Naruto stood in silence, his eyes filled with amazement and awe upon the magical display of power from the rinnegan.
He could just sense the realms of life and death merging together in this very place as Nagato performs the samsara of heavenly life jutsu.
"It's…done…" nagato brittle and almost life-less voice stated as he finished his jutsu.
Naruto closed his eyes and used his sage sense to cheek if everyone had been revived.
Relief and comfort rushed to his heart as he senses the life of all those he cared about began to beat once more.
He quickly wiped away his tears before he looked back to Nagato with giant smile.
"I can't thank you enough for this, Nagato." Naruto thanked the former redhead since the man's hair had turned ghostly white.
"No…I have to thank you…for allowing me…to see the error of…my ways…" Nagato voice became weaker and weaker as he spoke.
His body seemingly became even thinner and paler as he spoke through his coughs.
"Nagato! Are you okay?!" Konan ran over to to her friend, worriedly checking every part of his body to see if he was alright.
"…my life…is drain as…we speak…I have very little…time left." Nagato looked down at the ground as he contemplated something in his mind.
He conflicted about something but soon his eyes became more resolved, even a sense of relief filled his face.
He slowly closed his eyes before he raised his head and focused his gaze upon Naruto.
"Naruto…can I ask…you something…" Nagato raspy voice echoed across the save as he stares intensely at Naruto.
"Anything, what is that you need?" Naruto quickly said as he looked upon the dire situation Nagato was in.
"Do you…wish to start…a new life…" Nagato asked in all seriousness as he stared deep into Naruto eyes.
"Huh, um…why do you ask?" Naruto tilted his head as he stared at Nagato with bewilderment.
"There are…still danger lurking around…waiting to attack you and gain the nine tails…" Nagato stared at Naruto stomach as he spoke.
"They will…hunt you until…they get what they want…you staying…will only delay the inevitable…" Nagato words left Naruto speechless in his tracks.
He looks bewildered by what Nagato said and stared intensely at him to see if the man was lying to him.
However, the serious look in Nagato diluted all of Naruto illusions.
Naruto clenched his frustration, he just finished one threat and now there was a far bigger threat to him.
Just why was he given such a harsh and tedious life! why couldn't he just been given a normal one instead.
However, all his complaints were worthless in front of the inevitable standing before him.
He should focus on the matter in front of him and try to gain as much protection for himself and everyone he loves.
"…where am I even supposed to go then?" Naruto asked as he hesitantly gazed into Nagato eyes.
"I have a technique…that can open portal and allow you to enter a new world…" Nagato said as he cleared Naruto confusion.
"There…you will no longer…have your social burdens…you can live a life for yourself…one where only you need to be happy…" Nagato gave a look of compassion and pity as he looked at Naruto.
The blonde Jinchuriki stood frozen in his place, he had though Nagato would have suggest moving to another country or something.
He wasn't expecting this, going to another world! Was that even possible!
Wait, even if it is true. Should he even take the option, wouldn't he leave his friend behind?
But it might be the best option for him. After all, the very act of him staying in Konoha had brought numerous troubles to him and those close to him.
Yet, is he really willing to leave everything behind him just like. To walk away from everyone?
Naruto face looked troubled as he contemplating if he should take the offer and leave this world.
"Take it." A booming and dark voice echoed in his mind as it whispered words of encouragement.
"You can start anew and live a better life than in this filth." It was the kyubi that was whispering words of seduction onto him.
"Why do you care?" Naruto asked the tailed beast living inside of him as he entered his mindscape.
He stood in the dark sewer of mind as he looked towards the giant beast in front of him.
A giant nine-tailed fox with rabbit ears behind held behind the red bars, his face filled with mockery and hatred as he looked down at his jailer.
"For I hate this world and wish to enter a better one." Rage filled his voice as it remembered at the torture inflicted on him by the humans.
"You just want it because it benefits you, huh." Naruto glared at the nine tailed fox before his eyes.
"Oh don't be like that, I know you want it too." The fox said as it nears it face towards the blonde-haired man.
"I know that you hate how the village treated you and deep down, you want to start a new life." The bijuu said with conviction as it stared right into his eyes.
"How long have they abused you? How long have they ignored the human inside of you? How long have you been only seen as a demon?" The kyubi asked with mockery and pity filling his eyes.
"They have only seen you as my container and their weapon, never as Naruto uzuamki." The kyubi smiled upon seeming the dark look in Naruto eyes.
"Don't you want to be free and not be looked as something everyone hates."
"Don't you want to be seen as Naruto uzuamki, a man with a dream and not as demon."
The kyubi stayed quiet as he looked towards his host reaction, smiling as he saw the struggle with the boy's eyes.
"The opportunity for change is right in front of you." The nine tails playful said as it got up from his place and sent a condescending look to Naruto.
"You can finally get everything you wanted in life." His cold yet confident voice echoed in his mindscape.
"Freedom, respect, love, recognition, and support." The nine tails listed off everything Naruto ever wanted to help push the man to accept the offer.
"You could even start a family there, with nothing to stop you." The fox stated with an evil grin upon his face, pulling the final straw in Naruto mind.
Naruto stared silently at the dirty water below him, his once clenched fist loosened after a few seconds.
He left his mind and looked up to Nagato, eyes filled with hesitation yet at the same time hope. "I want to leave."
Nagato smiled with relief as he stared at jinchuriki, relieved that his last clansman and friend had accepted his offer.
"Good…but can I ask a small favor…" the leader of the akatsuki asked as he took silent glance at Konan.
"Sure, anything." Naruto agreed without any questions since he did own Nagato a lot for what he did and what he's doing.
"Can…you please take konan with you…and help her…live a good life…" Nagato asked while turn his head towards his childhood friend.
Konan eyes widen upon his words, series of emotion flashed before her eyes. The one that occupied her mind the most was panic and fear.
"No!" Konan shouted as she ran over to Nagato with shocked and hurt eyes.
"I'm not leaving you Nagato." Konan stated as she grabbed hold of her longtime friend hand and stare at him.
"…Konan…I want what's best for…you shouldn't spend your life…sad and alone…you should be happy…" Nagato used the last remain strength he had to gentle rub konan cheek.
"Live…a happy and fulfilling life…for me and yahiko." Nagato smiled at his friend before looking back at Naruto.
Konan was left speechless by his words, unable to come up with any argument to counteract his.
She took a sad look at Nagato before moved to the corner and stood their quietly, with unknown thoughts going through her mind.
Nagato stared at his childhood friend sadly with a sigh before he straightened his resolved and turned his attention to Naruto.
"Naruto…come to me…" Nagato gently motioned Naruto to come closer to him.
Naruto didn't ask why, he trusted Nagato and didn't believe he would hurt him. So, he walked towards the skinny man without worry.
Nagato grabbed his hand and look up to him. "I will transfer…the knowledge of the jutsu…and my rinnegan to you."
"You can do that?" Naruto was shocked at first before he grew confused at Nagato words. "Wait why?"
"The power…of the rinnegan…is too great for anyone…to hold…it must be kept safe in…a good man hand…" Nagato stated his reasonings to Naruto with complete trust.
"Are you willing to take on…that responsibility?" Nagato asked but knew the answer right away.
Naruto started at the rinnegan user with astonishment, unable to believe the amount of trust and responsibility being handed to him.
He had seen the power of rinnegan firsthand and fought against it, he fully understands just how much power it holds.
So, after long thought. He nodded since he knew that such power cannot be held in those that want to harm the world and should be kept safe.
"…okay, but how will you do it." Naruto asked with confusion written all over his face.
"Ha…ha…the powers of chakra…is vast and dangerous…we have only…touched the surface of it…" Nagato said mysteriously before grabbing hold of both Naruto hands.
"Are you ready?" Nagato asked the whiskered man one last time.
"Yes." Naruto hesitated only for a moment before he nodded with completely seriousness.
Nagato nodded before he gripped onto Naruto hands, blue flame-shaped energy formed their hands.
Another energy appeared from Nagato eyes, this time purple, it moved from his face and transferred into Naruto body.
Naruto eyes began to burn as it started to transform, gone was his blue eyes and now replaced with purple eyes with rings forming around it.
After the transfer was done, the rinnegan receded back into his pupils, causing his purple eyes to turn back to piercing sky blue.
"That hurt." Naruto said as he painfully rubbed his eyes.
"Ha…ha…yeah, I felt…the same once I got…" Nagato chuckled as reminisce about when he got the rinnegan.
"You could've at least given me a warning." Naruto stated through his gritted teeth.
"…yes… I could've." Nagato smiled before his eyes started to fade away.
He stayed quiet but still had his smirk on his face, Naruto tisk at the man before he angrily looked away.
The former rinnegan laughed at his friend immature before his mature became serious as he touched his body.
"I only have…a few moments left…so…always remember these words to live by." Nagato wore drew his friend's attention as they looked over to him.
"Always live your life…the way you want to live it…and you will be truly happy." Nagato let out a small smile before he finally died.
The two former enemies stood still as they looked sadly at the final remains of Nagato.
Naruto stared at with tears rolling down his face before he wiped the away and turned to Konan.
"I'll wait for outside when you're ready." Naruto said as he looked at the girl, feeling like she need to be alone for a while.
Konan nodded with her head down while Naruto waked out of the tree and waited for her to be completely ready to leave.
Once Konan knew that Naruto was outside, she finally let go of her facade and a lone tear fell from her face.
She looked at the final remains of her friend and hugged him one last time with tears continuously running down her face.
Naruto stood in the direction of the village, silently watching it for the very last time.
He could believe that he was leaving it, after so much work and blood he had shed for it.
But I guess deep down, He always knew that the village would never truly accept who he was and just looked at him as the kyubi.
The constant abuse and neglect from the people had always played in his mind when he looked at village.
He wondered if he should have left the village when he was young but I guess that wouldn't have worked for him.
He was the nine tails jinchuriki for the sage sake. no what he did or where he went, danger would always follow him.
At least in the village, he kind of protected by the shinobi force even if they didn't want to protect him.
But now, he About to leave the leaf village-no, the elemental nation and enter a whole new world.
He questioned himself if he was doing the right thing for a moment. was he truly fine with leaving his friend and family behind?
However, he convinced himself that this was the best for himself and everyone.
He took a deep breath before turning back to the tree and saw Konan walking towards him with a coffin covered in paper
"So, are you ready to leave?" Naruto asked one last time before he held out his hand to her.
Konan looked at him for a moment before turning back to the coffin besides her, she nodded with blank expression.
"Good." Naruto said before he went the properly hand-signs and opens up a blue portal before them.
Konan walked it before she was stopped by Naruto, she looked confused at him and wondered what he was doing.
"Here, it a storage seal." Naruto threw a small scroll at Konan.
The blue haired girl looked surprised by his gesture before she nodded calmly and placed Nagato corpse inside it.
Now with everything dealt with, the two walked towards the blue portal and left this world forever.
They both embraced themselves for what ever the portal had to offer and walked in without any fear.
However, their worries were unnecessary since it didn't do much to them and only lead them to what looks to be a white tunnel.
"Whoa, this is kind of pretty." Naruto looked amazed by the pure beauty of the whiteness before him.
It reminded very much of the diamonds he had seen in those cities, but even they couldn't match the beauty and whiteness of the tunnel.
"Focus Naruto, our exit is that way." Konan commanding voice refocused Naruto attention and caused him to look at where Konan was pointing.
"Fine." Naruto reluctantly said as he and Konan walked towards the other blue light showing in the tunnel.
"What do you think the other world will be like?" Naruto curiously asked his new friend.
"I have no idea, the universe is vast and unknown." Konan calmly stated.
"The new lands could be far better or far worse. In the end, we have no idea." Konan coldly stated as her gaze focused on the portal.
The blonde-haired man sent worried look to the women as she looked directly at portal and nothing else.
Naruto was able to sense that she despite being calm and collected, Konan was scared and nervous about the new world ahead of them.
"I hope it better than the elemental nation."
"... I hope so too but, that not something we can truly decide." Konan calmly stated the fact before them.
"Common on, have some ho-." Naruto carelessly spoke before his expression become serious and stopped both of them from walking.
"What going on?" Konan was confused as to why Naruto had stopped moving and curiously asked.
"Hold my hand." Naruto stated in all seriousness while extending his hand to Konan.
Konan looked strangely at him but trusted and didn't ask anything as she grabbed hold of his hand.
Naruto gripped onto her hand tightly as if he was worried that something could harm her.
Konan wondered why for a few moments before she felt extreme pain coursing through her entire body.
It was as if something was trying to tear her entire body apart from the most fundamental aspect of her.
The pain was beyond anything she had ever experience before and left her frozen in her place.
However, the pain became less and less as she felt a new energy source enter her body and calming down the pain.
"What was that?!" Konan eagerly and worriedly asked as she careful examined her body.
"It was your body changing and adapting to the rules of this new world." Naruto calmly stated as he careful controlled the new energy within their bodies.
"But I still look the same." Konan said in confusion since she still felt and looked the same as before.
"We will only see the result of our changes once we pass through the portal." Naruto stated calmly as he reassures their safety.
He could feel that the dormant energy entering their bodies would only be truly activated once they enter the portal.
"Will it hurt?" Konan asked as she remembered the unbearable pain she felt a few second ago.
Naruto stayed quiet for a moment as he began to collect his words before he looked at Konan.
"As long as you hold my hand, I can stabilize the new energy and keep you safe." Naruto smiled as he gently held onto her hand.
Konan looked a little embarrassed by the intimacy and wanted to let go but fight against it after knowing the dangers of letting go.
So, she very reluctantly held onto Naruto hands as they walked through the white tunnel and into the portal.
The new energy was constantly entering her body but with Naruto help, she was feeling any sort of pain like before.
Though, that can't be said the same for Naruto. His body was aching with pain and cold sweat formed on his body.
Konan looked worriedly at her companion and used her free hand to gently caress his cheeks.
"Are you okay?" Konan asked worriedly as he looked at the pained expression one Naruro face.
"Yeah…I'll be fine. Just need to focus." Naruto stated through his pain expression, trying as confident as he could.
"Don't overwork yourself." Konan eyebrows furrowed as she looked at the shaky smile on Naruto face.
"Don't worry, this is nothing to me." Naruto held up his thumb as he tried to reassure the girl.
Konan was about to reprimanded him more, but Naruto wasn't having that and just moving forwards.
The blue haired girl sighed at his stubbornness but did nothing as she knew he was doing it for them.
So, she stayed quiet and tried to help in anyway she can. A smile almost cracked on her face once she saw that Naruto face eased up and looking more peaceful.
Finally, they made it to the portal. They stood in front of it with worriedly expressions, minds racing with thoughts of what was waiting for them.
Naruto looked at the portal with a sense of fear before she steeled his resolve and clenched onto Konan hand.
"You ready?" Naruto asked his companion as they stood inches away from the portal.
Konan stood still for a moment, frozen in though before she too steeled her resolve and clench onto Naruto hand. "I am."
The whiskered man nodded with a smile, and both walked through the portal together.
Heading towards the unknown together, reading to face whatever the universe was going to send their way.
