Szayelaporro's laughter echoed through the halls ofLas Noches, a sound that made my skin crawl. The Espada had vanished into the shadows, leaving us to deal with wave after wave of Hollows. My arms ached with every swing of my sword, and sweat dripped down my forehead, but I kept moving. I couldn't stop. Not now.

"There's too many!" I yelled, cutting through another Hollow as its mask shattered.

Ichigo growled, slashing down two at once with a single swing ofZangetsu. "We don't have time for this!"

Uryu, firing his arrows with precision, glanced toward Ichigo. "We need to find a way out of this ambush. Standing here is suicide!"

"Then let's move!" Chad roared, punching through a Hollow that crumbled into ash.

Ichigo took the lead, carving a path through the horde, his eyes set like fire. I stayed close behind him, my heart pounding. I couldn't let fear take over. Not here.

We ran. The endless white halls ofLas Nochesblurred together as we sprinted through corridor after corridor. My lungs burned, and my legs threatened to give out, but I pushed myself forward. Every second we wasted, Orihime was still out there—waiting.

Suddenly, Ichigo skidded to a halt. "Wait."

I crashed into his back, nearly dropping my sword. "What? What's wrong?"

I looked up.

At the far end of the hallway stood a figure, leaning lazily against the wall with his arms crossed. The moment I saw him, I felt it—a suffocating pressure, like a mountain pressing down on my chest. His teal hair, sharp grin, and intense blue eyes could only mean one thing.

"Grimmjow..." Ichigo said through gritted teeth.

Grimmjow Jaegerjaquez, theSexta Espada, stepped forward, his casual steps echoing through the empty corridor. His white coat flapped slightly as he moved, and the wicked grin on his face sent chills down my spine.

"Well, well," Grimmjow drawled, tilting his head. "If it isn'tKurosaki Ichigo. I was wondering when you'd show your face around here."

Ichigo stepped forward, his grip onZangetsutightening. "Get out of the way, Grimmjow."

Grimmjow let out a dark chuckle, his blue eyes narrowing. "Oh, I don't think so,Shinigami." He cracked his knuckles, the sound echoing through the hall. "I've been waiting for a rematch. And lucky me—you brought your little friends along. Maybe I'll break them first, just to see the look on your face."

I swallowed hard, my palms sweating against the hilt of my sword. Grimmjow's presence alone was overwhelming. Hisreiatsufelt like a storm, pressing against my skin, making it hard to breathe.

"Don't listen to him, (Y/N)," Ichigo said without looking back. "Stay out of this."

I opened my mouth to argue, but Grimmjow's laugh cut me off. "Oh, what's this? You're protecting her? She doesn't look like much. I'd say she's dead weight."

"Shut up," I growled, surprising myself.

Grimmjow's grin widened. "Oh? You've got a little fire in you, huh? I like that. Makes it more fun when I crush you."

"I said, SHUT UP!"

I charged forward before I could stop myself. My sword felt heavy, but I ignored the fear boiling in my chest. I couldn't let him talk about me like that. I couldn't let him look down on me.

"(Y/N), NO!" Ichigo yelled, but it was too late.

Grimmjow barely moved as I swung my sword. In one fluid motion, he blocked my blade with his bare hand. His fingers wrapped around the steel, holding it in place like it was nothing. My eyes widened in horror as he smirked down at me.

"Nice try," he said mockingly, his voice low. Then, before I could react, he lifted his other hand and backhanded me across the hallway.

Pain exploded through my side as I crashed into the wall. I gasped for breath, trying to push myself up, but my vision swam.

"Grimmjow!" Ichigo roared, hisreiatsuflaring like wildfire.

I barely managed to lift my head to see Ichigo charging forward,Zangetsuglowing with power. The force of his spiritual energy made the entire hallway tremble. Grimmjow's grin widened, and he drew his own sword—a wicked, curved blade.

The clash was like thunder.

Ichigo and Grimmjow's swords collided, sending shockwaves through the air that nearly knocked me off my feet again. Sparks flew, and the sheer power of their battle rattled the walls. I scrambled to stand up, pressing a hand to my side where pain throbbed.

"Stay back, (Y/N)!" Uryu shouted, grabbing my arm and pulling me behind him.

"But Ichigo—!"

"Trust him," Chad said calmly, standing beside us, his massive arm raised in case Grimmjow turned his attention our way.

I could only watch, my heart pounding in my ears, as Ichigo and Grimmjow clashed again and again. Ichigo was fast, his movements a blur, but Grimmjow was just as quick—andhe was toying with him.

"What's the matter, Ichigo?" Grimmjow taunted, deflecting a heavy blow. "You're not holding back, are you? Because I sure as hell won't."

"Shut up!" Ichigo yelled, swingingZangetsuwith everything he had.

The force of the blow sent Grimmjow skidding backward, his feet grinding against the floor. For a moment, he looked surprised—but then his grin returned, wider than ever.

"You're finally getting serious," Grimmjow said, licking the blood from a small cut on his lip. "Good. Because I want to see what you've really got."

Ichigo's shoulders heaved as he glared at Grimmjow, hisreiatsuflaring brighter. But I could tell—Ichigo was already tired. He'd been fighting nonstop since we entered Hueco Mundo, and Grimmjow wasn't even breaking a sweat.

We can't keep this up,I thought, panic rising in my chest. We need to find Orihime. We don't have time for this.

But Grimmjow wasn't going to let us leave. Not until he got what he wanted—a fight to the death.

I gripped my sword tightly, ignoring the pain in my body. I didn't know what I could do, but I couldn't just stand here while Ichigo fought alone.

"(Y/N), what are you—" Uryu started, but I cut him off.

"We can't let Ichigo fight this alone."

Chad nodded solemnly. "We fight together."

As Ichigo and Grimmjow clashed again, the rest of us stepped forward. We weren't going to let Grimmjow tear us apart. Orihime was waiting for us—and no Espada, not even Grimmjow, would stop us.
