This is my own 'A Kind of Magic' story. It tells the story of Neil Shadowton, a lonely teen boy who feels uncomfortable about his monster like look. But when he moves to the town that the Fairiksen family lives in, he falls in love with Cindy Fairiksen. This story is based on the characters from the TV show 'A Kind of Magic' created by Arthur de Pins, Michel Coulon and Marc du Pont

16. Author's notes

When I first saw A Kind of Magic, I thought it was a great show. And with Season 3 of the show coming soon, I thought it would be a great opportunity to share my A Kind of Magic story. Here are some notes of the story!

In Season 2, Cindy had a crush on Ahmed, but he doesn't return the feelings. That made me think if Ahmed doesn't love Cindy, who does? Then, after seeingEckertainment's cartoon "Love Bites", the Jett character gave me an idea on who Cindy's lover should look like. Thus, Neil was created!

I based Neil off of Jett from Love Bites. He has the same colored skin as Cindy and Tom do in Season 2 of A Kind of Magic, brown hair and green eyes. His regular outfit includes a black jacket, blue pants and brown shoes. For the school dance scene, he wore a white long sleeved shirt, a blue vest, dark gray pants, black shoes and a black knee-length coat (his cloak).

In the beginning of the story, Neil was worried that Cindy wouldn't like him because he looked like a monster, kind of like how the Beast thought Belle wouldn't see him as anything but a monster in Beauty and the Beast. But like the Beast, he found out that the girl he loves was able to see past his monstrous look.

As for his voice, I try to find a voice that would match up with Cindy's voice. Here are my voice actor choices! If Cindy is voiced byKelly Sheridan, then Neil would be voiced byJason Marsden. But if Cindy is voiced bySapir Darmon, thenSterling Beaumon is the perfect choice for Neil's voice.

As for Hexton, since Ferocia is marked asan anti-hero andneutral character, the story needed a real villain. But creating an opponent to threaten the Fairiksens and Neil was no easy task. So, I looked up the previous fairytale villains that have a thirst for power and revenge. Until I thought of the perfect motive for this character, he was a jerk in the past but the girl he wanted to wed is already married and had children. So, he wants to get revenge for that.
