Later that day, Hexton used the magic book to set some of the buildings on fire and he recorded the destruction.
Hexton: Perfect! Now, I'll do the school! Those humans won't suspect a thing about how the fires really started.
But he was too late! The Fairiksens and I were waiting for him by the school gate. When Hexton got close enough, Cindy punched Hexton in the face and knocked him to the ground. The impact also knocked the magic book and Hexton's camera out of his hands.
Right on cue, Tom and His Highness caught the camera and Willow waved her magic wand and saved the book.
When Hexton got up again, he was shocked to see me.
Hexton: Neil Shadowton! I'm surprised to see you here.
Neil: Enough with the innocent act, Hexton! I saw the flames!
Hexton: Then, tell me, Shadowton! Who is responsible for setting those flames?
I knew Hexton would be expecting me to answer that me and my family did this, but I knew the truth. So, I took a deep breath, scrunched my eyebrows, bared my teeth and gave my answer.
Neil: You are!
Hexton: (shocked) WHAT?
Neil: I said you're the one who started the flames! Just like the ones you caused in Transylvania! It was all an act of revenge because my mom liked my dad better than you.
Hexton: No, you're lying!
Neil: Wrong! It's the truth! You caused the fire in Transylvania! You blamed my family for your evil doing! You betrayed my mom and dad! You interfered with my date with Cindy! AND you stole my Great-great grandfather's book!
Hexton: Alright! I confess! It was me! But I'm not going to go down without a fight!
And that's when Hexton and I began to fight! It was a fierce fight full of punching and kicking and teeth snapping. But this gave Tom and His Highness the chance to leave the scene with the camera. But the instant they left, Hexton knocked me off balance and loomed over me.
Hexton: Now, you monster, I finish you off!
Cindy saw what had happened and angrily kicked him straight into a nearby store wall.
Cindy: WHO DO YOU THINK YOU ARE, JESTER?
This gave me the chance to get up.
Neil: Thanks, Cindy! By the way, great shot!
Together, Cindy and I kept on fighting Hexton, just as Gregore, Willow, Ferocia, Tom and His Highness appeared with Lieutenant Donnelly from the Police Station, my parents and a crowd of angry Coulvice civilians.
When Hexton noticed the angry townspeople, he gasped.
Hexton: What? What is it?
Then, he saw the reason of why the people of Coulvice were angry. On every TV, computer, smartphone and billboard monitor was Hexton being confronted and his confession.
Lieutenant Donnelly: Hexton, you're under arrest for massive destruction, thievery and framing innocent people!
Hexton: Uh oh! I'm out of here!
Terrified, Hexton tried to escape. But everywhere he turned, he came upon a crowd of people blocking his way again and again. This went on and on until Cindy punched him in the face and Tom tripped him up with his foot. Then he saw the magic book in a store window.
Hexton: My source of power! I got to get it back!
He got back on his feet. But he only took a few running steps when I snuck up on him and bit him on the arm.
Hexton: OOOOOWWWWWWW!
Then, to everyone's surprise, Hexton began to transform. He sprouted a peacock tail. Then, a pig snout! And finally, his body turned into a Guinea pig's body. When the transformation was complete, Hexton found a nearby mirror sheet and saw his reflection.
Hexton: AAAAHHHHHH! I've been cursed by the Shadowton Virus!
Then, I picked him up.
Neil: And you'll stay that way until you learn that evil never pays!
Cindy: Now, what are we going to do with him to make sure he doesn't cause any trouble?
Tom: I think I have an idea!
And it was a very good idea, indeed! Tom's teacher, Miss Tinker, allowed Hexton to stay in a cage in the classroom. Boy, what a day! I got my great-great Grandfather's book back, the Fairiksen family's Fairyland traits remained a secret, Coulvice is saved and my family has been proven innocent.
