Lori was feeling powerless. She doesn't think that she will be a match against a small army of these security forces sent by whoever had hired them to kill her. Up to twenty or thirty armed goons, Lori gulped, possibly awaiting the end of her. "Nowhere to run now, Volcano Girl." said the leader of this posse as he and the others behind him were readying their triggers on the guns. Lori created a large wave of fire at the armed goons and ran down a few blocks to the left to avoid as much bullets as possible. The wave of fire managed to stun a lot of these mercenaries as part of their suits were already on fire, and they began doing the classic campfire technique to extinguish the flames latched to their bodies.

It gave Lori the perfect opportunity to try and run away from them. One can say that running away isn't always the best solutions to problems, but this one was an exception.

Sounds of gunfire were heard from behind her, Lori looked behind and saw at least eight of these armsd thugs truing to gun her down. The teenage girl was looking frightened. "Dang it, Lincoln! Where are you?!" She said to herself as she was running some more.

countless civilians were running and screaming as they were trying to get as far away from the chaos as possible.

Four police cars arrived to teu and hell Lori out. Sixteen cops hurriedly popped out of their vehicles to fire their shotguns and pistols at the mysterious security force. But it wasn't much use for the officers. The evil goons had better weapons and numbers than the officers fending them off snd trying to keep the peace.

Lori, in all her heroism, also did her best to take care of these goons and help out the officers. "Drop your weapons!" Said the ringleader of the officers.

"Come and get us, coppers!" Said the leader od the security force in reply. "Pour it on boys! Let's show these ameteaurs that we mean business!"

Some of the cops were shot in certain body parts, rendering themselves unable to keep fighting agaisnt these bad men. At last, Lincoln arrived in bis Laser Boy outfit ans pulled out a small bomb and threw it in the direction of the mercenaries, and it revealed to be a bomb the shape of an eight ball.

"Sorry i'm late Volcano Girl." Said Lincoln. "Did i miss anything?"

"No, but i do need your help, Laser Boy. Those baddies are back and i want to figure out who they work for."

Suddenly, fbe eight ball bomb exploded and seven of the mercenaries were impacted by the blast. But alas, there was still too many of them for Lori and Lincoln to fight head-on. On top of that; more and more officers were becoming hurt or injured from more incoming bullets from these red-armored thugs.

Suddenly, a big, black shadow appeared like a very large bird. A crow, raven, a rook, it was hard to tell by how fast it was moving. It was like a big blob of darkness or shadow was hovering.

The blot of darkness stopped and landed in the middle of the street as it was turning into a human. This stranger had a long, black cloak covering his body, and his head was covered by a black hood and only his mouth was visible. The firing on both sides stopped when this figure landed. "It's the grim reaper!" said one of the red-armored mercenaries, starting to panic.

"Come on, Darrell, if it was the Angel of Death, he would be all skeleton but this guy has flesh on him. So he can't be the Grim Reaper."

"Maybe I am not Death," said the figure to the red-clad soldiers. He had a Welsh accent, and he added: "But i can be just as scary." He turned into his shadow self again and got as large as a two-story building and gathered around the large group of mercenaries, and when he turned back into his normal form, the mercenaries he engulfed were all gone as if they had disappeared out of thin air. Lori and Lincoln looked absolutely shocked and surprised to see what this person had done. "There we go." he said. "Problem solved"

Before long, the officers closed in around the youth, pointing their guns at him now, fearing that he is an unscrupulous villain too because of his dark appearance. Lori had a feeling in her gut that this guy is a good one, and not an evil one. She stepped to the guy's defense and said: "Hold your fire officers! He helped me and Laser Boy against those baddies."

"Yes. I mean you all no harm." the new hero clarified. "If i was after you all too, i would just sent you all into oblivion too."

"Oblivion?" said Lincoln. "You sent them to a dark void?"

"No, i was just joking with you." said the youth. "They have been transported to every empty cell available in the maximum security stony-lonesome where they belong. Those buggers won't be a problem anymore. I promise you that."

"Who are you?" asked Lincoln.

The man pulled his hood down to reveal him wearing a ghost-like mask over his eyes. He had long, wavy black hair that made him look like a lion a little. His super suit consisted of a two-piece suit as black as night with three claw marks on his chest as his insignia He also had a silver belt clipped around his waist and the center of it was a full moon on it. "Call me The Void." said he. "A new superhero in town."

"Void?" said Lori. "Well i'm-"

"Volcano Girl and Laser Boy. I've heard about you two." the youth smirked. "I've heard about you ever since i moved here to town. You guys are the talk of the whole town."

Lori smirked and she, along with Lincoln, are starting to take a liking to this guy. A very intriguing kind of person, and they were both glad to have him come to their aid as backup. Though his dark and shady appearance gave the heroes and cops a creeped out vibe in them.

He would look like a person that Lucy would be more into, given uer gothic nature. But this Void did save the day and get rid of those goons, so they couldn't he too quick to judge on him. "We literally thank you for helping us, Void." said Lori.

"Well i guess we can trust you on this since you helped Volcano Girl and Laser Boy." said the chief of police with her arms crossed.

Perhaps the heroes have made a new friend. The officers got in their cars and drove off as the citizens carried on with their lives.

"So what brings you here to America?" Asked Lincoln. "Where are from, England?"

"Wales actually." Said the new hero. "The least known part lf Britain. Right next to Northern Ireland. And i had to leave my home because some stupid bugger ruined my mum's life there, turning her into a total outcast."

"What?" said Lori. "What exactly happened?"

"It's a really long story, Volcano Girl. I prefer not tk talk about it."

"i... i'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked that."

"No, you're perfectly fine, luv. But come on, you're probably tired after what those buggers put you both through. They put up quite a fight."

"You're not wrong." Said Lincoln. "We would have been gonners if not for you coming to help us out."

Void smiled. "Glad i was able to help you two out. Though i don't know who those creeps are and why they are trying to take you out."

"Ah man!" Lori remembered. "I should have literally interrogated one of them and question who they work for."

"There's always another day." Said Void. "But maybe the officers in the prison can give him the grill. And, i gotta go. I have to take care of some important business at home. Nice meeting you both." He turned into a spectral black bird like a crow or a raven before flying off in the distance.

Both Lincoln and Lori were intrigued to have met this nee hero, but deep down, they had a very tiny speculation that he couldn't be trusted somehow. "Well seems really cool." Lori smiled, "but i hope we find out who got Snow Flaker out of jail and who hired those dirtbags."

"I'm sure we will, Volcano Girl." Siad Lincoln. "It will probably take some time. Or some serious investigation."

"Can't argue with that, Laser Boy. Come on, let's go home."

"And we can trust Void, right?" Asked the white-haired boy as he was walking home with his big sister.

"Pfft, he literally saved us. So i say we can trust him."
