read and relax

Marco looked at Ace, them sitting in the car, Marco driving. Ace seemed a bit tense, and he moved his hand to his leg. "Are you okay?" Ace nodded, looking at him. "Yeah, nothing's wrong." Marco didn't quite believe that. But, they were headed to the home now, going to be with the family for the weekend, and he needed to talk to Curiel about this. Ace had been a bit off, but he didn't know if he should be worried or not. He would try and get some private time with Curiel, so they could speak about Ace, maybe after dinner. Ace wasn't really off but he had gotten the idea that there were rats in their home, in the walls, and had him up almost all night, listening to the walls. They had moved back to their place a bit ago, maybe a month and half ago, and it had been going perfectly up until now, nothing special happening. He had been a bit worried, as it would mean Ace would be alone during the day while Marco was at work, but it had gone by fine. Ace also now only had meetings with Trafalgar every second week, on mondays. And that had gone well as well. But this was a new thing, started this Tuesday, and Ace had a meeting the coming Monday.

When they got to the home, everyone was glad to see them, and they spoke and sat together while dinner was finishing. Ace did look around himself a lot, but seemed okay when he asked. When dinner was ready, they all sat down and chatter started up again. After a bit, Marco saw Ace swallowing, before he stood up. "I'm going to the bathroom." Marco nodded and Ace left. He did seem off, a bit tense and looking around. He did send a look at Curiel, silently telling he needed to talk, and it seemed like Curiel got this. They had just started dinner, so it was a bit of time until he could speak with Curiel, and he was sure he knew what to do. The dinner then progressed normally, and after 5 minutes he looked at the empty spot beside himself. Ace wasn't back yet, he never used this much time in the bathroom. He was thinking of heading and looking, but noticed Haruta standing up, probably needing to go to the bathroom herself.

But as Haruta had been gone for under a minute, he heard someone yell. "Get away!" It had him frown as that was Ace, and the others seemed worried too and stood up, heading towards the hallway to the bathroom. He heard Ace yell 'get away' a couple more times, sounding panicked. He also could hear Haruta, asking what was wrong. Something was up, and he had a bad feeling. When they got to the hallway, he saw Ace had a broom in his hands, pointed towards Haruta, who was some feet away from Ace, Ace waving the broom around as if defending himself. When Hartua saw them, she gave a worried look. "I don't know what happened! He just started attacking me!" That wasn't good. But as Haruta had spoken to them, Ace turned towards them, and he hoped this would end. But instead of ending, Ace looked so panicked and turned the broom towards them. "Get away from me!" Yelled Ace, backing away from them. This wasn't good.

Marco took a step forward. "Ace, yoi?" Ace shook his head. "No! Get away!" Yelled Ace back, walking backwards. Marco didn't know what to do or what to say, so he felt a bit relieved when Curiel walked forward. "It's okay, Ace. You're having a delusion." Ace shook his head "No! Get away!" Ace then backed more up, and Curiel tried to approach carefully, but Ace waved his broom, and Marco had a feeling if Curiel went further, Ace would hit him. And they couldn't have that happen. Ace then looked back himself, before he looked back at them. "Get away from me!" Ace then turned and ran away from them, down the hallway. And they followed. Ace then got to the end where there was a balcony, as they followed, Ace ran out on the balcony and used the broom to jam the door's track, as it was a sliding door. They then started to knock on the window door, hoping Ace would open up and said to just open it so they could talk, but Ace started to sob as he moved to the balcony's edge, and he was actually worried if Ace would jump, so he started to yell out to just calm down, just calm down, so they could talk. But Ace started to sob out to let him be, to go away, and slid down in the corner to the balcony's floor. That was a bit good, so he didn't jump.

They then started to knock more on the window, Curiel and Jozu trying to force the door open, Curiel looking at Vista. "In my room, the second drawer on the left, in a bag named Ace, Get me that syringe." Vista nodded and ran to get that, while they tried to calm the sobbing Ace down and pry the door open, Curiel looking at Sabo. "Call 911." Sabo nodded and took his phone up and called. They then tried to calm Ace again. But after a couple minutes, Curiel got his syringe, Curiel moved his head a bit. "I am sorry Pops. but this needs to be done." Curiel then moved to the glass furthest away from Ace, and kicked it, shattering the window. Marco was glad by that, a thought he hadn't gotten. Ace then started to scream more as they were out with him, using his hands to try and fend them off, but Curiel quickly got his hands on his left arm, and Marco on his right. Curiel looked at him. "Hold his arm tight, so he can't attack." Marco nodded and did, and Curiel got his syringe from his pocket and injected the contents into Ace's shoulder. Marco didn't know what he thought, but as nothing changed, he felt worried, and Ace was fighting really hard.

As Curiel had, Curiel moved Ace so he was lying on the ground, and they held his arms down, Ace giving out a terrified scream, sobbing to let him go. Marco felt his heart breaking as Ace sounded so desperate to be let go. He thought they were dangerous. They then held Ace down, Curiel trying to talk to Ace, but nothing worked. When he heard sirens closing in, he felt relieved. Curiel looked at Haruta. "Go help them here." Haruta nodded and did, and the paramedics came quickly, Curiel starting to speak in a serious tone, obviously being a doctor right now, not a family member. The paramedics quickly got Ace on a bed and fastened his arms in restraints, Ace screaming out the entire time.

As Ace was safe, Curiel looked at him. "Come after us. I should be in the ambulance." Marco nodded, he agreed. Ace was then wheeled out and Marco ran to his car and started the ride to the hospital, to where Ace would be taken, following the ambulance. When they got to the hospital, Marco ran out and followed Ace who was being wheeled inside, and was taken to a room, where he was sedated. He was then told some things, which he didn't really grasp, before he was told he could sit with Ace, who would wake in some hours. Curiel also joined him, and said Ace would be fine, hopefully when he woke, he would be himself. But they needed to see. Curiel did leave after an hour and half, Trafalagar coming to the hospital and Curiel went to talk to him.

But after half an hour more, he heard a groan and looked over at Ace, who was waking up. Ace tried to move his hand to his head, but it was still in restraints, which Ace looked at, before he looked at him. "Marco..?" Marco noded, moving his hand to Ace's "Yes, I am here, yoi." Ace nodded, looking at his restraints, before he looked at him. "Did I have a setback..?" Marco nodded, squeezing Ace's hand. "Yes, you did. How do you feel, yoi?" Ace gave a small nod. "Okay… Foggy..." Ace tried to move his hands. "Could you take these off..?" Ace did seem fine, but he had been told to not touch them. "I'm sorry, I can't." Marco then pressed a button to call on the nurse or doctor, Trafalgar coming in after some seconds. "Ah, Ace, you're awake." Ace nodded. "Yes… can I get loose..?" Trafalgar gave a hum, "You do seem fine, but just a bit more, okay? So we can be sure you're fine." Ace gave a breath and moved to lie against the bed fully, seeming a bit upset with that.

Marco moved his hand to Ace's head. "Hey, it's okay." Ace shook his head a bit. "No, it is not… But okay..." Trafalgar moved to take a light out. "Let me just check your eyes." The doctor did, before he asked Ace to follow his finger, which he felt Ace did perfectly. The doctor nodded. "Okay. Now, I am just going to ask some questions." Ace nodded and the doctor did ask simple questions, like 'do you feel paranoid' ' do you feel someone following you or after you', and such, Ace answering them all good. When he had, Tarfalagr smiled. "Okay, good. You seem fine, so we can take these off." Then he started to unfasten the restraints, which had Ace glad. When they were off, Ace looked at his wrist, which was a bit bruised, which had Ace blink, before he looked at him. "Was it bad..?" Marco sighed, he shouldn't lie. "It wasn't easy, yoi." Ace sighed. "What did I do..?" Marco didn't know what to say, so he looked at the doctor, who spoke. "From what I've gathered, you started attacking your family with a broom, before you locked yourself out on a balcony. They had to break a door window to get you." Ace blinked, before he looked at him, and Marco nodded. "You did yoi."

Ace sighed, before he looked at him. "Who saw..?" Marco gave a comforting look. "Everyone, yoi." Ace moved his hands to his face. "Oh God..." Marco shook his head, moving his hand to Ace's. "No, it will go fine, they understand, yoi." Ace looked at him. "Do you mean that..?" Marco nodded. "If not, they will, yoi. Curiel will speak with them." Ace nodded, and gave a small smile. "Okay..." Trafalgar then looked at him. "I would like some time with Ace, if it is okay." Marco then leaned his head against Ace's. "I am right outside." Ace nodded. "Yeah, sure..." Marco nodded, before he left.

When he got to the hallway, he met Curiel, who gave a sigh. "The others are still in the waiting area. They're worried." Marco nodded. "Have you spoken with them, yoi?" Curiel shook his head. "Not yet, I am heading out now." Marco nodded. "Let's go together." Curiel nodded, and they headed out to the waiting room, where everyone was, and they looked worried. Curiel moved his hand a bit. "Ace is okay." Everyone nodded, and Thatch stammered a bit. "W-what was that?" Curiel sighed. "What psychosis looks like at times. Everyone fine?" Everyone nodded, Thatch speaking again. "But that wasn't normal." Curiel sighed. "Psychosis isn't normal. It is abnormal thoughts and behaviour. Does anyone need to talk about this? If yes, I'm here now." Thatch swallowed. "I don't know what to even think. He thought we were dangerous." Curiel nodded. "Called being delirious. It can happen with psychosis patients." Thatch nodded. "Is this normal for him? I've never seen that before. He is doing so great. The basketball incident wasn't like this." Curiel nodded. "This is different. That was a safety mechanism. This was being delirious, a small psychotic break."

Thatch blinked. "Small?" Curiel nodded. "I know that might sound wrong, but many accidentally injure themselves or others. Ace is doing so much better now." Everyone looked at him, and he nodded. "He is up and sane, himself, yoi." Everyone nodded and seemed happy. Curiel was on his way to speak, when Dr Trafalagar stood in the door. "Mr Fishback, you can come back if you want." Marco nodded and gave a motion to the others, before he left. When he got back to Ace, who gave a smile as he saw him. "The doctor wants me here for tonight..." Marco nodded. "I will stay with you, yoi." Ace nodded and smiled. "I am glad... It will be so boring alone..." Marco smiled and leaned in and kissed Ace. He was glad Ace was fine.

He spent the evening and night with Ace, getting bed to sleep in, as there was space enough for 2. The doctor came in now and then to check on Ace, but Ace was still fine. Dr Trafalgar did say Ace would be able to leave at noon, but he wanted to talk a bit first, to try and see why this happened. They didn't get something specific, but when the doctor mentioned they had just moved to themselves, that could be a trigger, which had Ace blink. "Wait, I can't be alone?" The doctor sighed. "When you're alone, it allows your mind to reel and think, often bad things. I think you should move back to the main house for a bit again." Ace sighed. "We just moved out a month and half ago. I liked the privacy." Marco shook his head. "No, you come first, we should, yoi." Marco then looked at the doctor and asked if there was anything they could do.

The doctor did say not being alone should be best, which had him think. "How about a dog?" Dr Trafalgar hummed. "Has been known to help in some cases. But I would still advise to move back for a bit." Marco nodded. "And we will. I am sure Pops wouldn't mind, yoi." Ace nodded. "Yeah…" Marco moved his hand to Ace's. "I know this feels like a step back, but it is not, yoi." The doctor nodded. "He is right, this happens. And you recovered fast." Marco nodded. "You did. This will go fine, yoi." Ace nodded and smiled, squeezing his hand. "Yeah." The doctor then spoke a bit more with them, before they were left alone until half past 11, when the doctor came back with the discharge papers and such.

When they did leave, they headed back to the home, which Ace felt a bit embarrassed about. But Marco said it would go fine. Marco and Ace walked into the home, and Ace felt a bit worried how this would turn out. Marco moved his hand to Ace's and squeezed it. "It will be fine, yoi." Ace gave a breath. "Last time they saw me, I was being held down and rolled away by the paramedics." Marco nodded. "I know, but no one will think any less of you, yoi." As they walked, they did meet a few, who said Ace looked better and fine, and Ace just smiled at it, before they found Pops in his office.

Pops looked at Ace. "You look good, son." Ace gave a breath. "And I would be if everyone stopped saying that. I am fine." Pops chuckled. "We are just worried." Ace nodded. "I know. But I feel fine." Pops nodded and moved to hug Ace. "And that makes me glad to hear." Ace nodded as he took the hug, and when they parted, Ace looked at Pops. "I will of course pay for that window door." Pops shook his head. "No no, that should be your last thought. I will fix it." Ace gave a sigh. "I feel so bad. I feel embarrassed." Pops shook his head. "But you shouldn't. We knew this could happen." Ace nodded. "I know, but still." Pops nodded. "Did the doctor say anything special?" Marco nodded. "Yeah. He wants us to move back a bit here, yoi. He thinks us moving out might have something to do with this." Pops nodded. "I see. You can of course stay here." Marco smiled. "Thank you."

Ace then gave a breath. "How did everyone take it?" Pops hummed. "A bit shocked, Curiel helped calm us. Thatch was upset for a bit." Ace nodded and was about to speak when the door opened and Thatch stood there and gave a breath when he saw Ace. "I heard you were back. How are you?" Ace nodded and moved to hug Thatch. "Fine now. I'm sorry I scared you." Thatch shook his head. "No no, you're fine now." Ace nodded. "I am. I am also moving back a bit." Thatch blinked. "You- you are?" Ace nodded. "Yes, the doctor wants that." Thatch smiled. "Nice!" Ace nodded. "Yeah." Thatch then left, and they spoke a bit more with Pops, before they went to get their things from their home, so they could move back in with Pops.

Things were back to normal, and Ace was doing great. They did up the meetings with Trafalgar. So he now meets once a week. After being home for 2 weeks, they did get a dog, a husky they called Stefan. They then lived at the home for 3 months, before they slowly moved back to their home, which went by fine this time, and he hoped this would never happen again, even though he knew it might.
