Upon Marty's return to Llanview, she went to visit her friends Nora and Vicki. They had agreed to have coffee at Llanfair. The three friends sat down at the table to enjoy their coffee and chat. "How is Cole doing? Have you gone to see him?" she asked Nora.
"Yes, I visited him in prison and he's very excited to get out soon.""I am so happy for him. I hope he and Starr can be reunited. Speaking of Starr, how is she doing? How's Hope?" Marty asked Vicki.
"They are both doing well. You should go over and visit," Vicki replied.
"Where is she staying?" asked Marty.
"She's with Todd. Would you rather me invite her here so you don't have to -."
Nora nearly choked on a sip of her coffee at the mention of Todd's name.
"No, Vicki. I have to face him sometime. I'll be fine."
"Just be careful, Marty. I don't trust Todd," Nora warned. "I'm sorry, Vicki. I know he's your brother."
"It's okay, Nora, I am well aware that things are difficult for you... and for Marty when it comes to Todd... and Victor."
"None of us are angels. I have made my own mistakes - very, VERY big ones. I came back here to Llanview to make a new start," Marty said.
The three friends exchanged warm hugs before Marty left to visit Starr and her granddaughter Hope.
"Thanks for the coffee," Marty said with a smile. "It was delicious."
"We'll all have to get together soon," Nora said with a smile."I'd like that," Marty replied.

Marty arrived outside of Todd's new penthouse where he lived with Starr and their granddaughter Hope. She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. She thought no one would answer as time seemed to pass so slowly, but eventually someone pulled open the door.
Marty stood face to face with Starr. "Marty! I am so happy to see you!" Starr said as she gave Marty a big hug. "It's been so long."
"Far too long. How are you doing? How's little Hope?"
"I'm doing well... and Hope- you wouldn't even recognize her. She's grown sooo much."
"Ohhh I bet. I missed so much with her. I am so glad to be here."
"I'm glad you're here, too."
As Starr and Marty were talking, a little girl came out into the living room, carrying a doll. It was Hope! Marty recognized her right away. Her little face was so adorable. She was the cutest little girl in the whole world.
"Hope," Marty said as tears filled up her eyes. "My precious granddaughter."
Starr picked up her daughter and brought her to Marty's side. Hope looked at her grandmother with shy blue eyes - Marty's eyes. "Hope, this is your Grandma Marty. She loves you sooo much."
"Ohhh please, could I hold her?" Marty asked hopefully.
"Sure, but she's a little shy," Starr agreed.

Nora returned home to find her little grandson in front of the TV, watching cartoons. When he saw his grandmother, his little face lit up with happiness. "Gramma, you're back!" Drew said, running into Nora's arms.
Nora scooped up the small adorable boy. "Did you miss me?"
Drew nodded "yes."
Nora paid the babysitter and she left.
Ever since Matthew and Destiny started having troubles in their relationship, Drew and Destiny had gone to stay with Bo and Nora. Having the sweet little guy around had made Nora's heart beat with happiness but she was sad that her son wasn't taking responsibility for his family. Since Matthew was grown adult, all she could do was pray that he'd do what was right and be a good father to his son. Drew needed his daddy and it wasn't fair that Destiny had to work long hours to support their little boy.
"Should we go out and get you a Halloween costume? You want to go trick-or-treating, don't you?"
"Yes! YES!" Drew said with excitement. "Can I go with Hope? She's my best friend."
"Sure, I'll ask her mommy."
Nora gently placed Drew down on the sofa and picked up her mail that was setting on the table. Destiny must have carried it in before she left for her shift. A mysterious envelope set there on the table, along with all the junk mail. Nora picked it up and opened it as look of shock settled over her face.

All of the sudden, Marty's reunion with her little granddaughter was halted when Todd strode into the room. "Hey, Starr, I made a pot of coffee, do you want...?"
Suddenly Todd's voice faded away when he saw Marty standing in the doorway with Starr and Hope. "It's you," he finally muttered.
"Yes, Todd, it's me. I am back in Llanview."
Todd looked her up and down, scanning her from head to toe. "You haven't changed a bit."
"I hope you have," she said as her blue eyes turned stormy. "You stay out of my way... and I'll stay out of yours."
"You're the one who showed up at my door, Marty. Not the other way around."
"I'm here to see Starr... and Hope. Not you."
"I'll go then." Todd grabbed his jacket and rushed out the door.
"Gampa," Starr said in her sweet voice in confusion.
"Marty, I'm sorry..." Starr started, but Marty gently interrupted.
"Please don't apologize, Starr. None of this is your fault. I didn't mean to upset you... or Hope. I just wanted some time with my granddaughter."
"Of course. You're welcome here anytime, but I just can't guarantee you won't run into my dad from time to time. He invited us to live here... gave us a place to say. He really has tried to change. He's a wonderful father to me and he adores Hope. She loves him so much."
"Gampa," Hope said again, still confused at why her grandfather had abruptly left.
"It's okay, Hope," Starr said to her little girl. "Grandpa will be back. It's time you spent some time with your Grandma Marty. She loves you and she missed you so much."
"Yes, I did," said Marty as she reached for the sweet child. Hope went into Marty's arms, resting her tiny head on Marty's shoulder.

After leaving the penthouse, Todd went to the cemetery. He stood over the grave of Victor, thinking of the night he had shot his own twin brother. "Marty's back," he spoke to the tombstone. "You'll never hurt her again. Because of you and what you did to her, she nearly killed Kelly and Natalie, our own niece. You didn't deserve to live. I'm not sorry I shot you."
Suddenly, he heard footsteps behind him and the crunching of autumn leaves, making his heart start to pound.

As Nora pulled the envelope open, she got the shock of her life. It was a creepy invitation to a Halloween party. The paper that made up the invitation was glossy black, with white ghostly lettering which said,"You've been selected to attend a Halloween event at the abandoned house on Haunted Hill. If you don't show up by 7 pm on All Hallow's Eve, you'll be forever be haunted by the ghost of the young girl who was buried on the property many years ago. If you don't come, then you'll meet the same fate."At the bottom of the invitation a signature had been scrawled that said simply The Killer.
Nora was startled; she had never heard of the house on Haunted Hill before. Perhaps it was just a Halloween prank. Even so, she decided she should investigate. If a girl was murdered, she deserved justice. Nora decided she needed to ask someone about what she had read in the unsettling invitation. Before she took Drew hunting for his Halloween costume, she'd call Bo in hope of discovering some much needed answers.
