The next day, Lori was training some more in Lisa's more underground part of her bunker with her new fire powers. Comparing to yesterday, she was doing slightly better than before, but she was still rather struggling with this new change in her system. Yes, many things don't become fully adaptable in over one day. Gaining the power of pyrokenesis is certainly one of those things.
Nevertheless, Lori was slowly getting the hang of this new superhero life. She fired a few shots at some moving, yet non-hostile, practice dummies with fireballs.
The sound of the flames crackling and sizzling on any of the practice dummies were heard across the room, and a few echoes of the crackling flames were heard, almost sounding like fireworks from Independence Day (but much smaller and not as powerful). It was certainly a working progress for Lori, for she was more happy with these powers, considering the fact that she stopped an actual robbery yesterday, and she is getting fame and praise.
Bobby, unfortunately, was not there to witness Lori in some more training, because he had to go back to the bodega in Great Lakes City to help out his family.
It was alright because Lori knows that the love of her life will come back eventually. Long-distance relationships can be a little more romantic kind of romance. Whenever Lori was sweating, the drops of sweat would just evaporate from the heat inside of her body, something similar to how water would evaporate in an oven.
The training went on for hours, and Lori was panting as she was pushing herself to the limit with her powers. "You have made progress since the day before." Lisa said from her fireproof screen, whom Lincoln was also at. "An outstanding job in your training."
"Thanks Lisa." Said Lori. She took a sip of her orange juice and it felt so refreshing. "Maybe I should go out in the city and look for any crime to be taken care of."
"Good idea." Said Lincoln. "You'll never know when they will pop out of nowhere."
"Literally noted, Lincoln. But first; I need a shower to not smell like Lynn's gym socks."
Lincoln made a shiver of disgust hearing that. "Wouldn't want more of those. Her socks are disgusting."
"that is literally an understatement, Lincoln." The eldest sister smirked. "They would be perfect stink bombs if given the opportunity. Ooh! Don't tell Luan I mentioned that, it might give her ideas for her evil April Fool's schemes."
"got it." Lincoln gave her a thumbs up.
Taking a refreshing shower after everything, Lori got outside to search for any trouble or crime that might pop out in Royal Woods. She wanted to be as keen as a hawk when it comes to rooting out crime in her own home.
A couple of police cars came whooshing over next to her, about three of them, and this had to be something of a clue to whatever crime this would lead her to. Wasting no time, she ran over to where the cops were driving to and it was a construction site, and one of the cranes was going haywire and short circuiting. "What is going on?" Lori asked a nearby cop. The officer turned around and recognized her from stopping those goons from robbing Flip blind.
"Oh! it's you, the fire girl." the cop smiled. "Just in time. Do you think you can fly?"
It took a little while for Lori to reply, for she was unsure of her new flying skills from her new powers, but at last: she said: "I did take a little practicing. What's going on?"
The crane up there is malfunctioning. Some bird poop got into the controls from the wind and it made the crane go haywire. it looks like it's going to explode. You have to go up there and save him before it's too late!" the officer pointed.
"Help!" said the construction worker. "The machine is out of control, and i'm afraid of heights!"
"Then why are you even up there?!" Another cop shouted at the stranded construction worker.
"Hang on!" Lori shouted. "I'll save you!" She concentrated and flew up to the unfinished building, though she was struggling at first. When she was at his level, she said: "grab on! I'll get you down!"
"Who are you?" Asked the frantic worker.
"I'll tell you when I get you down, now come on!" The controls and the machine began to sputter and it made the worker grab on to Lori's hands. The eldest Loud Sister began to struggle a little because the guy was heavier than she was. But she had a job to do, and she needed to make sure he would get down there safe.
The machine exploded as soon as Lori put the worker down, and he was very grateful to be saved like this. He smiled and gave Lori a hug as a token of appreciation.
"Thank you!" He said, "thank you!"
"gah! Don't mention it." Lori gagged. "Can you please let go of me, you're squeezing my liver."
"Sorry." The worker immediately let her go. "You saved my life. What's your name?"
"Volcano Girl. The new superhero of Royal Woods." Lori replied.
"Well, Volcano Girl." said the saved worker, "you have my eternal gratitude for saving my life. If there's anything I can ever give you, just say the word."
"Oh, that's nice, but I literally don't need anything."
"Ok then. I'll never forget you, Volcano Girl. I need to get myself some coffee to calm my nerves." And he walked away while hugging his arms.
Lori smiled, feeling satisfied over her next save. The best part was that no one got hurt in this situation. "You did it again, Volcano Girl." Said another police officer with a proud smile.
"Oh, it was literally nothing." Lori said. "I was just helping someone out. That's all."
"And that is what we officers love to hear, and care about." A third officer pointed. "We can always use more people like you."
"Thank you, officers."
In her apartment, a person was readying her own costume. A white golf uniform with a black mask and hood over her head, and a cape to go with her hood. She also had a belt of weapons that looked like golf balls, but were actually small bombs, and an ammo belt along her torso like for spare bullets, but this one was for more golf ball bombs, and she now had a battle axe that was in the style of a golf club
It was none other than Patty Putter herself, and she was out for revenge on a certain teenage girl named Lori Loud, and an evil smile crept on her face.
"Lori Loud," said Patty to herself. "Prepare to meet your doom," she went to her golf cart, which she upgraded into a flying vehicle and activated it as she drove off with it in an evil laugh.
Lori was helping Darcy, Lisa's best friend, by getting her pet cat out of a tree. At first the cat was very reluctant? But with a few gentle strokes on his furry back, the cat felt a very warm feeling of solace, and allowed himself to be held by the new hero.
"That's a good kitty." Lori baby-talked with it. "Now to get you back to your mommy," she hovered back down and gently gave him back to the toddler
"Thank you so much, Volcano Girl." Darcy said. "Thank you for helping Scratch."
"It was nothing, really. Take care of him now."
"I will. I promise. Come on, Scratch, it's time for your bath now." As Darcy walked off, Lori smiled at her and her cat? But then there was an explosion nearby.
"What the?" Lori hovered herself. She flew over to where that commotion came from.
"Lori Loud!" Said a female voice. "Where are you?! Show yourself!" She began throwing golf ball bombs at a nearby golf course.
"Hey!" Lori shouted. "What are you doing?"
"Who the heck are you?" Said the golf villain. "Wait... Lori?"
"I don't know who you are talking about." The hero tried keeping her identity safe.
"Don't play stupid with me!" Said Patty. "You ruined my life, and now I am going to ruin yours!"
