"There appears to be a disturbance at the Happy Harbour power plant. I would like you to investigate." Red Tornado relayed to the team.
"On our way." Megan confirmed.
"Finnally something." Wally streched his arms getting ready. "Whose ready?"
Mordred summoned her sword. "Always."
Chapter 3: Mister Twister
The alien ship came in low to the powerplant as bursts of powerful winds blew out the windows. "By the throne, whatever is generating that force has some real power behind it." Mordred said resting Clarent on her shoulder.
"We need a plan... and where did Robin go?" Kidflash asked as he afixed hus goggles. A echoing giggle echoed from within the power plant. Mordred and the others
"Where did he... he was right here." Mordred said confused.
"Yeah... he dose that. Lets go." Auqalad ran into the power plant. Mordred and Kid Flash followed him in close, the speedster running ahead. The martian close to Superbo. Inside tge large open power plant there was Robin fighting a large mechanical man painted red and black, a brown scarf and bright blue tubes conected from back to massive gauntlets. With a blast of wind he blew away the young hero only to get kicked by Kid Flash.
"More children. When will the real hero get here." the villain said somewhat annoyed. Mordred lunged her blade sending sparks as the edge left a gash in the armor. "What the..."
"Not a child!" she followed up with a second slash only for the villain buffet her with wind Skidding back she drove the tip of her blade into the floor to keep her footing as Superboy launched himself at the villain. Only to be caught in the wind and thrown at Megan.
From the other side Kaldur tried to flank. "So uncoordinated. Tell me where I can find Red tornado." He was blown into the wall.
Mordred gritted her teeth as she held onto the sword with one hand, the bright ctimson of her magic circuts flaring to life along her arm as she drew a glyph with middle and pointer finger. The air smelled of ozone as a large blast of red lightning crashed into the villain kicking up a dust storm.
"Think that got him?" Robin asked.
"No idea... " Mordred rested her blade on her shoulder when a massive blast of lightning blew her right out the power plant sending her skidding across the parking lot and slamming into a car. "No it did not get him... owe..." She groaned as she got back to her feet unsteadily her ears ringing. Cleching her fist as her armor apeared on her. She picked up her blade and charged back in.
The villain had exited out the back of the power plant as The others faced him when suddenly Megan called out something that chilled Mordreds blood. "Mr.Twister is Red Tornado, I can read his mind because he's inorganic and how many androids do you know that can summon tornados?"
"Red Tornado sent us here." Auqalad spoke with frustration.
"Red Tornado can't generate lightning!" Mordred shouted at the top of her lungs getting the teams attention. Taking her blades hilt in both hands she felt the surge of mana in her body as she launched herself as arcs of lightning sparked off her blade.
"How astute." Mr Twister said aiming his gauntlet at Mordred as a massive storm formed in the sky, massive bolts of lightning ripping through the clouds.
Mordred swung her blade as she launched massice blast of red lightning in a powerful beam. "BLOOD CLARENT!" The knoght roared as the thunderclap of a devastating lightning strike slammed into her attack.
Stray arcs of lighting shot off them both ripping into trees, cement and buildings. Soon both blasts cleared in a cloud of smoke. Mr Twister used his wind to clear the the dust when the edge of Modred's blade appeared at his neck. "Impressive display... but your a walking lightning rod." Another powerful bolt slammed into the metal clad knight slamming her into the ground. She breathed hard as she kneeled on the ground. "You call that lightning..." Morderd got to her shakey feet as Superboy launched himself at Mr Twister only to get thrown off and thrown at Mordred. The two landed in a pile at the others feet.
"It's time I took my leave." Mr Twister said as he flew in the direction of the town. Mordred shoved Superboy off her as she got to her feet.
"The hell was that? You need to get a grip!" Wally shouted at Mordred. "You need to reign in that power you nearly leveled all of us! I don't know if you noticed, but we we're to busy dodging your lighting to actually fight!" Mordred looked around her at the charred grass and destroyed buildings and cars.
"It's not my fault that your too weak to fight at my level!" Mordred shouted back. "If it weren't for my instincts you would have listened to her and gotten yourselves killed!"
"Megan was trying to help, and her's is a rookie mistake, we're lucky that you... why did you memorize Red Tornado's powers?" Robin asked.
"And the son of Batman didn't? I know he dosen't trust me and told you he dose so that I'm more likely to be compliant. My own damn mother did that to me daily!" Mordred shouted at the boy wonder. Before walking off a few feet. "There were a few factors, Red Tornado's winds take on a red color, and in all the information that Cadmus jammed in my head, he never used any sort of lightning power. I'm not used to this world of aliens, techology and machines. If that android is trying to start a fight with a hero deliberatly, that can't be a good thing."
"So we regroup, and come up with a plan. We need to lure Mr Twister into a position we can exploit."
"I have a idea." Megan spoke up.
In the town of Happy Harbor Mr Twister ripped up the property and terrorized the population. As he reached the waters edge the flash of red lightning ripped through the sky.
Superboy held onto Mordres forearm and she held onto his as the two were launched into the air as red lightning arced off the two of them spinning around each other. Mordred threw the kryptonian at the machine man within a bolt of lighting that crashed into the ground kicking up a storm.
The villain blew away the dust only for Robin to lodge and detonate explosives in his back. "I am plauged by children!"
"Don't worry you'll have a real hero soon enough!" Wally said as he slid beneath the villain taking out the machines footing. Coming down from the sky came Mordred magic arcing off her blade.
"Oh no you don't!" He shouted raising a gauntlet to blast away Modred who blocked the bolt of lightning with the flat of Clarent's blade. Crashing into a nearby building. "Pathetic." Mr Twister mocked the young heroes. "But since you're now stalling for time to get a real hero here, I'll humor you."
Superboy launched himself at the machine from his right as Robin came in from the left. Twister threw out his hands unleashing a blast of wind in both directions. The two of them skidded across the grass, Kid Flash catching Robin as Superboy slammed into a truck.
Modred extracted herself from the damaged home,as she glared down at the villain. This fight was going for too long, the destruction was starting to get out of hand. Glancing up at the sky she nodded before dashing forward. to Robin and kid Flash's side. "Together." She said before the wind picked up again, a red metalic figure landing infront of them. Red Tornado had arrived.
"No, I had hoped your team could Handle this. Hit the showers." The hero ordered.
"But we can help!" Robin pleaded.
"I've never backed down from a battle and you want me to step away from this bucket of bolts?" Mordred asked.
"The matter is not up for a debate." Red Tornado said with finality. So the Heroes stepped back letting him take over.
"Finnally I was wondering what it will take to bring you out." Twister said as the wind picked up around the both of them.
Once the team seemed to have cleared the area the two began to fight, launching tornados at each other, kicking up dust and debris. But as they fought it was clear Twister had an edge, blowing the enemies back.
"Impressive Tornado but your no match for me!" Twister shouted aa he launched and landed a blast on the hero seeming to take the robotic hero bt surpruse and rendering the machine man inert, at least for now. Twister landed next to the still hero.
"The reprograming won't take long." Twister said as cabels extended from their fingers down to tge side of Red Tornado's head. After a few seconds Red Tornado grabbed the wires as their head turned into Megan's.
"Longer then you might think." She used her telekinetic power to hold the Android still as Wally ran past depositing Mordred behind Twister swinging her blade up in a arc of lightning chopping throught the shoulder of one arm severing it in a shower of sparks before Superboy landed a powerful punch sending the villain into the water.
As twister tried to regain control of them self while submerged Kaldur slammed a steel boat anchor into the android charged with his magical electicty blasting the machine out of the water where a cluster of Robins Explosive shuriken danmaged it further as Megan ripped the other arm off.
The android sparked with damage as exposed wires burnt up. The chest of the machine opened up and a scrwny overalls wearing man fell out to his knees. "Foul... I call foul." He pleaded... before the sharp singing of a blade severed it's mechanicle head in two.
"Jesus... Mordred. A bit blood thirsty, I nean its a android but..." Robin started.
"Megan couldn't read his mind so he was never human to begin with, and I couldn't detect any mana from him either." Mordred explained as her blade and armor vanished.
Wally to her right made a noise. "Pffft. Mana... she's still stuck in her time." Mordred decided to ignore the speedster. He picked up a discarded eye from the machine man "Cool, souvenier."
The team brought the remains of the suit and android back to the Mountain. "You did well." Red Tornado remarked as they examined the techology.
"He was after you for some reason. Something about reprogramming." Megan said.
"Indeed, this bears the signature work of my creator. T.O. Morrow. As to what use he could have reprogramming me. I cannot say." Red Tornado said. Mordred frowed, a creator attempting to control their creation... a feeling much to familiar. She could almost feel those icy blue eyes upon her. "You did well, I had faith you would handle this situation and you proved me correct. I do not belive it is my place to fight your battles for you, nor you fight mine for me." He said before walking off.
"I mean if it were Batman or Flash they would have stepped in." Wally said.
"I suppose if were going to have a babysitter, a heartless machine is what we need." Robin quipped.
"Incorrect I have a heart, it is made of a tungston steal alloy, and i have excellent hearing." Red Tornado turned back to the team.
"Eh... sorry, I'll strive to be more accurate." Robin apologized.
"And more respectful, he is our gaurdian." Kaldur put a hand on the boy wonder's shoulder.
"Recognized: Batman." The caped hero stepped out of the zeta tube.
"Good, your all here." He said appraching the team.
On a tropical island sat a lone factory, armed gaurds patroling the dark forest and the perimeters around the facility as alarms blared. Inside the factory was members of the cult of the Cobra over looking a makeshift fighting pit.
A black and white masked brute of a man along side his men was brought to the pit. In spanish one of the Cobra Cultists spoke. "Our sublime leader will depart this facility should one of your men manage to defeat his champion in single combat."
"Just make it interesting." The leader stepped forward into the pit, the barred door shutting behind him. Across the pit a scrawny redheaded man in a small blue tank top entered the cage, and standing just outside the cage was a woman who was clearly his sister in a blue crop top and streak dyed hair.. The Cultist dropped a gauntlet with a tube and red vials into the cage. "You would give me my greatest weapon? What's the catch?"
"No catch." The cultist replied. "It would hardly test my lord's Champions prowess if you were not at your best."
Putting the glove on the masked fighter looked over at the cultist. "You want my best?" Plugging the tube into a port connected to the mask the red liquid was pumped into his blood stream. Grunting as his myscles bulged and grew rapidly, increasing his size as he towered over a normal man. Taking a deep breath "Fine..." As he cracked his neck.
The woman shut the door and raised a injection gun which she used to adminiter a dose of a purple chemicle into her brother. The effect was instant. Stepping forward as he fell to his knees shouting in pain. When sundenly his muscles began growing, his canines grew in length and the skin tore when it couldn't contain the growth. The shirt fell away ripped to shreds.
The fight started with no bell, the beast man charged the masked fighter with a roar. The man blocked a over head swipe and landed a uppercut to the jaw a jab to the ribs before the creature landed a powerful blow to his stomach before lashing out with violent strike to head and chest of the man.
Grabbing the man's arm the creature spun him arround and threw him into pipes that cracked and let out steam from the impact. Charging with a shouder tackle the masked man was hit with the full weight of the monster, two powerful strikes left him dazed before he was thrown out of the steam on his back.
Groaning in pain as the creature launched it's self in the air comimg down with a devastating blow that ended the fight. Watching the fight, the cultists began to chant. "Hail Cobra. Hail Cobra! Hail Cobra!"
