Hi, everybody! I am super duper stoked for you all to read this chapter! This was originally one chapter but I combined them. These two chapters are what started the story for me! I am particularly proud of the limo ride with Gi-hun, it made me fall in love with writing again! I was inspired by the hotel scene (and the accompanying score "No More Timeouts") from the film Out of Sight, which gave way to the title of this chapter.
Chapter Three: Out of Sight
Gi-hun leaned against the limo, finishing a cigarette as he waited for Honey. He probably shouldn't have taken this overnight gig, but there was a promising horse race tomorrow and he needed the extra cash. After all, Ga-yeong's birthday was coming up and he wanted to get her a nice present.
If I win big enough, I can start paying off these debts. It's been a while since those creepy loan sharks have been after me, I'd like to keep it that way.
"Hey, you."
Gi-hun looked up and the sight of the American heiress he would be driving stopped the world.
"Whoa."
Honey was wearing a black leather cropped jacket over a low cut spaghetti strapped red cocktail dress, adorned in sparkles and hugging her incredible curves in all the right places. Her long legs were accentuated in black satin lace-up stilettos, the look was topped off with a diamond choker around her neck that cost about the price of a small house. She walked with such confidence and poise, almost like she was on a runway.
"I hope I didn't keep you waiting too long?" Honey asked with a flip of her long brown hair as she approached Gi-hun.
"Uh, no." He scratched the back of his head before opening the door for her, attempting to remain professional. "Not long at all. Where are we headed?"
"That's a relief." She gave him a polite nod as she got into the limo and pulled out her phone. "I'm going to the Fairmont Ambassador. The address is-"
"Don't worry," Gi-hun cut her off. "I know the spot."
Once they were on their way, things were comfortably (but boringly) silent. Gi-hun wanted to initiate a conversation, but couldn't think of anything. What was there to say? He should be thankful that she was respectful and personable over acting like a complete diva, or even that she kept the partition down. This wasn't his first time driving a gorgeous woman to a late night date, but something about Honey stood out to him.
Having been staring out the window for the past few minutes, Honey wondered why he was so quiet. She was actually looking forward to chatting with him, it's the reason she didn't put the partition up. There was something about Gi-hun that was so sincere and inviting. In her world, that was something of a rarity.
"100,000 won for your thoughts?"
"Huh?" Gi-hun shook himself out of his daze and looked at her in the mirror.
"You seem pretty lost in thought, Gi-hun. Something on your mind?"
He hesitated before replying, should he be so honest? It was worth a shot to at least quell his own curiosity.
"I was trying to figure out whether or not it would be appropriate to ask who you're meeting."
Honey shrugged before looking down at her palms, a sly smirk on her face. "Sure, why not? Inquire away, my friend."
"Hot date?" Gi-hun asked boldly.
"What makes you think that? I could be on my way to track down Jeffrey Epstein's killer for all you know."
"You're pretty dressed up if that's the case."
"I have to be memorable somehow." Honey pulled out her makeup bag, knowing they would be there sooner than later since there was no traffic.
Gi-hun was grateful that they were at a red light because he couldn't take his eyes off of her. He was magnetized to how she would swipe the plastic wand back and forth, the perfect sheen of sparkling gloss coating those luscious lips. The barely audible pop that left her mouth sent shivers down his spine.
When she started putting mascara on was what really left him captivated. Fluffing her long, dark lashes that perfectly complimented her black kajal lined eyes. Honey was beautiful, but her eyes were in a league of their own. They were purely magnificent, swirled in colors of green and gold with a slight hint of blue, and in the most perfect almond shape.
Glancing up for the briefest second, Honey saw Gi-hun watching her before immediately snapping his attention away once the light turned green. Was he checking her out?
"I'm meeting up with the current man in my life. I haven't seen him in almost two months. It's strange," she shook her head, putting her makeup away. "I don't always feel right calling him my boyfriend, even though he pretty much is the closest thing to a boyfriend that I've had in some time."
"How long have you been together?"
"Fourteen months, but I'm unsure about our future. He lives here and I'm in California, so we're geographically undesirable."
Honey looked down on her phone screen at a picture of the two of them kissing on an all white rooftop in Santorini from their one year anniversary trip. They really did make a great couple when they were together, but she was lonely without him. The distance, indecision and secrecy of their relationship was rather stressful. Was he worth the fight?
"Long distance can be tough, so I've heard." Gi-hun remarked, still watching her.
"I do love him, and he says he loves me, but I don't know how much he actually means it. I wish he just had better self-esteem, he's a workaholic always trying to one up himself."
This was a conversation that she always tried to initiate and he would give her the brush off. He was at the top of his career and well respected within his field. All she wanted was for him to relax, it's why they were always traveling, he was more laid back in vacation mode. He had achieved everything he set out to do with his life and deserved to be happy, especially with her.
"If he asked, I'd marry him, though. In a lot of ways, he's perfect. Especially on paper."
Why am I telling him all this? I'm completely rambling.
"Sounds like a step up from that guy your dad wants you to marry."
As soon as the words left his mouth, Gi-hun immediately regretted them, especially when he saw Honey's facial expression.
Why did I say that?! You're an idiot, Gi-hun. An actual idiot. I shouldn't have let her know I was listening.
There was a pause as Honey wracked her brain of what else was said only hours before.
"How much of that conversation did you hear?" she finally asked.
"All of it."
"At least you got some good entertainment."
"You're not mad?" Gi-hun felt relieved over the shake of her head.
"You don't seem like the kind of guy that would go to the press for a fast buck, even if you had every reason." She let out something of a scoff. "I can imagine the headlines now. "Asshole Father Tries To Control Daughter's Life". It practically writes itself."
He shrugged. "No reason to say anything. I can imagine that when my daughter is your age, I'll be having my own opinions on her dating life, but I do know that I would want her happiness."
"You have a daughter? I didn't notice a wedding ring."
Crap, did I just say that out loud?
"I do, she's turning 10 soon. Her mother and I divorced three years ago." Gi-hun looked up at Honey through the mirror. "Why were you looking for a wedding ring?"
"Bad habit, I guess. I have to make sure every guy checking me out isn't a complete tool."
"Who said I was checking you out?" He asked, a touch of playfulness in his voice, noticing the faintest tint of blush spreading across her cheeks.
Honey raised an eyebrow, her eyes narrowed at his gaze. "Who said youweren'tchecking me out?"
They both burst into laughter, melodious giggles filling the limo. It felt really good for the two of them to be able to laugh with somebody over something so minimal. Plus, Honey thought Gi-hun's wacky laugh was kind of adorable.
"Alright, you caught me." Gi-hun admitted. "I know you must hear this all the time, Honey, but you're a very beautiful girl."
Maybe he shouldn't have been so forward, but Gi-hun was feeling uninhibited.
"Thanks for calling me a girl, I haven't been feeling very girlish lately. I'm turning 30 next month and I just feel... old."
"Ahh, you're right. 30 is ancient." He chuckled, shaking his head at her. "Please tell me you're aware of how crazy you sound."
"In my fields of work, I have a shelf life. 30 might as well be 60. Besides, you're one to talk, you're not that much older than I am now. You're like 35, right?"
"Try 47."
"Shut the front door! 47?! Wow, you need to sell your anti-aging secrets to America, you would make a fortune!"
"Ha, thanks. Good genes, I guess."
There was another silence, with just the sounds of the car keeping them company. However, the silence didn't stop Honey's mind from wandering, wanting to know more.
"So...how come your marriage didn't work out?"
"Finances and irreconcilable differences. She remarried some guy that's a total square but makes decent money."
Gi-hun heavily sighed as he made a left turn. Would they still be together if his businesses hadn't failed, had he not been laid off, had he found a better job?
Although, there were times when he wondered if they had ever loved each other at all. Ending their marriage was the most sound decision, but it wasn't without a downside. Gi-hun knew their divorce took quite a drastic toll on Ga-yeong. She used to be such a happy little girl and now she was always so sullen.
At the end of the day, Gi-hun was well aware that the one he let down the most was his daughter. It was never his intention, it was just how life panned out. Hopefully, it wasn't too late to turn things around.
"Divorces are hard, I was around your daughter's age when my parents split. I often wonder what would have happened had my first marriage ended in divorce instead of widowhood."
"You were married before?" Gi-hun wasn't quite sure he heard her correctly.
Honey nodded. "For almost two years. He was a failed Scottish pop star that ended up becoming a moderately successful record producer. We met through my best friend's dad and the rest is history. He wasn't perfect but I loved him, loved him enough to have a lavish wedding at a castle in Scotland with over 200 guests and every major news publication, something I will never be doing again."
She didn't have the heart to tell Gi-hun the truth about her first husband. Hugo was an abhorrent, obstreperous, roaring alcoholic with a propensity for violence, bondage and curse words.
There were times when Honey still missed her first adult love. Her therapist had told her it was natural since so many feelings and so much time had been invested. Regardless, Honey knew that she could never forgive Hugo for all the pain and trauma he had inflicted upon her.
I never wanted things to end that way for us.
"I'm not bitter that I became a widow at an age most young women are starting their families. I've already accomplished enough for a lifetime, but I was sad for a while."
"Can I give you some advice?" Gi-hun was curious how Honey's first husband died, especially when she didn't say the cause, but he didn't want to prod.
"I'm all ears."
"I know it's easier said than done, don't let the past scar you. You went through something pretty heavy, but you're young enough to start over. Whether it's with this guy now or some other guy in the future, you'll be fine. I've only been around you a few hours, but I can tell you're a good girl."
She saw his smile in the mirror, one of encouragement and hope. This guy really had a lot of heart, and he was so easy on the eyes.
"I appreciate that." Honey looked up at the interior lights. "Do you believe in life after love, Gi-hun?"
"Isn't that a song?"
"Indeed it is, but a valid point nonetheless."
He paused for a moment, mulling over her words. "Yeah, I do. Of course there is, because how would people carry on and fall in love again after the first time they were left broken hearted?" He looked at her in the mirror. "I think the question is ifyoubelieve it."
"I believe it, but what IS love? It's fleeting, don't cha think?"
"It can be," Gi-hun replied. "but when you're in the moment, it's pretty fucking great."
Things weren't always bad, they were so hopeful at the beginning over the chicken shop and snack stand. Why, why did it have to fail? Why was his life always a series of failures?
"I think we inherently desire the same thing."
"Absolutely, everybody just wants to be loved." Gi-hun made a right turn. "To find somebody that they can be themselves with, no matter their flaws."
"Somebody that will smile when they walk through the door, laugh over stupid things, kiss the tears away and know all the places to touched." Honey looked out the window again. "You don't have to worry about me. I've always been a hopeless romantic, my heart has never been closed off to love, but..."
"But... what?"
She sighed heavily. "It's a different story for somebody like me versus somebody like you. With my position in life, my vulnerability is rendered to leeches and vultures. Even my boyfriend now financially benefits off of me. Everybody wants to be rich, but nobody ever talks about how it gets super depressing and lonely. I've had a normal enough life within my family name, I'm not sheltered, but I feel like very few people actually know the real me."
It wasn't easy being a recognizable figure from one of the wealthiest families in the world. Her status and value were of the utmost importance in comparison to anything that she had achieved. This was certainly limiting in the way of her heart.
"We're here."
Gi-hun tried to hide the disappointment in his voice. Twenty minutes flew by in five, time was so cruel to be so short.
Honey frowned sadly as Gi-hun got out of the car. They were having such an honest conversation, it was refreshing and neither one of them wanted it to end.
"You ready?"
She looked over to see Gi-hun waiting with his hand out and turned her frown upside down.
It's so nice to see a guy with manners.
"Definitely." Honey took his hand, stepping out of the limo and looking up at the three towered chrome hotel, paneled in black and red. She noticed that Gi-hun held her hand for a moment before letting go. "Thanks."
"You're welcome."
"Do I have you all night? I'm not sure how long I'll be up there. If it's longer than expected, you'll be compensated double."
"It's fine." Gi-hun looked down on her. "Give me a call when you're done, I'll be here."
"Cool. Fingers crossed." She crossed her fingers before walking towards the hotel, but Gi-hun couldn't let her leave just yet.
"Oh, Honey?"
"Yes?"
He wanted one final look, in case she changed her mind and decided to send him home.
"He's gonna be really happy to see you."
Honey flashed him her gorgeous megawatt smile, eyes sparkling and dimples popping. Her smile was everything, it could take home Olympic gold, and now some ungrateful bastard was going to get it.
"I hope so. Thanks, Gi-hun."
She kept that smile as she turned around, feeling better about things and knowing what talks had to be had tonight if this relationship was going to go anywhere promising.
Gi-hun watched until the doors closed behind Honey before shaking his head in annoyance and pulling the pack of cigarettes out of his jacket pocket.
"Just my luck." He said aloud to nobody as he lit up a cigarette. "I meet the impossible dream girl and she's taken."
Even though he knew they had a moment, Gi-hun also knew nothing could ever happen. She made more money in a day doing nothing than he had in his entire work history. If only things could be different...
Walking down the blackened hall of the 8th floor, Honey embraced the essence of a confident woman and complete sex kitten. Gi-hun's glances weren't as subtle as he thought, because she caught all of them.
He's a little rough around the edges, but he's a nice guy. A very nice guy... and kind of sexy, too.
God, what is up with me? Snap out of it, Honey! You shouldn't be ogling the limo driver when you have a boyfriend.
She shook her thoughts away, regaining focus. Adjusting the top of her dress to further plunge her ample cleavage and primping her hair one more time, she knocked on the door of Room 812.
Honey's first reaction when he opened the door was to jump in his arms, but she had to play it cool.
"You know... I'm not sure if this whole business colleague roleplay is super tantalizing, totally boring or quite risky."
Her dark knight leaned against the door frame, eyeing her up and down. "If that was role play, how was I supposed to stay in character when you wore that skirt?"
"Well, sir." Honey sauntered past him and into the hotel room, taking in the wood and marble walls and stylish yet minimal decor. "I think you'll like what's underneath this more than the skirt."
"Now, hold on just one second, young lady." Sang-woo closed the door, walking towards her.
She knew her heartbeat increased with his every step, but it truly skyrocketed at the touch of his hands on her shoulders and how he turned her around.
"Let me get a good look at you."
"Get a good look at me? You were just sitting across from me for the past two hours." Honey licked her teeth as she eyed his mouth, feeling the electricity from his smoldering eyes.
"Yeah, but your dad and brother were right there," Sang-woo put his hand on her cheek, grazing her lip with his thumb. "I couldn't do this."
His gaze darkened as he closed the space between them with a fervent kiss. Sang-woo hardened over the moan that emitted from her mouth when both of his hands landed firmly on her little ass, savoring the taste of her strawberry vanilla lip gloss.
Her hands traveled up his face, gripping his hair and pressing her body closer to his muscular frame. She was thrilled over the fact that he was rock hard when her knee brushed up and down his length.
"Why didn't you?" Honey asked once they separated, her hands on his shoulders. "My father would have had a heart attack and we could have split his billions."
Sang-woo let out a dry chuckle. "I've missed that morbid sense of humor." He murmured in between kissing her neck.
"It doesn't sound like such a bad idea when I say it aloud, especially with how he behaved tonight."
"I know." He nodded, pulling her in for an embrace. "I'm so sorry, my love."
Even though the two of them wanted nothing more than to rip each other's clothes off and go to pound town, they both knew Honey needed this right now.
Sang-woo had been very young when his father died, but he found it despicable how Sage and Honey were treated by Jonathan earlier. While he respected his business acumen, Sang-woo thought Jonathan Diamond was a heartless prick.
"I wanted to go after you."
The weights of her world diminished in his arms. At this point, Honey had been hurt by her father so many times that there was no room left to cry.
"It's better that you didn't. I swear, the only way he will ever be happy is if he could completely control my life." Honey rested her face on his chest, melting into his warmth.
"That's his problem." Sang-woo put his hand on the back of her head. "He knows you're too strong willed to ever let that happen, it's why he's such an asshole."
"I agree, but let's forget him." Honey pulled her jacket off her shoulders and threw it to the side. She wasn't going to let her father ruin any more of her evening. "I don't want to think or talk about Jonathan Diamond, and I know you don't, either."
Reaching behind her back, she unzipped her dress, letting it drop to the floor. She loved the look on his face at the sight of her rose pink lace and fishnet teddy.
"The only thing I want you to focus on right now, Cho Sang-woo,"
Her eyes held his infatuated stare when she took off his glasses, the steel frames no longer blocking his entire view. Twisting the front of his shirt to pull him closer to her level, she walked them backwards to the king sized bed.
"is how good and how many times you're going to fuck his daughter."
Honey leaned up and kissed Sang-woo, gently at first while his hands traveled all over her body. Her hand slipped down the front of his pants, gripping his erect cock, her thumb swiping the precum from his tip. His first instinct was to quiver from her touch, but he couldn't allow her that much satisfaction.
Throwing off his belt, Honey proceeded to rip his shirt fully in half to reveal his sexy abs, her urgency for him intensified. Sang-woo didn't seem to mind about his shirt while he gripped her hair, their tongues crossing back and forth in each other's mouths when he remembered something he wanted to try tonight.
"Wait until you see what I have in store for you, little girl."
He reached across the night stand and grabbed his tie from earlier in the evening, ignoring the semi-concerned look on her face.
"I don't know, Sang-woo. I'm worried it could-"
He shook his head to silence her. "You need to trust me on this, Hon." Sang-woo covered Honey's eyes with the tie, leaning into her ear. "Believe me when I say you'll be begging to do this again." He whispered, nipping her earlobe and tying the satin before laying her down on the bed.
The world was now draped in emerald green, but once his lips landed on Honey's again, the experience was heightened ten fold. She always enjoyed his sweet kisses, just as much as the ones fueled by passion.
Moving from her lips to her collarbone and down to her breasts, Sang-woo thrust into Honey as he simultaneously yanked the straps down on her one-piece, the absence of the fabric revealing her naked body to him. He stood up and grinned wickedly at his American vixen, taking a moment to admire her in just a pair of heels. Both Sang-woo's ego and libido were at an all time high, he had her exactly where he wanted her. And yet, somehow she was still... so innocent.
He was mesmerized by the tanned smoothness of the sight in front of him, the contours of her body leaving him enthralled. "Wow. A trip to Brazil? I think I'll like it even better the second time." Sang-woo said with something of a smirk before spreading her legs apart, slowly kissing up from her ankles to her thighs.
His skillful tongue pleasured her immensely, his teeth sucking her clit. Her legs started trembling, making him hold her down by the ankles.
"Zaddy, don't tease me too long." Honey squirmed.
The forces of passion pushing her to the edge felt quite delicious. It was a real shame that Honey was blindfolded, because all she wanted to see was her sexy investment banker with his head in between her legs.
Her hands snaked down to Sang-woo's head, his soft and thick hairs sliding between her thin fingers, allowing his tongue to slide deeper inside and send her spiraling.
"Oh, my God... yes, you gorgeous son of a bitch."
All the things she wanted to say to him flooded her mind, Honey made herself push it away for now. While they had important matters to discuss, it could wait. It had been almost two months since their last visit, and neither one of them were backing down.
She restrained a whimper over the exit of his mouth, knowing that what was in store was so much better. Sang-woo shoved his pants down to his ankles, leaving him in the buff.
To him, Honey was quite stunning, but once Sang-woo got her on all fours, he was reminded of her only major flaw: a ridiculous Dumbo tattoo on her lower back. One of Sang-woo's favorite positions was doggy style, and the image of that adorable baby elephant with the giant ears and watery eyes staring back at him while he was pounding this beautiful woman was something of a mood killer.
"Mmm, Honey." He groaned as he slid inside his heiress, the snug fit of her womanhood swallowing his thick rod. "Take it all."
Honey bit her lip upon his entry, arching her back down, his full length filling her. With the exception of Peppa, most of her friends hated doggy style, but Honey loved it.
Sang-woo palmed her ass, gliding in and out of Honey with his thrusts synchronized to her moans. The confusion of the blindfold made this all the more erotic, with her only focus being his skillfull movements.
With a twist of her dark tresses, Sang-woo had Honey leaning back on her heels, making her quake over the penetrating sensation of his perfect dick.
"You begged me not to tease you, but you certainly had fun teasing me earlier, didn't you?" His hands groped her round D cups, her nipples tightening from his fingertips.
He was, of course, referring to her under the table antics at dinner earlier. It was titillating, but he regretted not leveling the playing field.
While he had her at that angle, Honey took the opportunity to get Sang-woo up against the headboard as she settled into his lap. Ripping off the tie, she tossed it across the room while undulating her hips, riding him slowly.
"Did I say you could take that off yet?" He growled in her ear, his hand lightly wrapping around her neck, only to be met with a sly grin.
"Aww, Sang-woo... you're so cute when you think you're in charge."
Sang-woo roughly slammed upwards inside Honey for her back talk, but she was further aroused.
"Don't be such a sore loser. You like it just as much when I'm on top." Honey rolled herself on his length, kissing up from his neck to his mouth as Sang-woo's hand loosened its grip on her neck, landing on her hips to control her movements.
Sang-woo would never admit that Honey being a switch delighted him. It was exactly like her to rise to the challenge, but ultimately, he held the power... or so he thought. At least, it had been what he always wanted for himself, for every aspect of his life. Now, he had close to nothing.
"Did you hear me?"
"What?" He snapped out of it, disappointed that she stopped riding him.
"You kind of went into your own little world just now." Honey brushed his bangs away. "Is everything alright?"
If only she knew the thoughts running through his head, every minute of every fucking day. Right now, in this moment, Honey was the only thing allowing his mind any peace.
How could I have screwed things up so monumentally?
Her presence, her laugh, her smile. It gave him that warm feeling, the one he had always written off as weakness to keep his eye on the prize. In hindsight, if he had taken the route, would he have had a better life than his current lie?
"I was just thinking of how damn beautiful you are," Sang-woo cupped her cheeks in his hands, gazing into her eyes. "I missed you quite a bit, yeobo."
Before she could speak, he pulled her close, sealing his words in a kiss. Caressing her back, he was prompted to roll them over so he was on top. Sang-woo had never been the most vocal one in any of his past relationships, this was one of the few ways he showed love.
Pinning Honey's wrists above her head, the desire for domination escaped him and was replaced by connection, feeling at one with his woman.
Honey tossed her head back as they made love. Sang-woo wasn't always the best boyfriend, but he was her most refined lover. He was so finely attuned with her body, always knowing exactly what she wanted without her ever having to say anything. She always cherished these tender times with him.
"Sang-woo..." she mewled in his ear, clutching his broad shoulders before the ability to form words deserted her mind when her climax hit.
White heat exploded behind her eyes as Sang-woo followed from her tightness wrapped around him. His cock spasmed inside her, branding Honey with his seed, the room scored with their sounds of passion.
Their ragged breaths mingled together, both of them were completely spent after such an arduous tidal wave, deep black eyes staring into green-gold orbs.
"Welcome back, gorgeous." Sang-woo mumbled as he rolled off of her and closed his eyes, lazily pulling Honey into his side. While only temporary, he allowed the pleasant distraction from his problems.
Honey laced her fingers with his, looking at her small hand in his large palm. "I missed you, too, my dark knight." The last thing she did before drifting off to sleep was kiss his hand, a smile on her face.
