emergency room to emergency room, Lori and Lincoln were questioning many countless people who had ended up here from food poisoning. Every question that they gave the patients was the same response: they were just at bakeries and purchased some baked goods from the many places they purchased their food from, and after eating a few bites, they just became very very sick from eating the goods and suffered many symptoms such as throwing up and getting explosive diarrhea from eating the contaminated food.
So it had to be true, someone had poisoned the baked goods before many of these people started eating them. Lori smelled a new villain who had just surfaced his or her face to Royal Woods, and she knew that she and her little brother had to stop this unknown villain.
Lori was growing concerned about these poor people who were poisoned and sent her to the hospital in the first place. She wanted to help them all out, along with Lincoln. These poor people did not deserve something like this at all. Not one bit. The administrator of the hospital walked up to the heroes and asked what the newest patients said, and Lori replied: "They all said the same thing, sir. poisoned from eating contaminated bakery products, it's literally all true. Someone is definitely sabotaging all of the bakeries in town like, trying to get rid of competition."
"Hmmm. This is more grim than i thought." said the administrator. "Well, as a man in charge of this hospital, me, and my employees will certainly do their best to help these people in any way we can."
Smiling along with his sister, Lincoln said: "Thank you, Administrator Jones. We'll be sure to catch him and or her, or die trying."
"Thank you both so much." said the administrator. "I always thought that superheroes were all just fiction in comic books and stories, but i am really glad that superheroes exist after all. Good luck and make sure this sick person pays the price for the damage he or she has caused."
"We will, sir." said Lori before shaking the administrator's hand. "Come on, Lin- i mean- Laser Boy. We have work to do."
"Right behind you, Volcano girl." As the heroes walked out of the hospital, they tried figuring out what was going on around here. This could not be just some weird plague like a Spanish Flu or Swine Flu. Someone had definitely poisoned all of those people if it looked like this. Either that, or a zombie apocalypse. Suddenly, Lori's phone was calling, and the identity revealed to be Lisa.
"Hey Lisa, what's going on?"
"Well, I was analyzing a cupcake that I found from Mr Grouse's grocery bag a few minutes ago, and I couldn't help but analyze it in the lab when I have heard of the mysterious 'baked goods poisoning' chaos that is happening right now."
"Did you find anything?" Asked Lori
"Oh yes, and it is quite disturbing. So listen well." She cleared her throat. "According to my latest research, the baked consumable items from countless bakeries in town were contaminated with Moroccan red salt."
The answer struck Lori. "Wait, where have I heard that before?" She said. "Hmmm sounds very familiar." She moved her eyes to the sky as she was thinking of how Moroccan red salt has rung a bell to her brain. "I need to take a look at it. What's wrong with it?"
"Do you not remember operation Dessert Storm?" Lincoln reminded her. "He said it caused many health problems if one ate it."
"Correct." said Lisa. "Research says that the enticing Moroccan red salt causes nephrolithiasis, street name: Kidney stones. Nausea, explosive liquid feces with blood and-"
"whoa whoa whoa! Stop!" Lori said in disgust. "That is literally too descriptive. Why do you always have to be like that?"
"Well you wanted a clear explanation, and I am giving it to you both."
"Next time," said Lincoln, "please make sure people hear what they want to hear instead of giving them nightmares or scarring them for life. Because there is a way to explain in a less... descriptive way."
"Of course. A lot of you lesser human beings cannot comprehend the truth. Anywho, whoever got this enticing yet dangerous ingredient needs to be stopped before any more innocent civilians suffer the same fate as the poor souls in the hospital."
"We just need to think and figure out who is going this." Lori pointed. She noticed a small clue on the ground, and it was revealed to be a small perfume spray bottle. Hello? What's this?" She breathed as she picked up the bottle. "I think I found a clue, Lincoln."
"A perfume bottle?"
"It says cherry-limeade perfume."
"Well I think I know who uses that." Said a voice. It was Pam, the owner of the local ice cream shop she walked up to the pair of heroes to get a closer look at the perfume container. "My friend, Carol uses that. She just appeared in operation Dessert Storm but got disqualified for using Moroccan Red Salt."
Now it was all coming together. "Of course!" Lincoln realized. "Since Carol got kicked out of Operation Dessert Storm, she began plotting revenge by poisoning the other bakeries since no one will go there anymore."
"Lazerboy, you're a genius!" Lori smiled at him. then, before Lincoln knew it, she hugged him. "We need to find her before she causes any more harm to more innocent people. Thank you for helping us, Ms. Pam." she referred to the kind middle-aged woman
"Of course. I am happy to help."
"But, did you get poisoned too?" asked Lincoln curiously
"Oh no, but my daughter did. I need to check on her." she ran ino the hospital to do just that.
When the two heroes arrived at the seemingly abandoned "Carol's Baking Company", they peeked through the stain-glass doors and windows to look for Carol to put a stop to her evil plans. They didn't see anyone in there, just some wrecked stools and messy floors with random debris. "Something's wrong here." said Lincoln
"Literally agree with you, little brother."
"Here, let me break the door down." he was about to break the glass when Lori stopped him. "Wait a minute! Remember the last time Lynn punched a glass window? she was literally bleeding with glass splinters."
"Ooh. Right." Lincoln remembered. "Her hand looked very painful after that."
"Here, let me see..." the eldest sisters looked around for something to break the door down. "A-ha! A a hammer." she found a broken one near an alleyway dumpster and used her strength to break the glass in the door. Of course she had to make more than one dent so that they can both fit through the entrance. It was quiet. Too quiet. Carefully, they silently walked around the seemingly abandoned baking store for any sign of the madwoman. Around the counter, to the restrooms, to the backdoor tha tled to the employee quarters, they didn't find Carol anywhere.
At last, when they had no luck in finding her, they were just about to leave the place but when the lights came off, Carol revealed herself from behind them. "Well well well. Look at what the cat dragged in." She said. The new villain had her new outfit on herself. "Glad you can both drop by."
"Are you..."
"Carol Cane? Formerly." She answered for Lincoln. "I am now called Cookie Carol. The bane of all baked goods everywhere."
"So it was you that poisoned all of those people?" Said Lori
"that's right." Said Carol with an evil smile. "I put Moroccan red salt in as much bakeries as I can poison with."
"But... why?" Lori frowned. "Why are you doing this?"
"I only wanted to dazzle everyone with my cooking skills on Operation Dessert Storm. But they disqualified me! And I didn't know that the substance was a poisonous kind." She looked mad and threw an empty bottle at the wall, breaking it. "I had everything until those brutes kicked me off the show. Now I lost everything, and I don't get to share my baking, then nobody can!"
"Wait a minute, wait a minute!" said Lori. "That's no excuse to just poison everyone in town!"
"everyone hates me and treat me like I'm the bad guy, so if that's how they want me to be, then so be it." She pulled out a large cupcake that made a beeping sound, and threw it.
"Duck!" Lori covered Lincoln. The large cupcake made an explosion as it hit the window, shattering the glass. Turns out it was a bomb.
"I am not about to let you heroes ruin everything for me! Now hold still so I can blow you both to pieces!"
"Looks like we got our work cut out for us, Volcano Girl." said Lincoln.
"Maybe I can try to reason with her, Laser Boy."
