Chapter 2

To say that Harry was stunned will be the understatement of the day. But, that's what literally happened. He didn't know what to say or what to do. His brain was processing the fact that the woman in front of him is a British Magical Agent like the James Bond. All of the sudden, he started to laugh and told her to not pull his leg. But Emily said nothing and raised her want and gave a magical oath that what she said now and going to say to Harry are true. Harry stopped laughing as he realised what just happened. She not only proved that she wasn't joking but also removed his doubt of her being Death Eater was gone.

Seeing Harry's confusion, she said she will explain everything to him in detail. So, she started to explain about MI-M. How it is the Magical counterpart of MI-6 and certain cases of MI-5 too. Their prime objective is to keep No-Maj Britain safe from the attacks of other Magical Nations, including Magical Britain. They were formed in 1943 during the time of WW2 due to Grindelwald's involvement in it. MI-M operatives took part in several missions in both No-maj and Magical combats to bring an end to it. Harry was shocked to know that it was a polyjuiced MI-M agent who imperioed Hitler to commit suicide and thereby helped in ending WW2. After that MI-M's importance in No-Maj increased. They planned on coming to a mutual understanding with the Unspeakables, but the bigotry and pureblood dogma of Magical Britain changed the idea and this was a major reason why even if they tried a lot to do in Voldie's War, they couldn't make much difference.

But that didn't stop them from expanding. They have several divisions specialised in certain kind of operations. One of the most important feature was the M-Squad. It was a group of operatives from SAS and SBS, with magical background like half-bloods, New-bloods(Muggle-borns), Squibs, droupouts and even outcaste people like werewolves, etc. They were given the required combat magical training above their military training and magical knowledge to conduct Black-ops that are difficult for MI-M agents. Next is the RD wing of MI-M, who handle both magical and muggle tech RD. They also focus in collaborating magical and No-maj tech in MI-M operations.

They have also helped other No-Maj governments in magical issues as they are one of the three established agencies in the world as KGB-M of USSR was disbanded, which was the fourth agency. Other two established agencies are CIA-M of America and Mossad-M of Israel. There are some newly formed agencies also like FSB-M of Russia, RAW-M of India, ASIS-M of Australia, DGSE-M of France and GID-M of Egypt, but they are still working in collaboration with the Pioneer-Three.

Harry was hearing all these accounts like a kid hearing fantasy stories. He was really fascinated by MI-M and their activities and he really felt that they did more for magical Britain than the Ministry and Dumbles in fighting Dark Lords. Emily then went on to explain how she knew Harry, it was the protocol of MI-M, to analyse magical or magical based children born or living in No-Maj conditions, like Half-bloods, New-bloods, Squibs, etc. from the day they were born, to find their character, skill, magical prowess, crisis management, resilience, etc. and to find if they are a fit for becoming MI-M agents. If they feel they are fit for it, they will approach the kids after their OWLS and offer them the jobs. If they are interested, they will undergo training in their vacations inorder to maintain the secrecy and will be posted as Junior Agents in Hogwarts itself to conduct some basic missions. After completing their NEWTs they will be given an additional 1 year training after which they will be posted as Field Agents. In the time of this 3-year training period, they will also given a chance to complete their GCSE, inorder to maintain a cover in No-Maj world. Each Field Agent who is put under asset surveillance duty can choose their subject and Emily chose Harry and has been observing him since the day he came to Privet Drive.

This revelation didn't sit well with Harry as he realised that Emily has seen him suffer under the Dursleys and did nothing to save him. As if she has expected Emily revealed to Harry about the things she did to protect Harry, how many times she confounded the Dursleys when she saw they were crossing the limits. She can even confirm atleast three times she thwarted the Dursley's attempt to murder him. The reason which she didn't interfere with their mediocre but not so harmful torture was all tests for Harry to check how hard he can hold against tortures and interrogations and even she was surprised that he was the second best in the agency's assets ever as the first one being her own husband.

Harry didn't know what to say. To say he was pissed was one thing, but he does the point in her statements as if they are required to be an agent, they need to be the best in it.

Harry then asked her, "Why did you choose me? Was it a mere coincidence or was there specific reason behind it?". He can see Emily was being a bit hesitant of revealing it, but she took a deep breath and said it, "Yes, there is a reason why I choose you as my asset. It was because of my husband. He wanted to do it himself, but because of situation, I took the job. But, he is happy now that he can keep an eye on you as he is the incharge Field Commander of Hogwarts".

A curious Harry asked her, "Who is your husband? As I don't remember any Jackson in Hogwarts?".

Then came a voice, "That would be me Potter".

Harry turned around to see the person standing behind him. He was both surprised and angry and he yelled,

"SNAPE!!!!".

I know that Chapter 1 was short, but this chapter's length or more is what I'm planning to attain for each chapter.

As for the characterization of Emily I think Kate Winslet would be best, both because of the facial similarities to my image of Emily and because of her pairing in the movie Sense and Sensibility with Alan Rickman.
