Read and relax
Whitebeard sat out on deck, enjoying a good day. They had docked a bit ago, and were just enjoying being docked. It was a decent sized island too. As the clock was almost noon, Thatch blinked as he looked at the dock, before his jaw almost dropped. "Oh my God! That is Miss Jackson!" Whitebeard frowned. "Miss who?" Thatch took a breath. "A really, and I mean really, dangerous woman! Never seen her before, just heard about her, and some bad pictures. But that is definitely her. See that flawless woman with the red dress and heels? Long black hair?" Whitebeard looked at the dock and saw the woman, who did look flawless, but not dangerous. "Are you sure she is dangerous?" Thatch nodded. "Yes! She has taken on marine captains! Or maybe. She is seen with them, then they either disappear or found dead soon after. She is called a siren, as she lures people." Well, she was really gorgeous.
They then watched the woman walk a bit, on her way into a building, when she halted and looked at them, which was weird. He didn't know who this was, and Thatch didn't either. He then heard a chuckle and turned to see Sabo had come outside, and waved to the woman, who then held up 2 fingers, before she pointed to where she was headed in. It had Sabo nod and hold a thumb up. Then she went into the building, and Thatch looked at Sabo shocked. "You know her! What was that!" Sabo hummed. "She wants me in that building in less than two minutes. And yes, I know her well. She and Ace work a lot together." Made sense.
Thatch blinked. "So, she is an assassin?" Sabo hummed. "Wouldn't classify her as that, not really sure what to classify her as. But I need to go, before she gets mad." Thatch blinked. "Should you go alone? I mean, she is dangerous." Sabo lifted an eyebrow. "You think she would ever dare to hurt me?" Thatch stammered a bit. "I- I guess you're right. Ace would be mad at that." Sabo nodded, before he looked behind himself. "And, Marco can join me." Marco, who now came out of a door, frowned. "Join you with what, yoi?" Marco was then informed by Thatch, that there was a dangerous woman, who knew Sabo and Ace, and she wanted Sabo to come to her.
Marco nodded. "Sure, yoi." The two then headed off. And just before they walked into the building, Sabo said something, which had Marco look a bit shocked, before he smiled, and the two headed inside. He still wondered a bit who this was, but had a feeling Sabo had control. He noticed others also heading into the building, probably a small tavern or bar maybe? He did notice Jozu, who hadn't been on the boat for a while, heading inside also. He was sure he would be fine. Luffy then came outside a bit later, and when he asked where Sabo was and he mentioned Ann, he was gone like a bullet to the building, heading inside. Probably to join Sabo and this Ann.
An hour later, Jozu walked out of the building, before Jozu came onto the ship, and had a curious look as he looked at them. "I think Marco just got a love interest." That had his attention at least. "What do you mean?" Jozu hummed and pointed to the building they had headed into. "That building, there was this really gorgeous woman, they danced and kissed, and just seemed close." That had him blink, and Thatch looked so utterly shocked as he stammered out "W-w-what! Miss Jackson and Marco! No! There must be a play here! Oh God! What if she has chosen him as the next victim!" That didn't sound good. But, they couldn't just barge in.
An hour later, Marco, Luffy, Sabo, and this Ann came out, before the group came onto the boat, and Whitebeard looked at the two kids. "Who is your friend?" Luffy smiled and motioned to Ann. "This is Ann! She is basically my sister!" Sister? It had Thatch look shocked as well. "Sister?" Luffy nodded. "She isn't though. Just almost. She just cares for me at times, when Ace is busy." That made sense if she worked with Ace. Ann then looked at the two brothers. "I need to leave, okay? Be safe." Sabo nodded. "We are here." Ann nodded. "I know, they are good people. Bye." She said, before she moved and gave a kiss on Luffy's head, and a pat on Sabo's back, before she went off the boat and headed away.
As she was gone, Thatch made a small motion with his hand. "Am I the only one who wants to send Marco to Bay?" That had Marco frowning. "Why?" Thatch blinked. "You kissed her! What if you are her next target for some reason! She is dangerous, Marco!" Marco gave a curious look to Thatch. "I am not allowed to kiss people, yoi?" Thatch blinked. "Why her! What if she is just using you!" Sabo hummed. "No, she's not." Thatch blinked again. "How can you know!" Sabo lifted an eyebrow. "Cuz he is still here. If he was a target, he would be injured or gone by now." Didn't sound good, but it was weird. Sabo then hummed. "Or be gone soon. Who knows. She does use lipstick with poison at times." Thatch blinked, before he looked at Marco. "Bay, now." Marco shook his head. "No, I will not go to Bay, yoi. Make her do tests without a cause." Whitebeard agreed with Thatch now, what if.
Thatch moved his hands erratically. "What if you die tonight!" Marco gave a look to Sabo. "Why did you say that, yoi?" Sabo chuckled. "Wanted to. But yeah, you're not going to die. She likes you." Marco chuckled and shook his head, but didn't speak. Thatch moved his hands to his hair. "No! You need to go to Bay! You might die!" Marco gave a breath. "Thatch, I am still a phoenix. Poison doesn't work that well on me, yoi." Thatch gave a look. "But it does work!"
Marco sighed, and Sabo hummed. "What if, we head to Bay, just talk to her, and then everything is fine?" Marco looked to be on his way to decline, when Sabo gave a look, which made Marco nod. "Okay." The two then headed away, and when Thatch tried to follow, Marco gave a stern look, making him stay behind as the two left. After a bit, they came back, with Bay, who clicked her tongue. "I believe Marco is fine. So please, don't send people who don't need it to me. Deal?" She said, looking at Thatch, who held a hand up. "Sorry for being worried." Bay rolled her eyes, before she left.
When she was gone, Thatch looked at the first commander. "So, you're fine?" Marco nodded. "I am, yoi. Don't be so worried." Thatch blinked. "I am allowed to be worried when you are around mur- dangerous people!" Thatch probably didn't want to call this woman a murder in front of Luffy, in case he was wrong. Luffy blinked. "But, she's not dangerous to us." Sabo nodded. "She isn't. Unless you piss her off. Then she is really dangerous." She probably was, she was connected to Ace, who was dangerous, really dangerous. And, she seemed to care a lot for the two kids. Not that he would hurt the two kids, he really liked them. They were family.
Thatch looked at Sabo. "How did you get so… close with her? Almost sister!" Sabo hummed. "She and Ace just hit it off, and then she started to watch us now and then, before she just became… like family." Thatch nodded. "Cool cool. Why are your closest people so dangerous?" Sabo chuckled. "I blame Luffy. I think he has a magnet that just makes people like him, and that happens to be people like Ann." That was kinda true. It was something about Luffy. Even he really liked that kid.
Sabo then chuckled. "Imagine if someone actually wronged Luffy. Imagine all the people who would line up to kill or harm that person." That was a terrifying thought. Luffy had many people behind him, many dangerous and strong people. But the one people should be most scared off, was definitely Ace. He did wonder how Ace would react if someone actively went out to harm Luffy or Sabo on purpose. It would be their death, of course, but what kind of death? Probably a prolonged death. The captain hoped he would never anger Ace, but he could only hope and do his best to not do that.
The day then went on, then they headed away, and after some days, he got from Jozu that they were heading towards a phenomenon where the Devil Fruit didn't work. It wasn't that it was a more dangerous place, just so he knew about it, and it was fine. He wanted to be adventurous, and to hopefully teach Luffy and Sabo the most he could. Nothing happened, as not that many ventured here, as the Devil Fruit didn't work, so no fight still, which Luffy found boring. They were here for almost a week.
After the week, Whitebeard felt his powers coming back, which felt good. And he was glad this had gone fine, being without their powers. Not that he had expected anything bad to happen. They then continued into more known waters, and as they had had their powers back for about three hours, Dust appeared, before he cawed and Ace appeared, who looked at his brothers and clapped his hands. "Do you know how worried I have been!" Sabo sighed. "We're fine, Ace." Ace shook his head. "No, I don't care if it went fine! You should have told me you were going there! So I could have joined or sent someone with you!" Sabo gave a breath. "Ace, we can care for ourselves. We don't always need you to do it." Ace took a breath. "I know, you are adults, but I need to know you are okay. What if something happened! And you would have gotten injured badly or died!"
Luffy smiled. "They would never have let that happen! They keep us safe." Ace sighed. "Yes, I know. They are good people. But I didn't know how you were!" Sabo shrugged. "You could have called." Ace shook his head. "No, I couldn't have, because you would have lied to me!" Sabo hummed. "Most likely yes." Ace moved a hand to his face. "Next time you go to a place where the Devil Fruits don't work, you tell me before you pass the line, so I can either join, or I can send someone to join you in my place." Sabo shook his head and crossed his arms. "No, we will not. How can we learn if you are always there! We need to get things ourselves, that means without you."
Ace gave a look and on his way to talk when Sabo did. "Ace, I know you're worried, but don't be. If anything should happen, they are here for us." Ace sighed. "I know I know. But, just for the first few times, so I know you are okay?" Sabo hummed. "We'll think about it. But you need to stop being so worried all the time!" Ace sighed. "I know, I know. But see it from my point of view." Sabo nodded. "I am trying, but still. Calm down!" Ace looked at Sabo. "I am worried! I am allowed to be worried!" Sabo gave a breath. "Yes, Ace. You are, but try to not be! We are safe here. They are protecting us." Ace sighed. "Fine! Fine, I will try. But still, the next few times, I am here, or someone I know is here." Sabo sighed, but nodded. "Fine, Ace. Do what you must." Ace nodded, and seemed happy with that, before he left a bit later, being sure they wouldn't just turn around.
Then the next day, it happened. They met some marines. It wasn't many, it wasn't someone high up, but it was marines, and of course, a battle started. A few did get away, which was fine. He didn't want the first battle Luffy and Sabo joined to be a bloodshed. They did help to fight, or at least tried to, Luffy running mostly around and just seeming to… have fun. Luffy always managed to look like he was having fun. But when he thought about it, it wasn't that weird. Their brother was still Ace, and they had probably seen him work, or read about his work, and that was gruesome. He knew Ace tried to shield them, especially Luffy, from his work, which he got. Luffy seemed so… innocent.
And the day went by fine, when they docked the next one, he noticed a half familiar shape coming onto the docks and towards his ship. It was Jackson Ann, or Miss Jackson as she was called. He had only seen her one time, but this was a person he would forever remember because of her beauty.
When she came onto the boat, Ann gave a smile to them, before she looked at Marco, "Hello, Sweetie." Marco chuckled. "Hi, Ann. You okay, yoi?" Ann nodded. "I am. Been around here and there. Where is Luffy and Sabo?" As she had spoken, Luffy had his arms around Ann, who looked at the kid. "Hi, Lu. Are you okay? I heard you got in a fight?" Luffy nodded. "Yes! But it went fine." Ann nodded. "I can see that. Which is good. You had Ace worried." Luffy nodded. "I know. Or, I understood that, but you can tell him it went fine!" Ann nodded. "And I will, I am seeing him later. And you're sure you're fine?" Luffy nodded. "Yes!"
Ann chuckled, and gave a smile to Luffy. "Do you know what that fight meant? Seeing as they were marines?" Luffy tilted his head. "No, what does it mean?" Ann chuckled again. "Your bounty, is on the way." Luffy blinked, before he gasped. "Are you sure!?" Ann nodded. "Yes, I just spoke to Ace, who spoke to Garp. It is coming." Luffy gave an excited sound, and he had to smile himself. He got Luffy was happy, he had waited so long for this, and finally, it would soon be here.
Ann then stayed a bit, before she left, and as she was gone, Thatch moved his hands to his head as he looked at Marco. "Why did it have to be her?! Why Miss Jackson!" Marco hummed. "You can call her Ann, you know, yoi." Thatch blinked. "No! She is dangerous!" Marco shrugged. "Not to me, she isn't." That seemed to be true. He looked at Marco. "Do you like her?" Marco nodded. "Yes, I do. I actually do, yoi." That was rare. In all the time Marco had been here, which was long, he had never had a partner or been interested in anyone, so this was new. But, he was glad he had found someone. Even though that seemed to be this Miss Jackson, a very dangerous woman. He smiled at his son. "You have my blessing, son." Marco gave a smile, and Thatch moved his hands. "You're insane! She has enchanted you!" Marco sighed. "No, or yes, but no. She isn't using me, yoi." Thatch didn't look to believe that. "How can you be sure of that?!" Marco hummed. "I just do." He did believe Marco. He wasn't easily charmed, or 'enchanted' as Thatch called it.
He heard a hum to his left and turned to see Sabo. "And I can vouch for her. She actually likes the man. Which is rare for her as well. She never has before." Sabo said with a smile to Marco, who smiled with it as well. This was amazing, Marco had found someone. He was happy for Marco, and for Ann. But of course Marco would find someone who wasn't just someone. He had to find someone special. And that was this Ann. But either way, he was happy for his son, that he had found someone. He would never have guessed that.
Marco hummed. "Now, can we move on from the topic of me having a girlfriend, yoi?" Thatch moved a hand to his head. "Oh my God! Girlfriend! Is it that serious?!" Marco lifted an eyebrow. "I still don't see the issue with this, yoi. What if it is?" Thatch looked at Pops. "Pops! Do something!" Pops gave a somewhat amused look. "What do you want me to do?" Thatch shook his head. "I don't know! Make them break up!" Pops shook his head. "No, I will not. Marco can care for himself, son." Thatch gave a groan, before he looked at Marco. "Don't come crying to me when this was all a play for something." Marco hummed. "It is not, and I won't, yoi." He wasn't that worried. If Marco had been a target, he would have been taken already. Of course, she could be after information as well, but had a feeling she knew all she wanted, she seemed so… confident, even on his ship. It was like having Ace. But then again, she worked a lot with Ace, which made a lot of sense.
