Chapter 5:
At home, Nagashima finds Kiyomi's journals, which reveal she was losing control of herself and hearing voices that made her attracted to Nagashima's work, and to manipulate her actions to get Nagashima to perform his experiments, leading up to the previous night. He then gets a knock on the door and answers.
"Hi," says Stu, "I learned whose car it was and... I'm kind of the reason she crashed, sorry."
Nagashima only speaks Japanese.
Fortunately, that's why Stu brought Kimi's Dad, who translates.
Nagashima speaks Japanese.
"It's alright," Kimi's Dad translates, "she will be coming... back soon." Both of them then awkwardly leave Nagashima.
...
"I would probably be the same if my wife died," says Stu.
"Still, I have a bad feeling about him," says Kimi's Dad.
...
At the conference, Nagashima meets with Yoshizumi. "Mariko has grown stranger each day and that even her uterus is changing," says Yoshizumi.
A woman on the stage starts talking about mitochondria. "I am a mitochondria collective that will replace humans!" She then reveals her ability to control mitochondria.
...
The gang's also there. Don't question why, just go with it and they see. "Run," says Tommy.
"Are you Eve," asks Nagashima.
Eve then causes a man in the audience to burst into flames. "I have found the ideal womb!" She then leaves.
