Elena opened the front door hours later to find Bonnie and Caroline on the other side. She immediately stepped aside to let them in. "Hey, guys. Come in. Thanks for doing this."

"Of course," Bonnie said as they walked inside. "Do you know how you want to handle this."

Elena closed the door before answering. "I haven't the faintest idea. I don't think there's any instruction manual for this. The only thing I do know is that I need proof, which is why I needed you guys here, to help me prove it."

Bonnie nodded. "Maybe we should show her proof first. We can get it out of the way and then explain everything afterwards."

"Yeah, that sounds like a good plan," Elena said.

"Bonnie, you should show her the proof. A witch levitating something is far less traumatizing than a vampire baring her fangs," Caroline said.

Just then, Jenna came into the room from downstairs. "Hi, girls. I didn't know you two were coming over. Are you staying for dinner. Jeremy is out with friends, so we weren't going to do much, but I can order a pizza."

"That's okay, Jenna. I actually asked them to come by because I need to talk to you about something, and it's going to be easier for you to believe me with their help," Elena said.

"Elena, I'll believe anything you tell me. Is this about your breakup with Stefan?" Jenna asked.

Elena frowned. She hadn't told Jenna that she broke up with Stefan yet. Maybe Jeremy had let something slip accidently. "Uh, sort of. How did you find out about that? Did Jeremy say something?"

"No, Stefan came by earlier. He said that you'd left him for an older guy, and he was worried for your safety," Jenna told her.

"Ugh. What a dick move," Caroline said. She always thought Stefan was a good guy, but it seemed that he just turned into another asshole when his feelings got hurt. She could understand him being hurt, but this was taking things too far.

Elena pinched the bridge of her nose and groaned. She had thought better of Stefan than that. Yes, she'd hurt him, but involving Jenna was a bit low.

"I didn't put much stock into what Stefan said, Elena. Guys can get vindictive when a girl breaks up with them. Their egos can also become bruised. They think if someone breaks up with them then it must before another guy. I wasn't even going to bring it up unless you wanted to talk about it," Jenna told her niece.

Elena sighed. "We do need to talk about it, but it's a part of a longer story. Can we sit and talk?"

Jenna nodded and led the way into the living room. They all sat down. Jenna and Elena sat down on the couch while Caroline and Bonnie took a couple of chairs.

"Jenna, what I'm about to tell you is going to be difficult for you to believe, so Bonnie is going to show you something first. Be prepared. It's going to be a shock," Elena warned her.

Jenna nodded and turned to Bonnie. She doubted there was much her niece could tell her that she wouldn't believe, but she would watch and listen if that was what Elena wanted.

Bonnie looked around for something to use her magic on. Her eyes landed on a family photo of the Gilberts' on the mantle. She reached her hand out and the photo came flying into her hand.

Jenna gasped and stood up. "Whoa! How did you do that?!"

"I'm a witch," Bonnie said calmly. There was no easy way to say it, so she decided it was best to just come out with it.

"A w…witch?" Jenna asked in disbelief.

"Jenna, sit down. Let us explain," Elena said. She waited for Jenna to sit back down before explaining everything about the supernatural to her. She told her about witches and vampires, and how her father knew about it. "I know this is a lot to take in."

Jenna only nodded. It was all she could do at the moment. Her niece had just told her that about half the town, many of whom she knew, were supernatural creatures. Jenna would be worried that her niece was having a nervous breakdown if she hadn't seen it with her own eyes with Bonnie just a few minutes ago.

"Take your time, Jenna. Whenever you're ready, ask whatever you want," Elena said patiently.

"Vampires and witches? They're real?" Jenna asked in disbelief.

"And werewolves and some other creatures, but they're not what the media makes them out to be. Some of the things said about them are true, but they're not evil, not all of them. The supernatural is no different than the natural. There are good people and not so good people," Elena explained.

"How long have you known about this?" Jenna asked.

"Since not long after I met Stefan," she said.

"And your parents knew about this?" Jenna asked in disbelief.

"My dad did. I don't know about Mom," Elena said. She was actually hoping her mom did not know, so she could continue believing that she had nothing to do with altering hers and Jeremy's memories. She'd already lost any respect she ever had for her father for what he did.

"Stefan told you about all of this?" she asked.

"It's a long story, but I first learned about vampires because of Stefan. Jenna, there's more I have to tell you. Jeremy and I are not exactly free of supernatural properties either." Elena said.

"What? You…You're a vampire?" Jenna asked in disbelief.

"No. I'm another type of witch called a Traveler. I'm also something called a doppelganger," Elena told her.

"A Traveler? What exactly is that?" Jenna asked.

"My bloodline contains certain abilities. The biggest one is the ability to move into other bodies. That's why they call us travelers, for how we can travel from person to person," Elena explained.

"You mean you can possess someone?" Jenna asked in horror.

"Yes. It's not an ability I've used, at least not in the traditional sense. I don't believe in controlling other people that way. However, I have used the ability to be revived into another person. It's not possession. It's more like what most people would call reincarnation, only magic is used to make it happen," Elena explained.

"Reincarnation? But doesn't that happen once you've died?" Jenna asked.

"Yes. I've lived before, Jenna. I want you to understand that I'm still who you've always believed me to be. I'm still Elena. It's just that I'm someone else as well. I have two sets of memories, two sets of experiences. Centuries ago, my name was Tatia Petrova," Elena told her.

"Oh my God! I can't believe this is happening!" Jenna exclaimed. This had to be some sort of strange dream, right? It couldn't be real. None of this could be real.

"I know this is a lot to put on you. I'm really sorry. I wish I didn't have to, but I couldn't hide it from you any longer. Things are going to happen that would make it impossible not to tell you, and I thought it was best to get it all out at once.

"So, your whole life you've been hiding this?" Jenna asked.

Elena's eyes darkened a little. "No. Like I said before, I learned about the supernatural because of Stefan. Well, sort of. I knew about it before, but those memories were taken from me. I didn't remember anything about my old life until recently. Do you remember the story you told me and Jeremy about how close we were as children?"

Jenna nodded.

"That's when I realized something was wrong, because I should've remembered that. When you told me that my dad took me to see Sheila Bennett, I figured out that my memories were probably altered. Sheila Bennett was a witch, like Bonnie," Elena explained.

"Why would they do that?" Jenna asked.

"My dad took me to her to 'fix' Jeremy and me. He didn't like how close we were. He sought to destroy that bond, and he did in a way. He couldn't destroy it. No one could ever do that, but he and Sheila damaged the relationship we had. They interfered with my ability to protect him," Elena said with fury in her voice.

"I don't understand. What would you need to protect him from," Jenna asked.

"Protecting Jeremy has always been my number one goal. It's why I made sure I was reborn in the first place. Listen, there's nothing I can do to prepare for the shock of what I'm about to say. Jeremy was reborn in a way as well. He didn't die, but his soul was reborn into an ancestor several centuries into the future. Jeremy is my son," Elena told her.

Jenna could only blink in response. She didn't even know what to say anymore. This whole thing became more unbelievable with each word, yet, she knew Elena wasn't laying, and as unbelievable as it was, the last bit made some sort of twisted sense. Jeremy was extremely close to Elena when he was a child. He referred to her as his mother, and he never let anybody correct him on that. "Is… Is there anything else?"

"I mean, there are a couple of smaller things, at least compared to the rest, but this was the big stuff. If you need time, the rest can wait," Elena said.

Jenna nodded that she did need that.

"Alright, I'll leave you be for the night. Will you let me call Ric for you? He knows most, if not all of this, and I don't want you to be completely alone," Elena said. She'd already banked on her and Jeremy spending the night with Elijah. She knew Jenna would need time. However, she didn't want her alone. She didn't know if Ric knew about the reincarnation thing, but he might. She didn't tell him, but he and Damon were drinking buddies, and Stefan had probably told Damon by now.

"You don't have to leave," Jenna said.

"I think I do, at least for the night. I think you need the night to think away from us. We'll be fine. Jeremy and I have somewhere else to stay for the night. We'll be back tomorrow if you want to talk more then. Will you let me call Ric?" Elena asked.

Jenna could only nod in response.

Elena turned to Bonnie and Caroline. "Stay with her for a few minutes?"

"Of course," Bonnie said.

Elena got up and left the room to go call Ric.
