The drive to Olympia was four hours and they had two stops on their map. Mike turned on the radio and it was talk show about the supernatural. The man was saying that the strength behind the attacks was remarkable. He went onto say that the position that the attacker took was practiced, almost like a stalker. Mike turned off the radio after that. The car in front of them were pulling into the first stop. Mike pulled in behind him and Avrail got out to try nursing the baby. She sat in a chair by the car that Mike brought with them, and Mike went to find a bathroom to use. When he came back he asked if the baby nursed, Avrail replied yes, he did.
When they pulled up to the training site, it had more than 15 buildings, and she a group at the front with vampire t-shirts on. Mike got the stroller out of the trunk, then she put the baby in it. They walked with the group to where Terrance was heading. When he stopped next to the third building he was talking to a man, after a few minutes he introduce the man as Quest, the handed Mike a flyer with a map of sites to visit. He told them he would back in 3 hours to head home. Avrail looked at the map Mike was holding. it had a few labels that Avrail was interested in, the illusion building, the arena, and the diet building.
Avrail and Mike decided to try the illusion building first, They went inside and there was a walkway to a large room, after entering they saw it was divided with a piece of glass. The other side was similar to a maze with open sections and big rooms to connect the smaller rooms. A announcer came on soon after, and said that the show was about to start. The lights went low and a vampire came out with the lights flashing over him. Avrail notice the the walls of the maze were painted with blended colors. The announcer said that this was about their blending techniques and he asked the group to pay attention to the lights flashing over head and how the vampire chose where to start his path from. The vampire was running all over, and he gave pause to the lights flashed. The softer tone is when he blended in the most. The next announcement he made, he said that two men would be in and out the maze, wearing one gray shirt and one navy blue shirt. The two men came out and she could see that the grey shirted man was harder to find. The lights were flashing, and if they were caught, they gave the vampire a shove then left the area.
The next area they were heading to was the diet building. After entering the she noticed that the display room was smaller, and there were shelves in the room with a small door behind them. She saw that the show would begin in 5 minutes and told Mike that the doors had a small bit of blood on them. Mike gave her a small hug and wiggled Terrans rattle he was holding. A door in the room opened, and a vampire was let into the room. A announcer came on after that and said he would show us how the vampire reacted to food that had different diets. There were 8 doors, and they opened and they put the 8 bags out at once, he had went for the second bag on the first shelf first, and he chose the first five carefully, then the last three taken at once. He said that the first bag was a dehydrated persons blood, then he went on to describe the last seven. The door opened and the vampire was allowed to leave, but he stayed.
When they walked into the arena it was similar to Terrance's fight room. It had a viewing of three different area's. The show started and all three area's had a person and vampire music was a beat of suspense.
After they left the arena, they sat on a bench in the park and Avrail fed the baby.
When it was time to head home, Terrance was waiting at the front of the training center for everyone. A lady passed out a new map for the return ride. Then Avrail walked behind Mike to their car. On the way home it was getting dark and it was getting colder than earlier too. It was four hours later that they were at Terrance's training center, they got out of the car, and walked over to where Terrance was standing, he was making a speech about what he wanted for the future of the vampire research work that was getting finished. After the speech, Avrail and Mike said goodbye to Terrance, and headed back to forks.
When they arrived, she got the baby out of the car, and although he was tired, she sat outside with the baby and Mike for a bit. The fire pit was going and they heard the wolves howling. Mike said a funny joke about the things that could be hiding in the dark. Avrail laughed and said she wasn't worried, she had him to keep her safe. They headed up to bed a hour later, and as she snuggled into Mike, she thought of how similar her life was to before she knew of the new inhabitants of forks.
