Hi everyone! Here is another chapter!

I have no idea how long this story will be, hopefully it won't be as long as the original AoS, which is over 100 chapters and almost 1 mill words. Hopefully this will not turn into that, but who knows

This isn't that long of a chapter, but it is something that will be relevant for later

Hope you enjoy

Read and relax

Whitebeard sat out on deck, everyone enjoying a good day. They were close to some islands now, and would try and visit many of them, they were mostly neutral or friendly. As he was enjoying the day, he heard Thatch hum. "There is a new Warlord. Called The Surgeon of Death. His name is Trafalgar Law." Luffy looked at Thatch. "What is a Warlord?" Thatch hummed. "A person who somewhat works for the marines, many times a pirate or something else the marines usually doesn't approve of." Luffy blinked, "Why would anyone do that?" Thatch shrugged. "People have their reasons." Whitebeard got Luffy thought it was weird, as it was a bit weird. But as Thatch said, they had their reasons. He also had read that input, and that Warlord wasn't that far away from them. Hopefully their paths wouldn't cross. But if the Warlord was smart, he would keep his distance to them.

During the next month, when they were docked at some islands, Luffy and Sabo would be gone for a bit sporadically, but never long, before they turned up. When he had asked where they were, Luffy had tried to answer, but was stopped by Sabo who said they just roamed. He had a feeling it was more than that, but they did seem fine. Unless it became an issue, he would let it slide for now. They did seem fine and well, so it couldn't be anything bad, right?

But the next time they docked, Luffy disappeared early in the morning. He was just gone, they couldn't find him, and even Sabo was worried. So, they got into search parties. It was Luffy after all, he was air headed at times without sense of direction and time. The island wasn't that big, so it was weird. Where could he be?

They then searched all day and night, at first, they just looked, before they started yelling for Luffy and asking the locals, but no one had really seen him. A few had, but not lately. This was odd. After searching all night and the sun rose, he felt really worried, and Sabo sighed, and looked at him. "I know you don't want to hear this, but we need to call Ace." Whitebeard closed his eyes and took a breath, before he nodded. "You are right. We do." Sabo sighed. "It is Luffy. He is probably in some small trouble, nothing bad happening." Marco sighed. "Or, he is injured, or worse, yoi." That was what he was scared about. Not only since the kid might be injured, but about his brother's reaction to that. But, still, they needed to call him.

He then asked Sabo to call Ace. They just needed to get this over with. It didn't take long before Ace appeared in the meeting room as Sabo burned a feather, Dust first showing up and cawing when Sabo said Luffy was gone, making Ace appear. Ace looked at Sabo. "I heard wrong, right? Luffy is not gone." Sabo nodded as he looked worried. "He is. We don't know where he is. He just disappeared yesterday morning." Ace looked at Sabo. "Go outside, in case he comes back. I'll be out soon." Sabo did give a worried look to them, but did leave, it made him take a breath. Now would the stern Ace come.

Ace moved his hands to his mouth, seeming to try and think, and then Marco was on his way to talk, Ace moved a hand. "Zip it. Unless you have hidden him, zip it. Let me think for a few seconds here." He said in a voice that was clearly trying to hold back. They all nodded, and Ace got his seconds to think, before he took a breath. "So, you are telling me, that yesterday morning, you lost him, and I am just now being notified? Whose stupid idea was it to wait?" That was stupid. They should have called yesterday. Maybe not right away, but before it passed into today. He had waited long, and he shouldn't have, he would have been mad himself if this was one of his family members.

He was on his way to speak, when Ace did, a glare to him. "I am still going to keep my promise up. He is hurt, you get hurt. He is dead, you get one chance to run. Now, I will go to town and search around. Hopefully, for your sake, you missed something." He hoped for that, that Ace could and would find Luffy all right.

The next hour was tense, before Ace came back and gave a sigh, looking at them. "Only lead, is that the Warlord, Surgeon of Death, has been close. But I have no clue why he would have taken Luffy. You haven't met, have you?" Whitebeard shook his head. No, they haven't. And he was about to say this, when another voice spoke up carefully from behind. "We have." Said Sabo, making Ace turn around. "What now?" Asked Ace, and Sabo sighed. "The Warlord, we've met, a lot. We just never… said it to anyone. I also think Luffy's been with him a few times without me…" Ace moved a hand to his face, before he sighed, looking at his brother. "Then I will visit him. You stay here, and hopefully, he is there and safe somehow. And, we will have a long talk later, Sabo." Sabo nodded and looked to be worried himself, as well as full of regret. Probably not thinking the warlord would take Luffy.

Ace then sent Dust and went to get ready, and when he was gone, Whitebeard looked at Sabo. "Why did you never tell me you've met him? The Warlord?" Sabo sighed. "I don't know! I know this will sound insane, but he seemed so nice too. I can't believe he took Luffy! I am a horrible brother right now! I should have never spoken with him or let Luffy be with him!" Whitebeard nodded. "How often have you met?" Sabo sighed again. "At first, it was a run in, before we just met here and there and had some food together. He did ask a lot of questions about you, but we never really answered them. I feel so bad."

Whitebeard nodded. "Don't blame yourself. You couldn't have known this would happen." Sabo sighed. "Maybe, but still. I should have told you about it, not kept it a secret from you. Maybe you could have talked some senses into me." Maybe they could have, but done was done. Now, they could only hope Luffy was fine, but based on this Warlord's reputation, he had a sinking feeling.

Nothing happened for about 2 hours, Sabo being very tense and worried, and he was himself, before they moved to the meeting room to wait for news from Ace, also having Bay ready, all just in case.

But after the two hours, the door opened and Luffy came barging in, a huge grin on his face. It made him breathe out relieved. He was okay. And, Luffy looked fine, as in not hurt. Sabo moved over to him. "Are you okay! Why did you go with them?!" Luffy hummed. "They kidnapped me! I got this weird sleep candy and woke up there." Whitebeard blinked. They had actually kidnapped him? Why? Ace came in as well, and Sabo moved his hands to cover Luffy's ears. "They dead?" Ace shook his head. "No. We came to an… understanding." That was something. Sabo then took a small breath and looked at his older brother. "Will we still stay here?" This was it, the moment of truth.

If Ace said no, he would get it. If he got hurt, he would get it. He had been careless. Ace gave a smile to his brother. "You will. This was just all an unforeseen incident." That made him breathe out relieved, that was good. Sabo breathed out as well, and Luffy looked at Sabo, head lowered. "I'm sorry I got kidnapped…" Sabo shook his head. "No, don't be. It wasn't your fault, Lu. But, try not to next time." Luffy nodded and smiled. "I will!" Sabo smiled as well. "But now, can you leave a sec?" Luffy nodded and left, and Sabo looked at Ace. "How are they not dead? They kidnapped him." Ace sighed. "They did. But, Luffy doesn't want them dead. Guess who likes The Surgeon of Death?" Sabo blinked. "Luffy does? Why?" Ace sighed. "Beats me. I hate it. But, we worked it out for now. I am watching them, closely." Made sense. He did feel a bit bad for this Warlord, but at the same time, he knew this Warlord was a dangerous person.

Ace looked at Sabo. "Leave for a sec, okay?" Sabo nodded and did, and when he was gone and the door closed, Ace looked at him. "Reason one you're not injured or dead: Luffy is fine. Reason two: Luffy is happy. Reason three: You actually had no control of this, Luffy made a choice. But do heed these words; Keep a better eye on him. Got me?" Whitebeard nodded, and Ace did as well. "Good. Now that we're on the same page, I will stay a small bit, before I need to leave. I am not a happy person right now, as you lost him. What would you have done if it wasn't for me?" Whitebeard gave a breath. "I don't know."

Ace gave a small glare. "No, you don't. You got lucky. The Warlord, Surgeon of Death, doesn't just have a boat, he has a submarine. He could have gone off the grid, with Luffy. You should be so thankful that I am acquaintances with him, that we are keeping tabs on him and knew exactly where he was. This situation could have been a hundred times worse. You got lucky." The captain nodded, he knew he had been really careless, and apologies wouldn't do too much here. He shouldn't have been this careless. "I am very sorry. I knew something was up with Sabo and Luffy, but never would I have thought it was this. You have my thanks for finding Luffy."

Ace took a breath, most likely trying to calm himself a bit as he did seem annoyed, rightfully so. "Luffy is safe, for now. Now, I need to speak with Sabo for a bit, then I will leave. I might be able to stay an hour. But do know, if this happens again, I will not be as calm and understanding as I am right now." Whitebeard nodded, he knew that. He shouldn't have been this careless. Ace then left.

As the door closed, Thatch took a breath. "I love Luffy and Sabo, I do. But have we taken water over our heads here? I mean, their brother is the world's most dangerous person, and he is so overprotective. I am thankful for all his help and all that. I think Ace is pretty awesome, but what if a real accident happens and Luffy or Sabo get really injured? Are we dead?" Marco moved a hand a bit up. "He is their older brother, yoi. Wouldn't you have been worried sick if, I don't know, Haruta, got kidnapped on someone else's watch? Try and see it from Ace's eyes, yoi. Luffy and Sabo are all he has." That was true, and made them all nod, and Thatch sighed. "I get that, and I would have been so mad if I was him. But still, we have an immense responsibility here. We have the Ace of Spades' brothers here, probably his most prized possessions. We mess up, we will suffer." Marco nodded. "I know, yoi. But I am sure we won't, yoi. Luffy and Sabo are now family. We knew what the risks were. Try and get to know Ace better, yoi. He is really kind as well. I know you're still scared of him, Thatch." Thatch nodded, and Whitebeard knew it as well, and he was a bit himself. If they were close to this Warlord again, he would try and speak to him,

Hopefully, nothing like this would ever happen again. The captain would be more vigilant.
