TWICE THE PRIDE, DOUBLE THE FALL (Part 2)
Over the next day or so...
Things were pretty much a blur for Scott, Ramona and their friends (Status: Exhausted from all the problems sent by Kyle and Ken). Scott was barely able to concentrate on his shift at the Happy Avocado, apparently Kim had just dumped her now ex-boyfriend, Jason Kim (The guy with the car), Stephen and Knives were more or less concerned about what would happen to Sex Bob-Omb after their battle with the Katayanagi Twins, but Ramona (Emotion Status: Drained...)...she didn't seem that much like her usual self and even forgot about telling the group about the deal with herself and her twin exes, even though she tried to stay positive and show a positive attitude, though the others could easily see right through that.
The day afterwards, the gang all met up at a place called Padaria Dobro. They had a little talk until a few moments later, they decided to get serious. "So...I know this is more or less the wrong time to ask this, Ramona. But what's the deal with you and those Japanese twins?" Knives then asked Ramona despite a suspiciously worried expression on her face. "Well...could we discuss this back at my place? I feel like it's-" Ramona began, only to be gently cut off by Scott. "Ramona, please...we want them gone just as bad as you do." He said as he held her hand. At this, Ramona sighed heavily. "Yeah...I know. Just trying to put it off..." She responded before beginning to explain.
"For starters, we went to the same college I mentioned. They were also my TAs in Robotics 101." She then began, thinking back to her second semester of college.
Flashback (Ramona's College Days (Second Term)):
It was my second semester of college, a whole four months after I left Roxie.
I was still a kid, but to those guys, I was fresh meat. In other words, this year's girl.
One time after class, during her second semester, Ramona came out and was greeted by Ken, who flattered her immensely, and she seemed to love his charm. A while afterwards, she met Kyle by one of the campus trees and was also flattered her like his twin.
They always wanted my affections, one way or another, and they never did leave me alone no matter how hard I tried to get away from them.
In secret however, Ramona really wanted to get to class without being the twins' new doll to play with, in fact she was trying to keep her comfortability a secret most of the time.
I saw how they acted around other girls before they met me:
Arrogant, a couple of players. Womanizing about five girls before me and always cheating on the girl before the new one.
Ages ago before she left Roxie, Ramona noticed on five different occasions that they had seduced one of the girls from their class before moving on to another one afterwards. The sight of how horribly they cheated on each girl was enough to anger Ramona and Roxie. Though after some time...she thought of a plan.
So I figured I'd pay them both back, to show them what happens when they messed with the wrong girl.
I played them right back, dated them both at the same time.
And one day pretty soon, Ramona walked to class with Kyle, talking to him with a smile on her face...though that moment ended when the two heard books being dropped onto the floor. They then saw Ken, Kyle's brother, standing there, angered that his own brother had been dating Ramona behind his own back.
Heh...and would you believe what happened after they found out?
The moment Kyle tried to claim it wasn't what it looked like, Ken immediately stormed towards his brother and the two began arguing with Ken saying that HE was dating Ramona and Kyle claiming that HE was dating Ramona. All the while, Ramona merely smirked with satisfaction before leaving the classroom and the twins to bicker.
After hearing this, some of the group were surprised by this revelation (Shocked even), though Knives snickered at the karma both Kyle and Ken got back then. "Now that's funny." She said, and it brought a smile to Ramona's face as well. "Sound familiar, Scott?" Stephen (Status: Unintentionally nearly revealing Scott's and Knives' secret) then briefly mentioned...or at least until Kim slapped his mouth shut. "Wait, what does he mean by that...?" Ramona asked a nervous looking Scott, who merely shrugged in confusion...though he knew too well what it meant.
"So...you cheated them at their own cheating game and then they joined the league of your exes to get you back by force or to take revenge on you?" Scott then asked just to confirm the details. "Either or. They did confront me afterwards to demand an explanation, but I just blew them off completely. Told them they got what they deserved. Never went near them after that." Ramona finished up before sighing heavily in annoyance. "So the trick is to get them to turn on each other again, eh? Sounds simple enough." Kim said, a little bored (When wouldn't she be in fact?) but accepting the idea.
"Won't be that easy this time, Kim. From what I saw of seeing them again, I don't think they hold any hostility towards each other. Especially since they fought you, twice." Ramona pointed out, and it was a pretty bad downside for the gang to deal with. "Actually, make that thrice. Those guys sent one of their robots after me." Knives then pointed out to the shock of her friends. "Wait what?!" Scott (Note: When the hell did that happen?!) exclaimed in panic. "Knives, what the hell happened?!" Stephen asked in the same amount of worry. "Well, when I was at school yesterday, a huge muscly robot appeared and attacked me. I fought it off but then it exploded and I got bruised, but not too badly." Knives explained.
Oh man, Scott knew this whole twins situation was getting out of hand alongside Ramona too, boy did he want to kick those XXXhats' to the curb and stomp all over them and stuff! "It's lucky you didn't get suspended, Knives. Seriously speaking." Stephen then sighed, in both relief and annoyance on the situation. "I just told the principal and my parents that I had an accident and they bought it. In case you guys were asking." Knives then added sheepishly. "Purely evil ex example at it's finest. Can we just agree to get rid of those evil exes before they destroy us all?" Kim then spoke up before asking a simple but agreeable question.
However, seconds later, the group was interrupted by an unexpected arrival. "Well well well, if it isn't my favourite band of heroes." Wallace (Scott's former roommate. Status: Here with a plan) said with a smirk, even tousling Knives' hair slightly. "Hey Wallace. So what brings you here?" Scott asked despite his groan of slight annoyance. "And more importantly, where's your psychic boyfriend we heard about about six chapters back?" Ramona then asked jokingly. "He's got a business thing going on, so I'm left with you guys." Wallace explained with a roll of his eyes.
"On the astral plane?" Scott asked in shock. "At his job, Scotty. Wasn't trying to trick you." Wallace pointed out, slightly annoyed before bringing out folder. "Anyways, I came here, on the account that you guys would be talking about evil ex business, to show you this." After speaking, Wallace placed the folder down on the table. Opening it, Scott and the group immediately noticed how blurry the pictures were to their annoyance. "Dude...did you seriously take these yourself?" Kim asked bluntly, figuring that Wallace was bad with a camera.
"Sorry about that. They were the only few of the last guy floating around. Only one guy who fit the description of the last ex we have to fight." Wallace said apologetically though he pointed out a figure in the photos. One figure that Ramona (And ONLY Ramona herself probably) could recognise anywhere. "Gideon..." She muttered under her breath, almost in anger. "Gideon Gordon Graves himself." Wallace said, speaking the ex's full name. "Holy-that's G-Man!" Stephen (Realisation levels: Maxed Out!) exclaimed in shock, though much to the confusion of Scott and Ramona. "G-Man?" Scott and Kim asked with an arched eyebrow.
"Oh that's right. I forgot to mention. The whole reason for our place in the battle of the bands was to win a record deal with G-Man (Just like in the movie too in fact), one of the reasons anyway." Stephen then explained much to the slight annoyance of everyone for not explaining sooner. "But anyway, the point I'm making here is that G-Man, or Gideon, has his own empire. Two record deals, a movie studio lot, fourteen animal shelters (Just like in the Anime. Is there anything he doesn't have!), you name it, he's got it." He then finished. "Are you kidding me...? You knew about this guy and you didn't tell us sooner?!" Kim yelled in annoyance, nearly tempted to smack Stephen on the back of the head for his idiocy.
"We were busy with the battle against the exes at the time and it didn't cross my mind, ok?!" Stephen said, throwing up his hands in his defence. "Hang on, are we sure G-Man and Gideon are the same guy? Because I'd never agree to a record deal like that if they were." Scott then asked almost immediately (Fun Fact: He's actually not wrong there. See the movie for more details) out of confusion. "Why don't you see for yourself, Scotty." Wallace then said, showing a photo of G-Man with Ramona in the background...and then things went silent.
"Well...there goes our short-lived dream deal." Kim sarcastically said, and Stephen, though silent, agreed with her along with Knives. "We still rock, deal or no deal. Anyways, are you ok telling us about you and Gideon, Ramona?" Scott then asked Ramona...but she didn't respond. "Rammy, are you ok...?" Knives then asked as the group looked at Ramona to see her glaring angrily (Knives' Note: Woah...she really must hate that guy...) at the photo of Gideon with her in it, her head glowing to their immediate shock. "Hey...what's up with your head?" Kim then asked in surprise. "W-What are you talking about?" Ramona asked in surprise.
"Wait, you can see it too? I honestly though it was just me." Scott admitted in surprise. "I could see the same thing on you too Scott." Stephen bluntly pointed out. "Does it happen a lot?" Wallace asked with confusion. "Well, not often if that's what you mean." Scott then admitted sheepishly. "Guys! What the hell is wrong with my head?!" Ramona then yelled, nearly exploding before managing to keep her voice down. "It's glowing." Knives pointed out sheepishly. "Something is happening with it, and I have no idea what." Kim then added.
"Come on, you're messing with me. I-I mean I saw Scott's head glowing once, but I never saw my head glow. Not once." Ramona said, almost in denial if not for the fact that she didn't know herself. "Here, I'll show you Rammy." Kim said before she and Knives went to the bathroom. But when they got there, it stopped glowing (Conveniently enough...) all together. "Hmm...maybe it was the trick of the light?" Kim then concluded after many moments. "Maybe..." Ramona said in concern. She was beginning to wonder if there was a problem with her hair, so much in fact that she was concerned that her friends might get infected by whatever it was.
"Well...if it helps to cheer you up, Rammy, why don't we go to one of Julie's parties tonight?" Knives suggested to Ramona with a smile. "Wait, I thought you guys didn't even like Julie's parties?" Ramona said in surprise after the idea sunk in. "Well, at least they give us something to complain about." Kim pointed out with a snicker. "Plus, I'm planning to get Julie back for what she did to us. That and for the reason why Scott's bass is broken" Knives added with a firm nod (And boy does she ever mean it here). And after that was said, Ramona smirked at the thought of getting revenge on Julie.
Later on
The gang all attended yet another one of Julie's freaking parties. Ramona figured at this point Julie was trying desperately, almost on her last legs, if you could call them that, to stay relevant to everyone. But nevertheless, Ramona couldn't care less about about what Julie was doing. After nearing the apartment, she had gotten a strange urge to be alone for a while and headed to the balcony...only to bump into both Young Neil (Status: Attending the party...for some reason.) and Knives' friend, Tamara (Status: Tagging along. Also looking out for Knives.). "Oh, sorry Neil. Didn't see you or Tamara there." She said to them awkwardly.
"No problem, Rammy. Really." Neil said, in a more awkward manner. "Yeah...so how are you two doing?" Ramona then asked the two gently. "Fairly fine. Just kinda jealous of Knives, hanging out with Scott and Captain Homo over there." Tamara then responded, gesturing towards Scott, Knives and Stephen Stills, who seemed to be getting along pretty well like usual. "Yeah...I kinda get that. But still, they're bandmates. Can you blame them?" Ramona then responded in response to Tamara's jealousy. "They can be XXXXXXXX sometimes, you know what I mean?" Young Neil then complained slightly while rolling his eyes.
"Who wouldn't be, Neil?" Ramona then pointed out, a little annoyed before walking away from the two. "I'm young. Maybe I'll grow out of it?" He said, the last part to Tamara, who shrugged in confusion. All the while, Scott, Stephen and Knives were getting to work, after she told the boys her sneaky plan, with getting Julie (Yes, you guessed it. Still a XXXXX and a half.) back for sabotaging Sex Bob-Omb. Within seconds, Scott and Knives immediately began stealing the liquor from the minibar and handing it to Stephen to hide in his jacket, though before Scott had the chance to give the tequila to Stephen, he was interrupted.
"Stephen!" Julie yelled to her ex (Fun Fact: Stephen possesses a Stills Sense (Tingles when someone says his name.) Like Scott), causing Scott to hide the bottle behind him as he and his bandmates saw Julie approaching them while holding the arms of...Kyle and Ken Katayanagi?! (Ramona's 5th and 6th Exes. Status: Once again confronting Scott and Co.) "Have you met Kyle and Ken? They helped me plan these events and...they're hot, award-winning robotics and Japanese popstars." She said, introducing the twins to Scott, Stephen and Knives again. "We've already met actually." Ken pointed out gently to Julie. "Twice in fact, Julie." Kyle added with a slight grumble.
"Yeah...if by me you mean sabotage our band and nearly killed us three times." Knives snarled viciously at Julie, even as she was held back by her friends. Julie would've said something mocking to her, only to see a liquor bottle fall, from Stephen's jacket, to the ground with a clatter, causing her to look in shock. "Oh my god! Are you stealing liquor?!" Julie exclaimed in anger as she glared at the trio. "It wasn't my idea for the record." Stephen meekly said in his own defence. "What-the-XXXX-ever! Just put the bottles back, they're for legitimate partygoers! You're a high schooler, your ex-boyfriend's a jerk, so you're not legitimate." Julie then barked at Scott and Knives.
Scott wanted to say something, only for Robot-01 (Third time he's appeared to Scott. Not-So Fun Fact: He's also sneaky too) to snatch the bottle he had behind him and give it to Kyle. "Cuervo Especial?" Ken said after observing the bottle. "Sounds like Ramona's picked her poison." "Good times, brother." Ken and Kyle then said one after the other. "Talking of Ramona, has she finally dumped you yet, Pilgrim? Because your sorry XXX didn't deserve her in the first place." Julie then said mockingly to Scott, even laughing with the twins about it too. "At least she's got more taste in friends than you, you four-eyed XXXXX!" Knives spat at Julie.
At first Julie laughed it off, only to realise what her high school enemy had actually said. "What the XXXX did you call me...?" She growled in anger, but Knives didn't say anything back and merely smirked with pride. "You heard her. You guys are gonna pay for nearly wrecking our band and making me break my bass!" And after he spoke, Scott got into a fighting pose with Knives (Status: Tag Team once more). Robot-01 was pretty scared (Note: This is definitely an understatement.) to fight the two again after remembering that he lost his head to them, literally, only for Ken to step in front of him.
"Don't worry, buddy. This isn't your fight." He began, to the relief of his first robotic creation, before letting Kyle finish his sentence. "It's their battle this time." He said before summoning two robots, a blue human-sized one (Robot-02. Fun Fact: His only appearance was in the novels.) and a huge black one with white and red parts (Robot-03. Fun Fact: Also only appeared in the novels), both eager to fight their foes. Seconds later, Scott and Knives were immediately taken by surprise when both robots rushed towards them.

ROUND 3 (OR 4 IF YOU COUNT KNIVES' OFFSCREEN FIGHT)
FIGHT!
"Wait what?!" Scott asked, seeing the fighting title in shock, right before he got punched in the face by the big robot and sent flying into a nearby table. Knives was lucky enough dodge the attack of Robot-02 before she began fighting it too. Before she did, however, Knives managed to smack Julie in the face with her bare fist (Not her intentional way of getting revenge to be fair), knocking her out instantly. Meanwhile, Ramona was out on the balcony, sadly looking at the distance like she had nothing better to do. Said moment, however, was interrupted when Kyle appeared beside her.
"Ken and I thought you might want this, Ramona." He said before Ramona turned towards him, glaring into his soul before snatching the bottle. "You guys seriously think you know me so well?" Ramona asked in a sarcastic manner before turning away. "It's in your nature, Flowers. We both know what'll happen in the end. Everywhere you go, people get hurt because of you, so why delay the inevitable...?" Kyle (Status: Crossing the line...emotional-wise) then asked mockingly before going back inside to watch the fight. The way he said those nasty things, Ramona began to think on it, even gently clutching her necklace, wondering if Scott and the others would get hurt because of her, just like...no.
The twins were just trying to get into her head, she couldn't let them do that to her. The balcony door opened again, and Ramona, thinking it was one of her twin exes, growled in frustration. "Can't you guys XXXX off?! I'm not falling for-!" She began in anger, only to stop when she saw Kim (Emotion: Shocked...though not showing it like usual) standing there. "Woah, it's just me Rammy." She said gently, even shocked by the outburst from Ramona's part. "Oh...sorry, Kim." Ramona said apologetically to Kim despite her head still glowing. Though in this moment, Kim took the opportunity to snap a photo of her friend's glowing head.
Back inside, during Scott's and Knives' ongoing fight with Robots 02 and 03, Kim and Ramona went to the bed upstairs where Ramona saw her glowing head for the first time. "Woah...I honestly never noticed that before." She said, unable to know what to think of it. "What does it mean exactly then, Rammy?" Kim then asked after looking back from the fight downstairs. "Honestly...I have no idea." Ramona admitted with a sigh. "Come on, I'm not offended. If you can't tell me, you don't have to." Kim then said reassuringly with a smile, making Ramona feel a little better than before. "It's...a bit too complicated for me to say right now..." She then said to Kim gently.
A moment later, she began to drink from the bottle Kyle had given her and even offered it to Kim who didn't want any at first...but eventually gave in and had some. "You think Scott and Knives are ok down there?" Ramona asked a little drunkenly after lying down on the bed. Kim tried to answer, only for a loud crashing noise, going down through five or six floors, to answer that for her.
KO!
"C'mon. This is Scott Pilgrim and Knives we're talking about. I think they're just fine." Kim said, looking at the lower level to see Scott and Knives (Both their Notes: Victory is ours!) after beating the two robots and sending them down about five or six floors from Julie's apartment party. Everyone then began to leave, claiming that Julie no longer had any cool parties and even saying that she sucked big time much to the latter's (Julie will remember that) shock. "Hey guys, Rammy's getting worried up here!" Kim yelled to the duo below.
A while later, Scott and Knives joined the girls, and inevitably got drunk on the tequila. "Hey, Rammy...have you ever dated anyone who wasn't evil...?" Knives drunkenly (She never thought that would happen to her again) asked. "Not that we're complaining or anything, because I still love you." Scott then added reassuringly despite being a little drunk. "Only once, but he was XXXX and dumped me, unceremoniously..." Ramona admitted in annoyance. "I've been thinking...should I go back to school?" Kim then asked gently. "You totally should. I mean, I should too." Ramona added with a smirk.
"We could go together with Knives!" Kim then giddily (So out of character for her...but in a good way.) suggested to Knives' immediate amazement. "What major could we work in?!" Knives then asked with excitement on the possibility. "Dating." "Rugby?" "Sports!" "Zoological Anthropology!" "Shopping!" "Teaching?!" "T-Tequila!" The girls suggested, their drunken states kicking in within seconds. And about a while later, they were all sprawled out over each other. "Seriously, you guys...I seriously love you all. You're the best thing that happened to me since I moved to Toronto." Ramona said gratefully before giving Kim a kiss on the head and Knives a kiss on the cheek.
"W-What time is it...? Is it time to go home or something...?" Scott then drunkenly asked. "S-Shut up, Scott..." Kim drunkenly said, though in a loving tone. "Rammy...I seriously wish I could be you. That confidence, amazing fighting skills, beauty..." Knives then said to Ramona, complementing her (Knives' Note: I mean it) for everything about her. "Where've you guys been all my life...?" Ramona then asked as she sighed lovingly and held the girls closer.
"And Scott's sooo good...I-I've kissed those lips...before they kissed you...before." Knives then unintentionally (Not-So Fun Fact: While still drunk) blurted out gently. Almost immediately, Ramona, despite her drunken state, wondered what Knives meant...only to get caught by an angered Julie. Afterwards, all four of them were kicked out of the apartment, even hearing that Julie might actually be losing it tomorrow given all the damages the fight between the robots, Scott and Knives had caused. "Let's take Subspace, it's much faster. You girls can stay the night in our bed!" Ramona giddily suggested to Knives and Kim.
"Thank you for the offer, Ramona. But if we, and by extension...me and Knives, if we did Subspace right now, we'd puke..." Kim pointed out drunkenly, even Knives drunkenly nodded her head up and down constantly (Kim's Note: Oh man...what am I gonna tell her parents if they find out...? Eh, who cares, I'll deal with it in the morning...) and had to be stopped by Kim. "Besides, I don't want Knives' parents worrying about her...we can still get the last bloor train..." Kim then said before hugging her friends.
At the subway station
Kim and Knives (Status: Less drunk than before luckily) were both waiting on the platform for their train ride home. While they waited, Knives managed to scare off a guy trying to hit on Kim by faking a near-vomit on him, who she figured was disgusted by that almost immediately. "You two have been here all along..." "Haven't you...?" Two familiar (Yet sinister) voices said from behind the girls, causing them to turn and see the Katayanagi Twins (Status: Preparing to up the stakes via new plan), standing right behind the two. "What...? Here at the subway station...?" Kim asked in annoyance.
"Clever girls." "Despite everything, you stand beside Scott Pilgrim." "No matter the cost." The two said one after the other, almost like they...planned for something (Kim's Note: Ok, this is kinda spooking me out...). "What's it to you Japanese Jokes...?" Knives then spat at the twins despite their smirks. "Despite breaking things off with both of you, he's still important to you girls." Ken started, almost fascinated by how long Kim and Knives stood by Scott's side. "Indeed he is, brother." Kyle finished.
"Ok, can you guys XXXX off now? Whatever business you've got, we're not interested." Knives (Emotion: So not in the mood for this tonight!) began as she tried to hurry Kim away...only to get blocked by Robot-01, and second later were grabbed by the twins. "You misunderstand, Miss Chau..." Ken began after his smirk became a glare of anger. "It's personal..." Kyle finished before both girls were gassed by Robot-01 and passed out.
Back at Scott's and Ramona's apartment
Scott and Ramona had just come in the door via subspace and already the two began to make out (Even as Lil' Gideon (Ramona's Cat) saw the two come in), going all the way up to the bedroom where they made out some more before finally hitting the hay. However…Ramona, having snapped out of her drunken state, couldn't sleep a wink with her mind thinking back to one thing that Knives mentioned earlier. "Did...did you...cheat on me...?" She said to herself, though she meant to ask the question to a mumbling Scott, who was nearly asleep.
"Scott...did you cheat on me with Knives...?" She then asked her boyfriend, who finally woke up a little. "W-Wha..? No..." He responded reassuringly. It didn't, however, stop Ramona's head from glowing brightly, nor her anger to build up within her on the though that her own boyfriend was lying to her. "Well Knives mentioned you and the fact that she kissed those lips before they kissed me. What did she mean?" Ramona then gently asked while keeping her voice as low as possible. "I-It's because...s-she only kissed me once, but...I didn't kiss her back. S-She was still in high school and I-" Scott began, but before he could even continue, the words spoken immediately went through Ramona's mind to her shock.
"What?! You dated a high schooler?!" She exclaimed, her anger rising slightly more. She couldn't...no, she was unable to believe it. Scott dating Knives Chau, a high schooler?! The kind of thing that was frowned upon by everyone in Toronto, let alone the whole world?! "B-But we split up on good terms though after beating that one guy at the Rockit (See Ramona Flowers' Race Against Time for more info). She understood everything and...we're still friends." Scott immediately explained, telling what happened afterwards and how everything was cleared up.
Ramona (Emotion: Anger. Levels: Critical), however, just glared harshly at her boyfriend before turning away from him in disgust. "I honestly thought you were better than that..." She bitterly growled towards Scott. "S-So did I, Ramona! I swear, it just happened. Envy's to blame for the whole thing, I just wanted to take dating easy with someone who wasn't her. Then Wallace said the whole thing was frowned upon a-and I've been trying to make things better for everyone ever since. I swear, I-I'm-" Scott tried to plead his case with his own girlfriend, only for four words to come out from her.
"You're a horrible person." Ramona responded harshly as her head continued to glow brightly, almost blinding-like if Scott had turned around. "-a horrible person!" Scott then spoke, the very words that his girlfriend had just used...and then he stopped and realised what they both said. "W-Wait...you really think I'm a horrible person...?" Scott then asked Ramona gently, his mood coming down so much, though with his worries rising up (In other words: Panic!). "Well, you're a liar for one thing! And you cheated on Knives for another! Is there anything else I should know about?!" Ramona then angrily asked, feeling like there were a lot more things that Scott hadn't told her at all.
"N-No, nothing! Besides, ever since the Rockit, like I mentioned, I've been trying to change myself, to be better, Ramona! I'm trying to change for you and everyone else!" Scott responded, making a very good point (Especially since the guy writing this made that possible so far) after everything he, Ramona and their friends had gone through. "Well great. Good job, Pilgrim. You actually tricked me into thinking you were a nice guy. But you're really just another evil ex-boyfriend waiting to happen, aren't you?!" Ramona then angrily spoke, her words immediately silencing her own boyfriend, even making him freeze on the spot in horror and think the worst-case scenario.
However, at the same time, when she realised her own harsh words, Ramona's anger turned to one of sadness and regret, feeling hypocritical since she was the one with the seven evil exes...sure, two of them she made amends with and confronted the other two...but it don't make her feel any better. In fact, nowadays she honestly didn't want anyone else to get hurt because of her, especially Scott and her friends...not like...when she was a child, not like... "Are you breaking up with me...?" Scott then asked to his worry. "I...don't want to talk about it. Not right now, Scott..." She gently responded, not wanting to say anything hurtful that would tear both her and Scott apart forever.
The two just lay there in silence, unable to speak to each other just in case they said something they'd regret. But with Ramona's words echoing through his mind, Scott decided to break the silence. "I'm sorry, Rammy..." He said apologetically, causing Ramona to look towards him slightly. "W-What…?" She asked gently. "I-I'm sorry for being a horrible person. I just…don't know, it all happened and I wasn't trying to hurt anyone." He admitted, trying to keep himself from freaking out. "You know sorry isn't good enough sometimes, right?" Ramona then said to Scott, and her boyfriend immediately knew that all too well after everything he'd endured.
"Yeah…but starting tomorrow, I'm gonna make everything better. I'ma fight the twins and Gideon, and fix things..." Scott said, promising to finish everything tomorrow, for himself, Ramona and everyone else. "Yeah…you do that...Charlie." Ramona then said gently before the two drifted off to sleep, though Scott('s Note: Who's Charlie? Another ex...?) could've sword Ramona said someone else's name there...
The next morning...
Scott immediately woke up, recalling the argument both he and Ramona had last night before going to sleep. He turned to see her...only to see that Ramona wasn't in bed, and immediately assuming the worst, Scott (Status: No heartbeat!) believed that Ramona had left him without a word. He would've freaked out and looked around the place...only to hear water running in the bathroom, and making Scott realise that she was taking a shower. He then looked at Gideon (The cat), who gave him a slightly annoyed look, like he was an idiot for believing Ramona had left. "What...? Can't I be allowed to be scared or something?" Scott asked rhetorically.
He would've gotten out of bed and probably get ready for the day, only for Ramona's phone to go off, giving Scott a fright almost immediately. Looking at the phone, Scott saw that it was a text message from Kim, only...it didn't sound anything like what Kim would say. It said the following:
Hello Pilgrim.
We have something or yours that we took last night
If you want them back, come and get us at the Dragon's Den.
But come alone with Ramona and no one else...or else...
Sincerely but unfriendly
Kyle and Ken Katayanagi
Spotting a photo below the message, Scott scrolled down and gasped in horror at it. It was a photo Kyle and Ken, grinning evilly while both Kim and Knives were bound together upside down over what looked to be a smelting pit. Knives' face being held by by Ken while tears streamed from her eyes while Kim was panicking as Kyle and Robot-01 were controlling a bigger robot than before. The very sight of this image was enough to make Scott (Emotion: Fury (About to be unleashed too)) growl with absolute anger and rage. "You've crossed the line, you Japanese jokes!" He angrily spoke to himself before kicking a toy octopus, which bounced back and hit him in the face.
He then fell to the ground and caused a lot of noise, which seemed to catch Ramona's attention, because seconds later, she came out of the bathroom with a towel wrapped around her hair, looking pretty annoyed. "Scott, for XXXX's sake, what the hell are you yelling about?!" She asked, even seeing the mess he'd made briefly. However, her expression changed when she saw Scott's angered expression. "S-Scott...? What's wrong?" She then gently asked before he jerked his head towards her. "It's those twins! They kidnapped Kim and Knives!" He said, showing her the text message and photo as proof.
"Oh my god..." Ramona gasped in horror before she looked at Scott, who still had his angered expression (And glowing head too. Fun Fact: He's finally ready to finish off those two XXXhats!). "Those two are totally gonna die for kidnapping my ex-girlfriends! Call Wallace and Stephen. I might need some backup!" Scott then growled as he immediately threw on his clothes and was ready to dart out the door to the Twins' lair. "Scott, wait for me! I'm coming too!" Ramona said as she immediately got her clothes on as well. He was in a rage, sure, but Scott was glad Ramona wanted to help him still despite last night.
Then the two were out of the room, down the stairs, onto the street and away towards the twins' lair. While running, Scott couldn't help but notice that Ramona had cut her hair again back to how he originally saw it...though he didn't ask her why, given the current situation at hand.
At the twins' lair (Aka, The Dragon's Den. Same level from the game)
Scott and Ramona wasted no time in fighting whatever Kyle and Ken sent their way. Security, minions, dogs, bats, robots, boulders, puzzles, you name it. Though while fighting, Ramona noticed how more enraged Scott had become, how he was ignoring love and focusing on destroying Kyle and Ken. It bothered her immensely since he was never this ragefully challenged in any fight, but Ramona didn't want to stop Scott since Kim and Knives' lives were at stake. After solving a puzzle to the twins' main lair, Scott rushed through the door with Ramona, and both were met with darkness at first.
"Oh come on! If someone tells me sorry, but your ex-girlfriends are in another castle, I'm gonna kill them!" Scott growled in frustration. "Scott, calm down. This is definitely the place..." Ramona said, effectively calming Scott down a little...or at least, until the lights came back on. The whole room was illuminated to reveal everything, including the twins (Aka the Final Bosses of this chapter), who stood in the middle of the room. "About time you both got here." Kyle said, satisfied that Scott and Ramona had arrived to their lair on time.
"A few seconds later and we would've gotten rid of your friends." Ken finished before snapping his fingers and caused a pair of giant robot arms to over over two separate pits of lava. Dangling from either fist was Kim and Knives (Status: In peril!), both tied up and panicking. "You see, Pilgrim...this is why only fools date Ramona Flowers." Ken then began smugly towards Scott('s Note: Where have I heard that reference before...?), already angering him enough. "Because you never know when some psychopath comes along with a sadistic choice." Kyle added with the same amount of smugness.
"Put your first girlfriend out of her misery..." Ken then said, looking towards Kim, whose shoe dropped into the lava pit and melted instantly. "Or...murder your high school ex-girlfriend." Kyle added whilst viciously glaring at Knives, who struggled to get free yet panicked over the fact that Robot-01 (More evil than cute in this case) could let her drop to her demise. "Leave them out of this, guys! They have nothing to do with this fight! You cheated!" Ramona then said, stepping forward and calling out her twin exes, who merely smirked. "Ha! That's the reason why we joined the league of exes in the first place." Ken then laughed off mockingly.
"You two-timing XXXX." Kyle added with a frown. Scott merely just rolled his eyes in annoyance, having known the deal with the twins by now. "You may have played us against each other at our own game back in college. But never again." "We vowed after that day, to always work together!" Kyle and Ken then said one after the other firmly as the grabbed grabbed each other's hand instantly.

"And it's high time to take care of your precious Scott once and for all." Ken then spoke as he and Kyle prepared to fight. "Fine by me. Besides, you guys had this coming for a long time!" Ramona added as she pulled out her Large Hammer, just as Scott summoned The Power of Love (Scott's sword he'd gotten from two chapters ago) from his chest. "And as for your boss, and I really hope he gets this, you can both tell him he's next!" Scott yelled while pointing his sword at the twins.

Scott and Ramona rushed towards Kyle and Ken, hoping to immediately slam their weapons into them, but due to their hangover and the twins' Double Hurricane Kick (First Twin move from the novels), they both faltered and got sent flying to the ground. This, in turn, also surprised both twins. "What's wrong with you both?" Ken asked mockingly. "Why not pick up the pace, dear Ramona?" Kyle added smugly. "We're trying, XXXhat...we both had a lot to drink and..." Scott began as he shook his head. "You guys are hungover like me and Knives, Scott..." Kim called down to Scott from above the fight. The mention of being hungover shocked both Kyle and Ken.
"What? You would dare show up to our final battle hungover?!" Kyle began in anger, and would've let Ken finish his sentence, only for Ramona to cut him off by barfing up on his shoes, messing them up in the process to his immediate shock. "You insolent XXXXX! We'll teach you to some respect." Kyle growled as he rushed to kick Ramona in the head, only for Scott to get in his way and block the kick, even performing a reversal too. He would've done one of his signature moves against him, only for Ken link back up with his brother and to take him by surprise via their Simul-Punch (Second Twin move from the novels) and sent him flying into the ground.
"Seriously...that's totally dirty, fighting us at the same time!" Scott growled as Ramona helped him up from the crater he left behind. Though the sight of his anger made her concerned. "Says the one who's dating a total hypocrite." Ken laughed off as the continuously dodged Scott's and Ramona's attacks. "That doesn't excuse both of you guys! Not after you guys hurt those other girls back in college!" She spat back while trying to kick Kyle in the stomach, only for him to grab her leg at the last second and, with his twin, send her flying into Scott via their Arial Dragon Catapult move (Third Twin move (Which is entirely new for this story)).
"So what? We were young back then and wanted fun. And we would've if you had just been a nicer girl to us." Ken immediately said before both he and Kyle pinned both Scott to the wall and Ramona to the floor, feet on their stomachs, in a matter of seconds with their Dual Megaton Crusher technique (Fourth Twin Move (Also entirely new)) all to the horror of Kim and Knives. And it was here that the twins took advantage of the situation. "Do you know the real reason why Ramona even came to Toronto, Canada, Pilgrim?" Kyle then asked, turning to Scott with an evil smirk.
"S-She got a job working for Amazon and delivering packages. I already knew that part." Scott groaned as he tried to reach for the Power of Love, only for Ken to apply more pressure on his chest with his foot before he even got near the sword, all while Kyle held Ramona back, pinning her arms with just one arm required while making her feel helpless. "Wrong...she came her to escape." Ken immediately said into Scott's ear. "Scott, don't listen to them!" Ramona yelled as she tried to get free, only for Kyle to pull her hair back and hurting her so badly. "Escape? From what exactly?" Scott then asked in confusion.
"Herself..." "And Gideon." Kyle and Ken then said in unison, all as Kyle just forced Ramona to listen to everything they continued to tell Scott. "She's a runner, Pilgrim." Ken then spoke up while glaring at his foe. "She used to work for Gideon. Which her services are dearly missed." Kyle added, revealing something that Ramona never even told Scott or her friends since day one to her horror (And absolute embarrassment too...). "Uh...can we talk about something else now?" Scott asked nervously after seeing how uncomfortable his girlfriend was. "How about getting us down from here before I throw up on you guys, alright?!" Kim yelled from above in annoyance.
"It doesn't matter what she did...we fought the league together! I still love her no matter what! And I'm honestly glad you played you two against each other back in college. Because I might've cheated on Knives many months ago...and I'm not denying it, but at least I wasn't as bad of a boyfriend as either of you!" Scott said, right before he kicked Ken in the stomach with his free leg and sent him flying into his brother, causing the latter to release Ramona from his grasp. Scott was determined to take them both down, alone if he had to. Ramona was glad that her boyfriend admitted his faults and even accepted hers, and it was just what they needed to stop them.
Kim was also proud that Scott was owning up for everything. "Well said, Scotty! Plus, it really must suck having a brother like you, Kylie!" Knives then yelled before laughing slightly. Almost in an instant, Kyle and Ken jerked their heads towards Knives in confusion. "How do you mean, Miss Chau...?" Kyle asked, confused yet annoyed (More like sick of her and wanting to destroy her by any means). "Maybe shut up, you little brat." Ken immediately growled, almost desperately threatening-like. "I mean, your brother told me he secretly took away a few of the girls you dated, using a mind control microchip to make one of them break up with you, because he wanted her all to himself." Knives explained (Ramona's Note: Is Knives...lying...?) while snickering.
Hearing this, Scott began snickering a little too. "It's like you told me and Kim last night, Ken. Your brother can live in your shadow while you take all the girls for you." Hearing this from Knives, Kyle got angry and turned towards his own brother. "I-It's not true, brother! I swear, she's making it all up, trying to throw us off our game and bring us down!" Ken exclaimed in panic, but nothing he said helped his case, especially when his brother began approaching him menacingly. "You would dare dishonour our agreement after so many years?!" Kyle growled as he tried to punch his brother, only to get blocked at the last second.
Five or six seconds later though, the two began fighting each other again. "Heh...good one, Knives. That'll do the trick." Kim snickered as well. Hearing this, Ken growled angrily (Status: Feeling screwed over) and shoved his brother away from him. "You want a laugh eh, you little XXXXX? Well how about THIS?!" And after speaking this, he snapped his fingers, signalling to Robot-01 to drop both girls. "NO!" Scott and Ramona exclaimed in panic as Kim and Knives fell towards the lava pits to their demise. However, Scott, acting quickly, ran towards them with Ramona, and without warning, jumped across and grabbed Kim, getting her out of danger immediately.
Ramona meanwhile, grabbed Knives, though it seemed like she wouldn't have made it to Scott's immediate horror. Luckily at the last second, a hand grabbed hers and pulled her up. Looking over, Scott saw Wallace (Always there to help his buddy and girlfriend out no matter what. Fun Fact: Got teleported there thanks to Mobile just in time.) helping Ramona up to safety before untying Knives with Stephen's (Status: Also there to save his bandmates) help. "I'm sorry you girls got involved, Kim. I-I just didn't think..." Scott tried to apologise to Kim as he untied her.
"Don't worry about it, Scott...it's cool." She said to Scott in so much relief before they both got to their feet. With the girls out of harm's way, Scott turned to Kyle and Ken, who were still arguing over Knives' lies. "Thanks for saving us, Rammy." Knives said, hugging Ramona gratefully. "Your my friend, Knives. I would never leave you or Kim to die like that, ever." Ramona said while hugging Knives back. And they briefly stopped to notice the group looking right at them. "Impossible. R-Ramona..." "Can change?!" They both said one after another in disbelief. Seconds later though, Scott and Knives (Last Tag Team) rushed towards them and smashed their heads together.
"Brother, we may have underestimated Pilgrim and his troop." Kyle said in a panic. "Not in the slightest." Ken said, trying to attack Scott and Knives by himself, only to fail...and right before hearing a voice to call towards him from the other end of the room. "Hey! You mess with that poor little angel, you mess with all of us!" Wallace yelled before hitting a button (One he stole from the Twins before saving Ramona) that shot one of the giant robot arms, sending it flying towards the pair like a rocket...only for them to dodge out of the way at the last second, causing it to hit the wall in front of them. "Ha! You missed, queer-boy." Kyle said mockingly to Wallace.
"Did I though...?" Wallace then said with a smirk before the wall began to crack, shooting up towards the ceilings before a giant twin dragon statue fell towards Kyle and Ken. "Oh XXXX..." The twins both spoke in unison and Japanese before they were both crushed by the statue instantly. The result caused both twins and the statue to explode into what seemed to be two separate dragon spirits, one black and one white, before said dragons dissipated into so many coins.

After that moment, the whole group was silent yet in absolute relief, oblivious to the fact that Robot-01 (Status: Making his cowardly retreat after his creators lost) had fled the lair seconds afterwards. The fact that two of their friends had barely avoided being melted in lava sinking in, to Ramona most of all, right before Knives decided to break the silence. "Just think...one last XXXXXXX to go and Ramona will be free from those guys forever, right?" She said with a slight chuckle. "Yeah...that definitely sounds about right, Knives." Scott then responded gently before the group decided to leave the building.
Meanwhile...
Gideon (Ramona's Seventh and Final Ex. Emotion: Unsurprised. Status: Just witnessed his last two League members fall) watched the whole battle take place and, if anything, wasn't really that surprised that he lost his last two minions at all. In fact, he merely just sighed in slight annoyance before turning off the monitor showing the group leaving. "And then there was one..." He muttered to himself. Nevertheless, he stood up from his throne and simply walked to a secret room he had to the left of his chair. Once inside, he looked over blueprints and a few plans he had, including a wall of obsession involving Ramona.
He also felt like something (Something he never shows anyone) was missing, like one of his journals, from the room in a way...but he shrugged it off. "I'm sorry your little league didn't work after all, sir." His butler then said apologetically, though Gideon himself scoffed at the words. "Please...what would those fools know about Ramona anyway? They were just a means to an end...I know how all of this will really end. Not Pilgrim or his cohorts." He said, the words themselves giving the butler a slight fright. A few moments later, Gideon's interns entered the secret room to see their boss.
"You wanted to see us, G-man?" One of them asked gently, right as the latter turned to see them expectantly. "Ah yes, not a moment too soon. I'll need the whereabouts of Natalie Adams (Scott's Famous Ex), and be sure to have the construction team get my seventh Chaos Theatre ready within the next four months or so." He then said to them with a simple smirk. "At once, G-Man. Also, where will your seventh chaos theatre be in the world this time?" Another intern asked their boss in confusion. "Toronto, Canada." Gideon revealed with a simple smirk as he looked over his plans for his Chaos Theatre in Toronto.
On the way out of the twins' lair
Scott and the gang had just about reached the entrance to the Katayanagi Twins' lair, where they stuck together most of the way and even made sure Kim and Knives were really ok. "You sure you girls are ok?" Stephen (Caring for Knives and Kim like never before.) asked Kim with concern. She would've been annoyed...but after everything, she let it slide this time. "Well...I'm so ready to hop into the shower when I get back." She said with a slight chuckle. "What about you and Ramona, Scott? Are you two ok from last night? You looked like you had it rough..." Knives then asked Scott, having noticed the way he and Ramona were struggling to fight the twins, one part due to their hangover and other part...something else.
Scott's head glowed slightly as he then stopped in his tracks. "Well...the sooner that last XXXhat is gone, the better for all of us and Ramona, right...?" He said, not giving a clear answer. Wallace would've pressed the matter further, only to stop when he saw Ramona (Status: Distancing herself to protect everyone...? Depression levels: High) walk by the group to their shock. "Hey, Rammy...are you alright?" Scott then asked, causing her to stop and turn towards them to her slight shock as well as her glowing head. The way her head was glowing brightly, and not to mention the depressed state she was in, like she felt so much guilt for what happened, was enough to tell Kim she wasn't ok.
"They nearly died because of me..." Was all Ramona could tearfully let out. "Hey, we're fine. I mean, I knew the risks of this whole adventure...but I'm fine, Rammy." Knives said to Ramona reassuringly. "And plus, we did take care of those Japanese Jokes too, right?" Wallace added too. Though nothing stopped Ramona's tears from falling to the ground, let alone her head from glowing brighter than before. "Ok, not gonna deny it...those guys said those things which may or may not be true, but..." Scott began as Ramona looked away from him. "Ramona, I love you, ok? I love you here and now. I don't care what you did, where you are or even who you are. As long as you love me." He managed to finish boldly.
"But…I've done bad things…" Ramona pointed out tearfully as the intensifying glow around her began engulfing her little by little. "The two of us have. I mean, who hasn't done anything bad?" Scott pointed out, trying to ease Ramona's guilt as best as he could. "And I'm a horrible person, and a crummy girlfriend." She added, not denying what she did in the past, especially to her exes. "Hey, people can change, Rammy. You did that for all of us. Supported us, even cared about us too." Scott also pointed out, and given everything that happened in the past several months or so, he was right, all while he approached Ramona gently.
Ramona meanwhile, thought about that despite the glow engulfing her...and then turned to her boyfriend, when he placed his hand on her shoulder, with a simple smile. "Scott…guys…thank you…" She said to them gratefully, to her friends' confusion but to the obliviousness of Scott. "No problem, really." Scott said. Stephen wanted to ask why she'd just said that, only to get cut off seconds later. "I…had a good time…" Ramona finished up before the glow intensified completely to Scott's shock. "Wait...wh-what are you talking about, Rammy?" He asked, but he never got an answer before the glow shined brightly, nearly blinding everyone until it dimmed down.
Though by then...Ramona completely vanished without a trace to everyone's shock, and where she once stood was a letter was left on the floor in front of Scott. "Where'd she go…?" Knives asked, looking around for any sign of Ramona (Desperately), but she had completely gone. "Does this mean...she left us...?!" Stephen asked in a panicked expression. Kim wanted to hit him on the back of his head, only for Wallace to stop her before he had the chance. "I...I don't know..." Scott said to his friends gently in disbelief, right before he fell to his knees. After everything that happened, all the hardships they'd gone through to help Ramona...she left anyway.
His thoughts rattling throughout his head as his own tears fell to the floor. The fact that Ramona had found out he cheated on Knives and never told her despite breaking things off on good terms, the way she said he was another evil ex waiting to happen bitterly, of course he wouldn't have gotten away with that...and he knew that was the reason she left. Scott didn't think otherwise or delude himself into thinking anyone else was to blame... "That's rough, buddy..." Wallace said, kneeling down beside Scott and patting him on the back gently. Even Knives did her best to comfort Scott too.
"Wait, how's he gonna get back into that apartment he moved into?" Stephen gently (Yet slightly idiotically to Kim's slight anger) asked, causing Scott to jerk up in panic and even feel around in his pockets for his key to his and Ramona's place, fearing he'd forgotten it again unlike last time...
Q: Did Scott Pilgrim forget his key again?
A: Yes he…didn't?!
Feeling his pockets a bit more though...Scott found Ramona's key to their place. He immediately remembered feeling Ramona's hand in his pocket right before she completely vanished and realized that she must've given it to Scott just in case he got locked out again. There was also a little note from Ramona on the key too.
Try not to lose or forget this one again.

"She gave her key to him...even though she left...does that mean...?" Stephen began in confusion. "Stephen can you do us a favor right now? Shut up." Kim said bluntly to him in both stress and annoyance. Stephen then went quiet after that, realising the situation at hand. The crusade against the exes was over and Scott was all alone again...and he didn't feel like anyone else was to blame but himself...and nobody knew where Ramona had gone to, given how she vanished without a trace...it was all over...
Back at the apartment...
Scott entered the building, the silence was so deafening for him. Even as he headed up to the kitchen, he just sat down at the table, thinking to himself about what he could've done differently, anything to get his mind off the fact that he messed up everything and probably had no way to fix it. He was so caught up in his thoughts, he didn't see his girlfriend's cat, Gideon, stroking himself against his leg. He looked around before turning towards Scott, hoping for Ramona to come back soon. "I don't think she's coming back, Gideon...I don't know anything anymore..." Scott said, sounding defeated before passing out on the table moments later due to stress.
Scott stumbled through a desert, the weight of failure and despair crushing down on him, worse than even a ton of bricks. "Oh god...I'm...I'm so alone...all alone, forever..." He said to himself, almost making him cry out into the vast distance. "Don't worry, Scotty. You're not alone..." The lone cactus beside him spoke to his confusion.
Over at Wallace's Place...
"I'm right here for you, buddy." Wallace said, snapping Scott out of his daydream or such, causing Scott to groan in annoyance. "Come on, it's been like a week since her disappearance, Scott. She left for a reason, and you need to figure out what that reason is otherwise-" Wallace then began, only to get cut off by an angered Scott. "I know the reason, Wallace! I made a mess of everything! I didn't tell her about me dating Knives and now she's gone forever and I'm never getting her back!" He yelled in frustration before banging his head on the table.
"Wallace isn't wrong, Scott. That's how we move forward in life." Mobile (Wallace's Psychic Boyfriend. Status: Trying to be helpful to Scott despite everything) said after entering the room. Scott nearly thought he was Gideon at first, only to remember seeing Mobile once or twice before. "But how can I move forward from something like this?!" Scott then asked, wondering just how in the hell he could ever hope to recover from this whole mistake he'd made. "I don't know. You've got to figure this out for yourself." Mobile then said, causing Scott to sigh sadly, even look away too. "That's what I thought..." He then said before leaving for work to the concern of his former roommate.
Later on during the coming days...
Everything was a mess, for Scott most of all...
GAME OVER...
He could barely focus during work, unable to stop thinking about Ramona's departure, though on the slightly more plus side, Stephen and Dominique were always there for him the entire time. Stephen even offered to bring his bandmate to a bar and talk about the future of Sex Bob-Omb, though Scott had to decline due to the responsibility of looking after Lil' Gideon in Ramona's place.
Things weren't much better with Kim after the whole kidnapping plot as one time, when she called her bandmates to meet her place, and it was there, to Scott's shock and Knives' horror, that she was thinking about moving back home and didn't know when she'd ever come back. The group freaked out and begged Kim not to, though in the end...she did. At least by then though, Sex Bob-Omb had completed their first album (Thanks to Joseph and Stephen's work), one copy for each band member too in fact.
Scott decided, after all this time and especially during their crusade against the exes, to apologies to Kim for everything, about about him...all to which she smiled and accepted. Once she left, Knives was left broken-hearted, and Scott had to comfort her for like several hours, he couldn't blame her. Sex Bob-Omb was one of the best things that every happened to her in her life...and now it was all broken up.
Everything was wrong and weird...and hardly anyone could move past it. Though on a more positive note, the gang did find out Julie had moved back into her old place after being evicted from the apartment she rented for parties had all the damages done, and Knives couldn't stop laughing upon hearing the karma she'd gotten for all that sabotage...though it wasn't enough sadly.
Sometime afterwards...
At Ramona's apartment
Scott was sitting in the living room where his parents (First mentioned about eight chapters back. Fun Fact: Both appeared in the novels and Game) and Stacey (Scott's Younger Sister. Status: There for her little brother in these dark times) had come to visit after so long. They'd heard about Scott's problems, especially after Ramona had left him, and offered to get him a new apartment, but the latter had to decline because as he put it, he couldn't bring himself to leave the place. "Chin up, Scott. You've always got us if ever you need anything. We're just a call away." Mr. Pilgrim said to his son reassuringly.
"Thanks, dad...really." Scott said gratefully with a slight smile. "And don't give up, buddy. There's probably like a million girls out there who'd want you." His father then while patting on his son's back. "You spoil him too much, Joshua. It's a wonder why he made those questionable decisions, including dating a high schooler." Mrs. Pilgrim said, complaining to her husband about spoiling him too much while unintentionally revealing to have known about Scott dating Knives to both his and Stacey's horror. "Mom, you told me you weren't gonna mention that." Stacey complained in embarrassment.
"Are we just about done here? I only came to get my bass back." Another voice finally spoke up, causing Scott to turn towards someone who he thought looked like Gideon. He would've attacked him, only to stop when he recognised the face. "Lawrence. Come on, don't be mean to your brother." Mrs. Pilgrim said to her other son (Lawrence West Pilgrim. Scott and Stacey's Younger Brother. Fun Fact: He was born in December) while calling him out for being blunt towards Scott. "Oh, Lawrence. I didn't know you wore glasses." Scott then said awkwardly as he rubbed the back of his head.
"I've been wearing them since I was fourteen, you idiot." Lawrence spoke in annoyance towards his brother's idiocy. "Oh...right." Scott responded awkwardly. Lawrence then began complaining to his parents, who tried to defuse the situation...but all the while, Scott's mind drifted off...thinking about Ramona yet again, only this time was pretty different.
Flashbacks: (Scott and Ramona's memories)
Back to the day when he first saw Ramona in his dreams...
Moping about being all alone while in the dream desert, Scott's thoughts were cut off when he saw Ramona skating in the distance towards him. "You're not alone...you're just having some stupid dream." She said as she skated on by him while unintentionally getting him interested in her.
To the day when he first met her at Julie's party...
Feeling lonely at Julie's party, Scott suddenly saw Ramona in front of him, even giving him the courage to go speak to her too, about her shoes and Sonic from what he could remember.
Went on a date with her in Hillcrest Park...
The two of them walking through Hillcrest Park a while after Scott had asked Ramona out, and where they mostly played on the swings and talked.
Went back to her place for tea...
Scott and Ramona got their tea (Sleepy Time for both of them like in the novels, movie and anime)
Had their first kiss...
After Scott suggested getting under the blanket, he and Ramona shared their first kiss...and sparks flew between them.
Beating Matthew Patel together with the help of their friends too...
Right after Knives' disoriented Matthew Patel's mojo, Scott and Ramona took the time to finish the fight. "Th-This isn't possible! How can this be?!" Matthew exclaimed in shock. "Open your eyes..." Scott began as he leapt towards him from the stage with Ramona. "And maybe you'll SEE!" Ramona finished, leaping off the stage beside Scott before the two punched Matthew in the face.
Their crusade against the League of Evil Exes...
Ramona explaining about the crusade against her evil exes and Scott, let alone the rest of his friends, accepted to help her out. Heck, even supporting each other throughout the whole adventure as well, and not to mention feeling at home in Toronto as well.
And telling Ramona he loved her.
Scott, right after he spared Roxie's life, along with Mr. Chau departure, told Ramona he loved her, and she said that to him as well...and then they kissed.
Back in reality...
Scott saw his parents leave with Lawrence West, though Stacey opted to stay behind to comfort her little brother after everything. Scott sat on the bed before Stacey walked in on him feeling sad about everything. "Time heals all wounds, little brother. Things will get better eventually." She said to him gently, even rubbing her brother's back pretty gentle too. Though Scott didn't budge an inch from this... "Maybe next time let's not date the girl with the 11, I mean, 7 evil ex boyfriends, ok?" She then said, though this sparked Scott's annoyance and made him think Stacey didn't like Ramona anymore.
"Stace...this isn't like that." Scott said defensively (And more seriously than he'd ever been before) to Stacey's surprise. "Why would you even say it like that, Scott?" She then asked in surprise. "Because I'm the idiot who messed everything up! I was perfectly fine dealing with the exes up until that last battle with them. Then...she left, all because I never told her I dated Knives...if anything, if she did go back to that Gideon guy...I had this coming..." Scott exclaimed, actually blaming himself for his girlfriend's departure over anyone else. After that, Scott calmed down and let his sister comfort him for a good long while.
Sometime afterwards though, Lil' Gideon (Scott's Cat whilst Ramona is away...) came to Scott and handed him the letter Ramona had left behind. Picking it up in confusion, and not to mention wondering why he was given this just now, Scott decided to open the letter and see what it's contents contained, and what it contained (Despite being a letter) shocked both Pilgrim siblings.

Don't wait up for me, 'cause I'm not coming back.

"Woah...was this to her last boyfriend, Scott?" Stacey asked in shock as she looked at Scott. "Must be. She wrote it alright...and meant it, but why didn't she send it?" He then said before looking at his sister in confusion. "Ok, that's pretty weird. Not gonna lie..." She said. Before they could say anything else, the phone rang, causing them both to jump in fright. Stacey then went to pick it up. "H-Hello, who's speaking please...?" She then asked a little nervously, though a few moments later, she handed it to Scott. "It's for you, little brother." She said, and despite his hesitation, Scott took the phone to his ear.
"Hello...?" He asked gently to the person on the other end. "Scott, hey there buddy. Just thought I'd check up on you and your cohorts to see how things are. Didn't want anymore hard feelings, so I thought I'd be the bigger man and give you a call." The person on the other end said much to Scott's confusion, even as he shrugged towards Stacey. "Uh, thanks...?" Scott spoke in confusion. "Not a problem, pal. You see? I'm not such a bad guy after all. Though there's a few things we should talk about. Some, how you'd say, housekeeping to deal with..." The guy said, though sounding pretty threatening in a way.
"Sorry, who the hell is this?" Scott then asked, getting slightly annoyed even after getting an phone call from someone he didn't know. "Heh, and here I thought those other guys said you were an idiot." The guy on the other end laughed, though seconds later, he figured Scott wasn't lying. "Wait, you're serious? Alright, screw it...I'll get right to point..." He then began as Scott and Stacey listened carefully to the phone. "This is your girlfriend's seventh evil ex-boyfriend. Gideon Graves. When would it be convenient for you to die?" Gideon said to Scott with a smirk, sitting on his throne within his lair (Not-So Fun Fact: While NOW spying on him with his monitors).
As if things were bad enough for Scott and the group now...they were just about to get worse for the latter himself.
Seven down...and one to go. But Ramona's gone now...is there any point...?
Wait, what am I saying? The story's not over. Not by a long shot.
Things might look bad for Scott, but there's always a light at the end of the dark tunnel.
