Chap 55 Gender?
A/N: Short & sweet, I could not wait. Skyross19 will find something familiar below. Thanks!
DOCTOR CASEY NELSON
June 1 – 18 weeks pregnant.
"Hi guys, great to see you again!" Nurse Debbie is her usual effervescent self. "Big day, huh? Gender time! I can't wait, how about you?"
"You sound just like our 3 girls at home," Jamie smirks.
"Well, I'm in good company then, yes?"
"You are," Eddie smiles, rubbing her growing baby bump self-consciously.
"Casey will be in momentarily."
Eddie gets up on the exam table and preps for the coming U/S exam. This is her 3rd time through pregnancy, but the nerves never seem to go away. Fortunately, Jamie is here with her, as he was for Mary Rose. His love and support keep her on an even keel.
"Well, here is Eddie and her sidekick!"
They all chuckle.
"My sidekick, support, my everything!" Eddie grins.
"That's what I like to hear. Before we start, have you contacted my husband yet, Eddie?"
"Your husband?"
"Yes, Gregg Baker. He's a lawyer. He gave Deborah at Saddle Rock Ranch his contact information. About paralegal services?"
"Oh, yes. Sorry, I didn't realize the connection. I'm working my way through the names she gave me."
"Yes, I keep my maiden name for the practice. Business stuff, you know. Outside of the office I'm Mrs. Casey Baker. And damn proud of it!"
"I get it. I'm Mrs. Eddie Reagan, and damn proud of it too!"
Jamie chuckles, he's very pleased with the easy camaraderie Eddie has with her obstetrician.
"Well, let's get going, shall we?" Casey buzzes for Debbie. The nurse comes in, pushing the cart with the U/S machine. Eddie pulls her top up, Debbie squirts some gel, Casey starts the exam.
"Everything looks good. Babies are good sized. Nothing unusual seen. Now, you did want to know the gender, correct? Just don't want to blurt out something you don't want to hear. Oh, by the way, I don't remember that I've told you; your DUE DATE IS NOVEMBER 2." She looks up at Eddie and Jamie.
Eddie looks expectantly at Jamie, he nods. "Yes, we want to know." Eddie squeaks. (The due date hasn't sunk in yet)
"Ok, here goes. We are going to bring a little balance into your lives – we have 2 little boys! Congratulations guys! You happy?"
"OVER-THE-DAMN-MOON!" Jamie falls to his knees in a posture of prayer.
"Don't gloat, Reagan!" Eddie scolds.
"You wanted boys too," he winks. Maybe he overdid it, a touch?
"Yes, I did. Thanks babe. 1-4-3!"
"1-4-3!"
"1-4-3? Oh, I've heard that. You guys are too much. I'll try that on Gregg, see if he can figure it out," Casey says.
"He'll get it eventually, like Harvard here." Eddie points to her husband.
"Harvard? Jamie? Wow, you guys should do a reunion or something."
"Yeah, we should. Thanks doc, for the good news." He bends down and lays a kiss on Eddie's forehead.
"Yes, thank you so much," Eddie is all smiles too.
Casey exits and Debbie enters to finish the visit and give Eddie her net appointment. A great day indeed!
DRIVING HOME
"Jamie, my due date. November 2!"
"Yes, so?"
"If I'm early!"
"Oh . . . OH! 5 October birthdays. Oh no!"
"Isn't that a kick in the ass." She smirks.
"Yup. Well, let's not rock the womb."
"Should I cut you off, sport?"
He looks at her strangely. "NO!"
"I thought not. Drive on, Reagan." She looks out her side window and smiles.

SUPPER
"Can you girls wait until breakfast for our news?" Jamie slyly asks.
"NO WAY!" Three hyper excited girls scream. "You've got to be kidding me," Mary Rose adds, bouncing up and down.
Mal sits back in her chair sulking, arms crossed on her chest.
Cassie waits expectantly. She has learned to see the twinkle in her dad's eyes. She is a fast, and appreciative learner.
"Well . . . we are going to have . . . 2 . . . –
"Out with it!"
"I can't believe this!"
"Wait for it," Cassie the cool one.
"2 BOYS!" Eddie raises her arms in a victory salute.
"What? 2 little brothers?"
"They will get into everything!"
"Well, I really like that."
(You choose who said what above)
"So, girls, we are having Sunday dinner here this week," Eddie announces. "And we will, obviously, make this announcement to the family." She looks to Jamie.
"Here is what we are going to do-

SUNDAY DINNER ON THE ISLAND
After the blessing, food is passed, all begin eating.
Jamie stands, clears his throat, takes a sip of water, and speaks. "Eddie and I had a momentous doctor's visit this last week." He sits down.
Eddie stands, "As you all know, we are expecting twins. The babies are healthy, a normal pregnancy." She sits.
"ENOUGH ALREADY!" Sean barks.
Malina stands, "We are happy to announce that mom convinced dad to learn the gender of our coming twins, at their doctor visit this week!" She sits.
"GOD, WHAT IS THIS?" Danny grumbles.
Mary Rose shoots to her feet, "We are having 2 BOYS!" She raises her arm for victory. She sits.
Pandemonium ensues!

NAMES
BEDTIME
"I wanted to wait to start this discussion until the girls were n bed," Eddie muses. "We haven't talked about names yet. Have you been thinking, lambchop?"
"What! Your other nickname for me is?"
"Well . . . sport, babe, hon, love, should I go on?"
"School."
"Oh . . . you mean Harvard?"
"We are always thinking, sweetheart."
"Oh, there was that one time-
Lips on lips – forget that!
"I really like Patrick Henry Reagan. You?" Eddie throws out there.
"Wow! That's a no brainer for me, Eddie." Jamie gets misty eyed.
"I expected that, babe. I don't have another one to suggest yet."
"We'll keep thinking?"
"Yes, Harvard. G'nite, 1-4-3."
"G'nite RG. 1-4-3."
"RG?"
"Rich girl."
She swats his chest, then snuggles closer.
