Hi hi! Instead of finishing that chapter for one of my KH stories, I had been playing with two different ideas. Wanted to see if more could be added, even though there's a lack of a firm story to tell. This is the second one I'm posting, but much like the first, it's rough.
For now, enjoy another new messy and likely typo filled piece!
Title: A Moment Of Doubt 3 - Part 1 On Chapter 18
Type: Story - Three Shot
Summary: "How could Ran's husband leave her all alone like that? She's absolutely in tears… NO! I won't stand for this! I'm going to give Shinichi-kun a piece of my mind!"
Or in other news, Sonoko can't trust that their date in Tropical Land will go well and decides to spy on them.

It's been more than a day since the whole, "she's now half the size of a half pint," incident. But of course, what was she to do while waiting around in either Kudo's or the professor's house? She couldn't exactly go out like usual, not because it wasn't normal for a child to go out, but because it was a school day. They'd think she was skipping classes and then there'd be a whole awkward conversation and bringing her back to the police. No thank you for that experience again! So, she's been here at the Kudos' mansion, having only his old childhood clothes to wear and a lonely house to babysit. Not very exciting now, is it. But again, she's, what, five? Six? Seven even? She's really sixteen, but her body kinda felt younger than that, ehh, she'd just go with ten years backwards to make it easier. Okay, she's settling on six-years-old.
Her sidetracked thoughts get interrupted by the door as it opens and in walks Shinichi with a couple of shopping bags in hand. So that's why he was late? He went shopping? Her keen eyes caught the sight of the brands, and oh?! Those were designer brands! She didn't even realize Shinichi-kun had such good taste! His usual fashion choices were often oddly mismatched and strange, but then again she blames it on his mom's career as an actress. She bet Shinichi got dragged to a few fashion shows too many and that skewed his perception of what was normal fashion. Though, his clothes in grade school were more stylish than his now teenage fashion, so he probably just stopped caring about what he wore and simply wore it. That was a more likely answer to his fashion disasters.
"Heh? Shinichi, what is all this?" She had to ask even though she knew what to expect.
"Hey, Sonoko. I didn't think you'd want to keep wearing my old stuff, so I got some clothes for you to wear until we can figure out your situation."
"I'm surprised really," sifting through the bag she comments impressed, "with your fashion sense, I kind of expected something more loud and mismatched."
"Oi Oi! What do you mean? My fashion sense is great!"
She chuckles teasingly, "Yeah, if you're trying to look like you stepped off the pages of a kiddie's coloring book."
"Oi!"
She ignores him, rummaging through the bag as she sees very sensible shirts, shorts, skirts, dresses, socks, shoes, headbands, and scrunchies. Wait, did he get a skort too? Ugh, never wearing that, ever… Okay, maybe if she ends up playing a sport maybe, but not on casual occasions! Ohh! There was even a Fusae children's sized handbag. For the most part, he really outdid himself with picking. Though as she organizes the clothes, she becomes puzzled about something.
"Hey, Kudo-kun. Is that all?"
He looks embarrassingly at her, knowing full well what she was implying. "Umm… I didn't…. You know… want to get those by myself. You can come with me next time to pick some out."
"Ah." She sighs but agrees. Nothing more was spoken about the topic.
"Well, I'll just get these washed and you can get them from the dryer when they're done."
"Great, thanks!"
As Shinichi got everything back together and headed over to the washroom to get the clothes all cleaned, she took the opportunity to think to herself. It's been a few days and she hasn't heard anything about her family. Fortunately, they're very use to her going out for some time, whether to one of their vacation villas, resorts, or some other Suzuki owned business for a few days. But it was coming to the point that she's been out way longer than she should have been. By now, her parents must have been getting concerned. Shinichi had covered for her for the time being, but how much longer till her whole situation got serious? I mean, a few days are nothing. A week, may be pushing it. If this lasted a few more weeks to a month, that was definitely big trouble on the way. She definitely couldn't go back though, not while stuck as a child. Those organization goons would probably catch wind of it… But then again, even when she was knocked out, they failed to take off her wig, so there was a chance they thought she was simply a random person to do away with. But they took her phone, so no doubt that could be used to identify her. Unless they crushed it to leave no evidence behind? But then again, they also had the camera too, so…
"Hey, Sonoko. Uhh, are you, okay?" Shinichi looks at her, concerned as he places some school assignments he took for her down on the table.
She shrugs, "Okay? Yeah, I'm okay. After all, I'm a six-year-old, with nothing but time and so many worries on my shoulders. Who cares if I'm missing and no one's asked for me in a minute, other than Ran and the school of course. Who cares that the youngest daughter of the Suzuki family hasn't been heard from because they believe she's being frivolous and probably spending her days goofing off somewhere. Who cares to think that maybe I'm in actual danger and maybe it'd be bad if they found out I was alive in the first place. Even if they recognized me with my disguise on, they took my stuff and probably could have determined my identity by my phone's data, or the camera, or even my DNA. SO, if you're asking me if I'm okay? I'm totally OKAY, KuDO! I'm ABSOLUTELY FINE!"
Shinichi grimaced, "Riiigghhhtt," before sighing, "Well, your situation is pretty unbelievable."
She pouts, "Just be glad it wasn't you, Kudo. After all, I bet you'd be the worst chibi ever, especially if you keep chasing after cases. You'd be found out in no time!"
"Oi! Oi!"
She smirks, "Just stating facts!"
He shook his head, "But anyway. Back to your situation," Sonoko looks up now attentive, "I've done what I can to keep anyone out for now. Ran has been the hardest to distract since she keeps wanting to come over. Fortunately, the Karate club is keeping her preoccupied and away from trying to find you, but…"
"She's eventually going to find out."
"Exactly." she nods as he continues, "Now for your situation, Hakase was able to get in touch with some people he knows and is able to get you some papers. You know, for the more legal matters while you're a child. By the way, are you sure this is the name you to go with?"
"Why? Because I refused Irene, Hudson, Violet, Kitty, and any other name that came from Sherlock Holmes?"
"I mean, those were the easiest ones I could think of at the time. But, if you still went with a western name in the end. Are you confident with your English to keep your cover?"
She raised a brow, "You think I can't? I'm a Suzuki, Kudo. Although I'm the youngest, I've been trained for the business and to help aneki. So of course I know English."
Shinichi shrugged, "Alright. Well, the papers are done and we should probably get you use to your new name. You're going to need to get use to it when you start school."
"I still can't believe I have to do that."
"Better than hiding out here or at Hakase's for who knows how long?
She sighs, "Oh fine. But did it really have to be Teitan Elementary?" He nods, "Fine. I'll practice my introduction then, but just for you, it's in English. Here it goes: Hi there, it's nice to meet you! I'm Serena Belle, and I'm six-years-old. Hope to get along with you."
"Wow, that was surprisingly good! The first name, last name was a nice touch too."
She crosses her arms as she cheekily smiles and puffs out her chest, "Told you so!"
But still, even as she continued this conversation with Shinichi about what was to come for her life, discussed how much longer she was going to play keep away till she knew what to tell her parents, and get over the fact that she had to enter the first grade for the second time in her life, she couldn't help but feel there was much more to come on the horizon. What was in store for this new lifestyle change?

Bonus:
She fiddles with her latest gift from that man; a camera that was swiped during one of their missions. He said it was, "A souvenir due to her creation." In other words, another reminder of a life that was lost to that pill. Scrolling through the device, she notes it's still brand new and the only photos were of a familiar teenage detective from the news alongside a girl, possibly his girlfriend, on a date. The resolution of the pictures were amazingly clear and the focused shots were beautiful. Even an amateur could take a careless shot and it would still come out high quality. It was pretty obvious that whoever took these shots was exactly that, since the composition and angling of the shots weren't quite right.
"Sherry." A man in a lab coat calls out to her.
She looks up and asks, "Still no clue?"
"Not much we can get since Vodka recklessly destroyed and burned the phone. Can't believe they used the experimental drug and got rid of most of the evidence as if it were their regular job, but we'll figure it out with what we lifted from the camera, and then confirm the status of the individual."
"Right. Let me know when you have something." The scientist nods and then walks out of her room. She sighs as she looks over the pictures once more. Something about those two was vaguely familiar beyond the newspaper reports. She recalls for some odd reason, a group of three and not just two.
When she comes to one of the earliest pictures, a blurry candid, accidental shot, she smirks.
"Oh? This is interesting."
She quietly deletes the picture and begins her research.
.
As said above, this idea is really, really rough. When Shinichi was shrunk, the big family name expectations and business obligations weren't a concern. But with Sonoko, that becomes something to consider. She may be the youngest and not likely to inherit the legacy, but she has a sense of duty to her family and the company. It's really a sticky situation and there's conflict on whether or not to get her family involved. For now, she's listening to the boys about keeping quiet, but what will she do later on? Also, how would her family react? Would they stand with and for her, fighting with their resources, or would going against the B.O. be their downfall?
Now for Sonoko, she's been between the professor's house and Shinichi's, that she's become a bit bored and frustrated about her situation. At least she's getting her missed assignments and notes so she doesn't fall behind. But, she's eventually going to have to get out and start doing something, so fake papers and a new name it is for her.
Couldn't come up with a good Japanese name so I went for a western one instead. "Serena," comes from her dub name and means clear, peaceful, and serene. "Belle" means beautiful, but if read plainly, it's another way of calling her a Suzuki, since its kanji translates to, "Bell Tree." Put together, "Serena Belle," becomes, a "clear bell." Also, her name can play off the simile, "clear as a bell," meaning, with time, everything in her life become sound and she'll understand what's going on.
As for the ending, let's just say it's a way for her to find out and investigate Sonoko on her own. Sonoko's definitely going to be upset she's not ever getting her phone back.
So many ideas for this and a bunch of other stories, but again, it all feels too disorganized to really explore at the moment. Again, if I do end up revisiting this, let's see where it goes. But if not, hope you enjoyed. If you'd like, let me know what you think. Thanks for reading and see you on another idea soon!
