Finally, the night of the school dance arrived. I was very excited as I got ready. I took a bath, brushed my teeth, washed my face, combed my hair and got dressed for the evening.

Neil: Okay, Neil, focus! Be gentle and nice! Impress her! Control your temper! And when the moment is right, confess your love for her.

But as I put on my evening cloak, I looked at my bedside cabinet and saw that the door was un-locked and opened and the shelf, where the magic book laid on, was empty.

Neil: Hey! Great-great-grandfather's book! It's gone! Someone stole my great-great-grandfather's book!

It was true! Someone had snuck into my room earlier that day, unlocked and opened my bedside cabinet and stole the magic book. As I went down the hall to the stairs, I saw that the door to Hex-ton's lab was open. I looked in! I didn't find Hexton in there, but I did find some interesting clues. Blueprints that talk about setting a town on fire, a picture of my dad crossed out and Hexton's note-book that tells his plan on getting revenge on my dad and becoming a powerful scientist. That's when it hit me!

Neil: Hexton is the one who set the village in Transylvania on fire, pinned the blame on my family and stole Great-great-grandfather's book. Where is he?!

I couldn't see him anywhere! Just then, I looked at the clock and realized that I had to go if I'm going to get Cindy and get to the school dance on time.

Neil: I'll get that double-crossing scientist when I come back!

With that, I headed downstairs to the front door. Little did I know was that shortly after I left, Hex-ton came out of the living room and went back to his lab.

Hexton: He'll be back to his old self again and then; his new girlfriend will drop him like a hot cake. And when that happens, I will make my next move!

Meanwhile, I was in my limo and on my way. When I saw the Fairiksen family's house, I spoke to Igen, who was driving the limo.

Neil: This is it, Igen! Stop here!

Igen stopped the limo by the front gate and I got out. Then, I crossed the yard to the front door and rang the bell. And Willow answered the door.

Willow: Why, hello, Neil! Cindy has been expecting you.

That's when Cindy came down the stairs, wearing a sparkling blue dress.

Neil: Wow! You look beautiful tonight, Cindy!

Cindy: Thank you, Neil! Shall we go?

Neil: We shall! Our ride and the school dance await us.

So, Cindy and I boarded my limo and we were on our way. When we arrived, the party was well underway. We had such a great time! Everyone was tapping their toes and moving their bodies to the music. Cindy and I even got a chance to dance together on the dance floor.

Neil: You know, Cindy! This is my first time attending a school dance, so I was feeling nervous.

Cindy: Me too! I've done this before, but no one asked to dance with me. But Mom and Dad told me that it's okay to be nervous.

I smiled! I thought that Cindy was so lucky to have parents that care about her. But then, without warning, a couple behind me bumped into me and knocked me into Cindy and that's when it happened! Our mouths touched! Our first kiss, by accident, you might say! The instant it happened; Cindy's leg lifted up.

Later after that, I decided to take a break from dancing. As I approached the refreshment table to get some punch, I thought about that kiss.

Neil: I can't believe we did that! And Cindy lifting her leg! Could it be?

But just as I drank my cup of punch, my body began to shake. That's when I smelled my cup and realized that somehow, someway, Hexton had made the antidote for my transformation formula and secretly poured it into the punch. And now, I was transforming back!

Neil: Oh no, not now! I've got to get out of here!

I hurried out the door as fast as I could. But Cindy must have seen me and wondered what was go-ing on. So, she followed me out the door and into the hallway.

Cindy: Neil? Neil, where are you?

I was hiding in one of the tall lockers because I had changed back to my true form again.

Neil: Oh, that Hexton! Why did he have to go and spoil everything?

Cindy: Neil, is that you?

Neil: Cindy? Oh, please stop! Just stay there! Don't look!

Cindy: Neil, what happened? You ran out so quickly! Please, come out and tell me!

Neil: No, I don't want you to see me like this. I look like a hideous creature.

Cindy: Oh, Neil, please come out! I'm worried about you!

Well, I didn't want to worry Cindy! But I can see there's no way out of this. So, I took a deep breath, closed my eyes and stepped out of the locker.

Neil: (thinking) Prepare for the screaming!

But to my surprise, Cindy didn't scream. When I opened my eyes again, she was surprised to see my true form.

Cindy: Neil, what happened to you? You look like a vampire!

Neil: Okay, Cindy, you got me!

I told her about me using a transformation formula, what Ahmed told me, my discovery that Ahmed moved away and the truth about me impressing her.

Neil: I'm sorry, Cindy! I changed my appearance and tried to impress you because I love you.

But as I was turning to leave, I felt a small jerk. I looked and saw that Cindy was actually holding my hand and smiling.

Cindy: I don't care about what you look like, Neil! I love you for who you truly are. A kind, gentle and friendly boy!

I smiled! Despite turning back to my regular self, I had a friend who likes me for who I am, at last.
