Author's note: Hellooo here am I, and it's time for another chapter! Yayy, well I've got nothing more to say, so let's hop right into it.
Carlisle was sitting on the sofa, watching the news when Edward entered the room.
Edward sat down on the sofa as well.
"Did you finish the so-called 'secret stuff' you were doing?" He asked, half joking, half serious.
"Yes I did, Edward." Carlisle said. "And what about you?"
"Me?" Edward asked.
"Have you gotten any gifts?" Carlisle asked.
"Oh that, yes I have. I bought earrings for both," he said.
Carlisle nodded.
"And you?" Edward suddenly asked, after a few minutes of silence.
"Oh, I bought 2 necklaces and a bracelet for Esme. I engraved them, and for Bella I'm not sure honestly. Esme wanted to take care of that, since she probably knows more about what to give a girl than I do." Carlisle said.
"Mhm" Edward said, not paying attention.
"Oh, btw. Where's Bella? And how about Jasper and Emmett, are they still doing that bet?" Carlisle asked.
"Bella got dragged into Alice and Rosalie's spa, I'm pretty sure they are almost finished with Esme. Jasper and Emmett are out hunting, and will probably be back soon." Edward said.
"Oh, goodie. Because we should probably get ready soon." Carlisle said, looking at his watch, showing 2:17 PM.
Edward nodded.
Renesmee stood at the door.
"Hi dad and grandpa," she said, rubbing her eyes. Renesmee looked like she was tired.
"Hello sweetheart" Edward said, making his way to her and lifting her up. She had grown.
"Where's mom?" She asked.
"She's with Grandma Esme, Aunt Rosalie and Aunt Alice, upstairs in the bathroom." Edward said.
"What are they doing?" Renesmee asked.
"Girl stuff" Edward replied.
"Can I join?" Renesmee asked.
"Trust me, I wouldn't" Edward said.
"But you're not a girl, daddy." She said.
Edward laughed.
"No, but I wouldn't even if I was a girl." He said.
"Why?" She asked, looking confused.
"Let's just say, they've been in that bathroom for a couple hours now," Edward said.
"I think around 11 hours is a more realistic answer," Carlisle said.
Renesmee looked at him.
"Wow that long?" She said, shocked.
"Yup, that's Alice and Rosalie," Edward said, shaking his head.
"But mom wouldn't use that much time in the bathroom," she said.
"Neither would Esme. It's not like they had a choice. As I know Alice and Rosalie, they probably dragged them in there. Besides, Esme and Bella haven't been there for as long. Esme's been there for around 4-5 hours, and Bella 2-3 hours." Carlisle said.
"I don't know how they bother, I would die of boredom after thirty seconds." Edward said.
"Me too. They probably are too, but who knows when Alice and Rosalie are letting them go." Carlisle said.
"I hope they are done soon," Renesmee said.
Carlisle went to grab a book and sat down reading.
After about 30 minutes, Jasper and Emmett walked in.
"What have we missed?" Emmett said.
"Oh, absolutely nothing. Well unless you want to be the next getting treated in Alice and Rosalie's spa." Edward said, rolling his eyes.
"I think I'll skip." Jasper said.
"Me too," Emmett said, sitting down on the couch.
"I think I'll send in a rescue team, if they don't finish soon." Carlisle said with a sigh. He just wanted to see Esme again. It had been many hours since last.
Edward grinned at his thought. Carlisle had forgotten he could read minds for a second.
"Well, if it's urgent I guess you could storm in, but I can assure you that Alice and Rosalie are going to beat you up. But no worries, I'm sure you'll see Esme soon." Edward said with a sparkle in his eye.
"Can you stop reading my mind for a minute, please?" Carlisle said.
"Sorry, no can do. Maybe you should think less? I'm sure she returns it." Edward said, smiling.
Carlisle sighed, while the others were confused, having no clue what the two of them talked about.
"Returns it, what? Can anyone explain what this conversation is about?" Emmett said, clearly confused.
"It's nothing. Carlisle is just overthinking everything as usual." Edward said, nodding.
"Edward! I am not overthinking" Carlisle said irritated, but staying calm.
"Yes, you are Carlisle." Edward said, calmly.
"What exactly?" Carlisle said. He regretted saying that instantly.
"Oh please, Carlisle. You know damn well ever since you met her in that hospital in 1911, she has been head over heels for you. So I don't understand why you're still doubting her feelings for you, it's very stupid. If you weren't blind, you would probably see how much her face lightens up everytime she sees you. No matter how much she loves us, you're always first priority. So now I need you to stop thinking so much, cause you're acting like you did back when you turned her. Completely blind, and you will lose her if you continue like this. If you doubt her love for you so damn much, i could tell you about all the conversations we have had. She's just like you!" Edward said, finally letting out everything he had wanted to say for decades.
Carlisle was speechless.
"Well uh, I don't know what to say. Uhm, ouch?" Carlisle said.
"And what exactly do you mean by that?" Edward said, irritated.
"You called me blind!" Carlisle said.
"Well you are," Edward, Emmett and Jasper said.
Emmett and Jasper had understood what they were talking about, and they knew as well as Edward did that Carlisle was indeed blind.
"Whatever, she's too good for me anyways" Carlisle said.
"And here we go again" Edward, Emmett and Jasper sighed.
"What are you all talking about, daddy?" Renesmee said. She was confused.
"It's nothing sweetie" Edward said, now dropping the subject.
Carlisle nodded.
Finally after a while Esme came down.
They heard her almost tripping on her way down the stairs, and looked in her direction.
"Wow," Carlisle thought.
Esme was absolutely stunning. Alice and Rosalie had done an amazing job. Esme was wearing a gorgeous light pink dress that had thin shoulder straps. With her caramel hair straightened, and some beautiful earrings. Her face was pale, as always. But she had beautiful makeup on, not that she wasn't beautiful without makeup… She also had pretty tall heels, which made it easy for Carlisle to understand why she almost tripped.
Carlisle just stood there staring, mouth open, not saying anything. Edward snapped his fingers.
"Wake up and stop drooling," Edward said.
Carlisle shook his head. "Sorry," he whispered.
Edward nodded.
"I'm not sure how I will be able to walk in these heels, but Alice insisted, and I couldn't refuse." Esme said.
"Damn, mom. Looking fine." Emmett said, grinning.
"Thank you Emmett," Esme smiled nervously.
Carlisle realized he growled a little at Emmett.
"Wow, easy there, dad. She's all yours." Emmett said, putting his hands up.
Esme looked nervous, slightly smiling.
"Oh no, what if I did something wrong?" Carlisle thought.
Edward just rolled his eyes. "You're fine Carlisle, her nervousness has nothing to do with you growling." Edward said, uninterested. He had gone through this so many times before.
"What?" Esme said, curious about what the boys were talking about.
"Nothing. You look nice, mom." Jasper said.
"Thank you, Jasper," she smiled.
Carlisle didn't say anything, he was still speechless. Like all words had disappeared.
"Are you okay, Carlisle?" Esme said, worried.
Everyone looked at him, where he stood with his eyes locked at Esme. He figured he had to say something, but he just didn't find the words.
"Hello! Carlisle to earth? It's disrespectful to ignore your WIFE." Edward said.
"Acting like you've never done that before." Carlisle mumbled, referring to last year. When he found words, this was what he said. He was being rude.
"What's wrong?" Esme asked.
"Sorry, Edward. That was rude of me to say, and I deeply apologize for my attitude towards you." He quickly said.
"It's nothing," Edward said.
"Oh and, Esme. You look uhm. Uh, uhm-" He couldn't find words.
"You look very b-beautiful." He finally said, after struggling finding words.
"Thank you," she said, smiling. "But I'm not too sure about these heels, they are killing my feet." She complained.
Carlisle chuckled. "That's Alice," he said.
"Indeed," Esme said.
"How's Bella doing in there?" Edward asked.
"Oh, I don't know. I believe she has a few so-called face masks left according to Alice and Rosalie, but who knows what they mean when they say 'few', if I'm right, I believe she'll be done in a couple hours." Esme said, grinning.
They all had quite a laugh.
"Well, they all better be done soon, cause we need to get ready to celebrate Mother's Day. Except from you Esme, as I see it. I believe you're already ready." Carlisle said, smiling.
"Oh, it is Mother's Day today?" Esme asked.
"You forgot?" Jasper asked.
"Kind of, I mean we haven't really celebrated the past years." She said.
"Well, now we are." Emmett said.
Carlisle nodded, while grinning.
