Welcome to the Laizanta Region. I'm Professor Drasil. I've been researching the magical phenomena of this region for some time now.
But I'm getting ahead of myself. This region has landscapes of all kinds, and a rich history documenting back hundreds and even thousands of years.
From forests to grasslands, from mountains to glaciers, from the magic academy and castles of the north, to the ancient ruins and mechanized wonderland of the south-east.
In this region, magical energy flows in from another realm, one we've only just begin to explore. For millions of years, this energy has flowed through Laizanta, following the paths of leylines.
As a result, the pokemon of this region, particularly those who have an innate habit of following rhythm or patterns, have adapted to make use of this magical energy. Some have even obtained strange new forms as a result of prolonged exposure to magic!
But thats not all the surges of magic have done. In the Laizanta Region, dungeons manifest in the wild as naturally as hills or lakes do, manifesting anywhere from 3 floors to 100, each with their own challenges, treasures, and pokemon.
Every dungeon contains a boss pokemon at the bottom, such as Mega Pokemon, Echo Trainers (dummy trainers that battle with magically conjured pokemon), Terrastal pokemon, unique variants of existing pokemon such as the Crystal Onix, and even unique pokemon that have only ever appeared as dungeon bosses.
There are plenty of legends and theories about how the dungeons manifest, but no one yet knows the answer.
In the magical city of Imbanka, the Academy of Nankaina teaches young trainers the ins and outs of the mystical arts, from magical brews to spell scroll TMs to incantations and wands.
In the city of Mechanis, Rikaisuru Academy studies the magical energy from a more scientific angle, and has made incredibly strides in technology as a result.
In the capital city of Enjeru housing a castle for the Elite 4 and Champion of the region. There's a gym for every type in this region, as well as gyms of magic in Imbanka and Mechanis, and any eight will do to challenge the League; though some have a habit of gathering as many badges as possible for the reputation.
Others focus their efforts on displays of performance, and travel the region performing in pokemon contests in the hopes of taking the hearts of their audience by storm. Others focus on studies or exploration, gathering ancient and new treasures, or seeking passage into the realm of magic.
And to assist you on your travels, you'll be receiving a starter pokemon! In the Laizanta Region, the starters are known as Twicruit, Flikiflar, and Threshom.
Twicruit. Pure Grass. Appearance: A short green elephant with floppy leaf-like ears; typically holding a stick with its trunk. Dex Entry: Twicruit, The Twig Collector Pokemon. This pokemon constantly searches for twigs to fight with. As it can't fight with proper form, it constantly breaks them.
Flikiflar. Pure Fire. Appearance: A small bird with fiery colored feathers; as well as several longer fan-like feathers. Dex Entry: Flikiflar, The Fan Wing Pokemon. This pokemon cannot fly well with its wings alone, but it has the ability to generate large amounts of heat by flapping its wings. It uses the rising air from small flames it creates to help it take off
Threswom. Pure Water. Appearance: Small shark-like pokemon with leg-like fins and a tail as long as the rest of its body. Dex Entry: Thresom, The Whiplash Pokemon. This pokemon is as fast on land as it is in the water. It uses its long whip-like tail to fight as well as hunt swarming prey.
Twicruit battle with the heart of a warrior, and are constantly practicing their tactics. Flikiflar uses its sparking wings to make its flying type attacks count as fire, and Threshom's Long Tail ability turns Tail Whip into a priority damaging move in addition to its effect on the enemy's defense. Whichever you choose, they'll serve you well if you do the same in return. Now, its time to begin your adventure, here in the Laizanta Region!
Welcome to a little side project of mine. This region is based primarily off of Dragon Quest but in general the works of Toriyama and classic adventure settings. And, because its me, this region was fully created with the concept of human and pokemon breeding in mind.
Its by no means a sex parody region like pokegirls, but I couldn't just not include certain things, like a unique Lopunny evolution among other things. Don't blame me, blame gen four for canonizing it and thus giving me a precedent to include this in a world that otherwise follows the general game design conventions of a pokemon region, having been inspired by other fakemon projects online.
For this story, we'll follow three characters, one for each starter. One focused on learning magic and performing in contests (Daisy), one focused on technology and gym badges (Vince), and one focused on exploration and discovery (Barton).
Who gets which starter is up to you, unless you take too long and I get bored lol. So cast your vote if you care to.
And a side note about the starters, they're design was based on the three weapons you start with access to in Dragon Quest 9 paired with animals that somehow make use of them in nature. So we have an elephant with a stick for a sword, a bird that fans flames with its wings like some birds use fire for hunting, and a thresher shark with a whip tail.
