SANDWICH

"What'cha doin'?" Jirou asked.

"Getting delivery." Kaminari tapped on his phone. "I'm starving."

"Dude. We're at the bottom of the ocean. How are they supposed to-"

"Delivery for Kaminari Denki?" The delivery boy held up a paper bag. "Sorry I was late, I had to arm wrestle a kraken to make it to the emergency hatch."

"What… but…" Jirou sputtered. "How?"

"It's Jimmy John's." Kaminari took a big bite out of his submarine sandwich. "You'd think it's a Quirk, but they've apparently been doing this since before Quirks were a thing."

The delivery boy took out a cable. "And your complimentary phone charger, as requested."

"Sweet! My battery was almost out."

"Your Quirk is electricity," Jirou deadpanned. "Why didn't you recharge it yourself?"

"I'm dumb enough already. Do you really want me burning even more brain cells?"

"That implies you have brain cells left to burn." Jirou blinked. "Wait, they can bring other things down here?"

"Absolutely!" the delivery driver said. "Fulfilling customer requests alongside their sandwich orders is one of our franchise's specialties."

Jirou pulled out her phone. The moment she tapped the submit order button, the delivery driver said, "Order for Jirou Kyouka!"

"Wait. Weren't you just down here?"

"I am not allowed to disclose the location of my prior deliveries."

"No… I mean… how did you get back here so quickly?"

"The kraken let me through this time."

"You know what? Fine. Do you have the thing?"

"You mean the-"

"Yes. That. Gimme. Now."

"Understood! One tuna sub sandwich on Italian bread, hold the bread."

"You got a lump of tuna salad?" Kaminari asked.

"It was cheaper that way." Jirou tossed the squishy lump aside. A crab scuttled out, pointing a knife at everyone as it scooped the tuna mass in its other claw. "And no. The other thing."

"The extra-absorbent-"

"Say another word and I will hurt you."

Kaminari gave Jirou a disgusted look. "Did you ask for-"

"If you have a single brain cell rattling around in that skull of yours, you won't finish that sentence."

Kaminari mimed zipping his lip.

"Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to… eat my sandwich. In private."

As Jirou left, Melissa Shield, having watched the whole exchange, thoughtfully stroked her chin as she examined her Jimmy John's order.

At the very top of I-Island, David and Samuel examined the contents of their technological vault.

"I still think we should crack out the Sentinel Droids."

"Samuel, you literally sold me out to not one, but two villain groups. Excuse me if I don't trust you when you want access to government-condoned murder-bots."

A loud crash made them flinch. Through a gaping hole in the wall, Melissa strode in with her full mech-suit, guns primed and green flamethrower sizzling.

"Alright, you villains, hand over my dad and no one gets- oh hi dad."

"Sweetie, is that Inko tech?"

"You really think I'm using your stuff after all this?"

David Shield sighed. "Alright, that's fair."

Even in an age of Quirks, their delivery is still freaky fast.
