Cazador decimates the party before they can free Astarion or interrupt the ritual. With no one to stop him, Cazador ascends, sacrificing his seven thousand souls to the Hells. But Astarion… survives. Alone.

Tav and Gale settle into life together in Waterdeep, finding joy in their new home. Through three lighthearted moments, Gale is left to navigate the challenges of hosting and dealing with peculiar visitors. Both human and otherwise. Last chapter is a heartfelt, intimate moment between them, as they reflect on the choices that brought them together and the meaning of home

However, Astarion has his own agenda as he works for Cazador. When love is added into the mix, complications will arise. Who will win out, and can both keep their cover long enough to convince the other to stay?

Astarion looked Halsin's form over from top to bottom. He realized with the smallest amount of self-disgust that he had been taking more interest in the giant druid of late. OC Durge, Mazelyn, heals the bite marks on her neck the morning after Astarion's feeding. As he watches her, they begin to talk about each other's wounds. A quiet, bittersweet, and comforting atmosphere.

There are many, many ways to die in Faerun. Getting a mind flayer tadpole shoved up one's eye was one of them - even if you had prior knowledge of how to fix it. OC/SI. Minimal romance, but primarily Astarion. Strong language warning.
