The next day came fast and the riders met up with camicazi and thuggory these two had so many questions about training dragons and they were about to bombard the riders with questions. But when camicazi and thuggory were going to question the riders Oswald bertha and Mogadon had come looking for their kids to begin the chieftain peace talks. Hiccup was able to recognize bertha and Mogadon instantly, but the rest of the riders were amazed about seeing the chief of the meatheads and chieftess of the bog burglars. Speaking of chief and chieftess, Mogadon was in a dark blue tunic with chainmail surrounding the tunic with a metal arm and wrist guard on his right arm and his left he had small shield on his arm, he wore black trousers with black armored boots. Bertha was wearing a red tunic with metal arm gaurds a leather reinforced breastplate a helmet with what looks like ram horns on top, she wore brown trousers with an armored skirt and brown boots. The leaders found their children to go to thorheads great hall for peace talks bertha saw her fellow chieftains." Ah Oswald and Mogadon good to see you two again I haven't seen you all since the last signing" Oswald was next" why yes it has been a while bertha I hope you have been doing well" Oswald was hoping the chief and chieftess don't question about the riders since they are still teenagers, and they are away from their parents none the less. Mogadon had spoken up" well it's good to see you all too but allow us to leave to the great hall and we can begin the signing" the three chiefs agreed and walked off with their kids in tow but dagur and Oswald was slower to walk. Oswald whispered to the riders before they left" Sorry kids we'll catch up soon but for now just stay out of sight and keep your faces concealed me and dagur shouldn't be long" hiccup nodded in understanding " we got it Oswald don't worry they won't catch us just make sure that the treaty is signed" hiccup and Oswald nodded towards eachother and dagur gave hiccup a fistbump as they left to the meeting. Once they were gone hiccup turned to the other riders "so… suggestions on how we can pass the time" the other riders just shrugged not knowing what to do when they decided they would just look around the village find more about this place since they haven't really heard of a tribe on thorhead island.
In the great hall
The great hall had been the loudest it had been on thorhead island with the chieftain of different tribes and their representatives going around but the ones who weren't enjoying the time was Oswald dagur cami and thuggory since they will be dealing with stoick and his representatives a lot and they were not looking forward to that. They can at least be glad that the old blacksmith isn't part of the ones they need to worry about. It wasn't just the fact that their parents practically caused their kids to run from their tribe but more of that the group stoick has for his representatives are some of the most egotistical people on berk some more than others. Oswald wasn't looking to deal with spitelout Jorgenson he alone was the reason that berk and the berserkers were on such shaky terms because the last time oswald had anything to do with the mutton head dagur nearly took his head off for how he would speak about hiccup so openly so since that day spitelout would be told to keep his mouth shut around dagur and dagur would have at least two berserkers nearby to restrain him in case the lout tried to open his mouth. The only ones that were able to put up with his representatives were bertha and Mogadon and he's pretty sure they are only like that to avoid a war between them and berk. Speaking of stoicks group Oswald noticed that spitelout wasn't in the great hall he was surprised since the Jorgenson representative never missed a chance for another tribes' mead he also noticed the blacksmith isn't in the hall normally he would be seeing gobber drunk off his ass telling stories of when he would run into the 'boneknapper' or whatever he called it, all kinds of superstition if you ask him but the missing Jorgenson was concerning he didn't want to try anything but he couldn't take chances with the kids out and about in the village." Dagur, something is going on with the Jorgenson I need you to see about sneaking out of here and try to warn your friends but do it discreetly I'll keep stoick and his group busy while you do that" dagur nodded as Oswald walked off. Dagur, knowing his job went to sneak out as quietly as he could but unknown to him, he was being watched.
The riders were walking around the village looking to learn more about this tribe since not even hiccup knew about this tribe, so they had to have come here recently. Hiccup had been walking around when he saw an older villager he decided to go and speak with the villager hoping they would have some kind of information about the tribe." Hello there, I'm shadow I'm a part of the berserkers' crew and I was wondering if you could tell me a bit about this tribe" he didn't know what to say other than he was with the berserkers' crew but he hoped it was fine enough that they wouldn't question much." Oh that is an interesting question young man I can tell you a little about this beautiful tribe you see we are the thalics we are combination of different cultures some have come from Rome some from Europe but none are from just one place you see our tribe have moved to different areas of the world hoping to find a place to finally settle down and call home but no place we had found was ever suitable to live in" the villager explained, now hiccup was intrigued why were they never able to find a place to live." What caused this tribe to not be able to live in other places" he asked as the villager continued." Now I don't know everything as I had joined the tribe quite recently but from what I have been told the tribe was always driven out by raiders or they were never able to find suitable land to live off of, I certainly hope we can stay in this area it is just beautiful" the villager continued. Hiccup was then curious raiders or living off the land that's strange raiders shouldn't have been attacking often enough to run a tribe off their lands. The villager continued" well that is all I know I wish I could tell you more but I only joined thalics recently, last we were in a tropical land I believe it was Caribbean but I can't remember too well I'm up in the years here lad but I do believe one of our boat navigators could tell you more go speak with lacklor if you want to hear more he had traveled to many places before he became the navigator of a boat in our tribe he may even know of other lands if you are curious too" the villager left back to his hutt for a midday nap that was everything he needed he was genuinely curious to learn more about where these people came from but he needed to grab the other riders they decided to split up to look around. He started to make his way to the market because he thought he saw fishlegs and twins, maybe he could look at the wears that the 'thalics sell as well since apparently, they have been to so many places so it wouldn't hurt to see what to expect from some of these places. He made his way into the market when unknown to him a shadow was following him close behind. The shadow whispered to himself" oh stoick will be glad that his boy came back" as the shadow continued following hiccup
With dagur
To say that dagur was stressed was an understatement he was able to leave the hall with relative ease but now he was running around the village to find the riders when he stopped to catch his breath only to be jump scared by Cami and thuggory." Oh thor you guys seriously can't be sneaking up on people like that" he said as he finally caught his breath thuggory was chuckling while cami was smirking pretty pleased with herself." Sorry dagster but we saw you left the hall and decided to follow you what's got you all excited" Dagur looked around to see if he was followed by anyone else." Well Cami, spitelout isn't in the hall with the rest of berk dad was worried and had me sneak out to find hiccup and the others warn them and make sure they were alright" dagur explained and Cami and thuggory looked concerned seeing now why dagur was running earlier when they saw Astrid and snotlout near the blacksmithing building so the three heirs went over to the two riders. Astrid and snotlout was curious about all the weapons that the people of thorhead had not seeing any of these before and astrid was the one asking most the questions since snotlout was just playing around with them." Excuse me sir could you tell me what this weapon is it doesn't look like any sword I've seen before" astrid said as she picked up a sword with a very thin blade to her it didn't even look like a blade more of a long metal stick on a hilt. The blacksmith look over from his current work and smiled" ah you must be from one of the viking tribes for that signing well I can tell you a little bit about this here weapon it's called a rapier this is used by noblemen and women in spain and some areas of Italy from what ive heard western Europe are picking it up as well but this weapon is more used for thrusting attacks its not a weapon to use if you use very powerful swings it primarily relies on speed" the blacksmith explained while astrid look to the other weapons one had a curve on it and the blacksmith explained this too." Ah the sickle this isn't supposed to be a weapon actually more a tool for farming but it can be used as an effective weapon as well it is great for disarming swordsman I've definitely had my fair share of kills on the field with this weapon" he continued on about it while astrid was more intrigued more excited to see the world more than ever that was until dagur cami and thugs came up to her and snotlout worried. She was confused why they weren't in the great hall with their parents. "Hey guys how come you're not in the great hall" cami was the first to say something." We got a little worried, spitelout isn't in the great hall so we needed to warn you have you seen hiccup and the others" she said as Astrid went wide eyed as snotlout dropped the sword he was messing with. They soon left to find hiccup and the others before something happened.
Back with hiccup
Hiccup was looking for ruff tuff and fishlegs in the marketplace while looking around the stalls. He saw products from many of the places he and the riders want to travel to, but he wasn't interested in buying anything, so he decided to focus on finding the other riders. Hiccup found fishlegs walking with a new book hiccup guessed he bought from one of the stands, so he made his way over to his friend." Lorekeeper I've been looking all over for you where's LaVerne and Eugene" he felt strange not using his actual name but he'll get used to it." Oh, shadow good to see you the last time I saw LaVerne and Eugene they were looking at a weapons stall said something they needed to upgrade their arsenal for future endeavors and I just shrugged and went on my way" fishlegs looked up saw his friend in the leather armor to respond but not for too long he was really invested in this book he got." Well, that is comforting, so what book you got there" hiccup sighed out exasperation knowing how ruff and tuff are when they're by themselves but decided to worry about them later after they found them." Well, this book right here talks about different groups around the world they have different equipment that I never thought about you were right shadow these places are interesting I can't wait to see some of these places" fishlegs said still looking in his book. Hiccup was about to say something but didn't get the chance when a giant meaty hand grabbed him hiccup yelped which fishlegs looked up to reveal spitelout Jorgenson holding hiccup by his shoulder and not being gentle with it either." Hey, let go of my friend jerk" fishlegs being serious but trying to act like he doesn't know spitelout." You can drop the act boy I know it's you all I suspected you when I first saw you all with the berserker kid" spitelout said very annoyed." What do you want spitelout" hiccup asked trying to get out of the Vikings grip." You caused quite a stir on berk leaving you know now we don't have someone to take stoicks place but now that I got you, we're going back to stoick right now wether you like it or not" spitelout said this with as much aggression towards hiccup as possible to intimidate him but hiccup and fishlegs were having none of it." Well, if you didn't want us to leave you shouldn't have gone after our dragons the only reason, we left was to protect our dragons" hiccup stated." Bullocks why would you be more concerned for the enemy over your family" spitelout said waving off what hiccup said. Both hiccup and fishlegs became even more annoyed by him saying this but they had to figure something out to get away from spitelout until he started to speak again." Well come on boyo you're going back to berk that way you'll be doing things the viking way when we deal with those demons, you'll finally be the…" he didn't even finish his sentence before a big hammer knocked him out. Hiccup was surprised when spitelout fell over only to smile at the sight of his father figure gobber with his hammer hand all gobber did was smile and give hiccup and fishlegs a thumbs up and made his way out the marketplace. Hiccup was glad what gobber did but was confused about how either of them knew who they were, but the moment didn't last when fishlegs grabbed hiccup and ran to the berserkers hutt hoping the rest of the riders would find them.
With the ruff and tuff
The twins were looking at the wares in the marketplace when tuffnut sees a weapon he immediately is interested in, by interested it was love at first sight." Oh, my thor this weapon it's so shiny it's so sturdy this mace is perfect, but it should have a name" he takes a moment before he came up with a name." I have it I name you macey!" he looks to the merchant selling the mace looking for a price." Four silver and one gold" the merchant stated. When he heard the price tuffnut was devastated he was one silver short immediately cursing himself for putting so much in the bet but got an idea. He gave the mace back begrudgingly and left with ruffnut or so the merchant thought. Ruffnut was exasperated that tuff wanted to steal the Mace, but she didn't say much since she had intentions to steal on their travels with the other riders. tuff made it look as if he left until he was out of eyesight of the merchant when he knew he out of sight he doubled back in a different direction when he got back, he noticed the merchant was busy with a customer so he snuck into the merchants stand and grabbed the mace as he heard the merchant talking about the deal he was making." Ah yes, I have a mace back here let me go get it" tuff immediately made to get out before the merchant came back to get the mace. The merchant came back right as tuff left just seeing the back of his tent being moved. Tuff then ran like hell to get back to ruff in case the merchant went to look for him. He got back to ruff who was tapping her foot impatiently waiting for her brother." You done with your stealing can we go now" ruff said to her brother who was panting from running with his new favorite weapon. Tuff nodded as they left to the berserkers hutt.
With dagur and the others
The group were walking around the village to see if the other riders were alright when dagur came up with an idea." Alright so let's go to the berserkers hutt to check if they just doubled back to get some rest, we're only walking in circles like this" the group agrees but start to speed walk to the berserkers hutt.
In the marketplace
spitelout is starting to come to when he realized hiccup and fishlegs were gone he left to inform stoick that the kids were on the island wondering what could have gotten the jump on.
Back at the berserker's hut
Dagur and his group got back to see hiccup fishlegs and the twins at a table, everyone looking at tuffnut annoyed as he is nervously whistling. Dagur was the first to say something "guys what happened to you today" ruffnut's look got more intense as tuffnut was trying to look around acting dumb dagur got an idea what was happening since the three were looking at him like that, but he also noticed the shiny mace. Astrid facepalmed "don't tell me he already stole something" ruffnut nodded to astrid as her and snotlout groaned while the three heirs were very confused about what they were talking about. Snotlout speaks up "these mutton heads were plotting to do some thieving when we started our adventures didn't think they would start now" the heirs then groaned along with them understanding the annoyance. Then the group remembered why they were rushing back to the hutt. Dagur was the first to say something" guys we need you to be more careful when you're walking around here spitelout hasn't been in the hall he'll most certainly be walking around" hiccup and fishlegs looked nervous now when hiccup spoke up "well that warning is a bit too late dagur" the rest of the group paled at the realization that spitelout found them out. They were trying to come up with a back up maybe the riders would need to hide out in the berserkers boat they wouldn't need to worry about berk investigating the boat since they would have gaurds that wouldn't let anyone on board even if it was a chieftain from another tribe but when they were coming up with a plan they soon heard screaming coming from the great hall. " WHERE IS MY SON THORLAN I KNOW YOU HAVE HIM HERE"
DUN DUN DUH things are getting crazy how will the riders get out of this mess. tho in all seriousness this chapter i was going between combining two ideas or make the ideas separate chapters so i went with making the separate chapters. As i said in a previous chapter i want the twins and snotlout to seem much smarter than they were portrayed in canon but in this case i wanted to put some comedy into this as well seeing as the twins were putting themselves in trouble. I do want to give dagur camicazi and thuggory more main character roles later in the story still ive said this in a previous chapter but i dont like just skipping years down the line in just one chapter I want to really tell the story because to me that just makes it too easy to right and not interesting enough i mean come on imagine the story just saying the riders scream to the great beyond then fast forward years down the line stoick is dead theres no build up, no drama. I hope im not insulting any writers on here because i do read some stories on here funny enough but that was just how i saw time skips in most fanfictions but i need to end this off its 1:30 in the morning and i need to go to sleep for work so I'll be working on the next chapter in no time thank you again for reading my story so far.
