"Huh, to think my life would change two times by an airship," Cualli mused, eyes
scanning the diverse crowd. As he stepped inside the airship, he couldn't help but feel
excitement and apprehension, leaning against a wall to steady himself.
"Cualli, over here." Aja's voice cut through the bustling crowd, and he turned to see her.
She was adorned in a striking lavender tunic, the fabric shimmering in the light and allowing
easy movement. The high collar and sleeveless design accentuated her lithe figure, while the
dark green cargo pants and lightweight boots hinted at her practicality. But the long, flowing
lavender cloak, fastened across her chest with a leaf-shaped brooch, truly caught his eye, its
color mirroring her tunic.
"Huh, it looks nice on you," Cualli commented, his eyes lingering on Aja's new huntress
outfit.
"Honestly, I was hoping you would go for something more relaxed than you have right
now," Aja said while eyeing his outfit. Her eyes landed on the cloak, and she chuckled," Looks
like we have the same idea."
Cualli laughs softly," Yeah, and I am not going to lie, I was playing Batman for a few
hours." Aja laughs back, and soon, everyone gets on the airship and takes off. Cualli's eyes
scan the crowd until they land on a familiar face, the same woman he saw in the police
department: an older woman he immediately recognizes. Aja notices his gaze," You recognized
her?" Aja said with a curious tone, a hint of curiosity.
"Yeah, I saw her in the police building last week when I was looking for something
sugary for you after I overdid my semblance that night, and the woman beside her was Yang.
We never talked, but we were classmates in combat class." Cualli said back to Aja before a
hologram showed the news about Roman Torchwick." huh, seeing him like that gives him a very
punchable face. It looks like a baby's face never changes. He looks smug… yep, very
punchable to me." Then, it was cut off by Goodwitch congratulating them on being accepted to
Beacon Academy, a place shrouded in mystery and adventure. They take in the view, their
hearts filled with excitement and nervousness. But before either of them gets comfortable, they
see a blond boy vomiting in the background, a sign of the unexpected challenges that await
them.
Either way, it soon landed, and everyone left the airship." So, are you going to talk to
Yang, or—?" Aja said to Cualli, and right when she said that Yang left with her friends, which
made Cualli laugh, Aja jabbed her finger in his side, making him stop," Hey, I am trying to help
you here you stay in your place either on your scroll or studying and trust me if we are put in a
team together I will force you to go out one way or another." Aja said in a severe tone while
using her semblance to summon a small vine wrapping around his ankle.
"Yeah, I know I will try, but let's get the whole orientation to get over with. You think they
could do icebreaker games?" Cualli told Aja, and she replied to him with a shrug before the two
entered the academy and sat through the orientation. Cualli wasn't taking a single word and
was just looking around at the new students. But one caught his eye: a massive man who had
short Bull horns but curved a little with broad shoulders, a wide back upwards, and a build that
put all focus on strength who spuriously looked the same age as himself and noticed the twin
gauntlets that looked like it was made to be transformed into one thing while having a bulky
design while still having high-density alloy and rows of names across the gauntlets and then
saw his outfit which is Heavy-duty fabric in dark charcoal while his pants are reinforced with
abrasion-resistant panels on the thighs and knees Thick, sturdy boots designed for stability and
impact A rugged leather jacket with a fitted design to accommodate his muscular build without
restricting movement while having armor plates subtly integrated into the back and shoulders,
protecting while allowing flexibility."God Damm, I know there is a saying that someone is a
corn-feed man, but whatever he does, he is massive!" Cualli mumbled under his breath.
Soon, they announced that everyone would be sleeping in a room until the teams
formed. They found themselves in a massive room, and everyone was either getting ready to
sleep or talking to each other." You got something in your mind, Cualli?" Aja said to him.
"Yeah, sort of; I always knew since I left vacuo my life would change. I am just now taking it in
since I live rather than survive. Living at Glynda's property was nice, but you know what I am
trying to say, right?" Cualli said back to Aja while looking around.
"Hmm, well, we all have to start somewhere," Aja said softly. So, do you want to start
now, or do I need to drag you to talk to someone?" Although her words were firm, her tone was
determined to help Cualli overcome his hesitations.
Cualli sighed, looked around, and saw the same bull faunus from orientation leaning
against a wall
" What about that wall of meat?"
Aja looked at the same person," Wow, he's big!" Aja said in surprise," So why him?" Aja
says back to Cualli, now wondering why he is not someone more approachable.
"Well, I was eyeing him while in orientation, and if he ignores me, I could at least see his
weapon because it has to be something heavy for how he looks," Cualli said to Aja before both
of them started to make their way to him and sees this man is sitting against a pillar and is
simply carving a small piece of wood and looks like the logo of Vale, Cualli takes a deep breath"
umm hey how's it going… where did you get that wood carving?" Cualli said nervously to the
faunus.
Bull Faunus looks up at Cualli." No, I made it myself." His eyes wander until they land on
Cualli's weapon." Never seen that before. Did you make it, or was it passed down?"
Cualli pulled out his weapon." Yeah, it was passed down from my sister; what about
yours? I noticed several names on your weapon in orientation."
"Yeah, sort of the same thing as mine, except it used to belong to my dad, and after
resizing, it belongs to me now. But I never got your name."
"Oh, I am cualli, and my friend is Aja," right when he turned and didn't see her." well, just me, I
guess… So, what's your weapon? I know they are gauntlets, but what's special about them."
Cualli said to him.
He pulls out his gauntlet," Well, for starters, they are two pieces that transform into twin
barrels that hold a missile like a rocket launcher. But what about yours? Is it just a macuahuitl,
or is it something more?" the Bull Faunus said to Cualli.
Cualli passes his weapon to him:" It's just how it is; it's personal, so I kept it the way it
was passed to me." Cualli says this when the Bull Faunus examines the Cualli weapon.
"Wait, so how do you fight with this weapon? This isn't a sword or club, so how?" the Bull
Faunus said confusingly.
"Well, think of it like a saw you can't stab or swing, so to make it work, I need to angle it
and pull back to count as a strike," Cualli said back to the Bull Faunus. But it's getting late, so I
am going to sleep. But what's your name? Mine is Cualli."
"Issac and night, Cualli," Issac said back to Cualli before getting ready to sleep, and
Cualli headed back to Aja, who was about to sleep.
"How did things go for you?" Cualli said to Aja.
"Good. I just went around and talked to people, and I met someone I think you would
like." Aja said softly before yawning.
"Oh, who are they?" Cualli said with a tilted head.
"Her name is Akrai, and she was playing with that one rogue game that you were
observed with during the summer," Aja said while texting someone before shutting off her scroll.
"Huh, well, let's hope she becomes a part of our team." After Cualli said that, he yawned
and slept through the night.
