Chapter 7:The Hogwarts Advisory Board

After making sure that everything was in order, Archie walked to the empty classroom where the meeting would be held. He looked at the list of representatives and smiled. Today was going to be a great day. Archie sat down at the end of a large conference table and waited.

As all of the representatives both faculty and student trickled into the room and sat down, tea and light refreshments appeared in front of each person courtesy of the Hogwarts house elves. Archie sipped his tea, and once the last representative Xenophelius Lovegood a former Ravenclaw sat down, Archie began the meeting. "Thank you all for being so prompt, before I hand over the meeting to our chairman Headmaster Dumbledore, I would like to welcome you all to the first meeting of the new and improved Hogwarts Board of Governors, now known as the Hogwarts Advisory Board. I would also like to take a moment to thank Lady Hogwarts and the Hogwarts head house elf Trapper for providing us with tea and light refreshments." Archie said before turning the meeting over to Dumbledore.

Thank you, Archie for those kind words of welcome. I speak for myself and the faculty of Hogwarts when I say thank you for creating this advisory board, I hope that we as the faculty representatives will be able to advise you as to the running of Hogwarts as her owner. And I hope that I, as the current Headmaster of this fine institution will be able to assist you in all matters regarding the school. With that being said, the first order of business is the revamping of the History of Magic curriculum, I now yeld the floor to the head of the History of Magic department, Professor Bonnie Andrews." Dumbledore said.

The focus was now directed at Bonnie who smiled and stood up. "Thank you, Headmaster Dumbledore. I would like to take this time to discuss a possible revamping of the entire History of Magic curriculum, as you all are painfully aware, except for our first year representatives. For decades, the History of Magic class was taught by Professor Cuthbert Binns who is a ghost. Professor Binns was the History of Magic professor well into the late 1800s, and my search of the Hogwarts records show that Professor Binns died in 1804 at the ripe old age of 119, my research also found that Professor Binns passed away in his sleep. When I was a student, Professor Binns would always talk about goblin rebellions and other things, but he never got into the true history of Wizarding Britain. In front of you all, is a copy of my preliminary vision for the revamped History of Magic curriculum, starting with the founding of Hogwarts and ending with the First Wizarding War. I invite you all to come to me if you have any questions. I yeld the floor back to Headmaster Dumbledore." Bonnie said.

I believe I speak for all of us, Bonnie when I say this is a very well rounded curriculum, I believe all we need to do is put it to a vote. Those in favor of implementing Professor Andrew's improved curriculum next term raise your hands please." Archie said,. Every hand raised. 'Those opposed?" Archie asked. Every hand went down. "Then it is settled,. we will implement Professor Andrews new History of Magic curriculum next term." Archie said.

The meeting went on for another three hours with every professor and faculty member providing ideas and suggestions to Archie to make Hogwarts one of if not the best wizarding school in Magical Britian. As Archie packed up his things, Sadie appeared next to him. Archie could tell that the 1000 year old basilisk was destressed by the way she kept her eyes unhooded. Archie looked Sadi in the eyes, and was surprised to see he wasn't petrified or dead.

"All heirs of Salazar are immune to my gaze. We have a problem, all of the Death Eaters that were executed by you have been spotted in Hogsmeade they're gone now, but it's not good. I believe Voldemort, or someone in his inner circle got a hold of Salazar's necromancy journals and used the spells to bring back the dead Death Eaters." Sadie said.

Yes. that is concerning, I'll have to check the vaults in the chamber and talk to Ragnok about this as soon as possible. Thank you for bringing it to my attention Sadie." Archie said scratching Sadie under the chin.

He knew he must inform Dumbledore and Ragnok about this at his earliest convenience, but for now he had classes to teach and papers to grade.

When he got back to his office, he sent a letter to Ragnok.

Chief Ragnok,

I need an urgent favor. I've been informed by Sadie, Salazar's basilisk that the death eaters that I had executed when I became the Duke of Gryffinsmore were alive and spotted in Hogsmeade. She told me she suspects that Voldemort or someone in his inner circle got a hold of his necromancy journals. The only other thing I can think of, is there is also a possibility that someone broke into the Great Mansion and stole the pages from the Slytherin Family Grimiore. I am extremely worried that some unknown family member managed to get into the grimiore.

Please let me know what you find out,

Lord Archibald Emmanuel Andrews-Black-Gryffindor-Ravenclaw-Hufflepuff-Slytherin-LeFey-Emrys-Peverell
