Grimmjow and Ichigo's clash sent another shockwave down the corridor, nearly knocking me off my feet again. I grit my teeth, forcing myself to stay upright. The battle between them was like watching a storm—violent, chaotic, and overwhelming.

Ichigo's breathing was heavy now, sweat dripping down his face, but his determination burned brighter than ever. "I told you... get out of our way!" he yelled, charging forward withZangetsuraised.

Grimmjow dodged, a wild grin still plastered across his face. "You're persistent, I'll give you that!" He blocked Ichigo's blade with his own and turned just enough to glance in my direction.

"Though I gotta say, your little friend over there..." Grimmjow's blue eyes locked onto me, sharp and assessing, "...she's got guts."

I stiffened, feeling the weight of his gaze like a thousand needles. He was looking atme. Not Ichigo, not Uryu, not Chad—just me. My heartbeat quickened, but I wasn't sure if it was from fear or something else entirely.

Ichigo swung at him again, rage flaring in his voice. "Don't youdarelook at her!"

Grimmjow laughed as he blocked, almost gleeful. "Oh? What's the matter, Kurosaki? Afraid I'll take an interest?"

His words sent a chill down my spine, but I refused to look away. My hands tightened around the hilt of my sword. I wasn't going to let Grimmjow see me afraid—not again.

"You talk too much," I said, surprising even myself with how steady my voice sounded.

Grimmjow's grin faltered for just a second, his brows lifting in amusement. "Oh?Nowyou're talking?" He leaned back, dodging Ichigo's furious attack with ease. "You've got more nerve than I thought."

"Leave her alone!" Ichigo roared, hisreiatsuflaring like wildfire.

Grimmjow parried his strike with an almost lazy movement, never breaking eye contact with me. "I can't help it. She's interesting. You don't see that kind of fire every day—especially from someone so... weak."

"Shut up!" I snapped, stepping forward instinctively.

In a flash, Grimmjow's eyes lit up with something dangerous—something that made my pulse spike. He disappeared from where he stood, and before I could even react, he was right in front of me. I froze, my breath caught in my throat as I looked up into his piercing blue eyes.

"Grimmjow!" Ichigo shouted, but Grimmjow ignored him.

"Well, well..." Grimmjow said, his tone low and mocking as he leaned down, far too close for comfort. "Not backing down even when you're scared out of your mind. I like that."

I swallowed hard, my hand trembling on my sword hilt. I knew I should move, swing, something—but I couldn't. It wasn't just his strength that terrified me; it was the way he looked at me, like he was toying with the idea of tearing me apart—but was also... curious.

"Get away from her!"

Ichigo'sreiatsuexploded, and in a flash,Zangetsucame crashing down between us. Grimmjow leapt back with a laugh, his grin wider than ever. "Easy there, Kurosaki. You're no fun when you're this uptight."

Ichigo stood protectively in front of me now, his breathing heavy. "You touch her again, and I'll kill you."

Grimmjow tilted his head, his grin never fading. "Kill me, huh? You're welcome to try." His gaze flicked to me again, just briefly, before settling back on Ichigo. "But you're gonna need to do better than that."

Without warning, he raised his sword, hisreiatsuflaring so violently that the walls shook. "Come on,Kurosaki!Show me what you've got!"

The air thickened, and I could barely breathe as Ichigo charged at him again, their swords colliding with earth-shaking force. Chad and Uryu rushed forward, ready to support Ichigo, but I couldn't move. My legs were shaking.

"(Y/N), are you okay?" Chad asked, suddenly beside me, his voice steady despite the chaos.

"I'm fine," I lied, though my heart was still racing. "I... I just—"

"Ichigo needs us," Uryu interrupted, his voice calm but firm. "Grimmjow isn't someone we can ignore. If we don't fight together, we're done."

I nodded, forcing myself to stand tall and push the fear away.Orihime needs us. I won't let Grimmjow stop us.

We rushed back into the fight. I stayed close to Chad as he delivered earth-shaking punches to the Hollows that had gathered, his strength clearing a path for us to reach Ichigo. Uryu's arrows soared through the air, striking with perfect precision.

And Ichigo... Ichigo fought like a storm. Every swing ofZangetsushook the palace, and for the first time, even Grimmjow seemed to be enjoying himself.

"This is it!" Grimmjow shouted, his voice wild with excitement as he unleashed another attack. "Come on, Ichigo! Don't you dare hold back now!"

Ichigo roared, his energy flaring so brightly that I had to shield my eyes.

The battle raged on, and all I could do was fight to keep up, my sword clashing against the few enemies that tried to get between me and my friends. But even through the chaos, I felt it—Grimmjow's eyes on me again. Watching. Waiting.

And for the first time, I wondered... what was he really thinking?
