Hey all back with the next chapter im really excited to publish more so i couldnt really wait to make more but also if i take a while to update im basically juggling this, working my current job, and looking for a different job to replace this job some other things but its not as important so im writing when i get spare time or if i think of ideas but i am really excited to make more stories im just working on one at a time
Hiccup made his dragon call and not long after he heard the other riders call back signaling they will meet up in the cove to grab their bags. Now that his friends would be heading to the cove he hopped on toothless and took off trying to beat stoick before he could organize a hunting party. While all this was happening stoick went to get a number of villagers some being the other riders parents to arm them selves and be ready head out to stop them he went to gobber first but the old blacksmith wasn't home strangely enough so he shrugged it off and went to the other hutts. Unknown to stoick, gobber left earlier to hopefully meet hiccup before he left, the blacksmith knew stoick for many years so he knows how he will think for almost any situation and he had a feeling stoick would pull something like hunting the riders dragons so got a few things he was wanting to give them and left his house right before hiccups dragon call signal.
In the cove
Hiccup was the first to get to the cove he knew the riders won't be far behind so he started to put his bags on toothless's saddle in total hiccup had at least three baskets most of it was of extra clothes, a fishing rod, his designs, his camping gear and at least 2 extras of toothless's tail fin. He brought a sword with him just in case he and toothless gets separated. As time went he, Astrid and snotlout had started weapon training together and they saw hiccup was a good swordsman they decided he should have a sword for him since the other teens all had their own weapons; Astrid with her axe, snotlout with his mace, fish legs with his hammer, and the twins using short swords. Though hiccup wanted to make his own sword to put his own spin on it but he has yet to find the perfect design
He didn't take long to strap the bags onto toothless when he heard rustling in the bushes near the cove entrance. " who's there" he was worried stoick got a group already, he had his sword out as toothless readied a plasma blast." Don't worry lad it's just me I left before everything started to go crazy" gobber said as he waddled out the bushes, hiccup instantly relaxed and ran to hug the blacksmith he saw as his grandfather." Glad you could see us off gobber" even though hiccup was sad to leave he had actual joy for the fact he will see gobber one last time. By this time Astrid and fish legs showed up and saw the interaction and got closer to hear what would happen next." I wouldn't miss it for the world lad but I do have something for you" gobber said as he grabbed a box from behind him " hiccup haddock you have been training in me smithy since you were just a little one you have been learning the ropes and have become a better smith than I could ever dream to be but now it's time for you to go on your own adventures so I am proud to name you a full fledge blacksmith in this box you will find the tools to be your own smith stay safe out there lad and keep training Astrid and fish legs" gobber said as he gave hiccup the box when he opened said box it had different tools such as tongs, a hammer, a small anvil, even a new apron and smithing gloves. Hiccup looked shocked but happy while Astrid and fish legs stared on with pride before they went back to packing they're stuff. Astrid mostly packed the essentials she had extra clothes, her trusty axe, almost 20 throwing knives( lord this girl loves weapons), fishing rod, camping gear, and a few other miscellaneous things that she would need. Fish legs brought a new copy of the book of dragons, extra clothes, his hammer, multiple journals, fishing rod, camping gear, all his botany books, and first aid kits for emergencies.
They had finished packing everything and now they just had to wait to the twins and snotlout. Gobber went up to Astrid and fish legs for the last time." Lad, lass I don't know where ye all are goin but just know I'm proud of all of you for sticking with hiccup I know ye all will go to do great things just promise me you'll stay together" they nod to signify they don't plan on splitting up which made gobber smile before he went back to hiccup. Snot lout and the twins saw gobber knowing he was on their soon they all got down to start loading their bags on barf, belch, and hookfang. Snotlout hadn't packed a lot he packed his mace, camping gear, fishing rod, and 2 spare helmets. The twins more or less had packed stuff to prank people but they had their main survival gear with them and their weapons. Gobber got all the teens attention before they left" well I guess this is goodbye to all you youngins all I want to say is I'm just happy you all are going to be together for this next adventure in your lives and don't forget about me but before ye all go I got one more thing you all" gobber waddles back into the bush he hid in for a moment but comes back out to everyone's surprise with metal shields each one with different dragon class symbols on them. Everyone looked at the craftsmanship of each shield and hiccup realized something about them" gobber this was one of the designs we were working on together wasn't it" the blacksmith looked on with a grin seeing hiccup pick up on how he made these" aye lad I been working on these every chance I got I originally was gonna give them to ye all for your birthday's but this seems a better time than ever" hiccup looked on with surprise as he was given his shield it was really light for it being made of metal Astrid was the one to comment about it wondering why it was so light." Well lass me and hiccup got these rare metals from johann a while back as we were starting to really make tweaks to his inventions we got interested when the trader showed us this pile of metal that was really light but strong we been working on projects with it ever since though I took some to use for these shields" gobber looked proud at what he did only for it to be short lived when he started hearing shouting he knew the hunting parties were close so he had to get them in the air now or they will be caught." Looks we're out of time ye all need to go just be careful out there and remember to write now get going I'll be fine just go now" he gave hiccup one last hug before he got on toothless as did the other riders with their dragons and lifted off. Gobber made his way out the cove avoiding the search parties so he wasn't seen as suspicious. Berk would search all night not knowing hiccup and the others were already gone which started the next chapter of their lives.
Not long after gobber snuck back to the village stoick had reached the cove with a group of hunters ready to kill but when they got there the riders were too far away to even shoot a bow at them he looked on in anger knowing he couldn't get his son on his side.
As they ride off hiccup looks back at berk one last time and looks to all his friends he was brought out of his thoughts by Astrid" so hiccup what do we do now" hiccup grinned when she asked" well as far as I see it Astrid, TO THE GREAT BEYOND" hiccup shouts the last bit before toothless shot off to the distance they look to each other and grinned before they all shouted" TO THE GREAT BEYOND" and took off after him
