When Avrail woke up, Mike was in the bathroom. It had been a week since they had visited Dr. Curpis. Avrail had seen evidence of Mike's new agility since the beginning, but Mike started seeing it at day three. He noticed a new ability to lift with ease, and he was more aware of what was happening in the area. Avrail had been a good pinpoint for Mike's improved sense's. He had been very cuddly and saying he couldn't get enough of her presence. He sat by her on the couch with a positional closeness. Mike came out of the bathroom and started getting ready for the day. He said that they were heading into the store early because there was a inventory coming in that he wanted to be their for it. Avrail told she would be ready in a hour, and he said that was fine. Mike went down stairs and Avrail got up and went to the bathroom.
They were at the Forks Sporting store when someone came in and said that he needed help bringing a canoe in that he needed to return. Mike came out of the back room, then asked what was wrong with the canoe. The gentleman replied that it had started leaking after getting it on the water. Mike told sometime they leak on and off, but he would help him bring it in for the return. Avrail picked up Terran then went out side to watch Mike with the canoe on the back of the gentleman's truck. A few other people were outside. When Mike helped pick up his end of the canoe, it was lifted higher and left the gentleman's hand s for a moment. Mike lowered the Canoe back to a reachable position for the gentleman. They brought it inside, and Avrail came in behind them. Mike asked the gentleman if he wanted a trade or store credit for the merchandise. The gentleman replied he would like store credit. Mike went to the register and gave the man a card for store credit. The gentleman left soon after the exchange. Avrail noticed that he was saving the store credit for another day. She went over where Mike was standing and asked if he noticed lifting the canoe higher. Mike replied that he did notice. Avrail said that she was sure that nobody on the street thought anything about the incident. Mike agreed then went back to inventory.
It had been two weeks and they were heading to Terrance's training camp. When they pulled up to the camp, She saw a group of people heading to the barn where the doctor was. Avrail got Terran out of the car and Mike got his stroller out of the trunk. They walked to the area where Terrance was standing, and listened as the couple he was talking to told Terrance that the drug hadn't helped them. Terrance said that it was different for everyone, and they had a ninety percent success rate. He said they should wait another week then he might suggest a second dose. The couple replied positively then walked away. When Terrance saw them, he told them they were going to enjoy the new training practice he set up. He asked them if they were ready to become more knowledgeable about vampire wars. Mike replied that they were ready. Terrance led them to the brick building where he the first vampire was. They ended up in the viewing room, and there was 20 other people in there also. Avrail watched as a Chinese vampire was led into the arena, there was a fighter who came out and started mimicking the vampires moves. He ended up pinning the vampire down. After the show there was a announcement that anyone who had the shot, could come to the stage and feel the vampires strength. Mike went behind 5 other people that were in the room to the stage. The vampire was confined in a chain link for everyone's safety. Avrail watched as the first person went to the vampire and gripped his arm. He thrashed and the gentleman hardly budge. After four more people had touched the vampire, it was Mike's turn. Mike went over to the vampire then put his hand on the vampires arm. The vampire shook him off, and Mike tried to grab his hand. The vampire reacted and tried to break free of the chain he was being held by. Mike returned to where she was soon after and Avrail asked what it was like. Mike replied that It was different than what he would expect. They left arena soon that and after saying goodbye to Terrance, they headed to their car.
After getting home Avrail noticed that Eda had called while they were out. Avrail played the answering machine to their home phone. Eda had wanted to talk about what Angela and Eric were doing for their anniversary. Avrail followed Mike outside with Terran, and they sat the fire pit. Mike had started it and it was burning hot. Avrail heard the wolves howling. Soon the wind in the trees started to drown out the wolves noise. Avrail put her head back on the chair and listened to the wind.
