The roads were wet from the rain the night before, when Avrail and Mike were on there way to the Forks sport store that day. It been a week since their visit with Terrance, and they still didn't know which choice they would make. When they were at the store Avrail got out of the car, then went to get Terran out too. She watched as Mike was lifting a few boxes out of the trunk, and after closing the trunk he went inside the store. Avrail walked along side him and when she got to the desk the first shift worker was cashing a customer out. After a few more customers the employee left for the day. Mike did inventory and Avrail stayed up front with Terran. After a few minutes a women came through the door, and went to talk to Avrail, When she was at the counter, She said hello to Avrail, then she asked if she heard the news about a attack a few days ago. Avrail replied that she hadn't and asked what happened. The customer told her that a man's car had broken down a few days ago between Seattle and Forks. He was pulled over when a gentleman approached him from the side of the road and asked if he needed any help. The gentleman replied no, and the man became aggressive, and after a few altercations the car man won. Avrail replied that was wonderful.
Later that day after getting home, Avrail asked Mike what he decided about Terrance's shot. Mike said that he wanted to try it and see if it was something that worked. Avrail said that the shot sounded like a good thing, but he needed to be careful of any side effects. Mike replied that he would and that the shot had a limited number of bonds in it, and Terrance assured him that it was safe. Terrance was sleeping in his car seat and she took it into the living room. They had stopped at the diner on the way home and the sun was long gone. She told Mike that she was heading upstairs to put Terran to bed and he replied that he would be up their soon. She put Terran in his crib, and then went to get into bed. She turned on the television and there was a documentary about the ice age, and it had a image of the planet during that time. She turned the channel to a movie that was beginning, a comedy, and Mike walked in soon after. He climbed into bed with her, and asked if she could find a more action packed movie, she laughed than asked what he was thinking of watching, he replied that he was fine with that one. After a few minutes she lifted her head from his shoulder and kissed it, he responded and kissed her, while shifting her along with him, into a leaned pillow position, she kissed him for awhile then, she a sweat slicked position under him. After wards she had settled onto his chest and began to fall asleep.
The next day after leaving the Forks sporting store, Mike told Avrail that he called Terrance before they left that morning and told him his decision. Terrance said they could come by that weekend. Avrail thought that was a close date and she didn't know he wanted it to be that fast. Mike replied that he wanted to know what the shot was like before there community picnic that was coming soon.
They were at Terrance's the next weekend. They were sitting outside the doors because, Terrance had a long line of people getting the shot. Almost 80 people had been there waiting for the new drug. She was pushing Terran in his stroller, when she heard Mike get called by the Doctor. They both went inside and the doctor asked them to take a seat next to his desk. After sitting, he explained to them that the shot didn't have any serious side effects and it could take almost a week to see the full effect of the drug. Terrance had set up training for after the drug took affect, if they were interested in joining that group. Mike replied that he would talk to Terrance about it. Dr. Curpis then set up his station, then asked Mike if he was ready, Mike said yes, and after he had the shot, he got a band aid on his arm. The doctor said he was all done. When they left the room Avrail saw that more people had shown up. They walked to their car, and waited in line for the cars to leave the parking lot.
On the way home Avrail asked Mike if he was feeling anything yet. Mike replied that he wasn't. There was a limb from a tree in the road up ahead and Mike was able to dodge it, she watched as his hands moved across the steering wheel and thought that he had a more precise position than he did before he had the shot. She didn't know though, so she would wait until he knew.
