Chapter 6
Abhijeet stormed out of the bureau, his jaw clenched so tightly that it ached. The slap, though painful, wasn't the worst of it. What cut deeper was the loss of trust—his father, the man he had idolized his entire life, didn't believe in him. His lips quivered as he muttered under his breath.
Mujhe yeh sab kyun sehna padta hai? Sirf sach bolne ki saza mil rahi hai.
He unlocked his car with trembling hands, slid into the driver's seat, and started the engine. He didn't have a destination in mind; he just needed to get away. The city lights blurred past him as he drove aimlessly.
The echoes of the bureau's confrontation haunted him. The voices, the taunts, his father's harsh words—all played on a loop in his mind.
He muttered, Aapko kabhi samajh kyun nahi aata, Papa? Main galat nahi hoon. Yeh case sirf ek aur report nahi hai—it's about saving lives.
Finally, his subconscious guided him to the only place that brought him peace: the temple where his mother used to take him as a child.
The cool marble under his feet and the sound of bells in the air reminded him of simpler times—when life wasn't so complicated. He walked inside, his eyes scanning the familiar surroundings. He sat down near a pillar, leaning against it.
Maa, aap hoti toh shayad yeh sab alag hota,he whispered, his voice breaking. Mujhe samajhne wala koi nahi hai. Main kya galat kar raha hoon?
He touched the rudraksha bracelet on his wrist, the one she had given him years ago. He closed his eyes, hoping to feel her presence, to find answers.
But all he felt was emptiness.
Back at home, ACP Pradyuman walked into the living room, his expression as unreadable as ever. Priya looked up from the couch, concern etched on her face.
Papa, aap itni late aaye? Sab theek hai na? she asked, setting aside Aarav's school notebook.
He nodded curtly. Sab theek hai, Priya. Manoj kahan hai?
Apne room mein rest kar rahe hain. Aarav bhi wahi hai unke saath.
Pradyuman walked toward Manoj's room, stopping at the doorway. He found Manoj sitting on the bed, Aarav snuggled beside him, fast asleep with a toy car in his hand. Manoj looked up as his father entered.
Papa, aap?Manoj said, trying to sit up straighter.
Relax, Manoj. Main sirf tumse baat karne aaya hoon.
Manoj adjusted his position, careful not to wake Aarav. Boliye, Papa. Kya hua?
Pradyuman sighed, his hands clasped behind his back. Abhijeet ko suspend kar diya hai.
Manoj's eyes widened in disbelief. Kya? Kis wajah se?
Case ko galat direction mein le ja raha tha, Pradyuman said, his tone firm. Ussne mere orders follow nahi kiye.
Manoj frowned. Papa, aap jaante hain ki Abhi sirf sach ke peeche jaata hai. Agar usne kuch kiya hai, toh shayad uske paas valid reasons hain.
Pradyuman shook his head, dismissing Manoj's defense. Reason hone se farak nahi padta jab woh apne superior ke orders ignore kare. Discipline is non-negotiable,Aur woh abhi repercussions face karna toh
Manoj paused for a moment, then asked cautiously, Aur aapne usse yeh sab kaise bataya?
Pradyuman looked away, his expression hardening.Maine bureau mein usse samjha diya.
Manoj's lips tightened.Samjha diya? Papa, mujhe lagta hai ki Abhi ko apse support ki zarurat thi. Aap usse ek chance de sakte the
Pradyuman's voice rose slightly. Manoj, ACP ke decisions personal nahi hote. Aur waise bhi, mujhe lagta hai ki uske liye yeh ek wake-up call hoga
Manoj decided not to push further, but his unease was evident.
Later, during dinner, Priya noticed the tension in the air. Aarav, sensing the heaviness, tried to lighten the mood.
Dadu, aapko pata hai? Aaj maine school mein race jeeta Aarav said excitedly,
Pradyuman managed a small smile. Achha? Aarav aur kya huva school mein !Aarav in sad tone. sab log mere Lunch khatam karliya
Pradyuman asked him. Are esse kyu
Mumma ka banaya hua paratha! Aarav exclaimed, making everyone chuckle.
As they ate, Priya's gaze kept drifting to the empty chair where Abhijeet usually sat. She couldn't shake off her worry
Manoj noticed her distraction Priya, tum theek ho
She quickly masked her concern.Haan, bas Aarav ki project ke baare mein soch rahi thi
But deep down, she knew it wasn't the project—it was the void left by Abhijeet's absence.
When Abhijeet finally reached home, the house was quiet. He slipped inside, avoiding any confrontation. He wasn't ready to face anyone, especially his father.
He headed straight to his room, locking the door behind him. Stripping off his shirt, he stared at his reflection in the mirror. His swollen cheek and bruised knuckles were stark reminders of the day's events.
After a cold shower, he stood by the window, letting the night breeze wash over him. But even the cool air couldn't soothe the turmoil within. His mind raced with thoughts of the case, his father's anger, and the threat looming over his family.
Finally, he lay on the bed, staring at the ceiling. Exhaustion took over, and he drifted into a restless sleep.
The next morning, Abhijeet walked into the bureau, As he entered, he saw Daya waiting for him .Daya called him morning ask him to come to bureau he came there in informals
Abhi, ACP sir tumse kuch zaruri baat karna chahte hain, Daya said, his expression serious.
Abhijeet frowned but nodded. He walked into his father's cabin, where Pradyuman was waiting with a file in hand.
Sir, aapne bulaya?Abhijeet asked, his tone respectful but distant.
Pradyuman gestured for him to sit, but Abhijeet remained standing.
"Yeh tumhare liye," Pradyuman said, sliding the file across the desk.
Abhijeet picked it up and opened it, his eyes scanning the contents. His jaw tightened as he read the words
"Yeh kya hai?" he demanded, looking up.
Orders from superiors,Pradyuman said matter-of-factly. "Ek mahine ke liye tumhe Raj Singhaniya ki security duty par bheja gaya hai."
Abhijeet's eyes widened in disbelief. "Security duty? Woh bhi Raj Singhaniya ke liye? Sir, yeh kisi punishment se kam nahi hai!"
Pradyuman's expression didn't waver. Discipline seekhne ka yeh ek moka hai. Tumne orders follow nahi kiye, aur iska nateeja yeh hai
Abhijeet's hands curled into fists. "Aapko lagta hai ki main galat hoon, par main yeh karne nahi jaa raha. Main ek officer hoon, bodyguard nahi!"
Pradyuman stood, his voice firm. "CID wale har kaam ke liye tayar hote hain, chahe woh duty pasand ho ya na ho. Yeh tumhara farz hai."
Abhijeet shook his head, his voice trembling with anger. "Farz? Ya ek saza? Aap mujhe Raj Singhaniya ke paas bhej kar kya sabit karna chahte hain?"
Pradyuman's gaze softened for a moment, but his pride didn't allow him to show it. "Yeh mera faisla hai. Tum jaa sakte ho."
Abhijeet stared at his father for a moment, his heart heavy. Without another word, he turned and walked out of the office.
Elsewhere in the city, Raj Singhaniya sat in his luxurious office, reviewing files handed to him by one of his men.
"Toh, ab ACP ka beta mere bodyguard banega?" he said with a smirk. "Abhijeet ko samajhna hoga ki Raj Singhaniya ke against jaane ki saza kya hoti hai.
The man nodded. Woh suspension ke orders le chuka hai. Aapke liye woh sirf ek puppet ban kar rahega.
Raj leaned back in his chair, a sinister glint in his eyes.Achha. Toh khel shuru karte hain!!!
