Read and relax
Whitebeard sat in the meeting room with his commanders, in the middle of their usual meeting. But as they were talking, the door opened, which was weird as no one had knocked and knew they didn't like to be bothered during meetings. But just as he was about to speak up, he blinked, as it was Ace who came inside, and the assassin had a frown as he sat down with some papers he put down. And as the door closed automatically, Ace spoke. "We have an issue." Whitebeard nodded, sure something had to be up, and he hoped he hadn't done anything wrong. "What is it?" Ace sighed. "Someone in your crew, has called for an assassin. How do I know? I overheard a few conversations. The issue; the one this person has called for, is most likely not a good one. I need you to find out who it is, before a meeting is held. If it gets to a meeting, he might be robbed, injured, or outright killed. All for some easy money."
Whitebeard blinked, This was really serious "And you don't know who? Don't you control the assassins?" Ace sighed. "Only so many, there are many I don't control. And, I only control the nice ones. And no, I didn't get that piece of information on who it is. I got what I know from someone who knows that a person has been called for." Ace then looked at him. "Find out who it is, what they need, and call for me. I will handle it, whatever it might be." That was kind of Ace. The captain nodded. "I will find out as fast as I can, then call you." Ace nodded. "Good good. I will be waiting." Then Ace just left, taking the papers with him, and he really hoped he could manage to do this before there was a meeting. He didn't want any of his children to be injured or killed, all for some easy money.
They then finished the meeting, and when dinner was and everyone was present, Whitebeard took a breath and stood up. "Everyone!" Everyone stopped talking, looking at him. "Some news has reached me; someone here has called for an assassin. I need to know who. No one is in trouble, but I don't want this person to do this alone." He hoped that would be enough to make the person come forward. If he had heard nothing by tomorrow, he would try again with a more serious approach. But he hoped that wouldn't happen.
Then dinner passed by, and as he was relaxing out in his chair as evening came, Jason approached him. "Umm… Pops?" He nodded. "Yes, son?" Jason sighed. "About the… person who called for an assassin…" Whitebeard nodded. "Was it you?" Jason shook his head. "No, but I know who; Jensen." Whitebeard frowned. "Are you sure?" Jason nodded. "Yes. I am." Whitebeard nodded. "Can you go get him for me?" Jason nodded, and left. After about 10 minutes, him being forced to his room by Bay, even though he tried to stay outside, there was a knock at his door, and he gave a come in, and Jason and Jensen came inside. Jensen looked at him. "You… wanted to see me?" Whitebeard nodded. "Yes, I did. It has come to my attention that you called for someone." Jensen blinked, before he looked at Jason. "You told him! I told you that in trust!" Jason shook his head . "I am worried! Okay! This can be dangerous!" Jensen looked mad, so Whitebeard moved his hand a bit. "I am not going to ask you to stop." Jensen blinked and looked at him. "What? What will you do? Why call for me?" Whitebeard had a feeling Jensen thought he would make him stop.
Whitebeard looked at his son. "Obviously something is wrong, and all I want to do is help my children. I heard you called upon a random one?" Jensen nodded slowly. "I don't know any assassins or inforants, or such." Whitebeard nodded. "I know. But we do, or half do. We can call Ace of Spades. Just tell me what the issue is, and I will get him on the case." Jensen blinked. "You would… do that for me?" Whitebeard nodded. "I will do anything for my children." Jensen gave a relieved breath. "Okay. I just heard from my brother, my… blood brother, that my niece is gone. I love that girl, I need her to be found." Whitebeard nodded. "And with Ace of Spades on the case, she will be, I promise." Jensen breathed out relieved again. The captain then asked a few more questions, like which island, when he got the news she was gone, and such.
When he had all that, he let the two go, before he called for Ace, telling what he knew, which had Ace nodding and saying he would check it out. That was good. It was a few hours later, him having headed back out, that Dust appeared, and Ace appeared quickly after, and he looked calm, which he hoped was good. Ace looked at him, and not that many were out now, it was late. "It is fixed." Whitebeard nodded. "Who took her?" Ace hummed. "No one. She was never lost." That made him frown. "What? But Jensen said-" Ace shook his head. "His brother lied. He wanted me to show up, he knew you've had contact with me, get me to do silly work for him. It is fixed, a bit scared as I threatened him, but everything is fine." That was something. Whitebeard nodded. "Thank you, for doing this." Ace hummed. "I only did it since I didn't want my brothers to get in the crossfire, or for them to be sad if someone got injured or killed." Whitebeard nodded, that made sense. But he was glad this all had gone by fine. No one got hurt or killed.
Ace then hummed. "Anyway, I need to leave. I will visit again in a week or two." Whitebeard nodded. "That is fine. We'll see you then." Ace nodded, then he was gone in black smoke. This was good, things were fine again. The rest of the day went by fine, and 3 days later, Shanks was heading towards them early morning, not seeming battle ready. And after a bit,Shanks boarded the boat, and looked at him. "Is, by any chance, Luffy and Sabo up?" Whitebeard shook his head. "No, not yet. Why?" Shanks shook his head. "No reason at all, just want to see them." Well, he could get that. Shanks really liked the two kids. But still, Shanks looked a bit… stressed and scared, and he didn't know why. They then relaxed, but Shanks didn't seem to be able to, and after half an hour, Ace appeared, and looked at Shanks, who froze. "You look stressed, Shanks." Said Ace calmly. Shanks still did, even more now that Ace was here. What was going on?
Shanks gave a breath. "Fuck. I hoped I had more time!" Ace shook his head. "Well, you don't. What in the world were you thinking?" Shanks gave a sound. "I… didn't?" Ace nodded. "Obviously. Did you really think I wouldn't find out?" Shanks sighed. "I hoped I could redeem my life somehow, before you found out." Ace hummed. "Just because I am curious, how would you manage to redeem your life?" Shanks sighed. "Somehow make Luffy or Sabo save me, or something." Ace moved a hand to his nose and pinched it. "So, not only was what you did enough, you would really think manipulating Luffy and Sabo wouldn't make me more mad?"
Shanks was on his way to talk, when he stopped and nodded, before he tried again. "That never crossed my mind. Damn. I am screwed." Ace nodded. "Yes, you are." Whitebeard blinked. "What did you do?" He asked, looking at Shanks, who let out a breath. "I may have… Well, I told someone about Luffy and Sabo… who they were." Whitebeard blinked. "Why?" Shanks moved a hand. "I was drunk! Okay!" Ace gave a glare. "I couldn't care less if you were tortured! You don't say things like that! Why did I ever trust you?" Shanks moved his hand again. "I am sorry! But it is fixed now!" Ace gave another glare. "Not with your help! What if that guy wasn't a moron! What if I never knew before it was too late?! What then!" Shanks took a breath. "But that didn't happen, Ace. It went fine."
Ace pinched his nose. "Shanks, I will kill you." Shanks put his hands together. "Please don't? It was an honest mistake!" Ace shook his head and gave a glare. "It was not! You bragged about knowing us!" Shanks blinked. "I did?" Ace nodded. "Yes! So, why should I not kill you?" Shanks seemed to try and come up with something, when it seemed like he did. "Benn! Ask him! He knows why you can't kill me!" Ace moved a hand to his face. "Shanks-" Shanks shook his head. "No! Hear me- him- out!" Ace sighed. "Fine! I will! And if this is just something to get to Luffy or Sabo, you will suffer." Shanks nodded. "I know." Ace then left, and Shanks let out a breath. "For heaven's sake, I hope Benn can save me." Whitebeard blinked. "You don't know if he can? Was that a lie?" Shanks shook his head. "No no, he is so good with Ace. If anyone can save me, it is Benn."
Time then went on, Shanks being very tense, and after half an hour, Ace came back and Ace gave a glare to Shanks and moved his hand and pointed at him, making Shanks lift his hands in surrender as Ace spoke. "Okay! I am still mad! But for your sake, Benn had good reasoning. I won't kill you, this time. But believe me, this is strike two." Shanks nodded. "Y-yeah, sure! Thank you, Ace." Ace gave a last glare, before he was gone in black smoke, and Shanks let out a relieved breath as he moved a hand to his chest. "Thank God." Whitebeard looked at Shanks. "You're playing with fate here, you do know that?" Shanks nodded. "Yes, I do. But for now, I am alive." How Shanks dared to do this, to play with Ace like this, was beyond him. But it was still clear Shanks was very scared of Ace.
Thatch looked at Shanks. "What was strike one?" Shanks sighed. "I kinda put Luffy's arm on fire and burned him really badly." They all blinked, Izou speaking. "How?" Shanks shook his head. "I tried to do this amazing magic trick, and I kinda really failed." That made him blink. Shanks wasn't the best person with tricks, so the fact he had tried was odd. Shanks then stayed for a day, before he left, and they headed on. Ace visited once two weeks later, and said he would come after two more weeks again to visit, and that sounded good.
Then time went on, and when it was 3 days until Ace would show, there was a cloud of black smoke, which was a bit surprising as they weren't expecting Ace today. He would come some days later. But as the smoke disappeared, he had to blink as it was Trevor, who stood there in just his boxers and a shirt, and a toothbrush in his hand. As he was fully visible, Trevor moved and threw his toothbrush down. "God damnit, Ace! I am busy!" He almost yelled as he looked at Dust on his shoulder. Dust just shrugged, before he flew to the railing , looking at Trevor, who sighed, before the silver-haired assassin looked at him. "What are you doing this time? What does Ace disapprove of now?" Whitebeard blinked. "I don't know. I have no clue. We are expecting him in 3 days." This was bizarre.
Trevor nodded. "Nice, so you have no clue, I have no clue, and I am almost naked. Nice." Trevor then looked at Dust again. "Okay, I need a note here. Why the fuck am I here?" Dust cawed, before he shrugged, and was gone in smoke. Trevor sighed and shook his head. "I hate how overprotecting Ace is at times." Trevor then looked at him. "You really have no clue? Where are you? What island are you heading to? Just, does anything stand out?" Whitebeard tried to think, but came up blank and shook his head. "No. We are heading towards Udo." They weren't originally heading there, but they decided to yesterday, wanting to see the island and how the inhabitants were. Trevor nodded. "Nothing special. I have no clue what is wrong either. Let us just hope Dust comes with a note." He nodded and would hope for the same. Trevor hummed. "Also, can I borrow some clothes? I have none apparently." Whitebeard nodded and got some spare ones. When he got those, Trevor hummed. "At least, I wasn't naked this time." Whitebeard blinked. "Naked?" Trevor nodded. "He has done this before. Last time, I was just out of the shower and only had a towel." That made them all blink. He felt bad for Trevor. But he was curious about why he was here, and hoped he would get to know and that it wasn't anything bad.
A bit later, Sabo and Luffy came out, Luffy hugging Trevor and Sabo frowned. "Trevor? Why are you here?" Trevor shook his head. "I have no clue. I was legit just brushing my teeth, and now, I am here." Sabo nodded. "Cool. Wonder what is wrong this time." Trevor nodded. "Me as well." Then the day went on, and when it was noon, Dust appeared, and had a note with him, which Trevor took and read, before he hummed. "Ah. I see." Whitebeard waited for the reason he was here, but as he got none, he frowned a bit. "What does it say? Why are you here?" Trevor nodded a bit. "Ace won't make it in 3 days, so he will come in a week or two. And you," Trevor said as he pointed at Vista. "Are the issue." Vista blinked. "Me? Why me? Have I done anything wrong?" Yes, why was it Vista?
Trevor blinked. "Wait, you… you don't know?" They all shook their heads, Vista speaking. "Know what?" Trevor gave a small sound. "Your sister. I forgot she would most likely be there." Whitebeard still had no idea what this was about. Vista blinked. "Kira? Has… has she done anything? She is a kind and careful person." Trevor blinked, before he burst out laughing. "Holy crap! No!" Trevor then looked at Dust. "Are you hearing this!" Dust nodded and cawed, and Trevor laughed still. "Ace is probably laughing himself. But your sister, Kira, she is… Well, how to break this. She is one of us." Vista blinked. "What!" He agreed with that. Trevor nodded. "Yes. She is… you know what? You ask her. She should tell you this." Vista blinked. "Can't you?" Trevor hummed. "I can, but I won't. She should be the one to tell this." Vista blinked, but nodded. They would get to the island tomorrow.
Vista did try and ask Trevor more times, but he always said he should speak to his sister. And when they docked and Kira came onto the boat to say hi, Vista looked at Kira. "Are you an assassin!" Kira blinked. "I- what? What makes you think that?" Vista motioned to Trevor, who waved his hand, and Kira facepalmed. "Of course it is you! Why the fuck are you here?!" Trevor hummed. "Me? Protecting Ace's brothers from you. He was a bit worried." Kira blinked. "Are they here?" Trevor nodded and motioned to Sabo, who was out, and he waved. Luffy was currently somewhere inside. Kira blinked. "Holy crap. Why are they here?" Trevor hummed. "They are now a part of The Whitebeards." Kira blinked, "Oh, yeah, think I read that somewhere. But honestly, does Ace really think I would hurt his brothers? They are not as evil as him." Trevor chuckled. "Ace isn't that ev-" Kira pointed at Trevor. "No! He pushed me down from a roof!" Trevor nodded. "I know, and you deserved it." Vista moved his hands. "Woah woah! What! He pushed you down a roof! What did you do to Ace?!" Kira crossed her arms. "I did nothing!" Trevor nodded. "Exactly. You did nothing. You should have listened to him and left." Kira rolled her eyes.
Vista moved his hand a bit. "Do you have a name?" Trevor chuckled. "Yes Kira, what is your name?" Kira sighed. "Well, here goes. I am… The She Devil." Vista blinked. "What! You are?! How long!" Kira hummed. "About 15 years." Vista blinked. "What! But your business!" Kira hissed. "Yeah, I lied about that. My business is being an informant." Vista moved a hand up. "I can't believe this! Why did you lie!" Kira gave a look. "Because I knew you would overreact. I didn't want to worry you." Vista blinked. "If I am doing anything, it isn't overreacting! You are around maniacs!" Kira huffed and crossed her arms. "No! Those I go after are weaklings! Those who have hurt me, are people like Trevor!" Vista blinked. "W-what?" Kira glared at Trevor. "Who was it that pushed me down a flight of stairs?" Trevor chuckled. "At least it wasn't down a roof." Kira let out a breath. "Still. It hurt. Also, does Ace really, like really, think I would go after his brothers?" Trevor hummed. "I don't know. But he wanted to be sure. I think half it was to mess with me as well. He sent me here basically naked, because I had just woken up." Kira gave a snort. "Serves you right."
Vista moved his hand. "Can we go back to the fact you are The She Devil!" Kira shrugged. "I don't see an issue." Kira hummed. "This also works in my favor. Every time I hear you are close, I need to hurry here to keep the lie up, now, it is out. I can work more. I have missed so many gatherings since I needed to keep the lie." Vista blinked. "No! You will not! What if you get hurt!" Kira hummed. "I won't." Trevor nodded. "Just saying, she has stabbed Ace, that is like a huge thing. Your captain couldn't even touch him, and she has stabbed him. Believe me, she is strong." Kira nodded. "I am very proud of that actually." Vista blinked. "What? How did you manage that?" Kira hummed. "Because I am amazing." Vista blinked, and Trevor nodded. "I agree, she is pretty amazing." Kira smiled. "Thank you." Trevor nodded. "Also, I don't want you to quit. We kinda need you around." Kira hummed. "I know. I am not quitting." Vista shook his head. "No! You are!"
Trevor hummed. "Vista, you can't boss her around. She is her own person, and she could easily win against you in a battle. Again, she has stabbed Ace." That was a feat, so she had to be stronger than what they knew. Trevor then looked at Kira. "Also, how did you not know Luffy and Sabo were here? It was even in the news, they got posters." Kira hummed. "I don't really read too much about The Whitebeards. I get the real news from Vista. No need to figure out what is real or fake in the news." Trevor nodded. "That makes sense." This was a lot to take in.
Kira then hummed and looked at Trevor. "Also, I need to talk to Ace. He can't really believe, like really, believe that I would hurt Sabo or Luffy because of him. I would never do that. And, I know he will give me hell for this. But I like him. He is pretty awesome. I don't want to fight him again, once was enough for me." Trevor nodded. "He was supposed to come in 2 days, but something came up and he won't show for a week or two." Kira nodded. "That's fine. Also, can I hitch a ride? If you're heading North. I am going to a gathering there in 3 weeks, which spares me from getting there alone, at least the first half." Trevor nodded. "I don't choose, you still need to ask the captain. But seeing how your brother reacted, I think you might not be allowed." Kira hummed. "He needs to pick his poison then. Either, they help me go to this gathering, or I go all alone. I don't care which it is. But I am going." Vista blinked. "You are not!" Kira rolled her eyes. "Okay, fine. You won't take me, I will handle it all myself." Vista blinked. "No! You will not!" Kira nodded. "I will. I don't care what you want. My life." Well, it was. But still, that could be dangerous.
Vista took a breath. "Okay! We can take you! But you will be careful!" Kira nodded. "I will, I always am. Thanks." Vista didn't seem too happy, but there wasn't much of a choice here. Trevor then hummed. "Does this mean I need to leave? Since you won't hurt them. Or is Ace still paranoid?" Sabo hummed. "Paranoid. He is too overprotective. And hey, I like you." Trevor smiled. "I know. And, a break for me! Yes!" Sabo chuckled. "How long will you stay?" Trevor shrugged. "No clue. Depends on Ace I guess. And Dust isn't here now." Sabo nodded. "Cool. I could call him, but I won't. I want you here for a bit." Trevor chuckled. "You're so nice to me." Sabo nodded. "And you are to me." Trevor just chuckled.
Then time went on, Kira joining them, until she needed to hitch a ride, as they couldn't take her the entire way, seeing as that would cause suspicion, which made sense. Vista wasn't happy, but he would probably adjust after a bit. The fact the two had a small duel, and Kira won easily, helped. She was much stronger than what they believed. Then, when a bit over a week had passed, Ace appeared, looking at Sabo, who was out. Luffy was now getting some food. "Are you okay?" Sabo nodded. "Yeah, it is still so cool here." Ace chucked. "Good." He was glad Sabo liked it here.
Kira then hummed. "Hi, Ace." Ace looked at her. "Kira." Kira nodded. "We need to talk. Do you really think I would hurt Luffy or Sabo?" Ace hummed. "Seeing how you cursed me, my future child, grandchild, my entire future generation, to Hell. Yes, I was a bit worried." Kira opened her mouth, before she closed it and nodded and tried again. "Well… okay, fine, I did. But you pushed me down a roof! I was mad!" Ace nodded. "Noted. Also, would you like to join the gathering next week? I am sending Ann, you can tag along if you want." Kira blinked. "I would really like that. I am heading to the one in 2 weeks." Ace nodded. "Neither Ann nor I am going to that. No one is there for us." Kira nodded. "I get that, but I have someone there." Ace nodded. "Cool." Vista didn't look happy, but Ann would be there, making it more safe in a way.
The day then went on, Ace leaving for a bit for some quick work, and they had their meeting, Trevor joining as he was curious about their dynamics, and he saw no harm in that. Ace would also join when he came back. When the meeting had been going on for almost 20 minutes, the door opened and Ace came in, and Whitebeard was about to speak, as Ace looked a bit… well, annoyed. When Ace moved to be behind Atmos. "Move." Atmos frowned. "Wha-" Ace gave a small growl. "Move!" That made him move and Ace took the chair and moved it a bit to the side, before he moved to sit down in it sideways, before he let out a sigh, and Trevor lifted an eyebrow. "Did you just growl at him to move so you can lie in a chair?" Ace nodded. "I did." Trevor gave a dumb look. "Ace, you wonder why people are scared of you? And you continue to do things that make you seem scary." Ace shrugged. "It's not my fault if I scare them." Trevor hummed. "It kinda is. Right now, it is." Ace rolled his eyes. "I want to lie in a chair!" Trevor nodded. "And there is nothing wrong with that, but try and not be scary or seem like you are threatening others." Ace just rolled his eyes.
Izou blinked. "What just happened?" Trevor blinked, before he laughed. "Oh yeah! You haven't been too much around Ace yet. He can be a child." Ace gave a glare. "I am not a child!" Trevor gave a look at Ace. "You just growled at someone to move so you could lie in a chair. That is a bit childish." Ace just rolled his eyes again. It did make somewhat sense. Ace was just 19. Even though that was easy to forget based on how he acted. He seemed so much older in his ways. But if he had been raised as an assassin from a young age, that made sense. He needed to be an adult, probably from a young age. He really hoped he could see more of this side of Ace. But he could only hope.
And that's the chapter!
This is just some small things as we move along
