Update time!
Sorry for the late update but I've gotten sick lately, and didn't have that much time for writing.
Let's get to the chapter, though!

Hey there everyone, with the recent announcement of the game mode turning into a real game, we've been left with a single important question.
What new interesting characters are going to be added to our beloved game mode!?
This thread is made for discussing any and all cool ideas for characters that could be added to the full game.
Tell me you wildest ideas, I'm curious.

Cant thy jst use the same charcters we had until now?/
they wrked fine

They can't do that.
The game is a completely new thing, and the old characters are all borrowed from the Sci-War. If they did something like that, it would undoubtedly cause them some troubles with the company behind the original game.

I think the current characters work just fine for the mod version of the game, especially if someone is a casual gamer as I am.
Though, if I really were to add a character I think a classic white knight/paladin type of character would fit well into the game. It would be a perfect character for beginners, as well.

I think we could use a proper Mistralian huntress in the full game release. You know someone like Pyrrha Nikos, to two time winner of the Vytal festival.

If there was one word that could describe the feelings everyone was experiencing in the call, it was tense.
The situation was stressful, unexpected, and most certainly life-changing for everyone present in the call. It wasn't rare to see friendships shatter because of situations less important than this one.
Weiss couldn't say anything.
There were many ways she envisioned revealing her identity to Ilia. They ranged from private conversations to grand reveals in the call with the support of Jaune, who would have acted as a mediator.
One of the ideas she had even included her visiting her friend in person!
What happened here, however, wasn't one of those ideas.
She tightened her fists from nerves.
A part of her mind wanted to blame Jaune for this situation. If the boy didn't tell Ilia who she actually was, then there was simply no other way that her other friend would learn the truth, after all.
That part of her mind was quickly silenced, however.
In the end, she knew very well that this entire situation was her fault.
There wouldn't have been any issues right now if she had been honest from the very beginning.
Sure, they would have fought before in that case, but back then she wouldn't have had to try to explain multiple years of lies she inflicted upon her friend to put off this very scenario for later.
At most, they would have ended up in a single fight. They would have been back to being friends—maybe better, maybe worse—in a matter of a couple weeks, after she would have done her best to correct all of her father's mistakes.
Unfortunately, it was too late for things like that now.
Weiss almost wanted to laugh at the hopelessness of the situation she found herself in.
It wasn't a fight she could fight through, nor was it a test or concert she could prepare for in advance. All the experience and knowledge she had about dealing with problems that she could encounter weren't going to help her here at all.
The challenge she found herself facing was a real crack in the relationship she had with her friends. No matter how hard she tried, it was impossible to make it disappear like it was never there.
It wasn't something she had ever dealt with before.
She sighed silently.
To think that none of that would have been an issue right now if she had been just a little bit more proactive in the past.
Who knew that some of the lessons her father made her sit through would actually turn out to be correct in the end?
"I'm waiting for your answer, Weiss." Ilia said coldly, breaking the silence.
Weiss couldn't help but wince at her friend's words.
It seemed that her friend was done with pretending that she wasn't sure about her identity. The girl didn't even bother to use her nickname while talking to her and went straight to using her real name instead.
There was nothing for her to hide anymore.
Despite all of that, she couldn't help but mellow down a little.
It was the first time her friend called her by her name, instead of the nickname she had chosen for herself.
If the situation was completely different, and their friendship wasn't at the brink of collapse, she probably would have enjoyed it quite a bit. It was a further step in deepening their relationship, after all.
"I-I think I s-should leave. Y-You know, to leave you t-two alone with this conversation. I-I wouldn't want to intrude on this, especially since it seems like it might take a while." Jaune stuttered, butting into the conversation.
Weiss sighed.
"No, stay here, Jaune." She said. "There's no reason for you to leave; all three of us should be here for this conversation. Besides, if Ilia didn't want you to be here for this talk, she would have told you to leave before I joined the call."
Ilia grunted in response.
"O-Okay." Jaune whimpered a little before quieting down.
Weiss tried to relax.
There were no more distractions to postpone her talk with Ilia left, and there was nothing preventing that talk from happening anymore.
It wasn't going to be an easy conversation, but there was nothing she could do about it. The conversation needed to happen at some point, anyway, and there was no way to delay it any longer.
She could only hope that it wasn't going to cost her friendship.
With her entire body shaking from the nerves, she opened her mouth to start her explanation.
"Why did you lie to me for so long, Weiss!?" Ilia shouted before Weiss could get a word in; her voice sounded hoarse, and it was clear that she had been doing her best to stop herself from bawling.
Weiss could only flinch at the sheer intensity of her friend's words.
"I-" She started trying to explain herself, but she was interrupted by her friend once more.
"Was all of our friendship a lie!?" Ilia asked in an accusatory tone. "Was it some weird game you rich folk play by yourself to see how long you can string along common people like me?! Was it something like that!?"
There was nothing Weiss could do but shut her mouth and keep quiet for a moment.
"Ilia, there's no way tha-" Jaune tried to calm their friend down, but he was interrupted as well.
"No!" Ilia cried. "You have no idea how much harm her family did to me. I lost everything to those bastards! I lost my family, my safety, my future. There was nothing they didn't take from me."
The sound of Ilia's cries echoed through the call.
"I-I don't want to lose my friend, too."
Weiss looked at the screen in front of her with tears in her eyes as she heard her friend's words.
"Ilia..." She started.
"P-Please, Weiss." Ilia bawled. "Tell me the truth, please."
Weiss gulped.
It was time to finally explain herself.
The only thing she needed to do was to open her mouth and tell her friends why exactly she was hiding her identity from them for so long. It was going to be a simple and clean conversation. She was beyond certain that she would be able to do it easily.
Her mouth opened.
No words came out of it.
She didn't know what to say.
There were countless excuses and explanations she wanted to give; all of them were as expansive and reasonable as they could be. She was certain that if she were to use any of them, she could still salvage her friendship.
It was impossible for her to use any of those explanations, however.
The only thing she could do was sit in front of her computer in silence.
"W-Snow?" Ilia asked, sobbing.
Weiss tightened her fists.
It wasn't the time to freeze and spiral into thoughts of losing one of the most important people she ever knew. If she continued like that, the friendship she had with Ilia was going to be destroyed in a moment.
She couldn't let that happen.
There was no way she was going to let her friendship fall apart right here!
"I-" She choked. "I was afraid."
The shifting sound echoed through the call, as her friends most likely reacted to her answer.
"W-What?" Ilia choked out.
Weiss gritted her teeth.
"I was afraid, okay!?" She shouted.
Her shout was definitely loud enough to be heard outside her room. A couple of servants working in the mansion undoubtedly must have heard her, and currently they were probably wondering what was going on in her room.
At best it was going to cause a couple of servants to start looking at her funny in the next couple of days.
At worst, her father was going to learn about it in the future.
She didn't care.
There were more important things to focus on right now.
"A-Afraid of what?" Ilia asked, with slight venom in her tone. "Were you afraid of your lies coming to the light of day?"
"I was afraid of losing you, you idiot!" Weiss answered with a scoff. "Do you think that I don't know just how much harm my family caused to others!? I know it very well. There isn't a single event, gala, or even damned family dinner during which I don't get to see how my father heartlessly deals with all the people working under him. There's nothing I can do about it!"
Her answer was met with complete silence.
Neither of her friends had the immediate answer to her, and she wasn't sure whether she should be glad about that or not. Her family life was never supposed to be revealed to her friends, as far as she was aware.
Now, she could only deal with the aftermath.
Weiss looked down at her desk in anguish.
"Trust me, I wish that I could." She whispered, following on her prior declaration.
There were times during which she wished for nothing more than to correct all of her father's cruelties.
Unfortunately, she was well aware that it was impossible for her to accomplish.
Not only was she far too young to take control of the company, her father also wasn't going to give away the SDC until his own death. There was no way it was going to happen any time soon.
It didn't change the fact that her family's corporation had caused harm to tens of thousands of people, including her friends.
"How-" Ilia choked, interrupting her own question.
Weiss looked up, back onto her screen.
"H-How can I trust that you're telling the truth?" Ilia asked, finally.
Weiss stayed silent for a moment.
What could she say in response to that?
No matter how she felt about her family or her friends, it didn't change the fact that she did lie to her friend for the last good couple of years. In all honesty, she probably wouldn't have trusted herself if she were in Ilia's place, either.
After a moment to think about her answer, she opened her mouth.
"C-Come on, Ilia, that's Snow we are talking to. There's no way that she would lie to us about something like that; I think we can trust her." Jaune said, before any answer could be given from her.
Weiss sighed in relief.
It was good to know that at least one of her friends still considered her trustworthy.
After all the times she had failed her friends, that small amount of trust was priceless to her.
"No, we can't trust her!" Ilia protested angrily. "I would have trusted her years ago when my parents died, as well as any time in the last couple of years when we talked to each other. If she had told me who she was back then, everything would have been fine! Damn it, I would have even trusted her right now if she was the one who actually told me who she was! I can't trust her now, however; not after she didn't even bother to tell who she was herself!"
Weiss looked saddened at the screen before her.
It was painful to learn that if she had been just a little bit more courageous and revealed who she was to her friend on her own volition, she could have kept her friendship with Ilia together without any issues. It made her regret her previous behaviour that much more.
She wasn't disappointed about that, though.
After all, it was what she expected.
"H-How can I earn your trust back, Ilia?" She asked.
There had to be a way.
She refused to believe that there wasn't.
"I-I have no idea." Ilia murmured.
Weiss slumped from disappointment.
Was that the end of their friendship then?
If even her friend didn't know how she could regain the trust from them, then there was no way she was going to figure it out on her own. It wasn't like she was any better about those issues than either of her friends.
In fact, when it came to social relations, she was less knowledgeable than both of them.
A deep sigh escaped her.
It looked like the worst-case scenario was upon her, and she wasn't going to be able to save her friendship.
"I-I might be willing to put some trust in you, Weiss." Ilia said with clear hesitation. "I won't trust you like I used to—at least not anytime soon—but I'm willing to give you one last chance to prove me wrong."
Weiss immediately brightened up.
"Really!?"
It was her one last chance.
If her friend said that despite everything there still might be a chance for them to reconcile, then maybe it wasn't impossible for her to salvage that friendship of theirs. As long as Ilia was willing to give her a chance, there was no way she was going to waste it.
She would do anything!
"Y-Yeah," Ilia said, her voice still shaking. "I-I think I'll be able to trust you more if we were to meet in real life. I want to meet you without any screens dividing us or chat to turn our words into letters. I want to meet the real you."
Weiss's eyes sparkled at the chance.
It was the exact thing she needed!
She was sure that when she finally met her friend in person, they would be able to easily reconcile with one another. If they wouldn't be able to do it easily, however, then she was more than willing to try as hard as she could to ensure that she would earn the lost trust back!
The only thing she needed to do was accept her friend's proposal.
"I-" She opened her mouth and immediately hesitated.
It might not actually be such an easy ordeal to meet her friend in person.
The moment her father learnt about any of that, she was going to be severely punished and forced to take dozens more difficult lessons. It would be just like when she skipped a single day to watch the tournament.
There was no way she could do it without her father noticing either.
The man would be furious at her for simply skipping a single day of lessons that she already knew. She didn't want to learn how enraged he would be the moment he learnt that she sneaked out of the mansion.
On top of that, she would need to find a way to get out of the city of Atlas unnoticed as well. There was no way that she could be spotted outside her mansion by anyone without it being somehow reported back to her father, anyway.
She couldn't help but subconsciously tense her muscles a little.
No matter how she was going to do it, the way to meet her friend was simply going to be a nightmare.
"Weiss?" Ilia asked, her voice laced with disappointment.
Weiss gritted her teeth.
No, she wasn't going to let her friend down because of her family again.
In the grand scheme of things, her father's reaction was going to be nothing more than an inconvenience to her. It wasn't something that she hadn't been forced to deal with for most of her life already.
She could take it.
"Don't worry, I'll meet you." She said with determination. "I'll do it as soon as I can. No, sooner than that! I'll go to Mantle tomorrow regardless of whether I'll be allowed to or not; just tell me where to meet you, and I'll be there."
Both her friends gasped a little at her declaration.
"A-Are you sure about that, Weiss?" Jaune asked. "I know that you want to prove your dedication to Ilia, but isn't that going to have terrible consequences for you in the future? I know you were already punished quite a lot for simply watching the tournament with us."
A gentle smile formed on Weiss's face.
The boy knew how difficult it would be for her to do and just what the consequences of her decision might be. There was no doubt in her mind that he would be concerned for her the entire time she would be meeting with Ilia the next day.
It was good to have a friend like this.
After all, that was why she was going to put so much effort into making sure her friendship with Ilia would remain unbroken.
"Yes, I'm certain." She said, after a moment of silence.
Ilia sighed softly.
"Alright, I'll see you tomorrow at the internet cafe I frequent." The girl said. "You can ask Jaune where it is; he had been there with me before. Now, I'll be going to sleep; I'm done for today. I'll see you tomorrow, if you show up, of course."
A chime echoed through the call as the girl left the call; the conversation must have been extremely tiring for her.
Weiss didn't fault her; she was getting exhausted, as well.
"That went slightly better than I thought it would." Jaune remarked before letting out a sigh. "I'm sorry it turned out like that. It was an accident, and I really didn't mean to reveal your secret like that."
Weiss huffed quietly.
"It's alright."
Instead of despairing that her friendship had almost been destroyed, she was going to focus on making sure that it wasn't actually destroyed in the future. The situation wasn't ideal, but it sure could have been worse too.
She tightened her fists in determination and smiled confidently.
There was a friend awaiting her to prove herself to them, and she wasn't going to let them down.
She was going to save her friendship with Ilia, even if it was going to be the last thing she would be allowed to do in her entire life!
(...)
The feeling of nervousness was gnawing away at Ilia ever since morning.
It wasn't difficult to tell why she was feeling that way; her in-person meeting with Weiss was approaching frighteningly quickly, and she still wasn't sure whether she forgave that girl or not yet.
At the very least, she was willing to have a talk with her.
Whether or not that girl would manage to earn her trust back depended solely on her. It wasn't like she should be the one putting effort into keeping their friendship afloat after being lied to for so long, after all.
Ilia hesitated a little.
It wasn't like she wanted her friendship to end all that much, either.
In all honesty, just the prospect of possibly losing one of her best friends forever was making her life difficult, even if she was technically the one who would most likely be ending the friendship.
She hadn't been able to concentrate on her training at all today.
In fact, she was pretty sure that she had just wasted an entire day by trying to train in that state of mind.
A sigh escaped her as she slowly walked through another alley of Mantle.
Although it would have been far faster to return from her training to the cafe by bus, she decided to go on foot instead. It would give her enough time to prepare herself for the upcoming meeting. On top of that, she was pretty sure that her friend needed some time to calm herself down, as well.
When they met, however, she was certain they would be able to remain friends without any issues.
Her friend's family might have been cruel, but Weiss herself had been nothing but kind to her the entire time she knew her. She only needed to be sure that all of that kindness was actually honest.
They were going to reconcile for sure!
At least, that's what she wanted to believe.
Ilia let out another sigh.
There were still doubts in her head as to whether she would even be able to meet her friend in the first place.
It wasn't easy for a person like the SDC heiress to simply come down from Atlas and meet her, after all.
There were probably countless different people whose job was simply to ensure that the girl wouldn't get lost or leave the city of Atlas. That was all without mentioning the fact that her friend was a celebrity in her own right.
The moment that girl was spotted somewhere in the city without an entourage, it would make the national news.
A wince appeared on her face as she thought about it.
She really didn't think the idea of meeting her friend in person through, did she?
There was no way her friend was actually going to meet her.
If that girl had tried to escape her home and meet her, then she had probably been stopped somewhere along the way, and if she hadn't done that, then she wouldn't even know about it, anyway.
In the end, it would take an actual miracle for them to meet in person.
A familiar internet cafe revealed itself to her as she entered a different alley.
It looked perfectly calm and quiet, just like it did on any other day.
That fact alone was more than enough to tell her that her friend wasn't there. If she had been actually there, then the entire alley most likely would have been swarmed with different fans and reporters who wanted to see the kingdom's famous singer.
Ilia stopped for a moment.
Although she didn't actually expect to meet her friend in this place anymore, she still couldn't help but feel a little bit disappointed.
It looked like the miracle wasn't going to happen.
She shrugged slightly.
Well, it was something she already expected. It looked like she would have to connect to their voice chat once again and maybe try to have a long one-on-one conversation with her friend through it.
Whether she would be able to trust her friend despite talking through a screen and being unable to see her face, she didn't know.
At the very least, she could try.
With a resigned determination, she picked up her pace and quickly walked towards the cafe.
There was no point in delaying any longer if she was going to meet her friend through the voice chat anyway.
It took her less than a minute to reach the building, open the door, and enter it.
"Hello, Ilia!" The cafe owner greeted her as she entered.
"Hey." She said briefly, not even bothering to turn around and look at the older man.
Although the disappointment she felt wasn't as big as it could have been, she still wasn't exactly in the mood to talk to him. She would rather connect to the voice chat app as quickly as possible and have a talk with Weiss instead.
"Where are you going, Ilia?!" The cafe owner asked loudly. "Your friend is waiting for you in the kitchen. She's been waiting for you for a while already. I don't think you want to make her wait even longer."
Ilia froze in place.
"My friend?" She asked as she turned around to look at the older man.
The cafe owner nodded his head.
"Yeah, your friend." The man shrugged slightly. "She said that her name is Snow. At first, I wasn't sure whether she was actually your friend or not; you know because the name she gave was just her nickname. However, she knew your online handle and your real name as well, so I think she actually knows who you are."
Ilia widened her eyes in surprise.
No, it was impossible.
The cafe owner frowned a little when he noticed her reaction.
"W-Was I not supposed to welcome her?" The older man asked. "Is she some sort of stalker? Are you alright? I know that one of your friends' nicknames is Snow, but is she not-"
Ilia interrupted the cafe owner before the man could get into a worried tirade about her possible online safety, or the lack of it.
"No, it's alright." She said. "She's my friend."
The cafe owner let out a sigh of relief.
"Good." The man said.
Ilia shook her head.
She couldn't believe it.
The chance of her friend coming here from the very centre of Atlas without being noticed by anyone was so small that it should have been impossible. There were countless things that could have stopped her along the way.
How did that girl even manage that?!
On top of that, Weiss had also somehow managed to arrive at the internet cafe before her. It was even more difficult to believe because the girl usually only had the time to join their voice chats and play games with them in the late evenings.
A small frown appeared on her face.
Wait, that didn't make any sense.
It shouldn't be possible for her friend to arrive before her, even if she was delaying her arrival to the cafe more than usual.
Their usual game session wouldn't have started for another hour or so, anyway. At the very least, it was still far too early for the usual time when Weiss would have enough free time to join them.
Ilia froze as another thought entered her mind.
It couldn't be the case, though, could it?
Her friend wouldn't risk herself so much to prove her trustworthiness to her.
"H-How long was Snow waiting here?" She couldn't help but ask.
The cafe owner looked at the clock.
"She's been waiting for almost ten hours already." The man said. "She came here in the morning. If it weren't for my hospitality, that poor girl would have most likely been starving by now while awaiting you."
Ilia widened her eyes in surprise before immediately storming off to the kitchen.
She gritted her teeth as she hastily ran through the cafe.
How did that stupid girl manage to arrive here in the morning?!
Did she leave her mansion at night!?
Didn't she know that Mantle was incredibly dangerous at night?
It took all of her strength not to scoff at the situation.
Of course that dumb girl didn't know; she's been trapped in her mansion her entire life. It would have been more surprising if she actually had the common sense to know about things like that instead.
Ilia swore that would give that girl the biggest scolding in her entire life, the moment she found her!
The door to the kitchen opened with a loud bang as she rushed into the room. The moment she entered it, Ilia instantly saw her friend sitting on one of the chairs and eating a large cookie.
Her friend was wearing oversized, weathered clothes, with a dirty cloth covering her characteristic white hair. She looked hungry and dirty; after seeing her, it actually took a while for Ilia to connect the person before her to her supposedly rich friend.
The girl didn't look one bit like a person coming from a rich family, let alone the heiress of the biggest corporation on Remnant.
Ilia raised her eyebrow at the scene before her.
There were countless things she wanted to say and ask. However, as she processed what exactly was happening in front of her, there was only really one thing that could come out of her mouth.
"Are you seriously eating that cookie?"
Weiss gulped down her food.
"W-What?!" The girl asked incredulously. "I was hungry, and the owner of this place offered it to me for free. Do you know how rare it is for me to actually eat a cookie like that in my home mansion?"
Ilia snorted.
A small smile appeared on her face.
Although it wasn't exactly how she envisioned their meeting would go, Ilia was still talking to one of her friends. She was angry at her, and she certainly wanted to demand an explanation for all her lies, but she still couldn't help but look at the girl with a pleased expression on her face.
In the end, regardless of all the circumstances, her friend was right before her.
It was a joyous occasion.
And cut!
Once again, sorry for slightly late update, but I've gotten sick this week and had little time for writing. Also, if the second part of the chapter seems to be slightly worse than the first one, it's because I couldn't exactly proof read it as well as the first one, for the same issues.
I hope you enjoyed the chapter anyway.
Anyway, that's it for now!
See ya!
