Another day had passed and Lori was getting the hang of her training involving her new powers of pyrokenesis. Of course she was still rather struggling with how to maintain her stance and composure with how she shoots fireballs and waves of flames on the practice dummies.
She felt more confident than ever in her new fire abilities, especially how she stopped her first supervillain and saved a woman from having her purse stolen from a secret mugger yesterday.
Yes, this life was starting to grow on her like a new kind of schedule for her, or a pimple that doesn't hurt and never pops at all.
In her training session, Lori was panting as she did a few backflips and fired two flame shots at two dummies with her two hands, and Lincoln was watching on behind the safety glass, and Lisa next to him, both of them looking impressed
"She has really gotten better." said Lincoln. "Lori has more control over her powers."
"Not fully," said Lisa, "I'm afraid Lori still has some tweaks to work out in her system to purify her power of pyrokenesis. Which might take a good number of years.
"True, but at least she isn't accidentally setting things on fire." Lincoln said. "Imagine if she set Lola's Princess ride on fire."
Lisa had a look of fright and replied: "don't even say that, Lincoln. You know how protective she is of her vehicle. We both know that if someone accidentally destroyed her ride, then it would mean signing one's own death warrant."
Lincoln had a horrified look on his face and thought of how evil the girly-girl twin can be, and even pictured her as a devil or the queen of the underworld with that evil demonic grin on her face. "How can I not know what she's capable of?" He said
"Nothing can possibly be more frightening than Lola's wrath." he even gulped at the thought of how terrifying Lola can be. Sometimes, he would rather face an angry mom and dad rather an angry Lola, but of course, his other siblings would agree with him if he said that. The training went on for Lori and she was feeling a little tired from all of the excessive moving from all of this sparring with the dummies, but she didn't want to let everyone down. She is a superhero and she could not let everyone she care about down in any way.
Panting, she just wanted to take a few sips of lemonade or juice to refresh her system, but wanted to train a little more so she can get the hang of using her pyrokenesis powers more often, and create less... accidents. She shot more waves of fire at incoming dummies and caught a glimpse of flying dummy coming towards her. Luckily, Lori was fast enough to dodge the incoming dummy swooping down, and punched its head off with a fiery fist, catching the decapitated head on fire.
Lincoln and Lisa looked on in astonishment at this magnificent feat. Lori herself looked very astonished by that move she just pulled off. "Whoa." The eldest daughter said to herself.
"Lori, that was amazing." Lincoln clapped his hands to give her some oral support.
"indeed. This is showing that you are adapting to your new powers." Lisa analyzed. "Though I am afraid you are not really a pro just yet."
"I know." Lori sang with her arms crossed. "I know it's not perfect."
"Well maybe you should call it a day with training." Lincoln suggested. "You practiced for at least two and a half hours."
"Whew, that was literally quite the workout." She wiped a few drops of sweat from her forehead. "I need a shower right now." Taking a few sips from her water bottle, the eldest sister did just that and cleaned herself off in the shower.
Lori was feeling more proud of herself as the newest superhero of Royal Woods. Saying that lady from a purse-snatching mugger made her feel even more good about herself, and she was feeling the burn in her body from all of that training. Yes, she was literally burning off calories with these exercises. Suddenly, she sneezed and accidentally spewed out a small wave of fire from her nose. Thankfully it didn't hit the floor, making her sigh in relief. But Lori realized she needed to be more careful with her sneezing from now on.
After cleaning and drying herself off, Lori picked up one of the magazines from her and Leni's room to read, and then she felt like sneezing again, and prepared for the worst. Suddenly, the urge to sneeze had disappeared from her body.
"Whew. That's a relief." She said. "For a moment I thought I was actually- achoo!" Before she could say anything else, she actually did sneeze, and to her annoyance, she actually did catch the magazine on fire. "Dang it." She narrowed her eyes.
Nevertheless, she put on her clothes and walked outside to look for any crime that needs to be stopped.
Everything looked nice and normal, no mugging, no bullying, no robberies, everything look perfect today in Royal Woods. It went in for about an hour, so Lori decided to fly over the city to look for any crime to be stopped instead so it would be easier for her.
After all, walking for a long period of time can be quite tiring.
She was hovering over many buildings near the ground level so she can get a closer look at any suspicious activity, but there was still no sign of any villainy. Until... from a far distance, around fifteen miles, there was a large, cloud of green smoke. Green smoke? Black smoke was one thing, but green smoke? That was definitely out of the ordinary.
Perhaps this could mean something bad is about to happen. She flew over to where the green gas was coming from and saw many people unconscious, almost looking like they were dying or already dead.
Lori realized that the green smoke was some kind of poisonous gas cloud.
