CHAPTER 3
LEAVING
I had decided. I had decided that it was time to leave. I could not deal with this crap anymore. It was annoying. I had finally had enough. I don't know why I am so angry. But, I'm going to have to make a plan on when and how to leave.
I know I'm going to have to apologize to Yuki. I'll have to do this so that she will see that I am "sorry". She will not know my true intentions, of course. But, a thought had just occurred to me. How bad will the guilt be?
Will the guilt overpower me and turn me back? I know I shouldn't be doing this kind of thing anyway. So, I made up my mind. I must go and apologize to Yuki. Then, after that, I can steal food from the kitchen while Mom and Yuki are asleep.
So, I went to go find Yuki. "U…um, Yuki?"I asked. Yuki turned around.
"What is it, Ame?"Yuki asked.
"U…uh, I…I wanted to tell you that I am sorry."I said.
"It's okay, Ame."Yuki said.
"Yuki?"I asked.
"Yes?"Yuki asked.
"Do you know where Mom is?"I asked.
"No, why?"Yuki asked.
"I just wanted to apologize for what I did,"I said.
"Okay."Yuki said. So, I set off to go and find Mom. I wonder where she had gone. I checked every room. It just now occurred to me that she might be outside. So, I went to go and check the house one more time before I went out. The same result.
Okay, time to go and check outside. So, I went to go and check outside. I went through the backdoor. I did not see her. I went around the house. Still no sign of Mom. Where could she have gone? I started to get frustrated. I had to calm myself before anything was done.
I had to remind myself one step at a time. I stopped. What if she's by or even in the mountains? I went to check. She is probably waiting there. She probably knew that I might end up going there because of Sensei.
Sure enough, Mom was sitting there. Waiting for me. I looked at her. She looked at me. I walked toward her. What will she say? What will I say? I am inches from reaching her. My heart begins to pound. I cannot mess this up. This is my only chance.
"M..Mom, I want you to know that I am sorry,"I said. Mom looked at me.
"Come on Ame. Let's go home."Mom said. I am totally confused right now. What is Mom doing? As we walk home, I take a deep breath. Here goes.
"Mom?"I ask.
"Yes, Ame?"She asks with a smile.
"I am sorry,"I said. Mom looks at me, then laughs.
"It's okay, Ame."Mom said. We both walked home together.
Later that night, I grabbed my things. I grabbed some food and some water. I put it in a bag. I grabbed a bunch of clothing. It was time. I quietly zipped up the bag. I looked one last time around the house. I will miss this house and my family.
I looked down at Mom and Yuki one last time. "Bye, I will always love you."I said as I walked out the door.
