"Chief," an officer saluted to the esteemed Chief of Police as she entered the room. She nodded and the officer opened the door leading to the interrogation room.

A frown formed on Lins's face as she saw a young woman who seemed no older than 20 and was currently sitting in the chair inside the interrogation room. Few of the woman's hair had been braided and all were put in a high ponytail. She's wearing a black coat, and underneath is a red crop tank paired with red sweatpants. But the one who caught her attention was the scar that looked like had been gotten from lightning going from under her right jaw and disappearing down her clothes. Currently, the young woman has her back leaned on the chair, head tilted upward, eyes closed and mouth hung open.

But the girl being asleep while she was in the police station was not what had gotten her brows furrowed. It's the feeling she felt the moment her eyes landed on the girl that she couldn't explain.

She feels like she already knows the young woman even though it's her first time meeting her.

She shook her head and chose to shrug it off. She cleared her throat to make her presence known to the young woman but the latter didn't badge. Lin scowled and she used her bending to shake the young woman's chair, making the latter jolted awake.

The young woman looked around, "What?" then the young woman finally sensed her. The girl turned her head and their eyes met. Green to green.

She looked down at the soft emerald eyes who's blinking up to her.

Lin's eyes blinked and she was in the present again, and she saw the young woman staring at her.

"Are you the one who will interrogate me?" the young woman asked, tilting her head to the side.

Lin's face went back to its hardened look, back to being Chief, "Yes."

The young woman nodded and her eyes went down where her badge was, "And I assume you're the one in charge here."

"That's correct."

Then the young woman grinned, "Then you must be Lin Beifong, daughter of Toph Beifong, sister to Suyin Beifong and ex-girlfriend of Master Tenzin!"

Lin's eye twitched, and she slammed a hand on the metal table "Enough of that!" and she leaned forward, "And don't talk to me so casually as if we're old friends."

The young woman just shrugged and leaned her back on the chair comfortably.

The Chief of the police raised her other hand that was not on the table and looked at the clipboard, "According here you're from Fire Nation."

"Correct."

"And it appears that you've just got here at the city not so long ago as you don't have any records of who you are."

"Yup."

Lin looked down at her, "What's your name?"

The young woman's emerald eyes stared back at her own, "Yuze."

"What are you going to name her?"

"As she's been born on a stormy day and it seems like she likes rain, so Yuze, her name is Yuze."

"Yuze, what a beautiful name. Welcome to the world, Yuze Beifong."

Lin shook her head as she was brought back to the present by the other memory from the past.

'Focus, Lin, focus!' Lin berated herself. She took a deep breath to calm herself.

When she looked at the young woman, coincidentally named Yuze, 'Just like her,' Lin thought, the young woman was staring at her intently.

"Are you okay? You seemed distracted which is I know, uncharacteristic of yours even though we barely knew each other," Yuze said with concern evident in her eyes.

Lin let out a sigh as she pinched the bridge of her nose, "Yes. I'm just tired, I guess," then she glared at her, "And didn't I tell you that don't talk to me casually as we're not close."

Yuze waved her cuffed hands dismissively, "Yeah, yeah."

Lin growled, "Let's get back to the business. When did you get here in the City?"

"A three or two hours ago," Yuze said while looking up.

"And you already got yourself in trouble?" Lin raised an eyebrow.

"It's not my fault if I defend myself from them," Yuze scoffed, "And their leader is a jerk. He tried to harass me. And besides I didn't do anything to destroy properties like those triad members, I didn't even bend."

"That's true."

"Then can I go now, if I don't have any charge—"

"And that's why you're here," Lin said propping her elbows on the desk and laying her chin upon her now interlocked hand.

Yuze frowned, "I don't believe I followed you."

"A witness said that you chi-blocked the leader and not even once you bend, only using your batons through the whole fight," Lin said.

"And what of it?"

The Chief of Police leaned forward as her eyes narrowed, "They believe that you are an Equalist."

Yuze groaned, "There's that word again. This is the second time that I've been accused of being a part of whatever group is that."

Lin's eyebrows furrowed, "You didn't know what's an Equalist?"

"Of course not! This is my first time in a very long time in the City, how would I know that? And besides I was so busy that I barely knew the current affairs in the world," Yuze huffed.

The Chief of Police smirked, "That's what I said to them, but they insisted that you are a part of that group," then she leaned her back in the chair and crossed her arms, "Well I can't blame them, in this time where we don't know who's who that is a part of the group, we need to be cautious."

Yuze became silent for a moment before she leaned forward, "Well, what really is this Equalist thing?"

Lin huffed, "They are a group of non-benders who are a pain in the ass."

Yuze gaped, "Wait, if they thought I'm an Equalist, then are they assuming that I'm a non-bender?"

Lin raised an eyebrow, "Aren't you?"

Yuze gasped, "The audacity! How could—"

The young woman was stopped mid-sentence when a panel from the metal wall opened, and an officer spoke, "Chief, Councilman Tenzin is here."

Lin frowned, "Again? He's just been here yesterday when he bailed out the Avatar."

"Wait, Korra is here?" Yuze whispered, confusion and shock evident on her face.

Lin ignored what the young woman said though she was curious how the woman knew the new avatar's name when the girl had not yet introduced herself to the world 'till tomorrow when the press conference will happen.

The Chief of Police stood up and ordered, "Let him in."

The metal door opened and the master airbender entered the room, "Lin, you're beauti—"

"Why are you here again?" Lin said, cutting the Councilman in his sentence.

"I'm here to bail out someone..." Tenzin sighed, "For the second time."

Lin raised an eyebrow, and pointed her thumb at her back, "Her?"

"Yes. So if you may—"

"I'm sorry, Tenzin, but she still can't get out of here," the Chief of Police said.

Tenzin furrowed, "Why?"

Lin crossed her arms, "She can't get out of her until she was proven that she's not a part of Equalist."

Tenzin's eyebrows raised, "What? How did you assume that she's an Equalist when it's been a while since she last visited this city, and how will she be a part of an organization consisting of non-benders when she is a bender herself."

Lin furrowed, confused, "Bender? No, she's not—"

"Hey, Tenzin, it's been a while!" Yuze said as she walked towards the master airbender and hugged him.

Lin looked at her with a surprise on her face, "How did you—" she looked back and saw the cuffs were melted, "Wait... You're a firebender?"

Yuze nodded as she said, "Yup!"

"What are you doing here, Yuze? Did you follow Korra here?" Tenzin asked the firebender.

Yuze shook her head, "No. I'm here for personal matters. And why Korra is here? I just saw her two days ago."

Tenzin was about to answer when Lin butted in, "Wait. I'm confused how did you know each other, and how did you know Korra?"

Yuze looked at Tenzin, "You didn't tell anybody?"

Tenzin rolled his eyes, "What is it this time?"

"That you're my Father."

Tenzin's eyes widened and Lin's head turned so fast.

"What?!"

"Yuze!"

Yuze laughed but stopped when she felt a pain in her ribs, though it had been healed by a healer it still hurt and was sore, "Spirits, your expressions gave me life!"

Tenzin's groaned as he facepalmed while Lin scowled. When Yuze saw the Chief's face she raised her hands, "I'm just kidding!"

The master airbender shook his head and decided to introduce Yuze to the Chief of Police.

"Lin, this is Yuze, former captain of the guard of the Fire Nation's royal family, and Korra's firebending master."

Yuze bowed down, "It's a pleasure to meet you, even in these circumstances, Ms. Beifong."
