He blinked his eyes while letting out a small grunt. He held his head as he felt a massive headache coming along while getting up as he felt cold all over; that made him pause for a second in confusion.
In all of his years of working in the S.Y.N.D.I.C.A.T.E., he had never been cold, especially after the accident with the chemicals from the lab when he was still a trainee in the agency.
His eyes quickly adjusted to everything around him, and just as the pod he was in opened and released the white steam inside, he hastily stood up as his eyes looked behind him at the pod he was just inside. It appeared as if the pod had malfunctioned and opened up on accident. From the flakes of ice that were on him, he guessed that someone had put him in cryo-sleep. This kind of worried him and made him think about how long he had been out for.
Eyebrows furrowed with worry until he took a long breath in and out as his face reflected his determination.
He had to stay calm, get out of here, and figure out those things later.
There didn't seem to be anything in the malfunctioned pod. It seemed like the only thing that had been in there was him. While thinking this, he quickly closed the pod as the white steam covered the glass, showing what was inside.
This reminded him to check his outfit, just in case he still had his side weapon along with his storing unit given to him by the S.Y.N.D.I.C.A.T.E. due to him about to embark on his first real mission a couple of days later after he was promoted to Super Agent of the organization after his training was complete.
He thanked the organization and the stupidity of whomever captured him since he managed to find his sidearm, the Ice Pistol (aka "Frostbite"). Although he found it a bit strange why they didn't take the ice pistol away or how they didn't find it. He understood why they wouldn't find"Infrost"since it was well hidden, but his ice pistol was on his side, so... he just assumed it was stupidity on the evil organization part, but something in his head told him otherwise, which he decided to ignore.
He also found his small gray box that could contain100x100 metersworth of storage, which he nicknamed"Infrost"due to it simply being labelled"Prototype" bythe organization since they were planning to make a better one later that would be able to contain1000mx1000mworth of storage. After doing his finger signature to open it, which was drawing the picture of a 2D ice cube, otherwise known as a square.
The top of the cube opened with a small vortex on top of it as he reached inside the cube while thinking of the thing he wanted as it came into his hand automatically.
His hand came out of the box holding are-usable "frost grenade". This made him let out a small sigh of relief as he took a look around in the grey metallic room just in case someone was watching, but he didn't see any cameras.
There was nothing else in the room except for the pod and a blue table in the corner, which seemed to have some science things with notes next to them explaining what to do next. He never tried to familiarise himself with the works of science except their gadgets. He had doubted he would ever understand how the devices worked.
...Until the higher-up forced him to learn exactly how his gadgets and vehicles worked so he would know what each of them does and how to fix them if they ever get damaged or stop working.
Wherever he was, it was not one of the safehouses that was given to him by the S.Y.N.D.I.C.A.T.E. Thankfully, whoever kidnapped him didn't take away any of his weapons hidden on his person for some reason. They must have been quite the idiotic bunch.
He paced around the room to gather his thoughts as he quickly came to the only logical choice. He walked and stood against the wall right next to the metal orange automatic door as he began a long wait as he turned on his Cryo-Cloak ("Winter's Veil") by lifting his sleeves of his cloak and using one of the side buttons on the side of his watch as small ice particles appeared all over him before making him blend into the wall.
He was actually interested in this gadget enough to learn that it generated layer of reflective ice crystals that would turn him temporarily invisible and allow him to blend into the background.
What he was currently thinking was that whoever placed him in that pod must be thinking he was still in the pod, unconscious in cryo sleep, and doesn't expect to see it empty.
So, once they walk in, he will walk out past all obstacles without any trouble, thanks to his cloaking device, hijack some sort of vehicle, and get the hell out of here.
A thought then overtook his mind that he hadn't thought of before. Who the hell would be confident enough to kidnap a soon-to-be Super Agent of an underground global agency? A crime lord or even an evil genius.
The thought made him slightly nervous since this would be his first real encounter with a real evil genius. He wasn't sure if he had any good one-liners since most of his jokes were ice puns; he practiced in the mirror to himself.
He tried to regain confidence in himself by saying a Super Agent would never care how cheesy or terrible whatever he says is. All he had to do was act charismatic and confident, not actually be those things. He was quite a good actor after all, or at least he thinks so.
More thoughts entered his mind. What was the first thing the agency told him to do when in an evil base? Cause as much chaos as possible and kill as many minions as he could before leaving, and if an opportunity presents itself, kill the Evil Genius. If there are any agents locked up, free them and let them join the chaos before escaping.
With this all-in mind, he waited as the plan was quickly put together in his head despite not knowing what the base even looked like or how many levels it had and which level he was on. He simply waited for someone to walk through the doors as he took out "Frostbite," ready to shoot. It would likely be a minion who would enter through the doors and not the Evil Genius themselves in order to check on him.
His thoughts were broken as the door's mechanism whirring caught his attention. The (one day) Super Agent gripped the "Frostbite" tightly, the cool metal of the pistol feeling reassuring in his gloved hand.
He was prepared for anything thrown at him and any minion that came through that door. He had been through hell and back, with the agency having put him through any and every possible trap they could come up with. They even made him fight hitmen and martial artists along with other agents. Each time he managed to pull through after many failures and getting back up, they then proceeded to make him fight all three and add more and more numbers each time.
Right now, he could probably fight, at most, eight hitmen or martial artists at once and still hold his ground, so any low-level minion should be an easy win for him.
The doors slide open with a hiss as a single figure stepped minion was in a standard yellow jumpsuit and hard yellow helmet.
It appeared they seemed to have a clipboard in hand as they walked over to the pod and past him. They seemed to not be aware the pod was empty due to the mist covering the glass that would show what was inside.
He walked up to the pod as he took a look over while getting out a pen to begin to write things down. He didn't seem to notice that the pod had malfunctioned or that there wasn't anything inside, probably likely because he didn't have experience in this particular field and was just here to check if anything had changed from what Ice could guess.
This minion's life was about to end. He was about to end a life. This thought raced through his head as he snuffed it out. He was taught to aim for the kill by the agency, and he would not let them down. A minion like this was here to help the Evil Genius end the world and is not to be left alive.
...
One swift hit to the back of the minion's head, and they were passed out on the floor. They were simply a minion and a low-ranking one at that, and in his mind, there was simply no point in killing them. It didn't matter if it was simply a low-ranking minion; it was still a life worth sparing.
He turned on his invisibility and disappeared once more before exiting the room quietly as if he was never there. He also hacked into the door and made it shut close. He guessed it would probably be a while or a couple of minutes before anyone came here to check up on them, wondering why they hadn't reported back since they had only sent a single minion.
He quietly walked down the corridor past traps, security cameras turning back and forth looking up and down the hallways.
Managing to do all of this while having to dodge minions walking past him in conversation or busy with things that they are holding. What he was currently trying to do was get a general gist of the base before bringing it all down to hell.
After a bit of searching, he gained a general view of the lair. It had exactly three layers with no basement and was located somewhere that was cold since when he looked outside, he found snow. The beautiful white, cold snow. Oh, how he missed it. He hadn't gotten a chance to see it ever since having to move the S.Y.N.D.I.C.A.T.E headquarters; the only thing he got to see was the unappealing, rusted, and lifeless metal that the headquarters was built upon.
Ice pressed a button on the side of his watch, which opened up, and took out the hologram of a map from "Infrost" as he opened it to show a small blue dot on the continent of Greenland. Such a marvelous place filled with snow and ice he could play and skate in all day. It was a shame climate change was melting the ice away; he should probably work towards fixing that after he finishes his job.
He also found the bay that they use for boats and submarines. He decided to mark this place down on his watch to remind him where to find it. Yes, the watch also had a location-marking application on top of its other uses.
While trying to find the Evil Genius so he could shoot his brains out just like the minion or freeze them in ice using his "Ice gun" ("Cold Snap") he had gotten out and put on his side along with "Frostbite".
It was at this moment that everything was then painted red all of a sudden and then black before going back to red over and over again as a large noise of a ringing bell was heard over the base.
A large alarm went off as everyone went into high alert. He was currently in the cafeteria as he watched minions drop their food while trying to stand up and not bump into each other while rushing out to secure the base as the loudspeaker in the corners of the room began to speak.
"WARNING! THE EX- A SUPER AGENT IS CURRENTLY IN THE BASE! BE ON HIGH ALERT AND CAPTURE THEM!" A gruff, frostbitten, and commanding voice came out, ordering the obedient minions.
His thoughts went into overdrive as he calmed his thoughts, 'Alright, they have found the minion. It seems I just have to speed things along a little earlier than I would have wanted.'
Well, there was no point in stalling the massacre any longer, and he did get all the information he needed to cause a large amount of damage to the base while planting bombs to detonate on the generators. Although he did wonder why the voice stumbled for a second at the start since it was obviously talking about him. Although he wondered why they said, "Super Agent" since he still wasn't the Super Agent of the S.Y.N.D.I.C.A.T.E and was still in training.
He threw the frost grenade at the crowd, leaving the cafeteria as it killed the closest to it while freezing the rest as they turned around, only to be met with bullets in their forest as he had already taken the "Frostbite" from his side and began firing with complete accuracy. Shooting every single muscle minion before his gun started to overheat before just beating the other regular minions into a state of unconsciousness. He still wanted to avoid at least some needless deaths if he could.
He stepped outside only to be met with a bunch of mercenaries running towards him with bats and guns in hand as he took out "Cold Snap" before making a wall of pure ice, which blocked their way before taking out "Infrost", opening it, taking out a frost grenade(they automatically regenerate in "Infrost" after one is taken out), switching it to sticky mode, and throwing it at the foot of the wall of ice before running off.
'That should cool them down a notch.' He thought while laughing internally at his own joke while trying to ignore the fact of the situation that he was in the middle an evil genius's lair, far from base, and still not knowing where the evil genius is or who it even is.
I got the idea of creating this character since I once heard someone on the internet say it would be cool if there was a dlc in "Evil Genius 2" where you played as an organization against the Evil Geniuses and the Forces of Justice as well while slowly building up your organization from the ground up. Although, I have a different plan of where I want this character to go.
