Of course, you can stay with me, but come to California not to Vegas, if you finish early I'll still be there and you can't stay on your own in the Hideout. I haven't walked that way for a while so I don't know if it's even still liveable or if it's been marked for demolition. And that way you won't be living on the streets in Vegas all summer and risking being pulled into the Nevada foster care system, if you get caught in California at least you should be placed close enough for me to visit you during the year so I can keep an eye on you. If you come to me you may have to hide a bit as you come and go while staying with me because I'm not supposed to have overnight guests but nobody else seems to follow that rule, though their guests mostly only stay a night or two or a couple of nights per week. And I'll have to ask Ethan because he'll be here for another three weeks but I expect he'll agree and then we'll have all summer to find you a safe place to stay through the year. It will be wonderful to see you after all this time. I can show you Caltech and maybe you can show me some of the things you've been learning. I have a professor whom I'm sure would be happy to help me enrol you in summer school here without asking too many questions if you would like. Let me know when you will be arriving and I'll meet the plane. This is the phone number for my floor of the dorm in case you don't have enough notice to send me a letter. 112334566.

I'm sorry that Hermione and another student have been attacked but grateful that the school isn't still blaming you for the attacks. I was worried that the bullying would go too far and you would be seriously hurt. I must admit though that I'll be relieved if they do close the school, as long as you have a safe place to go, I'm still worried that whatever is attacking the students would attack you.

It seems a funny coincidence that there weren't any attacks while Hermione had the diary and they started again almost as soon as it was stolen from her and she was one of the first victims? But I cannot imagine how the two things could possibly be related. Though the one thing the diary did show you was Hagrid and the giant spider after Hermione asked about the attacks that happened 50 years ago last time the Chamber of Secrets was rumoured to be opened so it seems like it was in the school around that time as well. Maybe there is a connection we just do not understand. I would suggest it was cursed in some way but it didn't seem to affect Hermione. I know you had some doubts whether the boy in the diary was telling the truth. Maybe the diary is causing the attacks somehow but I don't know how and was trying to divert suspicion. Neither of us knows enough about the limits of what magic can do. If you come across that Diary again, please do not write in it. Try to destroy it if you can. I know Hermione thought it was just a curious puzzle but the coincidences are too much. Rip it up or throw it in the fire. If it's not what's causing this then it won't do any harm to destroy it and if it is then it's the only safe thing to do.

Do you know what will happen if they cannot find what is petrifying students before September? Will they keep the school closed or hold classes somewhere else? I guess it doesn't matter to you that much as long as you can get away. If you can get to America and I can get you into summer school and things go well over the summer or if you can come to America after leaving Scoil Draiocht, then maybe we could find a way for you to stay here and enrol you in a nonmagical school next year if Nezcalilizcali Naualotl Tlateotokani Toltekayomeh still won't take you. Will the Polyjuice potion work on me without magic so I could pretend to be your guardian, I'd have to get a fake ID as well. Still, I don't think the hideout or a camp ground in Pasadena are warm enough to live in during the winter, you'd need a really good cold weather sleeping bag or a magical quilt with permanent warming charms and I'd like you to be somewhere more secure than that even if you might actually be safer in a homeless shelter than you are at that ridiculous school of yours now.

It seems to me an odd thing to do to cancel the quidditch match and send the students back into the castle. Weren't you all safer out on the quidditch pitch? If he had any sense he would have let the game go on to distract you all as long as possible and kept you all out there as long as he could, while experts were brought in to search the school. Of course I have no idea what sort of experts they might be but I'm sure one of the professors would know enough to know who to ask to do it.

Good luck finding and learning a subtle hex you can get away with casting on people who've been hexing you. The Karma curse seems perfect but would it wear off over the summer? I know it's only the muggleborns who absolutely can't practice magic over the summer but the rest aren't officially allowed either. I think you want something that they don't need to be using magic to be affected by. I'd choose something more embarrassing than painful, that way if Dean and Seamus catch you practicing or casting it on people they're not going to think it's a sign you're becoming a dark wizard or a danger to them.

It might be odd that nobody notices Batman's costume under his clothing and you're right I don't know how he can afford to lose so many clothes on a junior reporter's salary, but at least Batman doesn't have to waste time going home to the cave under his mansion to get changed before he can help someone.
