**POV Frost**
Crona checks Hannah one last time before looking back at Nathan. "That depends." She pauses and looks at Kairon. "How you feeling killer, can you fight?"
"It might be worth letting me go last, just to be safe ya know?" Kairon's regeneration seems to be slower, maybe because he is using his wavelength alone. He sits down between Sal and Hannah.
"Got it, then it's Nath and Frost next. Take your place in the ring when you're both ready." Crona stands and looks towards us with a determined stare. "Put on a good show boys."
"We will." My response is fairly confident as we start walking to the center.
"Don't blink, you might miss a combo or two." Nathan clasps his hand behind his head to compliment his cocky statement.
"I doubt that." I shoot Nathan a competitive stare as we reach the middle, standing twenty meters apart.
"Please, you know how close I came last time," Nathan's cocky look is replaced with a focused stare as he pulls a machete from its sheath on his back "and i've reached a whole new level training here." His tone shifts coldly as his power level increases.
"You know." I smirk and raise my power level. "Your not the only one who got stronger." I pull out my knife and pistol from their respective holsters.
"That gun better not have live rounds in it Frost!" Crona shouts over in an aggressive tone.
"Relax." I throw her a magazine. "The bullets are rubber. They will hurt like hell, but they won't wound. Besides we spar like this all the time." I shoot crona a friendly smile.
"Sure." She throws the magazine back with a worried expression. "Whatever floats your goat I guess."
Nathan adopts his fighting stance as he begins raising his wavelength as well. "I knew the vest would be handy today."
"I'm glad you brought it, you'll need it." I place the magazine back in the pouch. "Reaper Combat Art, Mortal Rage Stance." My wavelength begins to focus into my physical strength.
"Alright, if your ready? Begin!" Crona's instructions were clear as I immediately lift my pistol and open fire. The bullets race towards him as Nathan makes his first move. The two rounds I fired are deflected with little effort. I rush in and swing with my knife. A metallic clash rings out across the camp as our blades connected, Nathan's momentum pushing me back. Taking the advantage, he continues his attack with three quick slashes. My block holds steady while I wait for an opening. As my weapon partner winds up for his fourth attack, I shoot him point blank in the leg and quickly roll left. I quickly fire a round as I jump towards him. The stunned tech specialist takes the round in the arm as I ready my father's signature drop kick. Nathan winces as he quickly rolls back. My boot slams into and shatters the stone beneath it. Small pieces of debris are shot into the air around us as Nathan prepares his next strike. He lunges and swings for my midsection. I roll back to dodge the attack but he closes the distance before I can raise my firearm. I continue jumping back and bide my time for an opening.
**POV Kairon**
"Wow, looks like Nathan has Frost under some serious presure." I state enthusiastically.
"It might look that way but the boss is holding back you'll see. He might be aggressive when fighting with a team, but one on one he's something else." Alix chirped in staring in admiration. I begin analizing Frost's movements. As Nathan steps into the lung, Frost possitions his dodge to give him slightly further from each constecutive swing.
Hannah eyes blink open as she lunges forward into a seated possition with fists flying. "Bring it bitch! I'll wreck your..." Hannah just started at the group dumbfounded and embarressed. "Oh, I must have dreamed it." She scratches the back of her head as I smile warmly ar her.
"I'm glad your up, your missing one hell of a fight." Alix chirped in once more.
**POV Frost**
I have his patten down. "High left, low right and..." As my though finishes, Nathan prepares a thrusting attack. I dash nimbly past his attack, spin round and fire a round point blank into his spine. As the impact pushes him forward, he spins and throws three kunai at me with remarkable precision. I shoot down the two and swing my knife to block the third. He aunches two more kunai as he begins charging me. I quickly roll right and open fire on my attacker. The rounds fly free towards Nathan as he begins closing in. He carefully weaves around the first two rounds, deflecting the third but taking the fourth in his right shoulder stopping his charge twelve meters short. I quickly close the gap and punch him in the gut. He coughs, winded from the impact. My right knee slams into his doubled over form, lifting him from the ground. Then, a left uppercut connecting to the same point. With him over my head I shoot him in the chest, jump and dropkick him to the dirt. I land smoothly roughly fifteen meters away and notice the slide on my pistol is held open, revealing an empty weapon. "C'mon kiddo, get up! I know you have more fight in you then that!" I shout over sliding out the empty magazine and replacing it with a fresh one.
"Cut me some slack will ya." He coughs and splutters as he struggles to his feet. "You know that combo hurts!"
"Yet you keep taking it head on? What a learning curve." I sarcastically state with a smirk as I press the slide release. Nathan seems to vanish, but I know his game. The silence lingers for a moment as I start to close my eyes and sharpen my soul perception. "There you are!" I turn, jump and swing left. A loud metallic clash rings across the camp. As our blades make contact his camouflage ability wavers slightly, showing a translucent pale outline of Nathan's form. He is just visible long enough for me to figure out his next move. I block his right arm swing with my left arm and shoot directly in front of me. "I missed!?" Nathan's camouflage deactivates revealing his risky dodge. Seeming to be laid flat in the air, he twists his whole body to throw all his weight into a single punch. His left cross slams into my solar plexus, loosening my grip on my weapons. My weapon partner quickly presses his advantage.
I managing to gather enough composure to shakily block my way through his attack string, but his last attack was too strong. Opening with three quick jabs to open my guard, he readies two open palms. "Soul Force!" Nathan's attack connects, his wavelength ripping through me like a tidal wave. As I start falling to the ground I attempt to regain my balance. Nathan extends his index finger in my direction. "Death Burst!" Three blue light beams rush towards me. I just dodge the first one but the second two find their mark. I slam into the ground with a grunt, making a small crater. I cough and struggle to my feet as Nathan prepares another attack. I raise my guard just in time as his machete slams againt my knife, the ground breaking and shifting from the force. Nathan's blade slide and grindes againts mine as it slips off and to the side of me. "Soul Edge!" Nathan prepares a horizontal strike with both hands as his weapon is wrapped in a blue energy. He jumps back and as he swings and the energy is released as a curved projectile. Sparks fly as it grinds against my defence and pushes me back. As Nathan's boots hit the floor, the energy blade explodes while Nathan rushes through my broken guard. A strong punch to the chest followed by an uppercut and flying roundhouse kick.
My pistol falls free from my hand as I sail through the air. "Not bad." My statement catches Nathan off guard. "But not enough." I quickly regain my composure with a quick flip and throw my knife. As he deflects the knife, I focus my wavelength under my feet and use it as a platform to launch myself at Nathan. I grab my knife with my left arm and wind up my right. I block Nathan's quick slash and land a right hook into Nathan's left cheek. The momentum launches him towards the arena edge while I gently descend and land next to my pistol. I pick up and dust off my pistol as my tech specialist slams into the dirt. I rush him as he struggles to his feet and puts up his guard. I slash twice with my knife to get his machete out the way and fire a round point blank into his chest. My staggered and disarmed weapon partner is dazed from the assault but, "I'm not done!". I slam my boot into his jaw as I back flip to ready my last attack. I land crouched, dropping my weapons and locking my eyes on my target. "SOUL!" My hands crackle with ice blue lightning as I pounce on my helpes prey. "FORCE!" I slam my open palms into Nathan's chest. I make sure to only use enough power to assure victory as my wavelength explodes into his form, launching him from the ring. I land just inside the boundary and watch Nathan land on a bunk house roof with a bounce. "Hey Crona, does that count as a ring out?"
sorry this one is so short guys i inteded for it to be quicker too but i got quite distracted over the months leading up to xmas, i didn't want the dight to drag on but at the same time i feel i could have made it longer or more interesting, i would really like some feedback on how i can improve this particular chapter or prehaps on my character development which looking back i feel i might be lacking a little of. anyway i hope you enjoyed it, but it my end up being improved or re-written at a later date.
