Chapter 143: Darkness Falls on Kyoto

An hour has passed since I appeared with my monster. The one hour I gave them has passed (even though I didn't really make any announcements this time). I wonder how they are reacting?

"Uhhn…" Yukime woke up faster than I expected. Even I took a whole night to recover from information overload.

"Aghh…!" She clutches her head. Her brain still aches. Ah. She's pushing herself too much.

"Keep resting. You couldn't have recovered yet." I said as I push her back into her futon.

"Ahh… But I watch want… conquest… of lord…" She replied in broken Japanese. What a troublesome woman. If this keeps up she'll break her own brain and would become useless to me. Oh well… I suppose this is another opportunity for another experiment.

"Don't speak a word, especially in Japanese. Hold still." I replied in the language of the other world in order to place less burden on her brain and placed both my hands on the sides of her head and once again inject my magic to her brain. This time however, I'm not forcefully injecting knowledge to her brain but instead apply healing magic and help her brain organize the new rush of knowledge she just obtained. She still needs more rest to recover obviously but at least she can stay awake for a while in order to witness my villainy.

"Ohh… Lord Necromancer…" She whispered with a dreamy face. I could've sworn I see heart symbols on her eyes. Ah… in this position it almost looked like I was about to kiss her. Fortunately I have my mask on so even if she were to lean forward, all she would kiss is the teeth of my skull mask. These lips of mine are rated S for Sherry after all.

"I said hold still." I sternly said but she didn't seem to listen. I read a bit of her mind and… saw images of us kissing. Haaahh… This horny woman…

"I'm finished. Now you can snap out of your daydream." I said, which snaps her back to reality, though her expression still didn't change.

"Ah… Thank you, Lord Necromancer. Should I call you kind… or very forceful for… penetrating me twice in a day?" She made a lewd joke whilst acting bashful.

"Never make such a joke in front of Sherry." I warned her not to cause misunderstandings with Sherry. I already had to deal with that a lot with her and my sister. I don't want to add more to the pile.

"Hee hee hee. Don't worry. I'm not aiming to compete with Sherry-chan. In fact, I totally support her relationship with you."

"Then why are you still making advances towards me?"

"Because I want to be your second woman."

"Huh?"

"You have Sherry… and probably Princess Iris too even if your marriage with her is only for political purposes but it is obvious that you're drawing the attention of so many women." She teased.

"How troublesome. I already had to deal with too many sycophants at school."

"I'm not referring to them. I'm referring to women who truly fall in love with you, like Sherry-chan, me, Princess Iris… and even Marie-chan."

"Marie?" Isn't that the secretary girl from Lawless City? I haven't met her since my Don Jon persona perished so I almost forgotten about her.

"I can tell she's head over heels with you… or to be more precise… to your Don Jon persona. I mean… ever since his death she has started working whilst wearing white suit and carries your cane and pistol with her all the time. She even salvaged and kept Don Jon's chair in her room and cleans it every day even though she never sat upon it." Huh… That girl even went that far? Why? Don Jon is an old man, not a handsome young man like me. Does she have preference for old men? Perhaps her experience as a prostitute warped her tastes? Or maybe that's how she is from the beginning? Who knows?

"Oh, the way she smiled when she cleans your chair is so cute! I actually approve of her joining your harem!"

"I have no intention of starting a harem." I rejected her harem plan outright.

"Fu fu fu. You may still resist… but soon enough I'll make you fall to the charms of a harem!" She chuckled (in Japanese manga way) and declared something outrageous. I decided to change the topic.

"Speaking of which, how goes the Lawless City?"

"All is well. The people are well employed and are happy. Even the children!"

Children of Lawless City are happy? In THAT Lawless City? You'd be surprised. My modern day common sense can't keep up with the standards of the Lawless City back when I first started conquering it. There are plenty of orphaned children in Lawless City, especially ones abandoned by their mothers from the Pleasure District brothels, who had to survive in the streets. Normally not many of them survive to grow old enough to become common thugs.

When I take over the Lawless City, I had the children work in Snow Fox Corporation's factories, even had them work more than 9 hours 5 days a week. I thought I was being evil when I introduced the concept of child labor and horrible working conditions similar to the age of Industrial Revolution. But the result? I was praised for my generosity instead! Because normally people of Lawless City wouldn't care enough to employ children and would rather abandon them to the streets or force them to steal and only feed them scraps in return. Even the 10 hour work six days a week is seen as generous because to the people of Lawless City, slavery and 24/7 work to the death is the standard for weaklings. I've never felt so embarrassed and defeated. It was too late to change things so I left it alone after deciding that. At least the children were useful enough for my plans and the "generous" working conditions made sure that the resilient children survive and gave fewer headaches for Yukime who has to manage everything. I do prefer the efficiency after all.

"I see. Anyway. The one hour I gave them has passed. It is now time to commence my attack."

"Yes!" She watched with anticipation as I ordered my monster to attack.

The three Magirangers stared at the huge screen that showed the image of the black robed man wearing a skull mask and a nine tailed fox woman clad in white. From the reports of their grunts, the colorless rangers, they assumed that the fox woman, if not Tamamo-no-Mae, is a monster beyond belief, just like the Occult Killer himself. Considering she is the ally of the masked man claiming to be the Occult Killer, they believed the unbelievable report that their minions gave.

"Sir! The monster has made its move! What do we do!?" A panicked colorless ranger asked.

"Do not worry. Even though we haven't even started on the Zord project, we still have something else to deal with that monster!" The Red Magiranger responded.

"Y-You mean…!"

"Yes! I've contacted them! Soon he shall arrive!"

With that vague announcement, the colorless rangers cheered as their lives were saved. The Red Magiranger is somewhat displeased because he couldn't bask in glory due to being unable to save the day himself this time but even he knows his limits, especially after what he experienced in Messiah. This decision of theirs would also incur a lot of debt but it cannot be helped. As long as Kyoto survived, they can rebuild.

They then watched as the gigantic quadrupedal monster blasted through several ruined buildings as it ran towards their walled fortress.

But before the monster can reach the walls, it was stopped by a figure wearing red and white body suit with a white gem embedded on his chest and a metal mask covering his entire head. The figure held the beast jaw with both hands. How could he do it to such a gigantic monster? By being a giant himself.

"Ohhh! That's him!"

"That's Ultrama—No… Ultraforce!" The colorless ranger corrects himself to avoid copyright infringement.

The gigantic figure, Ultraforce, pushed the monster back and adopts a fighting stance. "Seeit!" He shouted in a typical Ultraman fashion.

The Ultraforce is the trump card of Kyoto's ally, The Land of Light, which is based in the nearby city of Otsu, who focused their efforts on creating a single fighter instead of creating an army of awakeners and has succeeded in creating bodysuit that would enlarge the wearer to gigantic form in order to fight against gigantic monsters and apex beasts. The Magirangers, who haven't started creating their own solution to gigantic monsters, was forced to call upon their ally during such a time.

"Shiaaattt!" Ultraforce launched a kick on the monster, who dodges the attack easily but didn't counter attack. Ultraforce launched a fist and the beast dodges again. The movement of the beast infuriates Ultraforce, who launched several reckless attacks, all of which are dodged by the monster.

"Ultraforce can't… hit it…!"

"I bet the monster is scared of Ultraforce!"

"Y-Yeah…!" The colorless rangers muttered amongst themselves in order to convince themselves of their victory, even though they have lost their morale after seeing how clumsily Ultraforce's movements are.

In truth, the Ultraforce focused too much on the power granted by the suit that he didn't bother training in actual martial arts and was too used to fighting mindless monsters and thus his movements were amateurish.

*Ding Dong Ding Dong Ding Dong*

The alarm started sounding on the white gem in his chest, which flashes red whenever it beeps.

"Oh no! He's losing energy!"

"Already!? But they just started!"

The protectors of Kyoto watched with nervousness as they see Ultraforce already tiring. Ultraforce's suit consumes too much magic power in maintaining the transformation to a giant alone, not to mention the physical strength boost to match the monsters, and thus, with how reckless Ultraforce fights, he consumed too much energy within minutes.

Seeing as the Ultraforce can no longer fight, the monster starts gathering magical power on its mouth and launched a beam of light on Ultraforce, obliterating him completely.

"…." All the rangers, the Magirangers and the colorless ones, are stunned as they saw their last hope destroyed just from one attack. They only moved when the shockwave of the explosion reached their building, shaking it like an earthquake.

"Captain Red! What should we do!?" Shouted the green ranger to his leader, who is unable to reply as their last hope is already gone.

Seeing as the red ranger didn't respond, the blue ranger shouted orders. "Evacuate the city immediately!"

But before they can do anything, an explosion occurs in the middle of the room, startling them all.

When the smoke clears, they beheld the figure of the Occult Killer sitting on a floating throne made of bones.

"Honestly, that was disappointing. I thought you would've been able to muster up a better fight than that." The masked figure sitting on the throne remarks. His voice radiates with terror and authority that intimidates all who are present and made them all fall on their knees, and that's not even counting the immense pressure of magic power they sensed from him, which, to the patrols who encountered Yukime, far exceeds hers.

"Wh-What do you want!?" The Red Ranger asked whilst panicking.

"I could've easily destroyed this entire city with my fingertips but because you've disappointed me with your performance, and thus I have another plans in store for you."

"Wh-What kind of plans…?"

"You mentioned you didn't have Zords yet, didn't you? I shall build them for you and have you pilot them to do my evil bidding."

"Wh-What makes you think we will…"

"Either you do as I say or you die in absolute agony and your souls become my slaves for eternity. The choice is yours."

"V-Very well.. We shall do your bidding, Occult Killer-sama." The Red Ranger easily agreed and bowed to his new master. The others followed suit.

"Heh heh heh. Good. Let the games begin."

Author's Note:

The part with Lawless City children working in factories is something I should've mentioned since the Don Jon arc but I forgot. At least I have a chance to mention it while also revealing how Marie's been doing after Don Jon's death.

Ultraman appeared and gets defeated in an instant and now the Magirangers served the Necro—The Occult Killer. The scene where he invaded their Command Center and forced them to pilot his own Zord is definitely a reference to Lord Zedd when he did the same thing to the Power Rangers. I even listened to Lord Zedd's theme whilst writing that scene.

Dhestrya: Nice

Answer: Thanks.

Sweettoothmoon: You know every time I read this I can't help but think of another villain I enjoyed watching every time The Necromancer puts on his act around others or when he fights his nemesis Shadow. The one and only Mr Perfect Cell from the DBZ abridged series. The way they both act without a care in the world, how they don't take others or any situations seriously unless it's fighting their nemesis who they care about more than anyone or anything. Even Cells song My Way reminds me so much about Claude and why he becomes a villain, to live life his way and without any regrets. Even when things don't go their way or when they lose, they both keep smiling and roll with the punches. Just enjoying life to the fullest and doing it "My Way".

Answer: Mister Perfect Cell is an awesome villain. While I am sad that DBZA has ended, I'm glad they ended it in such a great way with the Cell Arc. Also enjoyed the Buu Bits but Cell Arc is indeed peak.

Guest: Back when you teased the Return to Japan arc, I was wondering which of the Seven Wraiths would accompany Claude. Similar to how Beta accompanied Cid in canon. And then when he passed through the portal alone in chapter 139, I was slightly disappointed. But then this chapter cleared it all up.

In reference to the chapter name, here is a quote from the modern iteration of Tamamo that almost everyone is familiar with: "Mikon"

Answer: I'm glad you enjoyed it. I almost didn't include anyone from the Seven Wraiths. Luckily I remembered Yukime's conversation with him in the Don Jon arc, which makes me decide she has to be the one to go to Japan with him.

vikinggold32: Wft. ..143 i see another momonga .. awesome.

But at this point I felt that Sherly would betray.

Answer: Yeah, that Momonga is definitely a reference to Ainz-sama.

I don't think Sherry would betray. Why would she? You underestimate the power of Stockholm Syndrome.
